NOYON tandoori restaurant in Ryedale

Wow what a lovely place this is ❤️ got me and my husband in last minute on a busy Saturday evening and we’re so glad they did. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, helpful with the food choices and very attentive. The food was probably the best Indian we’ve ever had. Lots of it and super tasty. Cannot wait to come back to Pickering so we can visit again!

Having tried all the Indian restaurants in Pickering on several occasions, this is my favourite. Staff pleasant and welcoming and the food was excellent. At the other Indian restaurants in Pickering I felt rushed as if they needed table straight away. And one of the other restaurants nearly always got the order wrong and started to add service charge. At Noyon the atmosphere is more authentic and the waiters explain the menu when asked and can make dishes hotter and more spicy if required. Thank you Noyon keep up the good work and we will be back soon.

Back again - consistently excellent. Food is superb and the service / staff are always so polite, attentive and professional - unlike another local bistro not to mention in Pickering - which is how we ended up here before!

Cannot believe some of the negative reviews on here . We eat at this restaurant all the time we are local and have tried all 3 Indian restaurant in the Town and this one comes out top every time for service with a smile . Great tasting food and a lovely atmosphere. Yes it may not have the modern decor of the other two but it's the oldest Indian restaurant in pickering and that must count for something . I like to vary what I have each time and each time it's been delicious. So delicious in fact that we've booked for Xmas day this year

Ordered a takeaway, lovely staff but unfortunately very disappointed in food. We have never tasted such bland Indian food, it was as if spices had been left out.

Myself and my Partner came for a celebration meal. The meal itself was lovely and the male waiters were helpful and polite. However, our night was ruined when we were paying. A young female waitress was stood with a young male waiter at the end of the bar. She began to laugh at my insecurities nudging her colleague, pointing and laughing at me. Whilst I was looking straight at her. She still continued. I found this very disrespectful. Luckily I’m not one to cause a scene so I left it and told my partner when we left as he hadn’t noticed them at the time. If he had seen i believe it would have been a different situation. We won’t be returning.

Anyone that thinks the food from here is nice I doubt has never had a decent curry in their life! Food was bland, no taste at all, lamb was chewy to the point of inedible, rice was dripping in oil and the delivery man was rude! Definitely won't be ordering from here again, would rather throw £60 on the fire.

The staff where nice and friendly but the Nan bread was nice as for the food was bland and all looked the same not one to go back to again thanks

Stopped for early meal on way back to hotel. Friendly staff, nice ambience and food was terrific and good value. On top of that they offer “early bird” discount which was a bonus

Ordered and collected a takeaway whilst staying in Pickering. The staff were polite but the food was average at best. Tasteless, soggy fish pakora, very bland curry and tastless garlic naan. The poppadoms were the best bit but you can't go wrong with poppadoms really. I won't be rushing back.

One of the best Indian restaurants around. My wife and i had not booked but after talking to a couple leaving Noyon ,asked if any good? Excellent they said. Considering we have been to all the Indians in Pickering ,Noyon was more greeting and friendly. We was not rushed when ordering, nice and pleasant . From the pickle tray to the food recommended by the waiter(considering i have an Almond allergy),he suggested a Tandoori Chicken Bhuna and Chicken tikka shahi Shashlic Bhuna. It did not dissapoint . Excellent choice of food ,wine and a pleasure to eat there. Will be choosing this place again whilst staying in Pickering.

Had a prawn curry and nam takeaway first class lots of prawns and everything freshly cooked and served hot

After visiting the area we were advised to try Noyon for takeaway. Approached the restaurant and asked if we could order to takeout - we were told yes. The waiter then walked away from us. Same waiter approached us again shortly after and asked if we were OK, we replied yeah and went to place our order however the waiter did not seem interested and walked away. He approached us again, again asking if we were OK but when we went to read our order out he immediately walked away. After about 10-15 minutes of trying to get the waiters attention we suggested leaving but the waiter came back and asked again if we were OK. We asked if we could place an order and read out what we wanted. The waiter asked if we had already ordered and when we advised no we were wanting to order now, he shrugged and said no this wasn't allowed and walked away. We then decided to eat elsewhere

First time here. Good service. Poppadoms and pickle tray good. Mixed kebab good. Chicken dupiaza tasteless, very oily and the chicken was dry. Lamb afghani very tasty but swimming in oil. Garlic naan not at all garlicky. We told the staff and they apologised but no reduction in bill. It was very quiet so really no excuses. We will not be going again.

4 of us went including a close family friend and our mother and we had a fantastic meal. Two of us were vegetarians and we had a large choice of great options. Service was lovely and food was very tasty. An added bonus at the end of the night was a complimentary drink each from the restaurant which was very much appreciated. Although our family and friends were on holiday my partner and I live nearby and have just found out new local favourite restaurant! 5 * and thank you x

We have been coming to noyon for about 5 years. We recommend everyone to come here.The staff are friendly and welcoming. The kitchen staff always make fantastic food.We actually live over 100 miles away but we own vans at flamingo land and we have to visit everytime we are down.The food isn't made to be hot and spicy. It is made for the flavour. If you would like it spicy I would recommend you ask for it that way.To summary the food is amazing and so are the staff. You won't regret coming here.

We visited whilst on a family break in Pickering and the restaurant was a few doors down from our AirBnB. We saw that they had a 15% discount offer for dining in before 7pm. The staff were all wearing gloves, the floor was clearly marked with a one-way system and the tables were distanced appropriately. We sat down feeling reassured and welcomed.We were offered poppadoms and pickle tray on arrival which was tasty.The staff were really knowledgeable about allergens and the menu clearly stated which dishes contained nuts. We ordered a range of dishes - butter chicken, aloo puri, daal masala, bhajis, naans, rice and every dish was tasty and fresh.The service was fantastic and the staff were very friendly. We were offered hot cloths and after dinner mints at the end of the meal. Would recommend for anyone in the area to visit this fantastic restaurant.

Noyon never fails us - we visit here regularly an try various dishes off the menu and they are always super tasty especially their cauliflower bahji it is the best we’ve ever had from any Indian we’ve visited an believe me we’ve tried a few over the years - the staff are so friendly and are always on hand when more drinks etc are needed we love Noyon an really are reluctant to try anywhere else - but why would we when we know we always leave here happy :)

Ok, tho the lamb in my Noyon special was chewy and son’s korma only had 6 pieces of chicken in it. Staff friendly.

We got a takeaway last night and can honestly say it’s the best Indian we have had in a long time. We are from hull and have had a takeaway from here before (as well as the local competitor) and the meals we had last night plus accompanying bits . The sauces were fab, the meats excellent as were the king prawns in my madras. The sag paneer was excellent too. A really nice meal . Not the cheapest but definitely worth it for the quality of the food

The Noyon website has not been updated to reflect a 15 - 20% price increase. We selected our takeaway order, rang to place it and were then charged much more than the prices listed on their website. They said they could not update their website, which is misleading so beware! We paid £10 more for our order of food for 4 than we had anticipated. Best to ring first to get up to date information. Food nice but their "mild" was quite "hot" for our tastes. They did give us a free pickle tray and poppadums, but we would have preferred to pay what we had expected to.

There's a very good choice of dishes for both meat eaters and vegetarians. The food was attractively presented, tasted great and the service was prompt and friendly. We also enjoyed the Cobra on tap (although there is a good wine list as well). The restaurant definitely lived up to its good reviews. Just over £40 for two, including drinks, was very reasonable.

Food was very good as was the service. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.The decoration was a bit tired. Parking is available at the front of the restaurant but is limited. This is the second time we have been here the last time some 4years before and I would go back again.

We went to noyon whilst we were away for my daughters birthday. We had a lovely meal and the people there were fantastic.

We have just visited this Indian and it was a very nice restaurant. It had very nice staff and we had a bit of a funny moment when the man nearly dropped one of our curries! But it was a very funny moment and the man immediately apologised for his mistake. The food came and it was quality food. You got a big portion and it was good for your money. All in all; this Indian is very good and gives you quality food. I recommend Noyon.

Very friendly and attentive staff who helped patiently with a couple unaccustomed to Indian food, the Noyon has a wide and varied menu that completely met the needs of our party for an early evening meal.

The King Prawn Biryani was abound with the prawns however the Takka Dal was runny like a soup and not as tasty as I woud have expected. Good quantities but sadly everything that we ordered was lacking in the authentic Indian curry taste.

We visited while on holiday, we found the staff welcoming and friendly. The food was very tasty just the right amount of heat along with a great flavour.

Had a take away of Prawn Dhansak, only tasted of pineapple, the egg and pea rice was bland and overcooked. Very disappointing. Wont use it again

The third time I have eaten here when staying on business at nearby Flamingoland. Fast and attentive service and an extensive menu. Everything I have tried here has been really tasty and well presented. Well stocked bar too

Well , I've given these guys more chances than a cat but alas this is the end of the road , hopefully they will read this and listen !!!!! DO NOT OFFER A DELIVERY SERVICE !!!! Do not offer a service that you have no chance of delivering , had this before and received an apology and discount voucher , if you are busy in the restaurant great , turn the phone off and save yourself from upsetting people !!!!!

My husband & I are struggling to find a really nice Indian restaurant to dine In at the moment an NOYON was recommended to us so we decided to give it a go an how happy are we that we did . We were greeted by a friendly chap an shown to our table an left to settle in for a few mins before he returned for our drinks order , after studying the menu for a while We then were asked for our order which was poppadoms - shared starter & mains . The poppadoms were fresh an crispy an the pickle tray was good too , our starters were very tasty an piping hot an well presented which is always a bonus . We ordered a sizzling special & Tikka Balti for mains they were very good an so flavoursome a good Balti is hard to find but NOYON has got it an the sizzling special was fab along side with rice & nan which was lovely an soft an full of keema , we also ordered a cauliflower Bhaji which previously in other restaurants has been way too spicy an swimming In grease this was cauliflower with a few herbs & spices an a touch of onion just perfect and as it should be ! Will we be going back you bet we will was super super scrumptious thanks NOYON for a lovely meal great service an making a pleasant evening for my husband an myself see you again soon .

We reserved a table for two person when we got there we got settled straight away , got serviced quickly staff are great food was amazing and its a lovely experince great indian restuarant in town thank you noyon.

Thought we’d give this place a try for our Xmas dinner ,arrived at 12oclock the place was nice and clean staff seemed welcoming ,we sat down than waited half an hour for someone to take our order from the set menu ,the starter was very nice there was a choice of three mains but no description as to what they were ,there was a choice of rice or nam with the curry not both only five mains were brought to the table not seven even though we waited an hour so two of us had to wait even longer the curry we nice but so sweat nobody could eat much ,by the time we’d finish the mains our 16 month old had had enough and was getting tired so we asked if we could take the puddings home the waiter looked very unhappy about this and ignored me so I went to pay and asked again at the bar he also looked unhappy about it when we got home and opened them we had been given 2 puddings for 7 people ,all in all a very disappointing experience and we will not be going back .there was also only 3 tables booked so don’t no why we had to wait so long

Lovely atmosphere and really helpful staff. I felt very reassured that my food would be gluten free and I could eat with confidence.

The place was briiliant in every way, I couldn't fault anything. It's as simple as that. Will be returning asap.

Ordered 2 completely different curry’s and they were both near on identical. Sweet, bland, coconuty crap. We had to leave it - it was that bad. The bhaji was dry and bland and the garlic naan was missing the garlic. Very poor, that’s twice now - we will never go back again

Went on Saturday 12 in the party,it was very busy and the atmosphere was good and the food was lovely.

Visiting for War Weekend needed a takeaway as babysitting grandson so his parents could enjoy an evening out. Had menu in cottage where we were staying, also looked on-line. We opted for delivery as it stated on-line we would get a discount. When we phoned to order I mentioned this was told website was out of date. Also had to explain where in Pickering we were staying as they didn’t seem to know where it was. They phoned just as leaving and asked if someone could lookout for them. Food when it arrived was very good, tasty and hot. Will certainly use them again

Went there with friends who go regularly, they love the place. The menu had a good choice of food but everything seemed to look the same and to be honest couldn't really taste the difference, we both had chicken dishes. Our friends had lamb dishes, his lamb dish was really different to any other lamb dish we had tasted, it was tasty and had a slight taste of mint in it. Staff were friendly, but there again they should be, especially with regulars. Having visited India and been in their kitchens, Indian restaurants here in England are just no where near as good or anything like. Not in a rush to return.

I have eaten at Noyon may times and the food is top notch. However,I found the manager a little standoffish but as I said,the food is wonderful.

Visited the Noyon whist on holiday in the North Yorkshire Moors, we usually go to the other "Indian" in Pickering but found the Noyon by accident.

Only the second time, I have had to reach for salt on the table of an Indian restaurant, pretty much sums up the situation. That unfortunately did not add any spice to my dish I have had spicier lasagne. Funny thing is 2 days prior I had spoken with a local who proclaimed it the better Indian in the area. I suppose it goes to show that if you are used to poor quality, average seems great.

We use Noyon on a regular basis both eating in and take away. The food is always delicious and the service is second to none. The staff are always friendly and helpful I would highly recommend this place

Visited Noyon on a recent family break. I found this place to be average and not as good as Indians back home. The Lamb I had could have done with been cooked a bit longer and slower. Don't get me wrong, I would visit again but wouldn't have the lamb.

Eat here once a fortnight, and have done for years... The only Indian in town that can cook the Curry I like, despite it not being on the menu.. Always friendly, dead chatty.

We were staying in the area for 2 nights and decided on Noyon for our first nights meal after looking at the reveiws. Managed to park the car right in front of the restaurant which was good. It was a Tuesday night and there were just a handful of people in. But the phone kept ringing for takeaways. The food was lovely and tasty without it been too hot. I had the Noyon special which was chicken and lamb in a really nice sauce. The meat was lovely and tender. The staff were nice and friendly too, which is always good. Would come again if staying in the area.

We were visiting the area and chose to order a takeaway here basically because we knew we could find it without getting lost! We weren't disappointed. All four or us chose a different main which we then shared. We made an effort to choose things that don't appear on our local takeaways menu to try something different. All the dishes we chose were good, the lamb rajisthani was lovely, much hotter than I would normally eat but the flavour was worth it. Not only did everything taste good it looked lovely too, very colourful! We would eat from here again.

Decidimos ir aquí después de pasar por nuestra visita a Pickering. Es un lugar encantador con simpáticos camareros. Ee había menú de 2 y no nos decepcionó. La comida estaba bien y bien cocinado todo salió caliente y muy bien presentada. No nos apuraron a través de los campos. Nos dieron un 15% de descuento, ya que era un domingo, esto hizo que el menú vale la pena.

We called in to this Indian and were very pleased with our meals. We both had the Special Malayan which was delicious and will be going back on our next visit in September. Staff were efficient and helpful and very friendly. We love our indian food and enjoyed our meals in this restaurant. Will definitely return.

Only in Pickering overnight staying at the Best Western. Decided to eat at Noyon and it didn't let us down. It was fabulous. Very clean restaurant. Exceptionally attentive and pleasant staff and quick service. Food was the best we had had in ages. Can't get Chasni in Manchester anymore as our favourite restaurant was taken over. Worth coming all the way back for in the near future. Well done Noyon.

I picked my husband up here from a night out a couple of weeks ago & as I was early, they were still eating - I sampled all three meals & have to say they were all outstanding. Chicken Chasni was my favourite - a new dish, I was told, & thoroughly delicious - although the other two were also excellent (Raja Rani was one of them).The staff were really friendly & the service was excellent. We will definitely be making this our restaurant of choice in Pickering.

Where to start? Having booked to show up and the staff say they don't take bookings was the ideal start. Half of the drinks didn't show up until after the starters. When we enquired about them the reply we received was "oh sorry, it's not my fault. I've been busy and I forgot" - evidently pad and paper is something that has missed Noyon.The mains didn't come for an hour and a half after the starters - and it was only when they came that the plates we had eaten the starters off were cleared.The food came and was all coloured with an identical red sauce - the starters and mains were comprised of poor quality meat and tasteless sauce (to put it lightly). When looking at trip advisor we've been amazed at the amount of 5* reviews - even if the main chef had a day off etc you'd expect the rest of them to be able to cope well enough, but this clearly isn't the case. Poor food and poor service. Without a shadow of a doubt the worst Indian we've ever had and none of the 8 of us would even dream of coming back.

Brilliant food had a takeaway was full flavour well worth money staying at flamingo land will pass on for food excellent food and do delivery so we up soon again will be in or get deliverey.

Decent curry. Nothing special but certainly ok. Give a number of special price breaks which make this very good value.

We haven't been here for quite a few years as Pickering has excellent asian food restaurants but thought we would give it a try. We both enjoyed our meal and have no hesitation in recommending it although we will stick with our favourite down the road.

We first visited in 2015 and returned last night as we were in the area again. Very attentive service. I had the Indian 'scotch' egg starter wich was superb a sort of bengal kofta wrapped around a boiled egg then biriani. Wife had garlic Chili chicken. One of best she's had. Apparently, they also cater for a curry train experience on the Pickering to grosmont steam train service.

Early bird offers make this restaurant even better the food is delicious with an imaculate restaraunt and perfect staff this one is the best by far

Ordered our usual Sunday night takeaway through Hungry House but this time my dad's prawn saag had a long black hair in it which completely turned him off of his meal and he couldn't eat it. I emailed Noyon about it but haven't had a reply let alone an apology. It's put us off of ordering from here again.

Driving through Pickering late evening in need of some tea decided to give it a try. Very friendly welcome, nice eating area, good selection of drinks and most importantly a fantastic array of food. Looking forward to another visit.

We had 3 takeaways from here last week during a week's walking holiday. 16 meals in total and every one was excellent. Superb flavours and helpful advice for newbies and vegetarians. Strongly recommended.

After trying one of the other Indian restaurants in Pickering, we thought we'd try this one - having looked inside previously it looked smaller, quieter and more spacious which suits us.The four of us had poppadoms and pickles (beware the lime pickle - very hot as it is most places!), then we had four fairly mild mains (my Dad said his biryani was warmer than he was expecting). The peas pilau rice was particularly nice, as was the peshwari naan.Service was fairly quick, and the staff very polite.Food on a par with the other Indians in town, service and restaurant ambience slightly better in my opinion. But I do think Pickering has three very good Indian restaurants!!

Me & My girlfriend went just before New Year 2016 for the first time to eat in, service wasn't the fastest but certainly not annoyingly slow.Ever since we ALWAYS order our Curry from Noyon whether it is to Take-Away or eat in.Its that nice that sometimes I want it again the next day and have to resist!Highly recommend.
