The best restaurants in Wakefield Yorkshire and The Humber

We went to casa piri piri for a friend's birthday this weekend. The food was very nice and reasonably priced. The service was really good too - totally recommend.

Disappointing experience at Holmfield Arms. Food wasn’t great, staff seemed inexperienced, and the prices felt too high for what we got. Expected more.

Decent premier inn - starting to look a little tired but in a perfect location for the motorway and Xscape and was only £40 for the night! Shower was stuck on far too hot a temperature and was very difficult to cool down but other than that was a decent stay.

In nearly all the other restaurants around Junction 32 & Xscape the service levels have gone really down hill. Here is very different with friendly, happy and very helpful staff. Really makes a difference and makes you want to go back. Food was great too.

A policeman recommended this restaurant as I was visiting for first time. Not disappointed. Fairly quiet at first but more customers came later. Waj the manager made me welcome. Young lady served me and smiled throughout. £15.99 for popadums starter main course coffee and mints. Ordered a Nan as an extra. It came the size of a large pizza. All the food was fantastic. Cobra was ice cold. Complimentary Baileys too. I saw some negative reviews when I checked on line. Must have been a bad night. Would certainly come again if ever in Wakefield again. Great restaurant. Lovely pub! Amazing food and such good prices. Been twice now and both times staff have been amazing, helpful and super friendly! Child friendly, disabled friendly. Will be coming again!

Had Sunday lunch, the food was good, the service was very much self service

I’m a regular at Nando’s and make it a point to visit various locations across the UK whenever I can. One of the things I love about Nando’s is the consistent quality. Today, I visited this branch (table 21) and ordered a whole chicken to share. While the food was generally warm, it wasn’t served hot. I did ask for the piri chips to be replaced, which the waiter kindly did, but in hindsight, the chicken was also warm, which affected its usual great flavour (its almost cold temperature changed the dining experience). I trust Nando’s for its consistency, but this experience has left me questioning whether I’d return to this location. The staff were lovely and did everything right, but I felt like I didn’t get the value I usually expect.

We called here tonight WOW absolutely amazing food !!!! I had the Thai fishcakes amazing and then the ribeye steak was cooked to perfection my husband had the burger which was also amazing we are big foodies and don't mind paying alot for a decent meal so what quite shocked that it was only £57 pounds with drinks will be recommending to everyone. Also tge gentleman that served us was fantastic

I went around the drive thru and the lady who served me, Sammy, was lovely. So polite, really clear and listened really well. Great experience.

We had a lovely meal and the food is fabulous. The room and acoustics are really noisy, making it really difficult to hear conversations even when the restaurant is only half full. We think it would be so good if the management would look into what they could do to improve this, as it would make the experience so much better for customers. Another restaurant we know did this and the difference was amazing.

The food here is really nice but there is always a phenomenal queue out of the door!

Nice friendly pub, good cask beers.

Haven't been for a few years due to bad service. Happy to say, it seems to have improved. A bit pricey, but the Christmas displays were good; particularly the singing reindeer.

Good food, great service, good atmosphere to be in, great place.
