Maggies Cafe in Torfaen

Came with family for breakfast. We ordered two breakfasts and two children’s meals. Service was ok but food quality was lacking. For the price we paid and having other restaurants near by they really need to step up their game. Was offered OJ/AJ which they had run out of, pineapple juice came as a replacement but looked like dish water.

Went for breakfast with family, food was poor quality juice looked like dish water (didn’t drink). Coffee was bitter af. Won’t return, which is a shame could be a lot better.

First time at Maggies Cafe and sadly my last. We orderd two lattes and when they arrived, it was clear they were made with a sachet. The lattes had remnants of powder which had not desolved and it tasted sweet. As I do not take sugar, I asked for a tea instead which was brought and the lady apologised and said other customers had commented on the sweet taste! We ordered a bacon roll and sausage roll and these were lovely. My friend then ordered three mugs of tea as my husband had joined us, and asked for them to be strong. What arrived was the weakest brew I have ever seen and I was tempted to ask for three tea bags to improve it! First impressions are always important I think and I noticed one of the employers was holding a child in her arms behind the counter along with a pram to the side and the service seemed a bit chaotic. I hope this will improve as the business matures.

Sadly I won’t be returning and can’t recommend. Purchased two coffees that were delivered and spilt. Understood the coffee was from a sachet and not stirred correctly. I was informed they’ve had complaints about the coffee. Ordered two breakfast rolls which were fine. Ordered three cups of tea that were as pale as could be. They were spilt when delivered too. Two cups of tea were left as undrinkable. No nice touches, waited far too long to be served.

Came into store today with family and was very taken aback by the fact that when I asked for hot water for my baby’s bottle I was charged. I obviously paid it as I needed to feed by 5 month old but was very shocked. Every shop or restaurant in the area have never charged myself or my sister with her children for hot water. I will not be returning or recommending to any parent or family members. The women who served was very rude and blunt also.

A small cafe in the indoor market. Friendly staff nothing to much trouble. Food is very nice and there is a vast menu to choose from all at very reasonable prices. Now my favourite place to go.
