I had two wonderful experiences with Waypoint Restaurant in one week! The first was a surprise dinner I threw for my husband the week leading up to our wedding. I worked with Gill for months planning the details from the dinner itself to the water taxis to take our friends and family from Oban to the island. Let me just say, she was an absolute delight to work with. Finally meeting her in person on the day was just the icing on the cake. Everyone raved about the dinner and Gill! She and her team just made us feel right at home. The second was a lunch after an excursion on the island for our wedding guests. It was just the perfect way to relax after a day outdoors. Once again, Waypoint outdid themselves. My husband and I plan to return to Scotland and Oban one day and a visit to Waypoint will be high on our list.

On previous visits I found the food ok and some dishes better than others but you get what you pay for at the end of the day. The last visit I had there I ordered steak pie (tiny portion with burnt pastry' with 'hand cut chips' (frozen fries) and a minuscule amount of vegetables. The standards have plummeted here recently.

We stayed here for 3 days on a golfing trip.Fantastic! Staff were amazing, food was lovely, would definitely stay here again! What a lovely little town. We ate dinner in the tavern, was very nice. We also tried the local curry house as recommended by Lorraine behind the bar, fantastic. The third night we tried the local bistro, nice but I preferred the curry house. Opinions though. I would highly recommend this tavern.👍 We were down to play The Glen one of the days but it was closed as it was too wet. Lorraine behind the bar arranged for us to play Archerfield instead. Wow! Really nice. Thanks Lorraine, very nice of you to sort us out.

This used to be a great wee place. It's sadly gone downhill. Told we had to wait, which was no issue, but when we got to our table, we had to another 10mins, only to be told they were only taking drinks orders. Ordered a coffee and a soft drink, and it arrived and was drunk before the food order was taken 15mins later!! It's tasty food, but the portions are small, and it's expensive for what you get. My hubby stood at the till for 10mins waiting to pay. Staff were coming and going, and not one apologised for the delay. It used to have a lovely atmosphere with the staff being chatty and helpful. All that is gone, and we are sad to say that we won't return in a hurry. Such a shame.

Highly recommend this lovely small cafe in the heart of the Merchant City. Very busy but light and airy. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the cafe is spotlessly clean. All the ingredients are fresh, high quality and reasonably priced. The Menu offers a good choice of items and some more refreshingly different combinations. The smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich was delicious on the lightest brown bread, with a very pretty side salad. The staff made an off Menu cheese and tomato sandwich for my friend and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We had no room for cakes but they looked delicious. Drinks choice is good and value for money throughout,

This is a beautiful restaurant in the heart of Tenby. There are lots of vegan options and the portions are big (win!). The ingredients are fresh and cooked to perfection with amazing flavours and the chef is flexible with adapting to personal taste. I can't wait to visit again.

I had walked past Cairngorm Coffee a few times before, and today decided to stop in and buy a coffee. After paying for my coffee I looked up to thank my server, and caught her mid-eye roll at me. I have no idea what I did to deserve that. When I was waiting for my coffee I noticed several flies in the food preparation area, and had I noticed earlier I would have walked out without buying anything. The coffee was okay, but there are several cafes in Edinburgh producing far better coffee for 25% less and with well-mannered staff.
