Stayed in staithes for a few days,called in for meal. Food was amazing. Steak pie,and the BEST chips ever. Place a little dated,needs refurb,tellys playing bloody football just like every other pub.!! When you come to places like staithes,you want nice old style pubs to relax, if you want football,stay at home . .

Delightful stay. Cameron provides such a warm welcome and the breakfast was delicious. The room was warm, cosy and very clean with a super comfortable bed. The breakfast room and snug are lovely. The location, in the very heart of Staithes is great too. A wonderful time, thank you.

Really lovely hotel, in a super gorgeous setting. For it to really live up to the price point, I would expect the ‘little things’ to be covered i.e., better stocked amenities in the bathroom and more water in the rooms. Everyone working at the hotel were super sweet and friendly, but you could, at times, tell that this is a newly opened hotel still finding its feet.

Called in spur of the moment for Sunday Lunch. Friendly accommodating staff . Lunch was delicious. Proper crispy roast potatoes and delicious gravy. Will definitely call again when we are in the area.

Hermosa comida y gran servicio , tenía el especial de mariscos, gambas , cangrejo y salmón ahumado en abundancia, ensalada encantadora y una olla de Marie Rose en el lado más una rebanada de pan y mantequilla. Es como un día impresionante y la vista es increíble, el blanco plano es uno de los favoritos en la zona.

Nos alojamos por una noche para la cena, alojamiento y desayuno y nos encantó! La habitación era cómoda, con todo lo necesario y una hermosa vista. Nuestra cena fue deliciosa, el pastel de pescado era exquisito y el filete de bacalao cocinado a la perfección. Los mini postres eran encantadores, especialmente el pan de mermelada y pudín de mantequilla. El desayuno en la mañana estaba muy bien presentado y había un montón. Los huevos revueltos y el salmón ahumado eran preciosos. Sin duda recomendaría este lugar para aquellos que quieren una noche tranquila y disfrutar de comer pescado perfectamente cocinado. Night away for a mini break on a rare day off together on Saturday 18th Jan. On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome, the young lad who seemed new was an absolute delight, so naturally friendly. The first 'bottomless brunch' event was already in full swing. We ordered lunch. A simple toastie, soup and a sandwich elevated to great heights by fantastic produce and attention to detail by, clearly, a competent chef. Delicious. My prawn sandwich was bursting with juicy plump prawns held together with thick quality fresh bread. My bloke's bacon & Brie toastie and chips was indulgent and creamy- the chips were delicious- could they have been cooked in beef dripping we wondered! Drinks varied and very reasonably priced! We stayed in the large suite on top floor, very comfy bed and retty much everything we needed. We did suggest to staff that the addition of a larger, smart tv is necessary as we had some issues with tv signal and couldn't watch a film as planned. Had a great sleep. Breakfast was superb and quite 'cheffy' as seemed to be cooked by someone who certainly knows their way round a kitchen. Special mention for that yummy fried bread. The bloke had a sausage & mushroom omelette which he said was perfect. I'd have liked tinned tomatoes and Stornoway black pudding but that's just personal preference and the offerings were plentiful. In the evening we chatted to the lovely Joss as it was pretty quiet, yet cosy and we got through quite a few rums! All the staff here are an absolute credit to the place, service levels are beyond exceptional. Attentive, professional and mega friendly. We'll be booking again.

Acogedor pub con un menú excelente, inusual y creativo. Todo se cocina por encargo lo que, comprensiblemente, lleva algún tiempo. El servicio es amable y eficiente y todo el establecimiento tiene una sensación encantadora. Muy recomendable para una comida con una diferencia en la zona Whitby.

Staithes is a beautiful little coastal spot with an unspoilt feel about it and we found The Captain Cook Inn placed at the top of the town a great place to stay and enjoy the area. The walk into Staithes itself is down a very steep hill with the walk back more than a bit testing for some. However we found a present welcome on arrival at the Captain Cook where we were given the pass code for our room and the after hours rear door. Our room itself was really big with nothing short of outstanding views of the area and coast. The room was clean and well stocked the tea coffee and biscuits. After a great nights sleep we moved on the breakfast, I enjoyed a full English which was tremendous with great tasting quality bacon sausages and eggs. My partner who is a non meat eater and hardly ever eats much in the morning ordered poached eggs tomatoes hash browns beans and mushrooms and finished the lot! Stay here with our recommendation and enjoy a beautiful little piece of the English coast.

Bueno con mi pareja para una buena comida y venir un poco por ella .. mi otra mitad ni siquiera podía cortar el pudín Yorkshire y podría decir que le da cuerda preguntó si podría cortar para ella lo cual es vergonzoso y todos los que buscan .. pidió otra couse era rock tenido. Salir con otro era lo mismo que ambos no podían querer de humor para comérselo. Y hemos estado mal toda la noche y hoy horrible comida últimamente. Yorkshire quiere congelado casero podría tel. Muy decepcionado bajado comida colina desde la última vez. Fumar hacía que mi pareja se sintiera tan pequeña que no le daba vergüenza. No podía salir así. Control de calidad.

We brought our dog (allowed in bar area) and found a warm welcome for all of us and very fast service. The only seating is low sofas and chairs and very low tables so we ate with our plates on our laps. The lamb and beef were excellent quality,as were the Yorkshire puddings, roast and mashed potatoes on the plate, a separate dish of carrots and broccoli and a gravy boat each. We really enjoyed our meal, staff were great but we will probably leave the dog at home next time we visit unless it's just for drinks

Good value food variety on the menu - staff would even do what you wanted if it wasn’t on the menu - friendly staff who seemed interested in the guests

Gorgeous food, not bad prices. Big plates and couldn't finish but absolutely gorgeous lasagne. Burger was filling for my grandma but she absolutely loved

The staff are friendly and welcoming. All the food was freshly prepared and tasty. The choice of cakes made our decision difficult as they all looked so good.
