Arrived in Campbeltown for a wee visit and we were all drawn to this cafe. I’m so glad we went in. Hands down the best bowl of lentil soup I’ve had for many years, with a toastie and a perfect coffee. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Would highly recommend and if I ever go back to Campbeltown, I’m back for the owners Mum’s lentil soup! Thank you.

Stopped for takeaway breakfast rolls on our way home from a week staying near Campbeltown, what a lovely wee place, nice decor, lovely staff, really lovely older man working there, best breakfast rolls ever, delicious, hot, perfectly cooked. Wish we had tried it earlier in the week because everywhere else we ate was rubbish, avoid the Home Wok, worst Chinese ever, they don't even know how to make chicken fried rice

Servie rapide. Affluence de bon aloi.

We were really looking forward to our visit to Cafe Bluebell after reading all the great reviews, but sadly came away very disappointed. One of the reasons we chose Cafe Bluebell was it claims to be Vegetarian Friendly, but as we found, not so for breakfast. When we arrived, we were given the menu and mentioned about being vegetarian, our very uninterested server informed us the only thing on the menu for vegetarians was the veggie burger…….not for breakfast I don’t think. We suggested to her perhaps we could have the All Day Breakfast, minus the sausage , bacon and black pudding, and she ‘thought’ this would be alright. I also asked her whether this would be reflected in the price, she again ‘thought’ it would be! So I ordered egg, potato cake and baked beans, my husband a toasted sandwich. The breakfast came with one egg, one potato cake and some beans, fair enough, and my husband enjoyed his toasted sandwich. However, when we came to pay we were still charged the £8.95 for a full breakfast, which had only 3 of the 7 items on offer, and even those were not doubled up to create a larger plate of food. The food we had was OK, but we came away feeling slightly aggrieved at the attitude. My suggestion would be, if you are a vegetarian, do not visit the Cafe Bluebell for breakfast.

We arrived around 3.30pm on a Sunday, desperately looking for somewhere to eat, as restaurants and pubs had to close at 6pm due to Covid. This was really the first place we saw, and we decided just to go for it, as we still planned to drive down the coast further before dark. The young waiter brought our menu, and told us of the specials which included Roast Chicken in a Peppercorn Sauce with Roast Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes and steamed vegetables. My friend and I both decide to have this, without even looking at the standard menu. He had me at Peppercorn Sauce!I am not keen on some vegetables so I asked him what they were, did they include carrots, and were they all mixed together? He told me yes carrots were included, and asked was I allergic, or just didn't like them? I didn't like them, but it was no problem to serve me a plate without them.We were served very quickly, and the meals were absolutely delicious! The veg, runner beans and broccoli, were cooked to perfection. Roast Potatoes nice and fluffy. Generous portions. We would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone, as the food was restaurant standard, and this Sunday meal with trimmings cost less than £10 each.

Cafe is easy to find right on the street opposite the harbour. Please note that during COVID-19 social distancing restrictions BOOKING is essential. The quiche was great in flavour and taste and clearly home made. The only downside was the pastry had gone soggy possibly being microwaved to heat up. The coronation chicken was one of the best I have tried. The soup was also clearly home made lentil but my personal preference would be to have it thicker. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is plenty of free parking along the street and around the back of the cafe. The cafe was very busy and popular with both locals and tourists. Good controls and procedures are in place for the COVID-19 virus. Definitely the best cafe for lunch in the area and I would recommend if in the area.

Staff very friendly and place was very clean, including the toilets. I went for the all day breakfast which was delicious, my youngest enjoyed it too (sausages, bacon, beans, black pudding, tattie scone, fried egg, 2 slices of toast with butter and jam and either tea or coffee!) My hubby went for roll and square and my kids were cheese toastie and pizza. Everyone enjoyed. Delicious, crispy on the outside and light on the inside; a rich yellow colour from free range eggs and warm because they are straight out of the oven. After appalling service at Duck Bay we went here for lunch. Warmly welcomed. High chair for my grandson and the lovely waitress brought a bowl of water for the dog. Food was amazing and we were able to eat it indoors without being rained on because we had the dog (as happened at Duck Bay)! She also brought a treat for the dog. This place is fabulous and welcoming. Had a wonderful lunch and will definitely be back. 5 star service and food.

Seriously over rated & expensive. Stopped for a quick breakfast. Service was so slow that we'd finished a pot of tea by the time the food arrived. Ordered toast, avocado and poached eggs. Toast was cold, eggs cold and avocado had some sort of green sludge mixed through it with toasted oats and seeds on top. Not what was ordered. Not what was on the menu and I had specifically said I wanted something plain. Don't bother - it's not worth it!!

Brilliant cosy tearoom. Good selection of homemade cakes. Freshly prepared snacks. Friendly staff. Well worth a visit.
