Nando's Castleford in Wakefield

I’m a regular at Nando’s and make it a point to visit various locations across the UK whenever I can. One of the things I love about Nando’s is the consistent quality. Today, I visited this branch (table 21) and ordered a whole chicken to share. While the food was generally warm, it wasn’t served hot. I did ask for the piri chips to be replaced, which the waiter kindly did, but in hindsight, the chicken was also warm, which affected its usual great flavour (its almost cold temperature changed the dining experience). I trust Nando’s for its consistency, but this experience has left me questioning whether I’d return to this location. The staff were lovely and did everything right, but I felt like I didn’t get the value I usually expect.

Extremely busy - and we had been delayed for over an hour on the Motorway. The young lady packing collection orders had ended up getting quite stressed with a complex order that had an issue. As a result my order was a couple of minutes late. Her apology was so genuine that I was really impressed.

Turned up as doors were opening.,.food was still all over the tables from night before. Likewise with the floor. Underneath the chefs counter was chips and chicken . Not good !!!

I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t even get to order. None of our family like the spicy sauces but we loved the peri tamer unfortunately they didn’t have it so had to leave

Really nice food and really good service from the waiter Vanessa. She made the complicated ordering process simple and overall made our first nandos experience memorable, will be coming back.

Disappointing visit alot of food on the floor, knives and forks covered in food I had to pick through the pot in the end I asked for clean knives the staff member put them in the pot for me to go through and pick out the clean ones again, very poor need to get the basics right!!. This put me off eating my meal and spoilt my trip. Food was OK tasty slaw.

Probably the worst Nandos I have had! Arrived at 2.45pm ish, LOADS of grubby/uncleared tables. Sat down, ordered very quickly at the till, some items unavailable. Food arrived quickly but some elements were cold - we were in a rush so just cracked on. Food ok - salad was pretty brown. Toilets a mess and unclean. Gahhhhh. We love Nandos but this was grim and felt like a waste of a meal out.

Visited here the other day with a party of 5 of us. A 20 minute wait though, however it was busy. Once ordered though, the food was delicious, and definitely worth the wait. The order didn't take long at all to reach our table. On top of it all, 20% discount was also accepted through NHS discount. Would recommend.

Na na na na na na na na hey hey hey nandos! My friend Andy Ankle absolutely demolished his extra extra hot chicken breats in practically a millisecond. bro is a human hoover . Loved my garlic bread and peri chips, solid scran. Give everyone a raise and I will come back with andy and his extended family. They all love nandos and would pay your bills for a year with their single visit. Love! xx

Went today me n my husband the staff was poor n service hurendus had lunch staff rude n was to busy talking manager rude n smarmy cos i had my say dint get food we orderd was cold n the place was filthy dead flies all over ledges near us needs a good clean safe to say we wont be back bad customer service left really angry manger very clever n rude 🙈😡😡

Food was delivered quickly….but only Luke warm!

Food was nice,customer service non-existent,in fact worse than non-existent,just horrendous. Table staff need to be re-trained on not to disturb customers when their eating.

From someone who is eating here often,you could do with some training on the quality of costumer service in this location. The waiting on tables girl from today 02.07.2024 needs to know that her job doesn't entitle her to belittles us. Change the setup or put some sense in your staff. Waiting gets horrendous and we are treated like beggers not clients. The girl needs to drop the attitude, it is the clients who pays her wage.

I've only ever taken away at this store on 4 occasions & all have been a huge let down, food was cold, service was poor & they forgot my cream for my cake on twice. I always think if I try it on a different day it will be better but it's not! £25+ for my order that is below adequate, definitely not worth it. Homemade nandos it is!

We have been here a few times, always have the chicken sharing platter and it didn't disappoint. Good, friendly service.

Great atmosphere, great food and great staff! There was a little wait between ordering and getting our food but with the amount of people in the restaurant, it’s completely understandable!! I would suggest allowing bookings of any amount though, as it was busy and I tried to book a table earlier in the day to celebrate a milestone.

Wasn’t able to leave a review in the app but just wanted to say thank you to Lilia. Had a slight issue with the burger but she was lovely and helpful! Great asset to the team :)

The restaurant is always busy but wait time never usually exceeds 20 minutes which is great. Staff always happy and helpful - Niall always goes above and beyond to look after the guests when he's in. Top man. Love the new churasco flavour- sensational.

Oh my!, my son and I have been living in Pontefract for the past two years and we love our Nandos. 😁I just want to applaud everyone from Nandos Castleford, for their excellent service and tolerance of me and my son. We are fussy we don’t like our chicken black and each time it was served like that, I would call for a replacement which the stuff was happy to provide with a smile on their faces. Keep it up guys , and thank you for your great service, Em, Ellie, Bethany, Harrison, and the rest of the team, sorry I forgot your names but you are all wonderful. + As always, nice food - dirty/greasy chairs/seats, torn cushions etc and food on the floor. Plenty of staff but no one cleaning the chairs or floors. Given a drink with food on the side that clearly wasn't washed after the last person used it, gross 🤢

Never normally leave a bad review but feel like I have to share this. Visited with my partner and 2 young children. I ordered our food and asked for the receipt just as I like to check its right as we are a bit picky! The lady hesitated to give me m receipt. Then she finally gave me it and apologised saying she’s over charged me and charged me for another drink by accident. Of course I understand mistakes happen we’re only human but she wasn’t going to tell me she had overcharged me if I didn’t ask for my receipt which makes me wonder how many people are they doing this to?

Nice food just lacks that cozy vibe.

I eat at Nandos almost every day and two or three times a week. This location is not open at 11:30 AM when they should be open. I’m literally standing here for 30 minutes with a group of people until they open at noon because they were improperly prepared…..

Chicken dry, either spicy like it was coming from the depths of hell or completely bland, staff looking at you like you were some sort of terrorist, the walk around like zombies

When we eventually got what we had ordered the food was good but the staff attitude was very poor to the point of couldn't care less. Is this a management issue?

Waiting 55 minutes on some chips what a joke

We were on our way back home to Cambridge having just completed the Manchester Marathon in need of some good grub. Nandos did not disappoint. On top of being sufficiently satiated the customer service we received from Niall was outstanding. He was warm, welcoming, friendly and made our evening at Nandos incredibly enjoyable. Thank you Niall!

We received a chicken wrap with crispy fries through deliveroo when it arrived it was cold crispy fries were soft and the wrap was awful it wasn’t what was advertised on the website chicken was a thigh cut in half very poor quality and over cooked I have tried to complain but I’m getting shoved from pillar to post by the people dealing with this matter I will NEVER order from the castleford shop again waste of money

We were told it would be 15 minutes until we were seated as it was busy, we were sat down within 5, food ordered and at the table in a surprisingly quick time. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, all cooked perfectly. When our starters arrived we were asked whether we wanted our mains at the same time to which we obliged. To our shock they arrived straight away, which concerns me as to whether they would have just been sat on the hot plate going dry until we had finished our starters if we had chose otherwise. Other than that lovely meal night out.

A decent Nandos but 'could do with a good wash' as the saying goes. Wasn't exactly clean with lots of stuff on the floor, and it's quiet, so I'm not sure why. Also, I didn't get my starter until after my main had arrived, so that's not great. The staff were friendly and worked to resolve the matter.

Food was cold, and the chips tasted like old oil. Drinks and ice machine were out of service. Cutlery and glasses were dirty. Staff were nice and helpful

Lovely Nandos, as with all Nandos, good food, clean and good service.

The food was below their usual standards. The chicken was returned twice and still came back cold. As well as halomi and garlic bread not cooked enough. Offering to reheat the chicken a third time was the final straw. Please note I have regularly used nandos over the past ten plus years. The haloumi and garlic bread are new suppliers but still we're neither toasted or grilled properly.

Terrible place. They ignore drivers who are waiting outside for orders. They waited for ours food 🤔

Meal was perfect . Just a pity we had to wait 40 mins to get seated. Even when there was tables empty and staff just waĺking about .

Went there with my wife, daughter, and grandaughter age 5. Got there around 6.30ish and the assistant said about a 20 min wait, was very busy. My wife noticed a chicken sat under a counter? Don't know if it was keeping warm but didn't look very appetising and instantly put my wife off!!! When we were seated my granddaughter needed the toilet so my wife took her up to the ladies. When my wife came back to the table she was disgusted. She told me that the ladies were absolutely filthy, the first toilet had clearly been used and not flushed and the next toilet was literally full of toilet tissue and was full of urine up to the brim..... My wife wouldn't let our gradaughter touch anything!! My daughter went to get cutlery but they were no knives! After asking an assistant she told us they were dirty and needed a second clean but when we got them they were still marks on from the dishwasher.. when the assistant cleaned the table next to us there was good and also cleaner that fired on yo our table. This was our first time at this nandos and will definitely our last.... avoid at all cost

Disgusting dirty table wrong food sent skin left on chicken.Then brought the right food when we where leaving.The disabled tiolet was filthy one of the male staff members came out wiping his hands on his apron then went back in the kitchen.There was dirt and empty yogurt pots on the floor it was chaotic food just thrown on a plate never again.

The best food in the whole area in my opinion. Slightly pricey but I pay because it’s the best 👍

Visited as usual for a quick bite for standard nandos good food. Sadly, stomach cramps and the dreaded runs were the order of the evening after partaking of the sunset burger and wings. Not the best from nandos sadly, usual great service and atmosphere but maybe avoid this outlet.

Nando's is Nando's..if you like chicken your in the right place. Good food, friendly and helpful staff. Only 4 stars sadly because they don't serve coffee... But would definitely go again.

Dealt with our hairy situation promptly, puts you off wanting to eat the rest of your food, after finding numerous in one sitting. Otherwise, as mentioned, staff were attentive and dealt with the issue well, so cannot fault the service. Only the food quality was piss poor on this occasion

Consistently let down by the standard of cooking here, whether delivered or dining in. Cold sides, and chicken with the skin undercooked and under-marinaded is a common theme. I love Nandos usually, and I'm not particularly fussy, but it's shocking how poor it is here. Will be making the trip to Thorpe Park Nandos in the future.

I visited Nando's castleford a couple of weeks back. We went for a meal before adventuring escape. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and the server asked if we had any allergies, my partner has an egg allergy. The server was very useful for this and made sure our food was right. When we were sat, we were sat on a table of two which for me was too much in a corner and felt a bit cramped, considering there was another table of two really close next to us. Service was a bit chaotic however I feel this was because they were under staffed. It got quite busy and at one point there was a server on break and a server on the floor. I felt really bad for the team. The food however was amazing, I had the spicy rice which I love everytime I go to a nandos. The sauces were rich and spicy enough and all the chicken and food were cooked perfectly. I would go again however I feel like it would make my experience better if they had enough team on

Great chicken. After all that's what it's all about. But they had no salad at 5.30pm, come on, Asda is 5mins from you, use some initiative. The staff were wearing very dirty and grubby uniforms. They all looked like they could of done with a good wash. The place is abit tatty in places too.

Oh my goodness, where do I start? I have lots of respect and administration for the staff and everyone else at Nando’s Castleford. They have been brilliant with their service. My son and I feel like a part of the team now as they know us and our needs. Each time our food is burnt , they are always happy to replace or give a refund. The smiles on their faces , priceless. I cant thank them enough, great team 👍👍👍😁😁😁😁

Horrible. You are not served at all, cant order at the table, unless you go online via a commercial app or website. Its a self service fastfood. They think covid is still on or so. You are not seen here as a gast, staff walks around empty handed. Could be so much better if they would understand the concept of service and hospitality.

Got the best service from Grace, what a star! I see why she’s got the position she’s got would recommend everyday !!!!!! Definitely coming back.

The plates and glasses were dirty. We asked for clean plates, but the replacement plates were also dirty. My wings were underdone, took them home, and put them in the oven to cook.

We had a day out with the kids at the Gravity centre. The staff were really helpful and service was very good. We made to separate orders as we were waiting for one of the children to return from the cinema. The staff saw that we had placed two orders and made sure the meals came out together. Really good from the staff with great attention to detail. It was also a very good meal and we all enjoyed.

First time at a Nandos and the staff were very polite and took me through the whole process. The food came out and was very nice. Good bottomless drinks, choice of additional sauces to try the heat levels and the atmosphere was good. It was very busy on a bank holiday weekend but we were seating quicker than they told us. We would go again.

Very busy, we didn't book so had to wait 15 minutes for a table so not too long really. Service was good and the food spot on. My first time, but I'll be going again.

Went for lunch with a lady I was supporting. Amazing customer service from all lunch staff 14/4/2023 very polite and patient.

Where is the rest of the cake Nando's? Usually receive a slab, not the crumbage. Had takeaway slabs bigger from other Nando's, not impressed.

Can't really fault nandos at xscape. I never expected much from a big chain food place but I was so surprised when trying this one. The food was consistently warm and quick to be made, despite it being a busy evening when I visited. What makes it stand out from the rest though is the staff serving you. A young lad and lass both were so pleasant and kind when dealing with you. They asked how you are, how your meal was, they kept walking around so they're always available. They were just a great team of staff to deal with. Would return to this branch just for that reason!

Nandos, this visit was okish!! The restaurant was just opening at 11.30 for first service, so i thought it would be super clean and en pointe!?? We were not that impressed ... chicken and cold chips, dirty glasses, dirty table, and then very dirty toilets. It was very busy, but there was a plentiful supply of staff, so really unexpected to find flaws in Nandos!

Forgot to make my cousin order had to wait around 30-40 minutes till arrived

So the place has been refurbished but doesn't feel any better for it, service was quick but wow the food was horrible had a share platter for 2 and a kids meal, not going to lie our 2 year old had more food on her plate than ours, Had a 1forall card to use as it was a gift but they system wasn't set up yet to accept them, Wasn't impressed at all best part of £50 wasted

Over priced and small portions £8 for a rap and Mc Donald's are better. Don't get me wrong I love good food but they did not provide it.

Nandos is tasty whereever you go, however I wanted my corn on the cob burnt, had to be sent back. When it came back only a little was burnt even though I asked for it to be extra burnt. Service was spot on she did her very best, despite giving me the wrong order.

Like this Nandos, despite being busy, the wait is never long. I visited today and saw notice it will be closing on the 9th of October. Not sure why, but I really would miss my local Nandos if this turns out to be true

Its Nandos. I mean what else can i say really? It's always nice food. The staff was as helpful as they could be with it being a saturday night. Very busy, but didn't rush you out the door which is normally the case when a place is heaving. You want nandos? You could do a lot worse than going to this one.

Miserable/rude staff apart from the woman who showed us to our table, she was happy and polite. The portions were very small for the price. The fries were nice, the vegan burger was alright but expensive for the lack of quality.

Had to clean down our seats and table on this visit to nandos, my wife's food was ok but the impersonater chicken she had was more like a sausage and put her off a bit. My chicken livers tasted microwaved much to my disgust. I have chicken livers at every nandos and must have eaten them over 50 times but this place is the only time they've tasted microwaved. Staff were great and rest of the food was fine. Thank you.

Looks like staff don't like wiping anything down old food on table,seats,menu,glasses everywhere was grubby.

Not so great on this visit. Their chicken was a bit too dry for my liking
