3 adults and 4 children under 7. Ordered drinks and asked for a table but was told AFTER we got drinks there was an hours wait. We would have left if we hadn’t already got drinks as the kids were starving. (I’m not blaming them for being busy at all). Bar lady was very sarcastic and rude at this point. We decided to stay and sit outside, kids were cold in shade and the only bench left was literally TOUCHING someone else’s table so we moved it about 3ft in the sun. Was told immediately to move it back, explained it means we’d be back to back touching strangers if we sat there. Was still told to move it back So we made do in the shade. 2, 3 and 6 years old couldn’t wait an hour for food, (again not blaming them for being busy) so we were happy to grab a bag of chips from the chippy next door. The landlord approached us aggressively and intimidated the kids telling us we couldn’t eat it. I would have happily paid for their food but my small children were starving. I explained this, he did not show any consideration and still tried to get us to put the chips away WHILST the kids were still eating!! I understand it’s not their food but they are 2 years old, being told not to eat their food. Disgusting behaviour will never be returning.

My son Samuel will not go anywhere else, the best sausage rolls in Yorkshire. He opts for the chilli flavoured ones, in fact he's taking 6 home with him today. I've also enjoyed a marvellous full Enish in thete with the own Dan and all of his staff being so courteous. Their cakes and pastries are also first class. A must visit for travellers to Pickering.

A cold December days outside but inside the White Horse pub welcomes you with a lovely warm fire and a smiling, chatty barman . In for lunch, drinks sorted and menus provided, special board on the wall above the fire . Lovely lunch menu, great choice of hot or cold food , my daughter chose the soup and fresh salmon sandwich and I went for the Steak and Ale pie with fresh vegetables and lovely homemade chips . Plenty of parking at the rear. Lovely staff, great food, we will definitely return , All our food and drinks for £33-00 , very reasonable .

We visited the village with friends and family, went to stop at the Lavender tea rooms- wish we hadn’t! The owner was so rude and obnoxious- we were told to visit the cafe across the road because we were in a group (despite tables being free and available outside). This place obviously makes money due to their location, because it definitely is not due their manners and hospitality! Shocking.

The place to start with was really nice friendly welcoming until it got to about 8-9pm and it went downhill so fast. We had our baby with us and he was crying about 10pm because he was going to bed and our neighbour came round a started shouting and swearing in my face. It was rude and disrespectful because my baby could hear it. Then I saw a mark on the wall so I went round the family room may I add and that’s when I was ready to leave. There was marks on the walls, floor, roof and on the beds which was just disgusting. I was then laying in the bed and felt a bit on my leg I looked down to see about 8 bite marks all in the same place which made it even worse to say we had our baby with us. They had the audacity to complain about a baby crying even tho it was a family room and they saw we had a baby with us. The location and views are beautiful but I will never be staying here again and what I have been through tonight.

Nice location on the market place. There are four rooms - two upstairs and two downstairs - so much bigger than it first appears. We called in for coffee but ended up having afternoon tea for two. Excellent scones with loads of jam and cream. Teapot of tea and offer of refill for the coffee. Staff were lovely - very friendly and pleasant. Toilets were very nice but beware - quite a lot of steps to get there!

£250 for two nights! We were gifted a voucher for a special birthday! When we first entered the “host “ wasn’t happy we didn’t have a paper copy of the voucher even tho we emailed it when booking! Then put in a room that wasn’t clean and when we asked for the room to be turned round as we stayed 2 nights they literally just emptied the bin! Waiting staff sat night was lovely and couldn’t do enough! Sunday morning staff serving breakfast really didn’t want to be there and when we tried to check out we were told to leave the key on the bar! Rooms definitely need a lick of paint and a decent clean as cobwebs from every corner is not a good look! Couple of staff were lovely but they were in the minority

We popped into the Deli for a light lunch and coffee. We ordered coffees and 2 Bacon , Brie and Cranberry on toasted breadcakes. There was a bit of a wait for the food to arrive. The food looked nice and came with a side salad, but as soon as the waitress put the plate in front of my husband there was a strong smell of disinfectant or bleach, which he discovered was coming from one of the breadcakes. We alerted the waitress to this discovery and she sent the manager to our table. The manager refused to actually smell the breadcake and instead offered to repeat the order. We can only assume that the contamination came from the food preparation area. We accepted the offer and had no complaints about the repeat food. Staff friendly and helpful. Tables felt sticky
