Fantastic venue. Food and service superb. Can't wait to visit again. Outstanding.

Never tried this place before.. probably due to the fact we went to the one at Batley a long time ago which was terrible! The difference between the two is like night & day! Ok it was quiet but the service was superb. Food fantastic, couldn’t fault one thing 👌🏼

The food is mediocre. You can't trust their labeling of allergens. Not many vegan options. They tried to scam us out of £200, and made us wait around 20 minutes while we went through the bill item by item, having been very pushy for us to just pay and leave without checking.

The waiter spilled soft drinks on my mother and instead of apology the manger said “accident happens “ that attitude was enough to put me off it ruined the whole experience also service was so poor and slow food was not good when we asked for switch the music off they refused and refused to offer us a place to pray Very bad experience it ruined my day I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

This was the worst meal I have had from Lala's, cold chips, watery Veg Makhani, I ordered 2 Makhani so I could have one another night, wasted money! One Makhani was wrapped in foil the other wasn't, why?

Visited on Friday for the first time and wow! The food was fantastic, great flavour and perfect portion sizes. The staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough for us. It was my brothers birthday and they kindly gave him a birthday cake and sang to him which was a lovely gesture. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Indian food. Will definitely be going back! I don’t usually comment on reviews but after having a look at one review in particular of the party of 16 who were a few tables down from us they did come across fairly rude, as they left they refused to pay and claimed they were overcharged and didn’t bother mentioning their issue to the manager as you should so it could be resolved. The manager and staff were brilliant coming around to our tables to check everyone was happy with their food and service.

Party of 16 ppl been tonight for my 50th birthday. Poppadoms (yesterday's) not fresh n crisp. No hand wipes/chocs given to any of us after meal... usually do! Paying for bill at end man was rude n think we been over charged.. not happy with service at all tonight n we come alot for special dates. dont think we will be coming again. Shame as food nice.

We went to lalas on 6th April for my wife’s birthday.the whole night from start to finish was spot on. The staff were first class,nothing was too much trouble and so was the food.we arrived at 7.30 and was the last to leave,brilliant night and lastly just like to thank the manager for all the hospitality we received last night.keep up the good work lalas we will definitely be back soon

I loved learning about the culinary art that is developed there. The variety is excellent. The service is exquisite and the mystical flavors are interesting.

Used many many times are always been spot on however I ordered on the 12th Feb, the food was inedable and thrown away. Due to the delay in delivery times was too late for more food to be delivered therefore we agreed to a refund of £25.30 however still not received. Lost a very regular customer due to such poor service.

Went to this great Indian restaurant last night. There were 14 of us (we were all working at the Theatre Royal next door). I had booked a table for us all at 10.00pm as the show finishes at 9.40. Th staff and manager were so accommodating, all of our food arrived at the same time and every one enjoyed their dish. The menu is not run of the mill high street Indian, yes, there are the old favourites on the menu, but there are a lot of dishes I have never seen before. I went for the Karahi Gost, chicken in a rich sauce with spices. It was wonderful. The naan breads are massive and brought to you on a vertical stand. On top of this the price of the various dishes are so reasonable (compared to London where most of us come from). Excellent well cooked food and great service. It's a must !!!

The food is the best for miles. I’ve dined and also take out. When you have a takeaway that’s nearly as good a being inside then you know you have a great place. I’ve only ever had the chicken tikka balti here and don’t want to change it yet. The family garlic naan is a beaut too. My only criticism is the lighting is too bright and decor too modern for me. I like my restaurants to be authentic looking and/or a bit quirky. This doesn’t take away the amazing food though. A real success story

This was without a doubt the worst meal I’ve ever had in my life and ended up with stage 2 salmonella. Ended up in hospital on a drip and had no response from the restaurant if I could I would give this place a minus score. People of Yorkshire if you like your life do not eat from here

First time at the Wakefield Lala’s, probably the best lala’s I’ve had. Service , food atmosphere was fantastic. A well run curry house. Great to see SAV, he’s fantastic at his job and absolutely credit to Lala’s. After many years of going to batley Lala’s this is probably the best one. Batley has just slowly gone down hill and missed all the great people who worked and left over the years. The guy who runs it with the blue shirt at Wakefield definitely knows how to run a smooth restaurant. Very nice man. Definitely be back was Amazing. Great fish masala. Lovely evening to finish off 2023.

Visited restaurant unexpectedly and without a booking and although we could clearly see the place was very busy and not many spare tables we were greeted by Waj and the team with smiles and made welcome. Quickly a table was found prepared for us and a drinks and poppadoms order was served to the table. A lovely evening was enjoyed by all with fabulous food and great service from all the staff. Thanks Lalas for a evening to remember.

As a true lover of the hotter curries I ordered a vindaloo having my expectations heightened by a choice of medium or hot. In good time service delivered all good food which was exceptional as was the attitude and attentiveness of all staff however, whilst my curry was flavorful and well balanced even presented as preferred with smaller cuts of meat that heat we thrive on was but a 6/10. Nevertheless, we will endeavour to visit again when next in Wakefield although a request for a phall might be required to reach the desired 10/10! Well done good people, thank you for taking care to honour our mother also. Respect, humble Scousers.

We had Christmas lunch at Lala’s. It was busy when we arrived (12noon), but very well organised and we were soon seated. We had a great waiter and all staff were lovely and very attentive. We couldn’t fault the food - everything was lovely. We’ll definitely be back!

I came for a meal for one of my work friends leaving Dos this week and the food was amazing, I’ve never had a chicken makhani better from any other Indian this is a must try!!!😍 and the staff were so friendly, they couldn’t do more for you!

Absolutely beautiful food, couldn’t fault it. Service was great we had Kiran as our waitress who was lovely and very knowledgeable. Only suggestion would be in busy times not to rush customers and open the champagne for them. Otherwise we would eat there every week if we lived nearer. Would love a restaurant nearer the Lakes, excellent food!

A large group of us attended from work to celebrate a colleagues retirement. The food and atmosphere was lovely and the service and friendliness from AJ and Saf were brilliant 👏

I had high hopes for Lala's considering its prime location on Westgate, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. We visited on a Tuesday evening with a group of friends, and several aspects left us disappointed. Firstly, our table was set with plates and cutlery that hadn't been cleaned properly. The laminated menus were sticky and could have benefited from a wipe down. Our initial drinks order was forgotten, and we had to remind a waiter to bring them over. The service seemed rushed and uninterested. Of the curries we ordered, only one was enjoyed by our table. I would strongly advise against the Vensi unless you enjoy curries that taste like salad cream. On a positive note, the side dishes we ordered were decent. The pilau rice had a nice flavour with cardamom, and the family naan breads were impressive and good value for sharing. However, the experience was also marred by the state of the bathroom, which needs attention. Wobbly taps, missing toilet seats, and other issues were evident. In conclusion, while Lala's has some redeeming qualities in its side dishes, the overall experience leaves much to be desired. This place could greatly benefit from some TLC to address cleanliness, service, and facilities issues.

The food was phenomenal but the service was terrible. We had poppadoms then 30 minutes after we had eaten these we had to ask if someone could take our starter order. The same happened with the mains except when they brought the mains out we had to ask to have the tables cleared so we could put the food down. We went in for a 21.30 booking and finished our meal at 01.15. As I said brilliant food but really bad service. We will go back but the service needs to improve.

Review for takeaway: quick delivery and large portions however the quality and taste of food is shocking for the prices. Also ended up with food poisoning and really unwell. Won’t be ordering any time soon

Went there for a work Christmas Dinner (as well as 3 leaving dos in one). Main course was okay, if a little bland buy loved the starter (we had a set menu).

We had a great meal here last night. The food was great, fresh and tasty. The naans are huge and perfect to share. AJ and Mr Khan were really friendly and went out of their way to ensure we were happy.
