Not far from home but for some reason our first visit. We played darts on a very good setup and drank beer. What more does a man need. 5 star service 🎯

We went here for dinner, not as hotel guests. There was no one at reception and no one seemed to know where the dining room was. One very young waitress with very short skirt and love bites on her neck. Service was ok, but we noticed the hotel guests were more attended to. We both had roast lamb. The lamb was dry and the Yorkshire puddings burnt and leathery. Didn’t bother staying for dessert.

I love this Chinese, I order takeaway, it always comes on time and is always hot, the food is so tasty, the delivery crew are so pleasant

Rarely have I felt less welcome from the guy who seemed to be in charge; despite the otherwise perfectly amicable young ladies who were serving there. Being told, you're not welcome here if you're only buying drinks - don't think you can sit down at that table. Being told there is a time limit for how long you will be allowed to stay if I don't think you've bought enough, and finally, the second rate quality of the food - a long wait yet still undercooked was the metaphorical icing on the cake.

Had afternoon tea here with my daughter! Absolutely fantastic, couldn’t fault the staff, even got a box to take home any food we couldn’t manage! Beautifully refurnished too!

Excellent location for a quick break. The staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The evening meal and breakfast was absolutely superb. Top marks

Upon arriving at La trattoria we were seated at our table where we were then left to select from menu. When our order was being taken there was things off the menu chosen which were not available, it would have been useful to know this before we made our decisions and it would have been more time effective and less disappointing. We placed our orders to which then about 5 minutes later the waitress came back to our table to let us know more of what we ordered was no available which was very restrictive due to one of the party having to order gluten free products. Again alternate options were chosen and when food arrived no gluten free bun came with the soup with no explanation either. I asked where the bun was and if we could have some sauce also and the waitress disappeared off. She did not return to our table so I asked again and that’s when she told me that there was no gluten free buns and the sauce was coming. The sauce never arrived so we went without. They took 10% off the bill however the service was just shocking. Really unimpressed.

This gem is only about 10 mins away for us. Always lovely visit. Had breakfast there this morning, Delicious. The garden centre always has plenty of choice.

Beautiful area and a good menu but the sandwich and bread we had with the soup was stale. A shame as the soup was lovely. We stopped off here as we did a walk from Helmsley and the Abbey is half way (about 3 miles) so perfect for a rest and refuel before we set off again. It’s absolutely stunning around here and the Abbey for a backdrop is simply beautiful for a rest and a bite. Nothing is cheap nowadays and I really don’t mind paying for good stuff. It’s just annoying when produce is not fresh as the price is still the same!

We ordered cod & chips to take back to our holiday cottage for tea and was shocked to see that we had been given frozen chips which is something I've never heard or experienced before in any chippie ( please don't let this become the norm ) and the fish wasn't much better, again frozen but that's excepable as long as the fish is of good quality this fish wasn't. So overall not a good experience and i would go again.

Very nice pub. Recently refurbished. Very nicely decorated. Friendly staff who were happy to chat and provided complimentary nuts/crisps. Theakstons was well kept and tasted delicious. Lovely courtyard beer garden at the back. Nice sun trap. Overall a lovely couple of hours well spent.

This place is TOP the food quality is astonishing and the staff incredible… I’m sooo sad it’s closed .
