This was my 6th visit to the restaurant, each and every time the service has been really slow. The only reason I have returned is because the food is fantastic. Unfortunately, the service really lets this place down. A half empty restaurant, food sitting at the pass, and the servers are re-setting tables or standing chatting while the food just sits there. The 10% service charge is probably what allows the service to be this bad as the staff are getting tips they wouldn't receive if it wasn't already on the bill.
No podía fallar.
Great food and service but the tv was on along with music in the background which did not make for a great ambience. For a romantic evening go somewhere else
Outstanding dinner in historic coaching inn. We had the fried brie and duck breast appetizers. I had the venison casserole which was one of the best dishes I've had in Scotland. If staying at the inn, make a reservation at the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Sunny Saturday afternoon - dog walk on Carsaig beach. Went to the coffee shop for a coffee - once in we fancied a bacon roll - can't go wrong - right?. To be fair there were a number of customers ordering toasties etc. They did say "we are very busy and it might take a while" What does that mean?" "ten minutes probably"
Well sitting in the sunshine and looking out over the boats coming and going is no hardship. After half an hour we got a bit impatient and were assured that they are just almost there! So, after 40 minutes we were delivered two dry rolls with crispy bacon which falls apart under pressure. Dry as a bone inside and greasy outside? That's quite a trick! My labrador enjoyed it anyway.
Why are we so hopeless at hospitality in Scotland?
Great Food, Along with friendly staff but looking very tired and signs of damp which is a shame as only a few hours decorating would be needed to give it 100%

The staff was helpful and very friendly. Even though we slept above the pub and there was a party we managed to sleep there. The room was spacious and clean, classic furnishings, quite comfortable mattress. The bathroom ok. Private parking.
Was the best bakers by a long shot now I have stopped buying rolls as they are very much poor standard now.
Spoke to one of the bakers indicated to miserable to put flour on them anymore
What a shame
We came to Jura Isle to take a self driving tour of the isle with a visit to Corran Sands. Our family migrated from Jura Isle to the United States leaving from Corran Sands. Beautiful beach for finding little shells, wandering in the water and just sitting and pondering.
Although the cafe was closed. We came here for the Cow Tour. Our guide was very insightful and informative. Got plenty of hugs and kisses from plenty of different cows and the bull. All so soft and easy to get around. The guide was extremely well mannered and was willing to answer any question and give advice on how to handle
11/10 will hug Kate again and pet Angus
Easter Sunday Lunch/Birthday Celebration - we’d been looking for somewhere in the area that would be able to accommodate 5 adults, 3 kids and a dog :-)
We were seated in a side lounge/restaurant that was suitable of a party of our size and the dog, it was comfortable, fresh and rustic.
The staff were great, we were seated and a drinks order taken, menus given etc etc.
We chose just two courses from a fab menu,
Roast Lamb, Roast beef, Burger, fish and Chip and puds Lemon Tart, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Creme Brûlée, ice creams were our choices.
You could tell the food was freshly cooked and prepared and great care taken with the presentation. The Vegetables for the Roast dinners served seperate, which is in our eyes great so your not over faced with too much on your plate, plus I didn’t have to eat the veg I don’t care much for 🤣.
There was no rush for us to leave our table which sometimes can happen in restaurants. Front of house team very friendly and even willingly sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy.
When we are back in the area, we will most certainly be visiting again.
Thank you
The staff were lovely and I loved how delicious the food was i had the margarita pizza and my partner had 3 sides and it's a really good deal and it was affordable. Only thing was we got sat on tall tables and chairs and I had to hunch eating and was a little uncomfortable but other than that the vibes were immaculate!
