Gather in Highland

Sadly our last fantastic lunch in the gorgeous Gather. Views were stunning, service and food were excellent as always. So sad to see you close 😢

This is a very unusual and stunning venue. There are far reaching views and both the service and food were great. It’s closing at the end of this month except as a function venue. We are so leased to have visited

Beautiful Lodge with spectacular views over the Solway Firth. Couple this with a fabulous on site restaurant serving good food and proper Scottish hospitality and you have a winning formula. We stopped en route to the ferry and now we are stopping on tge way back too!

We booked for a lunch today. The restaurant has been decorated very tastefully for Christmas. We shared a lovely salmon pate to start and then each opted for the lamb curry which was one of the specials. it was delicious. Massimo was very attentive. We are looking forward to attending the forthcoming curry night. The Goan chef does a great job!

Gather at Lagan is a beautiful Restaurant with spectacular views over the sea. On a clear day the Isle of Man is visible. The food and service were superb. Definitely worth a visit. There is also outside seating for the warmer months.

Absolutely amazing lunch. Food was delicious and service excellent. Gorgeous setting too, would definitely come back.

A fabulous evening at Gather with some amazing food from starters to desserts in the South Indian Curry evening. The presentation was excellent and the taste of the dishes absolutely delicious. There was first class service from welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly staff too.

Excellent South Indian meal on 8 November. All dishes very high quality, beatifully presented and served. A lot of care and attention had gone into making this a very sepcial evening.

Amazing food, amazing team, amazing standards, amazing view. Pretty AMAZING overall. We were staying in Laggan Snugs and enjoyed breakfast on both mornings, both days delivered. We will definitely return, such a lovely time.

Wow wow wow , not enough superlatives to describe this amazing place. Service by Anoop was wonderful. What a wonderful way to spend our last day in Dumfries and galloway. They have truly thought of everything to even heated seats outside for coffee with a view .

Great venue with a fantastic view and a superb building- would have loved to give a 5 star review but the menu is very poor - where is the local fish and meat options - it looks like the don’t have a proper chef and are making the menu too simple. Come on Lagan you can do better, Dumfriesshire needs you!

We were here mid-afternoon on a Sunday. The restaurant was beginning to quieten down after Sunday lunch, which suited us just fine. Very much enjoyed the food. Gather demonstrates that a well thought out menu doesn’t have to be huge in order to provide variety.Service was both friendly and efficient.

A wonderful setting. Greeted upon arriving, water brought to the table without asking. A varied menu at a reasonable price. Drinks and coffees also a reasonable price. The service was impeccable, very friendly.

We visit gather every year when we stay in Gatehouse of Fleet. We are never disappointed. The food is always delicious and the cocktails are amazing! See you next year!

We are staying in one of the sea view snugs at Laggan. As we were arriving late on a Sunday afternoon we booked an early dinner slot at Gather restaurant. We were not disappointed... my husband had the soup, salmon and homemade strawberry cheesecake and I had the homemade salmon paste pate, mushroom saganaki and Anup's chocolate mousse with mandarin and orange. Every single dish was outstanding. We felt it was also very good value.

Love the views, loved the decor, loved Masimo Amazing service, beautiful hot chocolate & cakes. We will be back. One of my fave places locally - maybe my fave

4th visit to Laggan, and each time we have not been dissapointed. Lovely location, with stunning views over the estuary, and the food matches it. Lovely menu, great selection all cooked to perfection. Eight of us all had something different, and we all loved our selection. Slight reduction due to some of the deserts, which were nice, but just not 5 stars. Do not miss this place.

Beautiful, clean venue with spacious outdoor seating area. Views are spectacular from wherever you are seated. Greeted warmly and my friend and I were shown to a table in the middle of the restaurant. The menu was only average with limited choice for vegetarians. My friend selected scampi and chips and I opted for the mushroom saganaki. Food was okay but what REALLY let this place down was the lack of customer care by the staff. After clearing away our plates, we were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We told him yes and he disappeared. We waited. And waited. My friend went to the ladies, came back and we still had not received the menu. She went upto the bar and asked a waitress for one. We selected what we wanted and waited. And waited. Nobody came to take the order for desserts so we decided to not wait any longer. I paid the bill and the waitress said she was just about to come and take our order and didn't we want to wait? We said no and left. A beautiful venue and setting...such a shame the customer service was so poor. Neither of us will visit again.
