Very enjoyable experience. Nice friendly staff.

Enjoyed a fabulous night at No. 5 Inn, Alva. We were a party of over 50 in number, and every single person had a super meal. That takes some organisation to have everyone served with hot, home cooked food at same time! Food was great value, excellent portions and freshly cooked. Lovely, friendly service too. Altogether excellent!

We stayed here for 3 days on a golfing trip.Fantastic! Staff were amazing, food was lovely, would definitely stay here again! What a lovely little town. We ate dinner in the tavern, was very nice. We also tried the local curry house as recommended by Lorraine behind the bar, fantastic. The third night we tried the local bistro, nice but I preferred the curry house. Opinions though. I would highly recommend this tavern.👍 We were down to play The Glen one of the days but it was closed as it was too wet. Lorraine behind the bar arranged for us to play Archerfield instead. Wow! Really nice. Thanks Lorraine, very nice of you to sort us out.

I had two wonderful experiences with Waypoint Restaurant in one week! The first was a surprise dinner I threw for my husband the week leading up to our wedding. I worked with Gill for months planning the details from the dinner itself to the water taxis to take our friends and family from Oban to the island. Let me just say, she was an absolute delight to work with. Finally meeting her in person on the day was just the icing on the cake. Everyone raved about the dinner and Gill! She and her team just made us feel right at home. The second was a lunch after an excursion on the island for our wedding guests. It was just the perfect way to relax after a day outdoors. Once again, Waypoint outdid themselves. My husband and I plan to return to Scotland and Oban one day and a visit to Waypoint will be high on our list.

Recomiendo encarecidamente este encantador pequeño café en el corazón de la ciudad mercantil. Muy ocupado pero ligero y aireado. El personal es muy amable y servicial y la cafetería está impecablemente limpia. Todos los ingredientes son frescos, de alta calidad y a un precio razonable. El menú ofrece una buena selección de artículos y algunas combinaciones más refrescantes. El sándwich de salmón ahumado y queso crema estaba delicioso en el pan integral más ligero, con una ensalada lateral muy bonita. El personal hizo un sándwich de queso y tomate para mi amiga y ella lo disfrutó mucho. No teníamos espacio para pasteles, pero se veían deliciosos. La elección de bebidas es buena y relación calidad-precio en todo,

This is a really good restaurant. Polite, regular service and the food was delicious, with interesting specials and delicate flavourings. Recommend the sushi and the tofu ramen. Will definitely go back. Advise you book as, unsurprisingly, they are popular.

This used to be a great wee place. It's sadly gone downhill. Told we had to wait, which was no issue, but when we got to our table, we had to another 10mins, only to be told they were only taking drinks orders. Ordered a coffee and a soft drink, and it arrived and was drunk before the food order was taken 15mins later!! It's tasty food, but the portions are small, and it's expensive for what you get. My hubby stood at the till for 10mins waiting to pay. Staff were coming and going, and not one apologised for the delay. It used to have a lovely atmosphere with the staff being chatty and helpful. All that is gone, and we are sad to say that we won't return in a hurry. Such a shame.

We’d booked lunch using Itison Vouchers for 4 adults and 2 kids (healthy eaters and School holiday) food was absolutely amazing, I’d personally thought since using vouchers portions would be small, how wrong I was 🫶 Highly recommend and we will 💯 be returning in the near future 🫶

Había pasado por Cairngorm Coffee un par de veces antes, y hoy decidí parar y comprar un café. Después de pagar por mi café, miré hacia arriba para agradecer a mi servidor y la cogí mirando hacia mí. No tengo idea de lo que hice para merecerlo. Cuando estaba esperando mi café me di cuenta de varias moscas en el área de preparación de alimentos, y si me hubiera dado cuenta antes habría salido sin comprar nada. El café estaba bien, pero hay varios cafés en Edimburgo produciendo café mucho mejor por un 25% menos y con personal bien educado.

Cappuccinos are brilliant. My new favourite place to get coffee, I genuinely go out my way to swing by this place.

Was as good as promised! Very clean, cheery, and comfortable interior to have breakfast in, lots of great food, pastries and coffees, perfect 👍

A wonderful ice cream parlour with great coffee and home baking. The ice cream flavours available are amazing. The home made cakes cater for allergy intolerances. Worth trying out some of the tropical and asian flavours.

My friend and I decided to go and test out the chocolates and what an experience! The tour was very interesting, and the tasting was informative and delicious. We stayed afterwards for a hot chocolate and a slice of cake which was also delicious! All the staff were attentive and welcoming, especially Kayla who was charming, helpful and there when we needed anything. I highly recommend this experience.

Lovely, small cafe in the centre of Melrose. The savoury scone was good and the chutney really made it special. Great staff

This cafe is now under new ownership and is called THE KNOWES. It is open from 9:30 until 4 (3 on a Sunday). It has been under new ownership since February this year and has had a lick of paint and a fresh menu - albeit broadly similar to the old one. Having visited the cafe several times on visits to Kelso over the last few years, it remains my favourite venue to get a hot drink and a simple meal. The premises are kept very clean and presentable.
