First time at this restaurant and couldn't fault it if I tried. Service was first class, friendly and helpful staff - great atmosphere. Food was excellent one of the best starter and main dishes I have had in a long time - I just wish I could remember what they were called. We will most definitely be back.

Went for a family meal with my grandson daughter and my son and daughter in law excellent meal and service and brilliant with my 2yr old grandson made us very welcome we would highly recommend paying them a visit thankyou for your service and lovely food from the miller family

Curry dishes were rather bland and lacking in flavour. This improved when we asked for them to be remade but this should not be necessary.

Fantastic service. Such friendly wait staff who went out of their way to make a lassi for our kids. Delicious curry. Great portion size and the pickle trays were so good we ordered another.

We called at the Namaste friday evening when we stopped off in Pickering, must say the menu was very varied with loads of options inc veg etc we were really spoilt for choice I had a lamb dish and my wife a chicken dish, the food was excellent !!!! super flavour . We are using Pickering as a base this summer so I will almost certainly be visiting the Namaste again couldn't fault it.

We got a take away & it’s the best we have ever had. Truly amazing food. If we are ever in the area again we will eat in. Highly recommend eating here. You won’t be disappointed

We went here three years ago and was very impressed but how things change! We were met with an abrupt welcome and was told to ‘sit over there’ - no welcomes and it felt like we weren’t expected even though we booked. The £16 combo starter is a con - we each had a bland golf ball sized bhaji, a couple pieces of meat which were more fat and gristle and breaded potatoes which had no flavour. The meat in the main courses was very overcooked and chewy. The worst thing was the service. We were cleverly upsold 2 poppadums when ordering and the waiter said ‘with pickles’ and we said yes. Little did we know we’d get a 6 pots of pickle and were charged £4 for it. I said twice I felt we were misled and I didn’t want to pay all that for 2 poppadums, but both times the waiters just argued with me. Poor customer service and not willing to address issues. Then they had the cheek to add a service charge which was not obvious on the menu! This place was half empty at 8.30pm on a Saturday night - speaks volumes.

This was our first visit to this restaurant despite living locally. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and helpful & the food excellent with plenty of choice.

Pickering No1 Indian Restaurant, Authentic indian good with a burst of flavours and all freshly prepared. Restaurant is clean, Staff are well dressed and very helpful, nothing is too much to ask for and always willing to help whether it be a query regarding the menu or a general question. Food was loved by all and to top it of we got offered a complimentary drink at the end of our meal. Absolutely amazing, one of the best indians we’ve visited and will definitely visit again when in the area. Thank you for the hospitality 5⭐️

Sorry did not like the food here, the staff are lovely and the restaurant is pleasant but the food was very disappointing and over priced, we can up for the weekend last night from Manchester and popped in around 8pm, the starters didn't have any taste they are very bland we had lamb chops and chicken chaat which tasted very much of curry powder and not much else, the chicken fingers or whatever they were was dry and tasteless the yoghurt sauce was the same with each single dish no different sauces, the mains all had a herb on them, the garlic bread had it the rice had it the curry had it Ive never never eaten food that has the same taste no matter what dish my lamb balti was the same as my partners lamb kharai we eat all over and would not recommend this place to anybody or ever return, £144 wasn't cheap either for plates full of food which we left as they were tasteless and poor quality i wouldnt recommend you go here if you like a good curry!! As these guys clearly don't know how to provide one!

Worst Indian food I ever had in such a beautiful restaurant. The restaurant itself looks pretty nice. Staff were friendly and helpful but the food was poor. I know Bengali/Indian food really well but this food is way too bad. The portion was small. All the curries were dry. Barely got any sauce to have my breads. The onion bhaji were undercooked. Tarka Dal was too small for the price of £6.95. Overpriced for other foods aswell. Overall a bad experience.

Visited Namaste Bengal while staying in a holiday cottage in Pickering last week, after seeing recommendations in the accommodation guide book and Trip Advisor. The restaurant seems very popular and was more or less full when we visited on a Thursday evening so it's a good idea to book a table. There was a good choice on the menu with some interesting chef's specials. Our choices included a deliciously spicy Garlic Chilli Chicken and a much milder Shashlick Paneer. All our menu choices were very nice and portion sizes were OK. The service was great and the staff very friendly. We'd definitely visit again, next time we're staying in the Pickering area.

This was our second meal here as we ate here last time we visited Pickering and remember it being good food and excellent service, again we were not disappointed. Great food choices with a few different options available such as a selection of fish and duck curries, polite helpful staff who cannot do enough for you. Will happily recommend Thank you and see you next time we are in the area.

Food was excellent backed up by great service. The two young men that served us couldn’t have been more polite and helpful. Happy to pay the service charge that was added on and that we were told about when the bill was presented to us. Would happily go back.

I loved this restaurant visited on a Saturday night hadn't booked booked but was shown to a table not a problem, had a jalfezi which was nice and spicy also a rice and nan all of which were lovely. The staff were really good and service was great. I was even offered a complimentary drink after my meal. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. A great experience.

Fantastic meal had on Valentines day, our first meal out in ages (young kids etc) food was lovely. The staff and service were exceptional, Giving us a ten minute breather post poppadoms/starters was a nice touch! . Good to know we have great restaurant right on our doorstep! Will be back!

This place was recommended by a colleague at work so I attended soon after with my Brother after being in the area. Very nice food, lamb was very well cooked and vindaloo was nice a spicy! The sheep kebab was cooked very well and the naan bread was crispy and tasty. We will be coming back for more. Can't beat a good Indian!

Booked on the off chance having read the reviews and we were not disappointed. Always a fan of Indian/Bengali food and I would normally go for a standard Jalfrezi but chose one of the milder chicken pea dishes and it was so tasty. Good sized portions excellent service, will be back next time I am in the area.

Our first visit to Namaste was a really good experience. We'd booked for 7 so it was reasonably quiet but soon got busy. We realised why when our food came. It was so fresh, perfectly cooked and very well presented. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. The ambience is modern but very relaxing, with pleasant, unobtrusive music. We will definitely return and bring friends. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

Lovely place to sit in and eat, however chicken was abit tough on the starter, tikka masala hardly no chicken far to watery and too much sauce with not much meat, not much taste to a masala. My son still felt hungry after his main. Expensive dishes £13.50. Not many chips . Overall service was very good but not to leave a service charge of £11 when your meal already is expensive.

Indian food is a bit tricky when ordering from an unknown restaurant. I listened carefully to the waiter, and he guided me towards some sound choices that matched my palate. My entree was excellent, and my main equally good. Other little aspects of the food were a huge difference with other UK Indian restaurants. The management and the team seem to have this right. I had a great night and a great meal even if the staff did not understand my football interests that varied from their game of choice. At least we agreed on cricket, although different teams. I hope I can return and enjoy the hospitality again.

Wanted to eat there tonight,called in around 6.30pm and asked if we needed to book a table for around 8.00pm and they said no. We got there about 8.20pm and it didn't look really busy but one of the staff asked us to wait in the bar area for 5 mins. Then when he came back told us that they were only taking bookings for take away. Why didn't they let us book a table earlier,think it's just that they couldn't be bothered. Anyway they did us a favour because we went to spice 4 u and it was delicious and the staff were lovely.

A truly wonderful dining experience, I booked two weeks before as we were on holiday in Scarborough, it was an opportunity to meet up. There were 10 in our family party, the staff were very attentive and helpful. We all chose different dishes, the portion sizes are quite big. We shared some foods and i had the opportunity to taste some unusual dishes i don't normally have at home from my usual restaurant. The whole experience was perfect for the whole family. We look forward to going back when we are in the area again, thank you.
