Courtney was brilliant ! Nothing was a problem & very fast service !

Can't believe how far the standards have fallen here. Food used to be lovely but the new menu is so poor. It's now on par with wetherspoons but four times the price.

Absolutely loved it here We had i think every starter on the menu an also the butchers plate starter 🤤 enjoyed every bit of it!

Honestly this is a beautiful pub but the food has gone so down hill, I was served my food with a moldy lemon and me my partner my best friend and her son left and ended up poorly the same night just after having the food. Food was awful like microwave meals done very quick and you could get a better meal at mcdonalds for cheaper !! 100 for a meal that was awful and made us poorly, shocking I used to enjoy it but ill make sure not to eat here again

I stayed here before going to Leeds Slamdunk & I’d recommend it to anyone visiting! :) it’s close enough to get into the town, breakfast is good, rooms are clean and cosy

We attended a function and the bar was very comfortable and relaxed and set in nice grounds with plenty of parking, the beer was a bit pricey but what you expect at a place like this , rooms were available but we didn't stay overnight so don't know what standard the rooms were

Went for a lovely day at Thornes park and went for lunch at Holmfield Arms situated in the park. Great beer garden, good service and nice pub food.

We visited on the 9th for my husband's birthday with his mum and sister. Excellent service.... awesome food....we love your restaurant so much....we have been numerous times to celebrate certain family events. Highly recommend it to everyone we know. Special mention to Ellis who looked after us brilliantly and was such a lovely guy to interact with....he's a credit to you. We will be back soon. Regards Edward and Jack.

Lovely food and great atmosphere. Very dog friendly which is a huge plus point.

We dined at the restaurant & was served by a lovely cheerful waiter called Ellis, he was super friendly & helpful & served us in a timely manner, asking us if we needed condiments 🫙🧂 or anything else. The food itself was delicious as it is always, perfectly cooked, And for first time ever I chose something different from my usual & wasn't disappointed.. The steak 🥩 & ale pie will be certainly ordered again. They is a reason why my family & I keep coming back to this cosy place, I cannot recommend it enough

Food very basic can tell it’s all frozen pretty rubbish tbf and kids pizza was a Chicago town microwave pizza won’t be going again 🤦🏻‍♂️

From start to finish this has been nothing but a truly wonderful experience. The gentleman at reception was lovely and welcoming. We walked in to an immaculately clean room (hats off to housekeeping) with a very comfortable bed :) Breakfast was wonderful, we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman with whom nothing was too much trouble. And what can I say about the grounds?! Beautifully located, well maintained and right on the park. Thank you Holmfield Arms for such a lovely stay :) we shall definitely return.

Ashame about the new menu I used to enjoy the Rib eye steak and the fajita now there not on it will be like every other greeneking .

Unfortunately very disappointed today both the food and service was not good.

Just had our wedding reception in the Marquee and I cannot sing their praises enough. From start to finish the wedding coordinators Laura and Jade have been fantastic! Cannot sing their praises enough. Value for money for a more budget friendly reception couldn't be better, the marquee is beautiful. The buffet food was delicious and generous. The staff were all incredibly friendly and polite especially the marquee bar staff, big shout out to you guys. All in all the venue couldn't have been more accommodating. Ourselves and several guests stayed at the hotel which was clean, beautifully presented and well equipped. Hotel front of house were all lovely too. And finally, Craig the DJ legend who fully embraced some of our groups alternative song choices. Book him in your package, I guarantee you there's nothing he can't work with. Thank you Holmfield cast and crew, you made our evening something to remember. 10/10 would do it all over again 😍

By far the worst service I have experienced in a pub for a very long time. Considering the size of the place, I wouldn't have considered tonight busy (it was easy to find a table), however, I queued for the best part of 20 minutes before getting served (that was just for a drink). It's absolute chaos from the staff, everyone is doing a bit of everything, except urgency. Management is nowhere to be seen

Good hotel clean and comfortable room’s friendly staff. Restaurant is a different matter. Pretty much all food is deep fried. Cooked breakfasts deep fried and oily, uneatable. Scrabbled eggs on toast served on a side plate one piece of toast on top of the other with this brown watery mess on top, once again uneatable. Have toast instead, no good either, got warm bread and gone off butter. Staff not as friendly and not fussed about the food they severed. Tried evening meal, steak and chips with side order of mushrooms. I thought I was back in London, handful of chips, oil on the steak and to top it off only four mushrooms for a pound. I asked the waitress if she had dropped some of my food on the way to my table. And the drinks were pretty much London prices, over £6 a pint of lager. The only good thing about this place is the building and the grounds. I was told the place was better before the new company took over. Would not recommend

Angela our server was lovely and attentive and made the experience great. Food at lunchtime was good. Particularly the salt and pepper squid which was delicious. Service was quick and nothing was too much trouble

My husband and I had a meal at home field arms on the 5/4/05 what a disappointment it was, salmon very dry prawns that you couldn't put your fork in think the whole meal had been in the microwave, when u told the staff she was not bothered just said I will take £6 off your bill, and that was supposed Tobe there signature dish .

Great location. Rooms are value for money very clean and tidy, the hotel receptionist was very welcoming and polite. The bar has great pricing for the location and the fact it has a hotel, usually you'll see prices bumped up. But these were very fair. The bar staff was minimal and at breakfast they seemed rushed and unatentative. I highly recommend on the whole. 👌

Great pub and hotel. The rooms are very clean and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful the breakfast is just what you want and the pub has a really good beer and wine selection.

Saturday evening just off the cuff was looking for just simple dining That is exactly what it was. Poor food, mediocre service. I found the menu limited so had to have some sort of chicken burger that came with cold fries, also cold extra portion of rings. Told waitress but she was not really interested. Guess it caters for easy diners. Recommend? No

We were a large group attending after a funeral, everything arrived together, staff were very accommodating, allowing us to get a pint in a jug to transfer to shot glasses so we could raise a toast to my late grandad with his favourite pint. Sam (not his real name due to badge issues 🙂) was helpful and friendly. Believe there was plenty of choice for one of our party who is celiac. Allowed us time and space in the conservatory. Been before as smaller parties and service was just as good despite there being a lot of us.

Food was sub-standard, frozen food warmed up, had chicken goujons for starter which was exceptable, but the main mixed grill was atrocious chicken warmed up and like leather, gammon just awful and frozen chips, but the peas was absolutely perfect. Had IPA beer which came in a glass that need renovating, it was unbelievably horrible to drink..price was good 2 course for under £12

Lovely service, cannot do enough for you, we had Angela serving us today. Lovely lady, very attentive. Food outstanding (as always) Dessert was the best sticky toffee pudding I've ever had! Cannot fault any of the experience. Will be sure to call again very soon. Thank you!

Good food and service in a nice location

We had a wonderful Sunday Roast here today! Our lovely waitress, Isabella, provided excellent service and made the experience all that more enjoyable. We would highly recommend The Homefield Arms to friends and family! Perfectly splendid.

We visited this pub for lunch and had an amazing meal service was fantastic from arrival to the drinks and the waiters who looked after us especially Reece who was very friendly and made the visit a little more special

My best friend and I had a great stay here last night. Food in the pub for both dinner and lunch was excellent. The rooms were clean, well presented and comfy. Mel served us at lunch and she was lovely. She made sure our food came quickly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you! ☺️

Appalling service. Booked a table in th bar for food and one dog. Turned up, no table and told nothing we can do. Not even an attempt of resolution. Full of excuses saying the had a reserved sign on it so don't know what happened? No tablets had reserved on it but to offer zero solution. Went elsewhere and will never be back. If I could give zero I would. Food might be ok as never got that far but service is not worth attempting another visit.

I was in town to see family and someone suggested going here for some food. I'm so glad I did! The food was amazing, such good prices and it was all so fresh. And our server Ellis was so lovely! He was on the ball, and gave amazing customer service 👏 I will definitely be returning when I'm back up to see family again in the future.

We've been a few times and it has always been nice, but the last time we went there was a funeral wake being held there, in a separate room, so not a problem. But clearly it was busy, and the service was quite slow, also not a problem. But the food was not up to scratch,I had a chicken skewer , it was tough and bland, but it was the garnish that was the problem, the lettuce was all brown and it was all the core bits that get thrown away, it was plastered in a vinegaret as to try and cover it up, the rice was nice though. Very poor presentation. I didn't complain as I had already exchanged my drink because the glass smelt awful,I didn't want them to think I was Karen. All of my party agreed with me, though most of the food looked lovely, mine was terrible.

We have been for Christmas Lunch today, while the starters were very nice the soup was lukewarm and the prawn cocktail came without sauce even though this wasn't asked for. The main meals were terrible, Rock solid vegetables, hard pastry on the pie and chips and Yorkshire pudding still frozen in the middle. The deserts were just as bad the Sundae was sour and the Christmas pudding resembled road kill, while we actually belly laughed at the state of it, I can actually say this is the worst meal we have ever had with you and we are very reluctant to come back. I've left a photo of the hilarious pudding!

Angela was our server today. She was really welcoming, polite and helpful. She had an inviting smile on her face whilst serving us and clearing/serving the surrounding tables.

It's not great, but it passes if you are really hungry. We didn't stay at the venue just dined at lunchtime.

I had my wedding at the holmfield arm in 2018. They were amazing and we had a brilliant day. It has a good outdoor play area for the kids. Sunday dinner is gorgeous. The katsu curry is lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Great Customer service. We booked on Black Friday, great deal £75 for one night bed and breakfast, which is refundable up until the day before (check website on that) Cheaper than Premier Inn, which is £100+ non refundable (unless you choose more expensive options). The food was better than the premier inn down the road. The restaurant is very nice. Refurbished recently and they have done a good job. Only fault is that they do not have a lift so for an accessible room, you only have the bottom floor as an option.

Booked a table for family of 7 the Sunday before the new year. A really lovely pub impressed with the layout tables well speced. Good service with friendly staff. The food was very good, we will definitely go again. Large outside area kids play area lots of parking space.

I became a regular at this establishment during a week working locally. The food was very good, the beer was good and the staff were excellent.

Went last night had what supposed to be grilled hunters chicken wow highly disappointed. Chips cold onion rings cold and the chicken was luke warm. All of our food was cold or luke warm .

From a friendly welcome, first class bar service and a cheerful server the visit was flawless. Special requests with drinks were not a problem. Food was ordered and delivered to the right people in the party. The meal and deserts were presented and cooked to a higher than expected standard. Paying was effortless, with a warm thanks for our company in the venue.

We have a work outing and i jad bought gift vouchers the employees were very helpful in taking our orders even though they were busy

My 1st time at this pub came for my works Xmas party, my food was served cold and the cheesecake was that hard it was difficult to get spoon through. Was not worth the money I paid. Wouldn't visit again .

Just been for festive Christmas menu.saturday 14th December food was nice but we felt rushed table booked for 530 we arrived at 5 sat straight down we had out starter and meal before 6.

Service in the hotel is great, receptionist welcoming and helpful. Bar staff, not enough of them (5 people waiting one bar staff serving) and not well trained. Not a clue who is where in the queue even if there is only 4 people stood there!

All good ,wine overpriced for quality

We stayed at Holmfield Arms on Friday night the rooms were very clean and well presented and the reception staff were very helpful, we went round to the bar and it was very busy a couple of Christmas parties going but on we were served quite quick and the staff were very pleasant, we ordered food at 8.15 and it was with use in less than ten minutes we all enjoyed it across the table everyone was happy, with the deal we got at the hotel included breakfast which was very good. All piping hot and plenty of it ! See you in march👍

Decent pub grub, good service and nice location

We were a large party of near 40 and the restaurant was able to accommodate this as we ordered in advance. The food all came out as near at once as possible given so many plates and staff were great. Thank you to Kevin and all the staff who helped bring out the food etc.

Ellis was a brilliant server, very on hand considering we were quite demanding and he was a good laugh!

Ellis has been a star tonight. Very busy evening and was still attentive. 10/10.

Great green king pub in lovely grounds. Few times I've ate here for lunch and dinner has always been great and very reasonably priced. Can get busy but easy to book online.

Pre booked meal for the family on route to a theatre production in Wakefield City centre. Choosen as one of the party requires a gluten free choice. We received excellent service, everyone enjoyed their meal. Reasonably priced. Nice decor and outside surrounding's -would be lovely for a summer evening. Plenty of parking spaces. Would definitely call again if in the area.

5 of us went for lunch, waitress was very attentive, food was lovely. We went on a Monday lunchtime and the restaurant was very busy so I would advise booking beforehand.

This is a lovely hotel pub in the middle of Wakefield Park. Very quiet if staying in the hotel yet only a 15 minutes walk 5 minutes taxi from the busy nightlife and city centre. We called for Sunday lunch, in the pub restaurant. Seated immediately with no wait. Lovely seat by the window overlooking the large garden and outdoor playground. Fantastic for children. Everything was table service on the day. A good selection of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. The service provided was excellent and the Sunday roast was beautiful. Very quick service and an overall 5* experience. Highly recommend.

We went for Sunday lunch. The food was served very quickly, maybe within 10 minutes of ordering. The beef was extremely over cooked. The Camembert was very good though. Nice ambiance, quite modern. There was fires on, which was lovely. Nice spot

The service and food was outstanding. In particular, Isabella was a lovely waitress. She had a laugh and a joke and really seemed to enjoy her work. She interacted with us in a lovely friendly manner. She is an absolute credit to the company.

I cannot say anything about the rooms as I have not stayed in them but I'm sure they are lovely. This is the second time I have frequented this establishment and it really is my new favorite place!! The staff are amazing (honestly nothing is too much) the food is lovely and the tribute acts we have seen (Neil Diamond and Elvis) were fantastic. I must give a shout out to our server Ellis as he made our evening. Thank you Ellis, you went above and beyond :) 😀

Had an amazing evening for my partners birthday and one staff member who really stood out with her amazing customer service skills is paige she really went above and beyond to make our evening extra special and made us feel so very welcome and comfortable. Parking is not very disabled friendly. Food was delicious. Staff were very busy handling a wedding reception there, so they were not very attentive to other diners. We didn't stay over, we just went for lunch.

We went with our extended family to this pub. As a collective there are a lot of allergies and dietary requirements which is always difficult to cater for, however these guys were excellent. Had clearly been very well trained on dealing with different allergies and were more than happy to help. The kids loved the play area and were happy to be running back and forth. The staff were friendly and brought the drinks to table so that we didn’t have to wait around for pints topping up as they could see we had a few kids with us. Location wise this is great. You can happy stroll out into Thornes Park which has gardens, duck pond, skate park and another play park.

Utterly shambolic booking experience. Tried to book on the phone but could not get anyone to answer so ended up booking on line for 10 people. Was told someone would get back to me within 24 hrs to confirm the booking but no one did. Then 2 days later I called at 9pm at night and managed to speak to someone and secure a booking on Sunday 2pm for 10. Two days later I get an email confirming Sunday 1.30pm for 10 despite booking for 2pm. Called the Holmfield arms and spoke to someone who advised the booking was for 1.30pm. I said I’d booked it for 2pm. She then rings me back to confirm 2pm. Within minutes I get an email confirming 2pm for 10 people and within less than a minute receive another email confirming the 2pm booking was cancelled. I called yet again to be assured the booking was for 2pm for 10 people. On the Sunday, the day we were going, I get an email saying I have a booking at 2pm but only for 9 people now. Beyond appalling experience. On the day it took over 2 hours to be served starters and lunch. Appreciate it was Sunday and busy but still a long wait. Food was good when it arrived but overall I don’t think we will be going to the Holmfield Arms again.

So i have only gave 3 stars instead of 5 because , I came in on the Saturday and me and my kids and my cousin ate and it was lovely food and big portions , because I was impressed , I returned today on the Sunday and I was just so disappointed I got a trio of roast Sunday dinner , and when it came it looked like a child's portion and I was left feeling hungry and disappointed it had 1 carrot 1 piece of broccoli 1 roast potatoe 1 of each meat and a Yorkshire pudding but honestly my kids eat more than the portion I was given it was just so small and like I said I was left feeling hungry and felt like I had been robbed
