The food was amazing, the steak I had literally came sizzling out of the kitchen. The burger was very nice, a good 9/10, however there was too much burger sauce. The pudding was beautiful, some of the best I’ve had. I did rate the atmosphere a bit lower because the time we went at was very quiet, which was nice because food came fast. Definitely recommend the brownie.

celebrated a birthday. ordered 4 different dishes, everyone was delighted, average price £15, includes vegetables and a side dish, original presentation of dishes. I kiss the chef's hands, it's so delicious, I haven't eaten for a long time, I recommend this place to everyone.

Gammon steak was cooked to perfection 👌. The service was excellent and we were well impressed. Well done to all the staff on duty... sorry I forgot to get your names. I will be back for sure

We had a lovely meal, served to us by Sienna who was extremely friendly and thoughtful.

I've been here a few times now, and I can honestly say the food just seems to get better every time, great service and friendly staff. i would recommend the Big beef beef burger and the philly steak. Both meals were really good

Just had the mixed grill. Absolutely fantastic it was. Topped off with the fantastic profiteroles for dessert. Chef was Jade who cooked the food to perfection and served by Tristein who was brilliant and made us feel very welcome. He is Australian which I won't mark him down for it 😂. Only joking mate! Well done to The Sun Inn. Brilliant.

Shocking food ordered 3 small plates one didn't arrive until questioned then came once we had all finished one person didn't get onion rings that was part of the meal again arrived when everyone had finished to finish us off 2 deserts of profiteroles came frozen solid . One person running the bar I felt so sorry for him as run ragged and saw only one girl serving. Apart from the company awful night won't be in a rush to go back

Amazing food as always, the staff go over and above to make your visit enjoyable. Fantastic service from Rachel and danny. New menu with a wide range to pick from. Two main meals for £12 and kids eat for a £1 absolute bargain. Won't go anywhere else

It’s a lovely pub, relaxed atmosphere. The food was lovely, ordered through the app which was easy. Didn’t take long to say there was 6 of us. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Can’t honestly say there’s anything that needs to be done to improve the experience I had here, it was perfect

The food here is always first class and the staff are friendly and courteous. Our server Karen was excellent and the Chefs Scott and Stephen are outstanding.

Firstly the staff were really welcoming, very friendly and on hand throughout which always goes a long way for me then the food was absolutely perfect so compliments to the chef. Value for money is exceptional here. I will definitely be returning thoroughly enjoyed my experience last night.

Came today for food and couple drinks with family. My nephew had a burger he was eating it. 10 mins later we’ll still eating the burger said he didn’t feel well. I said to the manager it’s not right this burger. He replied saying the burger is fine food poisoning don’t come on that fast. I said how would you know that everyone body is different. Told me if I didn’t like it to leave the pub. What sort of manager do you have here.

Disgusting behaviour! Visited here tonight Friday 17th January for my father's birthday meal we drove from barnsley because my mother and father has been before and recommends it. Everything was great, they was an hour wait for food but didn't bother us as we was there with family for a birthday meal. My wife ordered a curry with a side of rice when the food arrived they was no rice but they was chips, we politely noted the staff, they didn't have a problem and said the rice will be out shortly. The person serving our food called Tristan brought the rice over to my wife held it away and confrontationally said " who is this rice for" my wife politely responded that it was for her, he replied with "you've got chips" while still holding the rice away, my wife responded with " I didn't order them " in which he replied questioning her in a horrible manor "are you sure" my wife again politely responded so he eventually put the rice down and stormed off, he came over to our table very rude and very confrontational all of our table thought the same and a table across from us noticed his behaviour also. A couple of minutes later my wife visited the bathroom with our son and on her way she saw and heard Tristan kicking off to another staff member about the customer with the bowl of rice. The issue wasn't the rice it was how he came over with this type of behaviour, confronting, questioning etc. It made us all feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable so we left mid way through our meal and asked for our birthday cake for my father back from under the counter as the night had been ruined by how he treat us and spoke to us and decided to call it a night and left never to return again. I have since had a look on the Google reviews and there is plenty commenting on the behaviour of the staff. A member of staff Liam came over after seeing the situation unfold while we was getting ready to leave, he noticed the food had been left because of the situation and kindly refunded us for the meal, Liam was great in solving the situation for us and was very understanding, I can only hope Tristan learns from Liams customer service. Myself and all of my family members will never be returning.

My wife had tandoori chicken on a bed of sizzling vegetables, which is highly recommended. Personally I had The Greek beef burger which I also enjoyed. The food was excellent. Carole was our server, very friendly and helpful. You can tell she's very experienced and seems to love her job. It is worth downloading the Sizzling app for collecting stamps for freebies. Also, we had 25% off main meals with Octopus Energy, so that's a plus. We'll definitely be going back. It's a popular place for sure. We were surprised just how busy it became whilst we were there

First time we've been dissapointed 6of us in total 3 wanted steaks there was only 1 5oz steak left informed after we had ordered & sat down

Regular visitor now, food always good. Service from Liam and Brooke is exceptional. Really friendly, cheerful and helpful. Always go the extra mile. Plenty of seating outdoors too, lovely when it's a nice day. Gets busy when the Sizzler offers are on, so go early to avoid disappointment. Definitely download the app, great offers. Order at the bar though, as app orders don't always seem to correctly apply the discounts or collect the loyalty rewards.

Just had our first visit to The Sun and will be returning, Food was lovely, staff were very friendly and polite.very clean and tidy too. Would like to just shout out to the young man who was running food, Very welcoming and asking my little one if she'd like crayons to colour. We visited on 11th September between 7 and 8:45pm

Food is OK but there is no atmosphere in the place on a night, and few people in hence last orders at 9.30

Went here for a family meal and it was a lovely experience as always. Carole greated us at the bar with a warm smile and took the time to chat to my children. The food was delicious and came out without much of a wait. The chef was Jack. Will recommend the Sun to other friends and family members.

The service is always excellent and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is really good value, well cooked and tasty. New items are always being added and they do have some really good vegetarian dishes too. We have a picky eater and this time she had the Mac and cheese which she declared was heavenly! Will be going again soon.

I have been a customer here for years and have never been as disappointed as I was today!! I am so disappointed, this would never have happened when Natalie was in charge!! I placed my order as normal at the till and the young lady repeated back to me what I had asked for. When our meals arrived the ‘new manager’ advised “classic burger” to which I said no sorry .. we didn’t order that. He then told me that this IS what I ordered and we could either accept it or go to the till to pay the extra charge for the bacon on the burger.. I calmly told him that this was not my mistake, and I would like what I asked for! He was extremely arrogant and insisted that this WAS what I ordered. My son really wanted what he asked for so I went up to pay the extra and he spun the screen around to show me the order! I told him again that I hadn’t ordered that and the young lady checked my order with me before I paid, so there has been a mistake somewhere.. He remained arrogant and so I just paid the extra. My son’s burger came back and was absolutely drenched in bbq sauce, so he could not eat it. We then went to the till to order something else (and pay for it!!) and the arrogant manager told me there was none left ‘sorry!’ My son left hungry, we left disappointed and for the first time EVER we didn’t bother with pudding! Never once have I EVER complained and I go to this pub to eat with my family once a month minimum.. but after today’s experience I won’t be back!

Friendly staff and nice local tea at a good price. Lighting was slightly dull in certain areas where it is difficult to read the menu but it would not stop me returning, I would possibly ask for an alternative table in the window but on our recent visit these were taken.

AVOID..AVOID…AVOID I was completely horrified at how rude the staff and especially the management spoke to me and my small group of friends regarding our drinks order. The management then tried accusing us of being rude when we asked them to stop being rude to us. They then said they had CCTV footage of us and our behaviour. I told them to watch it and they would see we had done nothing wrong but who do they think they are recording us??? We did nothing wrong and what an awful feeling knowing you are being watched whilst eating and having a quiet drink for anyone who enters this establishment.

Lovely place. Food was way better than we expected. Dog friendly, serves Guinness 0.0. Couldn't ask for more.

Was a lovely visit today; there's music playing but it's not overpowering, the staff are polite and friendly, and the food was beautiful.

Cheap and cheerful food, servers were really friendly. Fish and chips was abit bland/tasteless but the chicken buttermilk was really nice. Kids food I would suggest not covering the plate in beans where it touches the rest of the food as most kids wouldn't like this.
