Beautiful, authentic Thai food. Wonderful atmosphere. If you want super fast food, this is not the place for you. But, if you want freshly prepared food made to order, with a wonderful family run atmosphere, then this is the place to go! 😊

Absolutely amazing food and venue. The food was so tasty and so much of it. We couldn't eat it all. Would definitely go back. Staff are friendly and helpful.

We came here for dinner tonight as we were turned away from a neighbouring restaurant that didn’t accept walk-in guests. And I’m glad we did! We were welcome by a waitress and took us straight to our table. We ordered quite quickly and before long our mixed starter arrived. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. We also ordered prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce on the side. Our main course arrived and the portions were generous to say the least! The flavours were good and we loved it!! The restaurant looked a little tired and could do with being freshened up, but the food was delicious!!!

This is not fast food, but it is very, very good food. Be prepared to wait but be assured it's worth it (mind you, given the portion sizes, you'll need to pace yourself anyway). We went from Halifax to the Harrogate area for the day and were quite happy to divert as far as Malton just to eat here. If I were to have any criticism, it would be that at times they could probably do with an extra pair of hands waiting on tables, but hey, relax and enjoy slowing down. We don't do it anywhere near enough.

We arrived Malton at nearly 10pm, fortunate to have stumbled upon this restaurant that kindly kept their kitchen open when we asked if they still had food available. We got to try their amazing dishes - tom yum soup, green curry, garlic fried rice - all delicious and comforting on a rainy night, at what we thought were reasonable prices. Kudos to the chef. We were later told the chef was in her 60s and has been single-handedly cooking for this restaurant through the night and has been for a while! We were blown away by how everyone here seemed so genuinely warm and kind. Even after a busy dinner service on a Saturday, they were checking in on us regularly, asking us questions to get to know us. They seemed to have pleasant conversations with other customers too. It felt like being hosted by really good friends, which is such a precious experience to find in a restaurant. Their kindness kept pouring in through the night, offering us drinks and desserts that we sheepishly declined, not wanting to put them out seeing it was near closing time. When we were about to pay for our bill the kind lady brought us Thai milk teas 🥹 You can tell the people behind a restaurant are kind souls with a pure heart when they don’t make you feel like anything is too much trouble, treat you with warmth and generosity even as passing visitors of the town, and would even suggest trying other places in the area that offer good Thai food in their view. Thank you so much for everything. We heard about the difficulties of the restaurant at the moment, such as with hiring, and in spite of this they have done astoundingly well with the limited resources that they have. I wish everyone who visits will get to try the incredible standard of food and service we had tonight. Really hope to return in the future :) Best wishes

A very disappointing meal. Extremely slow service from the word go. Drinks took forever, waited an excessive time for starter (which they got wrong) then waited a ridiculous amount of time for the main courses. The service was just awful and the food not much better. Sadly would not recommend this restaurant.

We had a fantastic meal delivered from Tuis on Friday 5th July 2024. The food was authentic Thai cuisine, as it always is. Home delivery is a great service too. We highly recommend this place both as a restaurant and for take away.

This place is an absolute gem. The food is absolutely amazing. It's always fresh and always very delicious. The occasional issue with waiting times, but that's due to high demand and new starting staff. No complaints here. I'll be ringing for a takeaway tonight. It's coming home 🤣

Takeaway ! Got home and wow, quantity seemed more than in the past, simply opening it you could tell there were plenty of the ingredients that are sometimes left wanting at some places. One meal was Phed pad prik Kaeng Thai roast duck and the other was Padkhing seafood. Flavour, good quality ingredients and quantity! I called them to compliment as it’s all to easy to complain but not the other way around.

The food in this place is delicious. Unfortunately it was extremely slow to arrive as they seemed to be short staffed in the kitchen. We were actually too full and too tired to eat all of our meals, which was a great disappointment to us. Hats off to the waiting staff - there were two young people, a girl and a boy, and they were working exceptionally hard to try and keep everyone happy. A great example to the youth of today.

Called in for a takeaway, lovely friendly staff, short waiting time, excellent quality food and generous portions. Will definitely use again. The restaurant looked nice too.

We visited the restaurant during the Easter holiday. It is the best Thai restaurant we have been to. The quality of the food, service and price are all the best. We will be back again for sure !

The service was great, we arrived a little late but kind enough to still serve us food. Food was great and would definitely recommend!

Where do I start with this place....... The first red flag is that all the waiting staff are very young teenage boys, (In their defence, they did nothing wrong) however, all the adult manager staffs shouted at them and blamed them for most of the problems. The food took 2h 45 minutes to arrive, and we only got half of what we ordered, some of us did not even get any rice. The quality of food was poor, overcooked chicken, undercooked veg, questionable off putting smells coming from the food. The staff seemed extremely stressed.

We had been intending to come to Tuis for some time, as we visit Malton on average once every 2-3 months. As such, we were looking forward to a nice family meal. Unfortunately this was not what we received. The evening started out well, our order was taken promptly, our starters came in good time and we enjoyed them! However, after we finished our starters we had to endure a two hour wait for our main courses. After over an hour of waiting we were told our mains were “10 minutes” away, when in reality it was nearer to 50. When the food did arrive it all came at different times, as did the sides. One of our sides did not arrive and one of the meals was inedible due to it being too spicy (despite us deliberately requesting it to be mild). The food itself was not very nice and none of us particularly enjoyed it. In the end, the manager gave an insincere, dismissive apology, but did agree not to charge for our mains. However our bill was still £100 and, after looking up the menu online and adding things up, I suspect we were still overcharged. We will not be dining here again. On a separate note, the young lads who were working there were very hardworking and a credit to themselves. It was a shame to see the managers taking a lot of their stress out on these teenagers. I only hope they are compensated fairly for their work.

It was our first visit, we were a party of six, it started well with the starters and prawn crackers arriving within 30 minutes then the wait for the main courses was over 2 hours. When the meals started to arrive they did not arrive at the same time, with only part of some meals arriving (some the rice came and others the main dish with out the rice) other meals arrived after others had been finished. The food in general was nothing special, we will not be visiting again in a hurry. The young waiting staff were helpful, management were off hand/rude.

Absolutely gorgeous takeaway tonight for our first time trying tui. The good size portions and the quality of food we received made it really good value and we really enjoyed it thank you ! In particular the weeping tiger was lovely. Looking forward to trying everything else

Another fab meal at Tui's! After a great first meal, with plenty of leftovers, we returned for Valentine's Day. As expected they were busy with both in person and takeaway orders but we were still seated in good time and our order taken in good time too. We went for a set menu and had an amazing amount of food. There are no small portions here!! Our starters arrived in good time and were very tasty. Our mains too were very tasty, and we can't wait to have our leftovers tomorrow! Overall a great experience. Staff are polite and friendly, even when clearly run off their feet. Drinks are very well priced, as are all their food options. Our only issue was with another table who seemed to have had a bottle of wine too much, and spent most of their meal loudly complaining. When they decided to leave (without paying the majority of their bill), this was handled very professionally by staff. We will be back and would recommend Tui's for a well priced, tasty meal.

Looked forward based on owners 'own description' on website., expectations high. It was chilly inside, some people still had coats on. Not particularly busy, but shown in to second room, with a few arriving after us. 10 min wait before asked if we wanted a drink. Very young boy appeared to be only one on floor. Ordered mixed sharing starter platter which eventually arrived 30 mins later. It was OK. We then sat waiting for main courses which eventually arrived 45 mins later, by which time we had decided to pay and leave. The mains then arrived as we were about to leave, one of which was burnt the other so overflowing with soy sauce it was like eating a handful of sea salt. The floor staff were basically disrespectful verging on rude when we complained. Won't be back. Appalling experience.

I come from a East Asian country with an abundance of authentic Thai restaurants, I've even visited Thailand multiple times. But, without a doubt, this is the best Thai food I've ever had. Without sounding like a commercial, I'd just ask you to come try the food here. The price is reasonable, the service is top notch, and the food is extremely delicious. My compliments to Bun the chef, and her daughter Min, who served me and my partner. I'd recommend the Pad See Ew, the mixed platter, and the curry sea bass.

Had a Thai takeaway from Tuis and it was lovely! Huge portions and very tasty we thoroughly enjoyed.

The restaurant is easy to find with parking very close by. The interior was presented well. Food was absolutely delicious. The ingredients are high quality, and I liked their 'buy local' policy for their meat and produce. Food and drinks were flawless, and the service was great. Only thing that let it down was how cold the restaurant was.

Been a few times now as food is fresh all be it a little greasy. But unfortunately we won’t be back. The tables were dirty and I stuck to them !! The dirty angry pooch on the sofa put me off also, worried that my one drink of the evening was way too strong (driving) but it was keeping me warm as it was freezing 🥶🥶

Food is fabulous! Best beef massaman curry I’ve had in years. Crispy duck pancake starter is also delicious. Unfortunately, their current staffing level results in a long meal. That said, food is so good, it’s worth it!

Met up with a few friends last night who suggested Tuis as they had visited before. It was our first time. I think we were one of the first to arrive and definitely the last to leave. The food was absolutely delicious, piping hot, very tasty and on both the starter and the main course we scoffed the lot leaving clean plates. There is only one waitress but she works extremely hard and even at the end of a busy evening, she still came over and we all had a lovely chat. If we lived closer this would without a doubt be a weekly visit. Thank you so much again for an outstanding evening

We have been going to Tuis for years and during that time we have enjoyed many lovely meals but sadly we have seen the quality of the food and the service deteriorate during recent visits. During tonight’s visit the service was incredibly slow and it appears that they were prioritising takeaways over eat in diners. The tempura batter on the vegetables that my wife had as a starter was very thick and greasy, the chicken in our main courses was tough and full of gristle and the portion sizes have definitely reduced. Sadly after many years of visiting Tuis we decided that the restaurant no longer delivers the quality and value that we are used to and therefore tonight was our last visit.

Best and authentic Thai food. Owner and Chef used to be chef in five star hotels in Thailand before buying this restaurant. Super nice lady and opened early for the two of us who are dying to find good Thai food. Better than any Thai food we had in York and Edinburgh!

I was visiting a friend in the area and came here for lunch on a quiet Saturday afternoon. One of the best Thai meals I’ve ever eaten! (& I’ve been to Thailand)! The Kaeng Kua Goong was delicious - well worth a visit.

I’m finding it difficult to put into words how disappointed we were. They are obviously struggling. I don’t like sticking the boot in but it was just not good enough. The staff were all very nice, the singha draught beer was good and the chicken satay on the mixed starter was nice. The Pinot grigiot was undrinkable. The beef in the Thai red curry was like leather. If you are using a silverside or something similar- at least tenderise it first. And the chicken in the pad thai my wife had was dry and hard. I know many similar restaurants precook the chicken for speed of service, but this seemed like it was cooked at least a couple of days ago. The table next to us were becoming aggressive as they had been waiting for 2 hours without mains, we got ours before them despite us ordering after them. We left without finishing ours. And went for a pizza to take back to our hotel.

Delicious, real, fresh thai food. Friendly and helpful staff helped with gluten free options which there were plenty of. Although we had it as a take away the atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxed inside. The 1 chilly heat dish was perhaps a little hotter than we expected but this did not make the food any less worthy of the 5 stars! Overall amazing, and made an excellent left overs meal the next day :)

Really bubbly, friendly staff and excellent food. If there could be any criticism about the food itself it was that the portions are huge, but freshly cooked and of exceptional quality. The decor is a little faded but don’t let that put you off. We’ll definitely be back.

Was staying nearby and decided to try here for food, wasn’t disappointed. The food was exquisite and authentic, couldn’t fault. Would recommend to anyone who is visiting the area.

Came while on business nearby with a colleague. Do t do a lot of Thai food personally so was quite looking forward to this, we went for a sharping platter stater and a Singapore Chow Mein, colleague went for a fish dish. Don’t get me wrong food was very nice but didn’t wow me. Surroundings aren’t the best, and the toilets were I need of a bit of TLC. Was a shame that they didn’t offer wipes or water bowl to clean our hands after our starter. For a Tuesday night it had a good few people in and I could see at a weekend it being very busy and adding to the ambiance. Probably for me the biggest disappointment was the “Old fashioned” cocktail my colleague had, I had recommended the cocktail as he hadn’t had one before, it came in a martini glass with no ice, actual fruit on the orange and tbh didn’t taste the best. This made it a 3/5 as opposed to a 4/5 for me. BTW, colleague scored it the same.

I went to Tui’s cocktail bar and thai restaurant with my parents and we ordered duck with honey sauce and chicken panage with eggs and a couple of cocktails. Service was very quick and the atmosphere was warm and lovely. The food was delicious and so flavourful, my parents absolutely loved the flavours. And I loved the drinks. If ur in town and need a delicious, hearty meal, definitely recommend Tuis 😊 will be back for more

Like many of the reviews of this restaurant I should have gone further back to ascertain the true picture. The cute waitress, yes cute but absent for the majority of the hour plus we were there. "Aunt" who apparently came out of retirement definitely not an asset, the retirement world is calling you, go back! The food, one review said "I'm still chewing the chicken 12 hours later" I can believe this! Our food was old, tired, over cooked & the main well the chicken tasted like it also had come out of retirement, tough & squeaked when you chewed it. Chef/owner don't blame the government or the fact you can't find a chef please. Bad food is the responsibility of everyone working there. Aunt you are absolutely correct if we don't like it don't come back! However, we paid as you demanded (aggressively). Perhaps a spot check by environmental health wouldn't do any harm. Chef/owner don't waste your energy responding with banal excuses do something about your business!

Lots and lots of food for the price and actually quite good. The service was unfortunately not supported with a smile or even a level of service you'd expect in a restaurant. There were a couple of teenagers hanging out on a sofa???? What is that about, I suppose the 'you'll get barred if caught taking drugs' sign in the toilet explains that? Was a Wednesday though, so the atmosphere may be better at the weekend, saying that some music would have helped. This isn't a place I'll go out of my way to recommend

We came across Tui's whilst staying at The Talbot hotel next door and popped in for dinner on a quiet Sunday evening. The food was fantastic, you could taste that it was all home made and the ingredients were really fresh. The mushrooms with satay sauce were a real highlight. Great service from the lovely waitress made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

We love Thai food and as we were staying in Malton decided to visit. Don’t be put off by the fact you may walk in and find no staff, just wait a few minutes, this restaurant is run by a husband and wife in the kitchen and their daughter serving. The food was delicious and generous portions.

The restaurant is through the bar. There are gluten free options. The mocktails were tasty, the food even moreso. Mushroom and chicken satays to start, panang curry and ginger black fungus stir fry for mains. Very tasty. We will definitely go back.

We pre-ordered our takeaway two hours in advance. On arrival at the allocated time it was not ready. Waited for a whole hour, no apology or discount offered. A whole hour for pre-ordered takeaway! The food was not great, everything was over cooked and not up to standard. My chicken pad thai I had high hopes for from previous reviews but the chicken was rock hard and not palletable, even the dog didn't want it. A real shame and definitely not worth the hours wait.

Had a takeaway tonight and it was a triumph! Special mention must go to the Pad Thai which was next level. The portions are generous to say the least, King Hungry VIII would be impressed. Lovely stuff.

Ordered takeaway for collection at 6pm tonight. Was told would call me back to let me know when ready. Took me a further 3 hours to get through and was told still not ready as restaurant busy. No way to run a business and not even common courtesy to tell me either too busy to do takeaway or would be best to go elsewhere as not able to fulfil my order. Not even an apology when I eventually spoke to someone, just a 'we're really busy'. Would give zero star if available. Shame on you.

Unreal scran 10/10 loads of chicken massive portions very reasonable great staff and chef was very nice, would definitely come back

if i was on death row, this would be my final requested meal. we had a fish platter starter, prawn toast and fish cakes etc were succulent and flavoursome. for mains I had the spicey beef which was cooked medium rare, melted in the mouth, and the spice level was perfect, tingled the lips for ages but not painfully spicey. My partner who lived in Thailand for years had tom yun soup which was aromatic and tasty. she said its the best Thai shes ever had. Cant recommend enough.

We went to this place New Years Eve and really liked it in every way. All of the staff were superb, there were 2 young ladies and a gentleman and they were all brilliant The girl that served us was absolutely first class, very friendly and chatty whilst remaining very professional also. When the food came we could not fault it at all, everything we ordered was delicious. With it also being a Cocktail Bar we also had 2 pitchers of Cocktails and these were also very good and definitely made up with care as they looked great. The only thing I would say is that if you’re in a rush it’s probably not for you as the food did take some time to come, however as explained above was well worth waiting for. It was also reasonably priced with us getting a main meal, rice, 2 sides with 2 large jugs of Cocktails for £50.

We have been to this many times in the past and really enjoyed it. However on this visit we found the food to be below the usual standards of this restaurant it was ok but not great the staff are really friendly but due to the lack of people the restaurant lacks any kind of atmosphere. It is a great shame as this was once one of our favourite places to eat.

Came to visit malton last week and tried this restaurant, probably the best Thai I’ve ever tried! Yes it might take a little longer to come but you can tell the food is fresh and worth the wait. Also the staff are very welcoming, will definitely return and recommend to family and friends 😊 keep up the good work x

Works Christmas ‘do’ Saturday night. We pre ordered. Group of ten and all the meals were amazing. This place should be rammed every night. The best food for miles around. We’ve travelled round Thailand and it doesn’t get better than this. Sometimes the service is slow, and the place itself isn’t gentrified but I eat out for freshness and flavour and there is nowhere nearby that I know of that is anything like it. I had the king prawns. They were to die for and I swear to god I woke up at 6am this morning thinking about them and when we can go again. Go and try it. Experience real fresh food that tastes!!! Well done everyone there and Thankyou so much for a great meal. Happy Christmas. You work so hard.

It was a quiet Sunday and the food was excellent! Really good!

This is the best Thai food we have ever had. The waitress is an absolute delight and her mum is the chef. Very large portions and certainly worth every penny. The young lady behind the bar who took us to our table was a gem....

Been waiting 45 minutes (so far so could be longer) for a takeaway. During my wait all I've seen in this restaurant is lary drunk people having shots, broken glasses and a terrible atmosphere. Do not visit!

We were looking forward to a Thai meal, but when we arrived at the restaurant at 9pm, a family birthday party was in full swing in the front bar, the area in which we were seated, with men shouting at the tops of their voices...

Heat proper Thai food cooked by a real Thai family. Atmosphere is ok but feels like no heating. Service perfect and quick despite the warnings of good things being worth waiting for. The answer is they are!

We were staying in the area for the night and came here for an evening meal midweek. After reading some of the reviews we anticipated a bit of a wait but we were pleasantly surprised as we were seated and served drinks politely and promptly by the waitress. We opted for the vegetarian set menu for 2. The portions were very generous and each dish was fresh and delicious. The veg tempura was crispy and tasty, the soup was packed with flavour and the mains were all delicious. I think there was only one chef working but you could tell they cooked it fresh to order. My only wish was that we had bigger bellies to fit it all in! We were offered the option to take the left overs home, which we would have done if we were not staying in a hotel. All in all, hot fresh tasty food for a very decent price. Friendly polite staff who are clearly working very hard to keep the place going during challenging times.

Terrible experience here this evening. Told it was a bit of a wait on arrival which was fine, asked and told this was 30-40mins, but figured up to an hour at worst. 90mins later and asked several times but still no food (two curries, two...

A large booking of us visited Saturday night for a hen do. The staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed our cocktails! Great experience!

I LOVE TUI! I had the specialty duck in tamarind and honey, soooo delicious. They make a vegetarian Singapore noodles for me to. Beautifully cooked food and lovely staff.

The food was a takeaway and was delicious, the young girl catered well to myself well and everyone else seemed to look happy and be enjoying there food/drink. Would and will be coming back as usual.

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. Lovely cocktails, great food and service with a smile. Yes there was a bit of a wait for the food but we expected that and just chilled out whilst we waited. The food was definitely worth it. We will be going again without a shadow of a doubt.

The food is beautiful, tasty and fresh couldn't be happier with that, service is slow but the staff are kind and helpful, they didn't stop in the 3 hours we were there so it's clearly because they just don't have enough staff to work the restaurant, bar and takeaway so not the staffs fault! Takeaway option might be quicker than the eating in as I did see alot of them going out. Also the outdoor area was busy with people having cocktails, so cocktails might be good unfortunately I didn't drink so can't comment on the alcohol. This could have the potential to be a hidden gem in a small town! I debated not leaving a review as from looking at pervious reviews, honesty doesn't seem to go down well with whomever is responding to the reviews. So to that person don't be hurt by reviews are there to provide constructive criticism and tell others about our personal experience. I've decided to anyway knowing that there's potential of backlash because I didn't want to only show the negative side of my experience there we're more pros than cons (as listed below). Really hate to be critical of a business just trying to earn a living but I am honestly struggling to see where the 5 star reviews come from, majority of these are recent but many lower ratings further down for slow service and I wish I had scrolled a bit further down before booking. Restaurant itself is cute and staff friendly enough but the service is terrible, about 20 mins from seating until our drinks order was taken, about 40 minutes until the starters came. I would understand this if the place was busy but hardly anyone there besides us and a few other tables who I guess had been waiting for their food since 2010. The wait for the mains was literally ridiculous, from finishing our starter it was another hour before these arrived. One person in our group had decided not to get a starter and wait for the Main course and had started eating her own arm at this point. Food itself was okay all though I am still chewing some of my chicken 12 hours later as I write this review so that might also be up for debate. The 2 stars are simply for the cute restaurant and our friendly waitress. This restaurant could be good if they improved on their slow service! Many people have said the same over the years so this is not something new.

Really the satay was great with homemade sauce…. But in general quite variable standards. The fried tofu is best avoided (very heavy batter with not much inside). The main courses were good - very tasty & freshly prepared. Would go again.
