Panzerotti in Angus

Panzerotti were delicious.get the fried one not the baked one.perfectly placed over from the Loch.dog friendly heated sheds to sit in outside of main restaurant.

We had my partners 80th birthday meal, for 14 of us, the staff were absolutely brilliant, nothing was a t bother, we were not rushed and the meal was the usual high quality, would definitely recommend this place 100% and more, thank you 😀

Best Italian in the area! Owner Sandro is from Puglia, hence Pugliese speciality panzerotti being the star of the menu. It's like calzone but baked or lightly fried. Also special here are the sweet baking treats. Canoli are my favourite😋 Service friendly & efficient. Coffee and desserts excellent. Seating includes garden sheds outside with picnic tables and infrared heating - ideal Covid-secure private dining if someone has weak immunity. Disclosure: I did photos for the business once in the past.

We had been meaning to visit here for ages and boy were we glad that we did! We had the famous Panzerotti which came with fries and 2 soft drinks. We couldn’t leave of course without taking home some of the canolis too. Everything was perfect. From the friendly, knowledgable waitress to the delicious food and reasonable price. We definitely plan to return again and would highly recommend.

Had lunch here today & nightly surprised! Great welcome & the food was delicious! Decor a bit dated but all about the food. Had a custom panini tuna, sun frites tomato, red onion, mozzarella & potato & herb broth was was seasoned to perfection! Highly recommend given it a try!

Just went there for some cannoli and ended up staying for dinner. Glad we did. The pizza was awesome. Really crisp base and full of flavour. Plus the cannolis we ended up taking away were awesome.

One thing being late but cold. I highly advise avoiding this place! Food is below average for the price.

We had coffee and lovely wee Italian cakes on our first visit. We were so impressed by the staff and food that we returned the following evening for a meal. The frittelle were beautiful, the Gnocchi al Salmone and meatball pizza delicious. I wish we stayed in Forfar because we would certainly visit more often.

We've enjoyed a few lunches at Panzarotti on our travels to Forfar and it never disappoints. It's a lovely wee cafe/restaurant but they have adapted the front to have little heated huts so you can eat outside whatever the weather and also bring your dog! It's charming that each are named after a different area of Italy. We enjoyed a tasty pizza and fries, and a mushroom Panzarotti with delicious vegetable soup. All served promptly. The value for lunch was great, especially given prices across the board are going up. Staff are always pleasant and friendly. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!! We look forward to returning soon.

Beautiful place, has lots of cute sheds with tables and seats that are individual to your visit. Coffee and pastries are all good.

Best Italian meal I've had in a while. Recommend.

Quite pricey for what it is. The lasagna was overly meaty, not to my taste. Bakery was nice but wish the items were labelled as was unsure what everything was and the young waitress wasn't very sure either. Service was a bit slow even tho the place was quite quiet. Place looked a bit dated, seats were all scrapped looked like a cat had used them as a scratching post. Overall underwhelming.

I am now a weekly visitor. panzerotti offers great value food and friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere with a log burning fire and outdoor sheds to expand capacity which is limited.

Garlic bread is fabulous, as is the meatballs with spaghetti and the carbonara pizza.

Not cheap but I guess you only get what you pay for in life, which in our case was a very tasty lunch. Great staff too which helps. Looking forward to going back

We had a fantastic mid week family dinner here, the waitress was precise and polite. We have several allergies as a family and this was easily accommodated. There was even vegan prosecco by the glass :) I will recommend to everyone.

Fried panzerotti was an awesome new discovery. The Nutella sweet thing was also epic.

Went here with friends. I ordered the lasagne which wasn't as I expected. Maybe its how it's served in Italy but it had no bechamel sauce or cheese on so it was very dry. The canolli were nice though. We sat in the sheds outside that needed some TLC.

Fantastic service. Delicious fresh and authentic food. The panzerotti are light and full of flavour. We're going back as soon as possible! Highly recommended.

Food, wine service and the little sheds one word excellent

Not a visit but a very frustrating experience trying to order a food delivery. Phoned 3 times (5 minutes apart) and each time got ‘the person you are calling is on the phone please leave a message after the tone. No point in leaving message. I then went on their website to order and it came up with ‘Scoffables’. Had difficulty registering/log in with this outfit and gave up. On Panzerotti’s website it now says ‘we are closed’ That seems to be the case as I passed the location yesterday and it was indeed Closed - on a Saturday lunchtime.

Fantastic lunch out this afternoon. The staff could not have been more helpful, attentive or welcoming. We were in the Italian village and the staff even allowed us to arrive a little early to decorate the table for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent! Perfect all round, thank you!

With fairly modest premises Panzerotti provide a good range Italian themed menu. Not the fastest, but certainly worth the wait. 🙂

We've not eaten in but had a few takeaways in the car during the Covid lockdowns. All the food was good, hot, tasty and filling. It's not cheap, but the quality is excellent.

Lunch for four today,spaghetti with meatballs, calzone and 2 lasagna, all freshly made and all amazing, would definitely recommended this little eaterie,,,staff were very pleasant and attentive. Would not like to eat in the little sheds they have outside,but that's just me because of mobility problems.

Have been meaning to try Panzerotti for some time based on good recommendations. Have to say we were a bit disappointed. Two out of the four in our party enjoyed there main courses, the other two felt they were average, the pizza I had could have had more topping for the price ot cost. Two of our mains came 5 mins or so after the first two and the sides we ordered came more than another 5 mins later also there was a clouple of mix ups with drinks orders. Also at booking we weren't made aware we were in the sheds outside, we assumed that with restrictions being lifted we would be in the restaurant. The staff we met were all nice a helpful. Overall no major issues, just a several small things added together made it an average meal.

Finding somewhere to eat in a town you don't know at 8pm during a pandemic isn't easy. This was a great find. They've created an outside seating area with little heated huts, bright cheery and feels safe. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic.

Our recent visit to Panzerotti was a rather pleasant one. We placed a very large order for 8 people for takeaway and the food we received was all exceptional. We did have to wait a little longer than expected, as it was incredibly busy for a Tuesday night. However, the owner of Panzerotti was very helpful and called in advance to let us know to save us waiting outside, which was very much appreciated and I was very impressed with how well he handled the situation. When we picked up the food, he was extremely helpful and pleasant and all the food we received was fantastic. Will definitely be returning and are very much looking forward to dining here when the restrictions are lifted. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Popped in for lunch with my 2 sons, i ordered the panzarotti which is a small folded pizza, boys ordered spagetti and a panini. Well it came out promptly and was hot and there was plenty on the plates! Lets just say thete were wmpty plates all round, i was very impressed with the freshness and flavour of the food! My 2 young sons enjoyed it too.! Will definitely come back !

Cosie warm corner of Forfar after a wee walk around Balgavie Loch. We had meatball calzone, cannelloni and lasagne which was delicious. The cakes were to die for. Friendly accommodating staff. Love the wood burning stove.

We had fried panzerotti and were taken aback by how incredibly light and fluffy they were. Absolutely delicious, as were the cannolis we had for dessert, and it was all great value too. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I were both taken aback by the quality of food, the service and the atmosphere; first rate by all accounts. Pre-covid we both travelled quite a lot - we both unanimously thought this was the best Italian outside of Italy we have been to, a real find. Its a small, intimate place with a log burning fire and a great atmosphere, add to that first class service and fresh authentic pizza and pasta and it really is nothing short of 5 star. A must visit.

Went for the first time got a take away and collected. The staff were lovely when I was waiting on the food being ready, was easy to social distance and good having an entrance and exit separate. Layout good for the current version situation (Covid-19). Food super tasty, got a panzerotti that came with lovley fries. Good portion size and I got a cannoli for after that was so good would highly recommend.

Typical Italian hospitality - warmth, no rushing and we were made to feel a bit like family! No fuss genuine Italian food which was very tasty and good value. Delicious panzerotti and tiramisu.

We were in the area for the weekend and looking for a light lunch on Sunday. Found this surprising café on TripAdvisor and if they were any old Scottish pizza/chippy we probably wouldn't have been too curious, but we were drawn in by the unusual availability of their namesake menu item, panzerotti! A pugliese (southeast Italy) specialty that you don't often get in Scotland - just had to give it a try, and we were very happy we did! Our food tasted authentic, fresh and homemade. I liked that there were so many choices of "toppings" (veggies, meats or cheeses that actually go inside the panzerotti), up to 3 of your choice for the same price, and comes with a small salad and portion of skinny fries. Just enough to satisfy our hunger while still leaving room for dessert. A good thing too because the Italian pastries (cannoli, aragostine, etc.) were equally authentic, fresh and delicious. You can tell because the pastry is crispy and the fillings are not overly sweet. If we lived near here, I'm sure we'd be repeat customers!

Heard some good reviews from friends so popped in. Service was good food was nice, portions not enormous. Loved the starter parma wrapped around melty cheese, yum. I enjoyed my pasta, a little too al dente for me though. The tiramasu was tasty. I liked the wood burning stove. My negative would be the plastic tablecloths.

Ate here with a group of 9 and was very disappointed !! Menu was very different from what was online....very basic and did not seem authentic at all....portions small and polenta chips and normal chips Luke warm!!! ... nothing exciting and definitely not Italian..wasn’t offered dessert and then made to feel like it was too late to order(9pm).. over priced mediocre food and slow service !!! Won’t be back .........

We popped in for a quick bite at lunchtime on a Saturday in November. Not overly busy, tired decor but young waiting staff seem polite, well trained and eager to please. Our order was taken in good faith and 45mins later we were given some bread and oil to eat while waiting. A further 20mins and a very apologetic waitress finally brings our order (lasagna for the mister, and panzerrotti for me and the boy). Food was okay but an hours wait for lunch with no explanation is ridiculous!

The food here was amazing and very authentic Italian. The decor maybe needs a little modernised however has a nice feel to it. The prices are affordable and worth it. My only critic would be to maybe hire both sexes as waiting staff because it makes me uncomfortable seeing only young still in school girls working with men I’m sorry I know it shouldn’t but it does.

The essentials first, free Parking, lovely and clean, the toilets were spotless. The niceties, the sausage sandwich I had was excellent, not just the usual fare. The staff were friendly. Generally just a nice place to be and relax.

Very nice, relaxed atmosphere with a good menu to chose from which is reasonably priced. Good, pleasant service. Delicious ice creams to eat in or take away. Take away meals also available. Have been a few times and will go back.

Good food here, been a few times and the food is good and tastes very fresh, I particularly liked the dessert I had which was a tart with ice cream. Laid back atmosphere and good value. Service can sometimes be a bit slow.

I visit here regularly with a friend and we always get excellent food and polite service. Last couple of times we’ve had a bit of a wait for our food which isn’t ideal as we are on our lunch break from work. Great food though!

Went for lunch and ordered Meatballs and Spaghetti, with Garlic Bread. It came covered in Parmesan cheese, I said I didn’t want cheese and was told sorry and the plate put in front of me and she left I left it all.
