Stayed here for a night in the hotel with our family. Booked a table in the restaurant. Starters & mains. None of the food was great unfortunately. The service was lovely at the bar taking our food & drinks order. The mussels were luke warm, sticky chicken wings slightly bloody. Potato skins swimming in grease. Carbonara was also very greasy and sauce had split. My Daughter’s burger which tasted nice apart from burnt brioche, came with ‘coleslaw’ that wasn’t nice. My tikka masala was really disappointing lacked flavour and tasted like the chicken was cooked separate from the sauce, served with a greasy, soggy poppadom & cold chiapatis. Overall we loved the hotel and its location. The staff at the bar and reception were kind and friendly. The rooms were lovely, spotlessly clean and spacious with great views over the moors. The only downside was the restaurant food and the cooked elements of breakfast. It would make it hard for us to recommend to friends & family until the food is sorted out, as this is a big part of a stay away for us.

Restaurant upstairs was lovely but a bit on the cold side. The food was superb - freshly cooked and piping hot and good value. The only downfall - we were charged for drinks we'd not had, but this was rectified when queried with a member of staff.

Sadly this hotel is now badly managed, unwelcoming atmosphere and decor. unloved and uncared for. The bare minimum being done. The hotel is not clean. All carpets around hotel not regularly clean. Dining area and bar untidy and dirty. Broken things and random items just dumped around hotel. Indoor/outdoor windows dirty. Only staff there were young waitress, young bar girl and a young cook. Noone in charge and apparently Manager away so told email Saram hotels as they unable to deal with my complaints. I would have asked for money back and left but noone to make that decision!!! Had to endure shoddy place and staff instead. Noone cares what this place looks like. My room not clean and old yellowy stains on duvet cover. Only the view from my bedroom was pleasant.

Wanted something light for last night's food after a lot of heavy carbs meals recently. We both had salad, tuna, and ham, tuna salad had a separate portion of mayo, which we had to mix in ourselves, lots of fresh salad ingredients, and new potatoes. Ham salad had tasty ham, a separate portion of Branston pickle, both had separate pots of salad dressing, which is a great idea because not everyone likes salad dressing and wholemeal bread, butter was a bit hard so difficult to spread, but still lovely, dog friendly pub, very helpful staff, great pint of Theakstons Best bitter, and good range of flavoured gins.

The best lasagna I’ve ever had. Portion size amazing and combined with the side of chips coleslaw and salad it was perfection. My partner enjoyed his gammon and chips. Sat by the beautiful fire and the service was 10/10. Would absolutely return and recommend to anyone.

Me encanta este lugar, es diferente Creo que un poco anticuado, pero fantástica comida y café Visitamos dos veces durante la Navidad y para ser honesto no podía faltar la comida , lugar y el personal nos atendió muy bien en En ambas ocasiones volveremos

stayed three nights dinner b & B Excellent...very personally run by proprietor and guests benefit from their local kno wledge ...lovely food and very comfortable bedroom with our dogs who were made very welcome we will be back

Mesa reservada para las 7 pm. Muy ocupado arriba y zona de bar. Nuestra mesa para 2 en una bonita esquina arriba. La comida estaba bien, nada de servicio especial estaba de nuevo bien. Bebidas un poco exageradas. Pinta de sidra y un vino tinto de más de £ 15. Han estado antes mientras se aloja en Whitby. ¡Dos niños Gritando no ayudaron! ¿Quién trae niños a esa hora de la noche y tratando de obligarlos a comer? No Kids After 8 pm.
