Incredible staff… taking such good care of us .. definitely will be back on our next visit !

We had dinner at the Ship Inn and absolutely loved it! The soup of the day was delicious and so were the dishes: lamb pie and fish and chips. The portions are generous and the products are quality. I recommend and will return without hesitation.

Stayed 3 nights. Wish I hadn’t. On arrival I had to ask for clean bedding as mine was threadbare, holey and worst of all full of stains. I was brought another duvet cover which was worse than the first, grey instead of white and full of even more stains than the first The pillowcases were as bad and none of them matched. Some candle wick like my granny used to have and just as old. Eventually the lady found me a clean duvet cover but the bedding all smelled sweaty and stale smoke. Carpet was filthy, the window frame peeling and full of mildew. I moved the chair to reach the socket and one of it legs fell off. One bathroom between 3 double Rooms so had to wait ages to use the loo in the morning, hair in sink, layer of grime on ledges, one grubby bath mat all week between everyone. One tiny mirror in bedroom and very high up so ok if you’re 6 foot. Breakfast was a buffet but mostly gone cold when we got there. There was a big tub of margarine for everyone to share which was full of crumbs and other debris. Same with the jam and marmalade. Definitely not worth the money they charge when you can stay in a travel lodge for £29 a night with crisp white sheets and an ensuite.

Very nice little inn and restaurant, good breakfast, nice people, our room was very spacious with smart TV, however pay attention to whether you have an en suite bathroom and don't assume. We were surprised a bit by this but didn't ruin our experience by any means. We enjoyed our stay.

The dining room was cosy and nicely done but the food was average and expensive. I had one of the specials and my partner had the macaroni cheese.

What a fantastic inn! We were treated so well and the food (dinner and an included breakfast) was exceptional. All of the staff were so lovely and took great care of us and even gave us special treatment for our celebration! 10/10 recommend! Quick 30 min drive from Inverness where you can stay in the quiet little town before heading to the west highlands.

There were definitely a couple of issues! Had to change rooms due to bad smelling cigarette smoke in first room. We were moved to another room which was so much better. My dinner was not up to par but my partners was - curry (which I ended up sharing was lovely). However…. The staff were wonderful. Andrea especially. She ran that bar/restaurant almost single handedly with such grace and warmth. If they have not already done so, the owner/manager should take notice! A real asset to the business!!! If it were not for Andrea, I would advise to think twice about staying/eating here. Now we would be happy to return…

Walking distance from the cruise ship terminal. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The ambiance is quiet and peaceful.

i came here as there was good reviews but i had a terrible experience. sat down was 30 minutes before someone took our drinks order, infact we had to ask if we could order drinks and there was only two other tables. and then only one drink came another 20 mins later to say they have ran out of ingredients for the cocktail i wanted so to chose another , which i did.. but took another 20 minutes and my food had arrived by this time. half way through my lunch they came back with half a drink made saying they have ran out of another ingredient for that drink also… an hour down with still no drink. food was good but service terrible and inexperienced. table next to us looked annoyed also waiting at table for some time with no menu given

NEVER AGAIN!!! This used to be our favourite local to have dinner as a family and with visitors. Unfortunately after last night we will never return again! The waitress was ignorant and rude.. twisting her face and curling her lip when having difficulty understanding my husbands accent! (Geordie accent) I lost count of how many time’s she said “what” when we were ordering or speaking! (It wasn’t even busy/ loud) So RUDE. Terrible service The burger was also a huge let down and when my husband informed the waitress the burger was terrible and he left most of it, she GIGGLED! Also not very kid friendly!

Just leaving now the ship inn and can honestly say what an absolute fantastic place, the staff especially melissa was amazing, the welcoming, to food and drink overall hospitality, I stayed in room 1 might be a tad small however best nights sleep in years, I am definitely coming back in September and would highly recommended

I happened to find myself having to stay in this dock town for a few nights and had the pleasure of staying in The Ship Inn Rooms which is an annexe of The Ship Inn. The rooms are lovely and clean warm and comfortable. The shower in my room was exceptional. I wandered over on a short walk to the restaurant at the main hotel and I will say the hospitality and warm welcome was so much better than much more expensive brand hotel chains. I sat and enjoyed a homemade meal of "Bob's famous curry" and light refreshing cider so much so I had to come back and have it a 2nd time. Nothing seemed to much hassle and Jordan and Mel certainly made my stay worth this mention. If you ever find yourself in Invergordon make sure you take the chance to visit and eat here. You will love it.

My husband and I ate here on our road trip through and I can't lie, it was the best food we had in Scotland! I had the steak and ale pie (which I've had many other places too), it was the best steak and ale pie I've ever had. Staff was super friendly and the restaurant was really cute. They had the wood stove going and it was nice and cozy. Highly recommend eating here! We hope to actually stay at the inn on our next trip to Scotland.

We all have lovely food. I had the venison and it was delish would highly recommend this place but you must book

What wonderful staff! Credit to the pub! Jordon, Mel and Adam are wonderful. We were completely stuck and in need of a lift home and these wonderful people sorted us out! Lovely to chat to, good craic and a complete credit to the business. They 100% deserve a pay rise! They dealt with an incredibly busy pub and just about three of them were running it and they made it look easy when reality they were rushed off their feet! Pay rise worthy staff! Thank you soooo much guys!! See you next year!

The Ship Inn has the friendliest staff I've met. They are very helpful and would go out their way to help where possible. The rooms are so clean and very comfortable to have a great sleep and even chill out. The food in the restaurant is fantastic, I could not ask for better. I will definitely return to stay and eat. I will also recommend to all friends, family and colleagues to stay here.

Not very welcoming, notice on door said closed when we arrived. Our room was not completely prepared for our arrival, only one towel and no toilet rolls. I found it difficult to do my hair and makeup as there was no socket near mirror, or table, pillow smelled terrible like it had been dried in room with cooking being done, slept without one. Room on email said with view... large apple tree outside could not see anything, Evening meal wrong order sent twice, Red wine after mix up we eventually received it to find lots of sediment in bottom of our glass so obviously been sitting for years. Breakfast dreadful cold beans brick hard black pudding, didn't go near the bacon... more fat then meat, staff not interested and not friendly.

Quiet modern rooms with excellent bathrooms. Food in the bar was over priced but still tasty. Friendly service from all the staff.

Good location if you are going on a cruise ship. Staff are lovely. Weird smell about the whole place. Bed uncomfortable. Very disorganized...they double booked our room and had thought breakfast was finished even though we had booked a specific time on arrival. Dining table was sticky and grubby. Was offered vegan butter that had separated and resolidified and had a dubious smell. Lots of different teas but no Earl Grey. Hairdryer cut out every 30 seconds. Walls very thin but thankfully our neighbours were reasonably quiet. It's a shame because the place has great potential and the staff seem lovely if disorganised.

Lovely hotel. Lovely food. Chef needs help to make breakfast to order. We wanted poached eggs as part of a cooked breakfast not 2 poached eggs! Lol.

Great place to stay with your dog for a long weekend or mid-week break. The Ship Inn makes for a relaxing home base when exploring the region. The dog friendly suite can easily accommodate 2 adults and a large dog like our Bernese "Baggins"! Eating in the dog friendly bar was great and the Cullen Skink was a triumph. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. Highly recommended.

Nice wee hotel, staff were friendly, rooms were comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was good. Only stayed one night but would happily stay again.

I booked a two night stay for me, my Husband and our family over the Easter break, it was very last minute so I wasn't expecting it to be so perfect. Melissa was absolutely lovely and she went above and beyond to provide the best experience for us. I explained to Melissa how we were planning to visit and surprise our family and she did her utmost best to accommodate us. The rooms were comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay. The chef was also amazing, the meals were just beautifully presented and tasted absolutely lovely, breakfast was nice and being included in the price of the room was well worth it. Great choice and cooked to perfection. We had fantastic weather and such a lovely warm welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend The Ship Inn to anyone looking for the perfect stay. Thank you

Stayed at the Inn for 4 weeks due to work. Amazing staff , Sean, Sam, Morgan, Rob to mention just a few, everyone was kind and lovely, very attentive to customer care. The food was great, Breakfast included. Rooms always clean. The place is just lovely and cosy. Anna the owner of the place is a very lovely lady. You forget you are away from home. Awesome place to stay. Made me feel very welcome ❤️

We stayed here for an overnight but wish it was a longer stay. Owners so welcoming and the room was to die for. All amenities there for you, big comfy bed with big TV in the wall. Bathroom with freestanding bath and lovely toiletries to use. We had our dinner there also and I couldn’t rate it any higher for the quality, taste and presentation 👌🏼 I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Delicious dinner, great atmosphere.

Arrived at the hotel yesterday and it was lovely. Left today and was told that the room was paid for already and was getting phone calls about making payment for our room and was told it was £80 and had to pay £90 as they said the person gave us the wrong price. The room was nice but the bed was uncomfortable and we could feel the springs in the mattress and didn't have a good nite sleep. Going through the front door last nite to get to our room all we could smell was weed which was unpleasant. The staff at night time when we where having food didn't seem like they wanted to be there. The breakfast was ok and the morning staff was good.

The en-suite room we booked far exceeded our expectations. The shower was awesome. But the reason for the 5 star review is the wonderful staff who showed great kindness!

Service was great, food very good. only thing I would say is a porch on the front of the building would be a good idea as anybody sitting in the line of the door gets a blast of cold,air every time it opens. otherwise excellent, would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely meal, good portions, not expensive. Only thing I found was that the roast potatoes weren't done enough. Everything else was great so 5 stars.

Fantastic place to stay in Invergordon. Some of the most helpful staff I've had the pleasure of meeting and great food.

My husband was here for work, when I arrived the room was nice and fresh, lovely kitchen area if I wanted to cook. Shower is amazing. Went for dinner and the staff were very attentive and the meal was excellent, I had dish and my husband had steak. Both dishes very enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious and the chef was great, she chatted with us and it was nice and relaxing. I would like to thank the staff as I had a fall in the car park and they helped me, nothing was too much trouble. Next night the staff came to my room to see if I was ok and asked if I needed anything. Very polite and well mannered staff. Would highly recommend and I will certainly be back. Thank you to everyone xx

Amazing hidden gem of the Highlands. Brilliant staff can't do enough to help. Stayed a couple of nights, rooms are beautiful and the food is absolutely outstanding ( Michelin star quality) one not to be missed 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We done an overnight stop here when we were heading up to Durness. There is a small carpark at the back of the building which can be a bit tight to navigate but not something that would put us off. The building is nice and the interior is well presented. We unpacked out bags for the night and went out to look for a restaurant for dinner. After walking around Invergordon we came back to the hotel and h=ordered our dinner there and what a great idea that turned out to be. When the food came it looked great, smelled amazing and tasted as good as it looked and smelled. After dinner it was back to the room to relax for the evening and eventually bed. The room was a good size and very clean. The only thing I can say against the room was that the toilet and bathroom facilities were shared but as it was only an overnight stay this was not a big concern. Morning arrived and it was downstairs for breakfast where there was a nice buffet and hot food was made to order (included in the price). Once again the food was great. All in all this was a nice place to stay with great food. Was a little on the expensive side but would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff. The Global suite was beautiful and spotless with its own front door. Easy parking right outside the hotel or in the carpark. The food was outstanding and we will be back.

Very unusual had a bad meal here tonight. Not enough waiting staff either. Shame one of my fav restaurants up to now.

Brilliant meal tonight. Excellent service from a very pleasant young lad and excellent food. Our first visit and can’t wait to go back. Tiny bit cold but I think it’s just down to being well ventilated for Covid reasons. Was glad to have my jacket though. Really lovely decor and an extensive, quality menu. Thanks again :)

Had a great couple of weeks here. Outstanding in every way, wonderful host, lovely food, fantastic room and facilities, great location - could not want for more.

Excellent meal, excellent service and great cocktails.....highly recommend booking a table out the back if the weather is good as it felt like we were eating in a different country....cant pin point which one...we were getting Spanish and Mexican and Indian vibes!!!

Enjoyed lunch but disappointed some of the things on the menu weren't available. Will certainly come back

Great service and value for money

Down by the dock yards which means away from madding crowd. Short walk. Into town. Ship Inn staff ( Ellie) went out of her way to help me load luggage into the 7 rooms we had booked. The rooms were clean, spacious and we shared a bathroom. Other staff also took great pride in their positions. Food pre-ordered as there were 17 of us, came like clockwork. Good selection of bottled beers at reasonable prices. Would definitely come back here again.

Food mostly good. Service great. Lovely waitresses. Pity chef does not know what cullen skink is as what we got was more like fish pie than a soup. Needs to be looked at. We live on north east coast near where it originated and it is a soup you eat with a spoon not a fork and knife. Very disappointed as it is a very traditional scottish dish.

Unbedingt Zimmer mit eigenem Bad buchen, sind aber nur 3 Stk vorhanden. Das Essen im Restaurant war hervorragend, Tisch sollte vorreserviert werden.

We had an excellent night on Friday as a table of ten. All correspondence and organising of the dinner was seamless and met with helpful and quick response. I was allowed to come in a few hours prior to the meal to set up with some light decorating (it was my parents 30th wedding anniversary). Everyone had an amazing meal, the food is consistently great (have frequented many times) but the customer service on the night was the highlight, just lovely helpful staff that make you want to return - which i'm sure we will soon!
