A fantastic place to come for lunch. The food was amazing! I came with my partner and my friend’s family (4 adults, 2 kids). 2 of the party have dietary needs- 1 celiac and 1 who has a lactose intolerance. I have to say, not only was the food fantastic, but the Gluten free options were fantastic, and the staff were amazing. Not only were they friendly, but they all seemed to have fantastic knowledge of the foods they were selling and the allergens that were in them. We were really impressed and actually returned a second time. The second time was just as good as the first. Definitely worth a visit!

Great bar & modern bistro a five minute drive from the Brodick ferry station (Turn right to the end of the main road, then right at the fork). The young friendly staff are great, and the there's a lovely menu of lunch faves like Buffalo Chicken, Fish & Chips, Scampi, Steak Sandwich, Cullen Skink and others. We liked it so much we came two days running. Not open for dinner though sadly or probably would've gone there in the evening as well! Lots of parking on site and across the street.

I ate here today with my husband and two children having just come down from Goat Fell. Suitably tired, the smell of the food drew us in and we were greeted and given a table straight away. The menu was lovely and happily had a kids section. My husband and I were quite shocked at how expensive it was, though I confess we haven't been to Arran for quite some time so perhaps this isn't the norm. We both had Cullen Skink which was £10 and the kids had chicken nuggets which was £6.95. Our impromptu lunch came to £42 which is more than I would normally pay, however the food was absolutely outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The bowl of Cullen Skink was massive and full of lovely chunky fish and potato. The children's chicken was freshly cooked chicken breast and the chips were lovely too. Clean plates all round. The staff were lovely, and plenty of them, service was prompt and quality of food was amazing. I would return again.

I have nothing but praise for the way Gina and her team looked after my group and my needs as a coeliac. It can be a nightmare eating out for me but the Wineport has fantastic gluten free menu options. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious. What a wonderful find. Arran currently has few restaurant choices and the B and B’s are not providing evening meals. We struggled on our visit trying to book Brambles at Auchrannie and the Douglas Hotel. They said they could not take bookings until the afternoon of the day. What would do if they said no, so we did not risk it. We then discovered the Wineport just a mile from Brodick and ate there every night. Lovely welcoming staff and inside and outside eating. Immaculately clean and a very nice menu. Not huge which is always a good sign as everything is freshly made by a delightful lady. We could have eaten everything on the menu. Cannot recommend it enough and also they welcomed our lovely wee dog. It is good to see such a lovely venue with reasonable prices and food presented so beautifully. We will be back next year of not before. Don’t visit Arran without a visit to The Wineport.Mike, Patrick and Lucy (dog) from Sherborne in Dorset.

We booked a table for lunch and as it was a lovely day it was nice to be seated outdoors. One problem though is that a picnic bench is quite difficult to get in and out of when you are an elderly lady !!The service was slow but on a beautiful sunny day (no shade provided) and being on holiday that was not really much of a problem. The food is average pub grub and pricey for what you get.

After driving past we decided to call in for some food, From the out side the pub look like a nice traditional Scottish pub. Once inside it get like a school dinner hall it was awrful and soleless. The menu looked nice. Once the food came my scampi and chips was arwful the chips where not home made as described on the menu , they where exactly cheap oven chips. The scpami was poor as well. Ilmy partner ordered the Mac and cheese which was recommended by the waitress. It had the be sent back twice to to it was piping hot on the outside and cold in the middle it had been microwaved. For the cost of 14 pounds you expect something alittle better. All the food was tasteless and made out of the cheapest ingredient they could find. The beer garden did look nice. But the food here would be fine if it was 2 meals for 12 pounds but at there prices do not go. It needs gorgen Ramsey in here for his kitchen nightmares program.

On August bank holiday monday my husband a friend and myself decided to visit Arran. Our friend had recently had a hip replacement and had been in isolation for 4 weeks so this was a big day out for her. She booked a table for 3 of us for lunch. We arrived and were able to have a table outside, what a bonus on such a lovely day.We checked out the menu. My husband chose fish and chips. My friend and I opted for a Greek salad. I was was particularly pleased as this was starred as 'available as a gluten free option'.My friend checked with the waitress what the Greek salad consisted of, she was told ..... fetta, olives, peppers, cucumber and tomatoes. This sounded delicious and I assumed that the gluten free component would be a warm pitta bread. Our bowls arrived.... my friend had no peppers....we each had a few olives and few cubes of fetta on top of a bowl of leaves.Neither of us were particularly impressed, my friend spoke to the waitress who took the bowls and said she would speak to the kitchen.New bowls arrived with a few more 'bits', some red onion and a few more peppers....... my friend, searched and searched but not 1 piece of fetta was in her bowl and neither bowl had any dressing on the salad, there's no dressing on the tables either.By this time my husband had finished his fish and chips and we decided to pay for our drinks, his meal and leave.Sadly I'm still not sure what part this sorry salad bowl, which was no different to my friend's, made it the gluten free option.Wineport had 2 opportunities to wow us with a lovely Greek salad, perhaps with warm pitta ( gluten free or otherwise) a tzatziki dressing.... the possibilities are all there.Instead we had a boring bowl of leaves with some carelessly added bits for £11.00.We left to wander back to the ferry, on the way we popped into the co-op and bought a boxed salad for about £3.00 which was infinitely better. The 2 stars I've generously awarded are for the fish and chips that my husband said was lovely and the chilled sauvignon blanc.

OK, this feels like it is the acceptable interface of Home Farm and the Brewery, but it works. You can get draft Arran Blonde Beer ( a bit sweet but a good drink) and a light snack (a bit expensive but suitable for purpose). I would recommend walking up Goat Fell first then any misgivings would be washed away. There was a difference in the quality of the toasties the normal cheese and pickle was poor with a smearing of both cheese and brown liquid whilst the goats cheese and caramelised onion was getting on to being unctuous.

We visited the Wineport a few times during our holiday. Once from Brodick along the beach to have morning tea and cake then another visit on the way down from Goat Fell. Tried the strawberry cake, scones and lemon cake. All 3 were great, especially the cakes! Nice tables allowing customers to sit in or out. Would recommend

On our recent visit to Arran, we spent a couple of hours at the Arran Aromatics & Arran Cheese shop and went looking for something for lunch and a nice coffee. 50 yards along the road we found Wineport and decided to drop in.

Friendly, reasonably priced. Good service of well prepared food. Masses of seating outdoors , best for pint drinkers. Indoor tables not cramped.

On the road round Arran on the road to Goat Fell in the Claddach visitor centre, it is simply very good, lovely service , not overpriced and great food! The beer is good too!

This place is at the begining of the path to goatfell. Menu has some good choices and a couple of vegetarian options. Had fish and chips and it was really nice and my brother had the mojito burger that he also said was good. Sat outside as weather was fantastic.

We had walked up (and down) Goat Fell and thought that this justified a quick beverage stop at the bottom.

Visited twice after walking the nearby beach. The second visit speaks for itself, ie I don’t revisit poor places.

My friends and I were looking to purchase a few beers and some food after our climb up Goat Fell. We entered this establishment and were met with such rude staff. One I am certain was a manager! We were snapped at when we asked to try a sample of the local beer, then told to ''hurry up'' when choosing. We decided to move on after one pint.

I had the misfortune of visiting here yesterday after climbing Goatfell mountain. Upon arriving back from the mountain my two friends and I stopped in the first building we saw to have a bottle of the local brew. We then discovered that there was a pub on the other side of the building. It looked like a nice place so we decided we'd get a round of drinks and order food. My friends had finished they're bottles but I still had mine. Before I realised it a woman comes up behind me and literally RIPS the bottle out of my hand. She then unceremoniously tells me that no bottles were allowed inside. Being a tourist and not knowing this I apologised and offered to take it away with me from the premises. She then went and poured it down the sink and stormed away!! The rudeness of this woman was shocking and I believe she may have been a manager to make it even worse. My friends and I couldn't believe what had just happened right in the middle of us buying a round of drinks from them. I did complain to another manager, Gina I believe, who gave a meek apology but was offered nothing in return for my drink that was dumped away. However, they were still very happy to take our money in the middle of all this. I advise anyone who wants to be treated with some common courtesy and respect to go elsewhere because you wont get any here.

Good food, soup was really tasty, staff are friendly, service is quick. Limited opening hours but worth visiting. Feels like a real community meeting place. Huge slices of cake and a warm and clean coffee shop. Worth visiting for lunch.

Great lunch spot, fab team of polite, cheerful and energetic staff - Megan and Annie in particular are superb. Menu seems more limited on some days than other for no apparent reason but everything produced is good quality, tasty and reasonable portion sizes. Always feel it could do with more tables than it has!
