Had a take away last night and both curry’s were excellent the starters were very fresh and tasty, enjoyed the whole meal and would definitely recommend a meal here .

Varied menu and generous portions. Quality food with a wide range of dishes to suit every palate. The pheasant dishes are highly recommended and the delicious naan complements every dish. Will definitely be back, thank you!

Under the new ownership this restaurant produces fresh tasty Indian/Bangladeshi food and offers very friendly and attentive service. We just had one of the best Christmas lunches ever there today. Just go there and find out for yourself.

Fusion Spice(no longer Desi Spice) has become our favourite place for Indian food. The new chef is cooking great tasting meals that all seem to be using fresh ingredients and are excellent value. We are so impressed that we have just booked our family Christmas Dinner here - just £19.95 for the whole meal and coffees! They are new owners and we hope they get previous customers returning to give them a try, as we’d hate to loose them.

First visit following new owners. The food was excellent and the new owners are good hosts. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

I cannot rave enough about this restaurant! The best Indian food I have ever tasted and their tikka masala is to DIE for! The staff are so friendly and it's always a great night out.

Lots of things to recommend about Fusion Spice (no longer Desi Spice). Great food, staff, bring your own booze, massive 'family' nan, dishes individually cooked to order. Great that they can vary the heat of a dish to suit, and pheasant & venison curries a rare treat. These guys really deserve to do well.

We have used the new Fusion restaurant quite a few times now and the food is fab. Try the Chicken Tikka Chom Chom, Chicken pieces with potato and chick peas, very tasty ! Staff are friendly and welcoming.

What can I say?: excellent! take your own bottles of fizz 🥂*** My friend’s birthday and was fab; they helped make it special! I’m not keen on Indian per se; but my chicken tikka and keema rice was beautiful and they converted a non nut or spice eater to being their cuisine lover too! Really great service, friendly staff, fair pricing, excellent fresh Columbia coffee and oh and on site parking. ***You can take own bottles of wine in with no corkage fees! Well done guys! X

I had a takeaway from Fusion Spice (formerly Desi Spice) this evening with my son and it was delicious. So it took 30 minutes to prepare but this is reasonable I feel for freshly cooked, carefully made food.Perhaps it takes a bit longer during busy periods but this is standard for popular restaurants. Recommend the garlic chilli chicken if you like it medium to hot and well spiced.

Just been to Fusion Spice for the Wednesday Buffet night and it was fantastic! Lovely selection of Chicken, Lamb and vegetable main dishes ranging from Mild to hot and a few nice starters. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Would definitely recommend to anybody and will definitely be back.

We had been to this restaurant when it was the Desi Spice Club. Now called Fusion Spice. Nice atmosphere, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff. Our meal was really impressive and this coming from people that eat lots of curries. We would recommend this place highly.

Had a really nice meal - good service and great food, one of the better Indian meals I’ve had for a while. And the family nann is amazing, but make sure you’re hungry before ordering it!

Under new ownership and the all you can eat buffet is back good food a lot better than the previous owners (who had obviously lost all interest in the place) proper chicken again not rubbery blocks of it like the last lot used to serve up Will be back

Staying in North Yorkshire for the weekend we were looking for a place to eat and thought we’d try the Indian at the end of the street- what a fantastic find! We were greeted warmly and shown to our seats. Food was excellent, we enjoyed delicious a bhuna, balti, saag paneer and an enormous family naan (too big for 2 people!). The food was so fresh and not in the slightest bit greasy. Portions are generous with some novel presentation. Complimentary coffee was a fantastic way to end the meal. We would definitely return if we were next in the area. Thank you for a great evening!

Had a take away Saturday night the chicken was very poor quality ended up in bin.very disapointed give it a miss

We ate here this evening and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the staff. Not being able to decide what we wanted to order we suggested that four different dishes of the chef's choice would be a good idea, and it was. Three chicken and one lamb dish were extremely tasty along with the usual rice, naan and poppadums.

This has just been taken over and now might be called Fusion Spice by the time this is posted, however the new people are great. Very friendly and willing to adapt food. All our food was excellent. Looking forward to returning when next in area.

Very disappointed after reading good reviews. Service was practically non existent. We were a party of 4. We ordered our food and one drink each. Food was ok nothing special. We were not asked once if the food was ok or if we require anymore drinks or desserts. It was as if they just couldn't be bothered. The two waiters spent all night at the till counter out of our view for most of the night. We left and went back to our accommodation nearby for a few drinks. Would not recommend.

The food is great, but if you order to take away when they're busy they ask you to wait 50 minutes, then get the order wrong so you have to reorder, wait, and do a second drive to finally get the food you wanted.

Turned up at 7 on a Wednesday evening without booking. Only another couple of tables occupied and a lot of the time it was just ourselves. Extensive menu with banquet option to save money. The chicken tikka chom chom starter was delicious as was the Afghani style chicken. The chicken tikka masala was a little sweet for my daughter's taste but that didn't stop her eating it! The naan breads were light and everything was fresh and hot. Even the puddings were nice - the usual frozen ones.

Fantastic food, mediocre service. Everything we ate was lovely but not once did a waiter ask if things were ok or come across except to serve food or clear dishes. The staff seemed thoroughly miserable the whole time we were there, although maybe that's because we were the only ones in the restaurant on a Friday night. The food was absolutely faultless though, from the monkfish tikka starter to the duck curry main.

Normally I associate chicken tikka as a mild dish that people who don't actually like Indian food order at curry houses. It often comprises of dried out pieces of meat. Not here! The chicken tikka is absolutely superb, full of flavour and not at all dried out. Their tikka shaslick is full of complex flavour and multi layers of heat and spice. This is a really great Indian restaurant and well worth a detour.

Have eaten here on many occasions both in the restaurant and takeaways as we live locally but never written a review before.

Had a take away last night, one of the best ever.The wife had Afgani style lamb Tikka with pilau rice, I had Nawabi Khana chicken tikka with mushroom rice. A side of aloo gobi and a couple of nam`s mouthwateringly delicious.

Been here a few times. Always good food. Very well cooked, well presented and tasty. The banquet nights are really good value. The menu is good. Good variety of foods available and the prices are very reasonable. They do take aways too.It was quite busy this time and the service was a little bit slow, but food well worth waiting for.

Having visited here at the spur of the moment we were greeted with a very warm welcome an shown into the restaurant which was very well laid out an spotlessly clean , we were asked about drinks & then left with adequate time to study the menu , we then gave our order when we were ready , when the food came it was very well presented an piping hot an on tasting it was exceptional very good , everything was how you expect a meal out to be an we will not hesitate to come here again an hopefully it won't be too long before we do thankyou desi spice 10/10 for service & quality :)

Best Indian restaurant that I have been to and will definitely be returning when next in the area. The food is amazing, the staff are superb and the restaurant offers excellent value for money in lovely surroundings.

This Indian restaurant and take away is possibly one of if not thee best one in the area by miles. Excellent food and staff and not expensive. This our third visit and are due back in a few days, yum yum.

I came here last week with a couple of friends and absolutely loved experience. There was a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, had a good time with the guys. The waiter was very pleasant and served us well. The food was well worth the money. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good value curry.

Had a Christmas dinner with friends here. Excellent yet again -superb food, modern clean decor, this experience was made that little bit more special by the very attentive and assured service. Overall it was a very special Christmas eve and a very special dinner.

This was our first visit. From the start were well looked after by the friendly staff. The food was fantastic, really good presentation and taste. We were delighted all the way through from starters to our mains. We left feeling happy and satisfied. Highly recommended, and we will return.

I normally find chicken tikka to be fairly bland and often very dried out chicken but the chicken tikka here is fantastic. I dont know what they do but the chicken tikka here is totally different and is one of my favourite starters. They do a great value banquet night where you can choose any starter main and sides from the menu the service is good and it is lovely inside.

A nicely decorated Indian with good food. Attentive staff good value. Try the Desi special and the naan bread is great. Good for children, there is a good fish tank!

This was supposed to be girls night out and a reunion with a few friends. Great seats but terrible food. We ordered some samosas meat and veg both tasted like they were cooked 5hours ago and reheated and served to us. We were sure it was undercooked or heated because of the cold veg's in the middle of the samosa.It wasn't that busy so we thought they'd put some care into their food. Perhaps not.We ordered the Korai and chicken tk masala. The chicken tk masala was so creamy all you can taste is chicken with cream. The chicken used Korai was rock solid- it was like a gobstopper. The pilaw rice was standard thus I gave it a 2 and not 1 star.

We went to desi spice because we were staying just around the corner, had visited a few fine dining restaurants in the area on previous nights and just needed simple food that didn't need to much thought to eat. What we weren't expecting for our 11.95 each was to be so full that we couldn't even finish. This won't be the greatest curry you will ever eat but it will almost certainly be one of the best value meals you'll ever have. The menu had some really interesting dishes including fish, game and home style meals. We will go back to try the more 'unusual' dishes.

Banquet night was well worth it, £11.95 was very good value for money as you recieved a hell of a lot of food which was very nice and to top it off your first round of drinks free!

For our last day in North Yorkshire, we visited Hutton-Le-Hole and planned to visit Desi Spice on the way back and luckily it was a Wednesday when they have a 'special offer' on of dishes of your choice for £11.95.We were warmly greetezd as I had pre-booked via email and they knew that we werez returning to Spain the next day.My wife loves seabass so she has the "Sea Bas Tikka' `nd I had meat Samosa' starters.I had the Afghan Style chicken and my wife had 'Apna Swadh" Sea-bass cooked Punjabi style. She said that she really enjoyed it as did I my dish.It does help the meal 'go-down' if one goes to the t rouble of learning how to say "Thank you" in thie language so just try to say "Danyabad" and see what response you get; I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

We were pointed in the direction of this restaurant during our recent stay in a little guesthouse around the corner. We were lucky to get a table at short notice and were not disappointed in the quality of the food served. Our party of four started with poppadums' and chutney tray followed by some delicious dishes including Chicken Balti and Tandoori mixed grill. The staff were helpful, obliging and happy to remove an ingredient that I cant tolerate from the recipe so that I could have my favourite . Overall an enjoyable evening and certainly worth a visit.

One of the best Indians we have experienced, excellent value and the food was of a good quality Service good and a roomy atmosphere.

My husband and I had a meal here whilst staying locally. We were not made to feel welcome and when we asked for a glass of wine it was as if they did' nt normally serve wine. The food was ok but nothing outstanding. Had we been greeted in a friendly manner we would have returned.

We noticed this place while staying in the area and decided to get a takeaway one night. Really glad we did - varied menu with lots of authentic Bangladeshi dishes we had never tried before, plus unusual meats (pheasant, venison). Pleasant staff who explained the dishes to us. We were impressed - everything we ordered was top quality, really nicely spiced and plenty of it. For starters, we tried mini fish samosas and chicken tikka/pakoras, then for mains really nice Chicken Tikka Niralee, King Prawn Bindya and a really nice lamb dish. Star of the show was the Bhindi Bhaji (okra) which was just amazing. Wish we had a place like this near us. Highly recommended for takeaway.

The food here is really nice food and I really enjoyed the food. However, there was quite a long wait for the food and it was not very busy at all. There was only us and one other table and it still took a while to get our food. Although even thought it took time the food was actually really nice. Would recommend but would advise to try and go at the less busy times are I can imagine it would be an extensive wait for food if the place was full

Pleased to see that they have got rid of the buffet and gone back to table service. The buffet had rather put me off going but I will be returning more often now as the food is consistently good and their bread is always to die for.

Having just seen the last poster's review - a bit shocked about their service experience! But have to say - I very rarely review restaurants but felt compelled to say 'well done' on here for tonight - between three of us I think we ordered an eclectic selection of dishes and all of them were very, very good. We were the only ones in the restaurant all night - think everyone was having a quiet one after the busy May Bank Holiday. So service was great. But the food was better - really outstanding - having had a couple of disappointing curries recently on Brick Lane in London this was a refreshing change! (Might avoid busy days though when visiting in the future!)

Oh dear, where does one start! Came here a couple of weeks ago with some girlfriends - a Friday night - and apart from one other table of about 6 people we were the only diners. Maybe this is where Mr Desi has got it wrong expecting only a handful of diners on any one night.How wrong can you get it? We made a last minute decision to eat there on Sunday May 1st, one of their banquet nights, May Bank holiday weekend, day of the local KMS 10K, charity tractor run and the Tour de Yorkshire. We arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was already very busy, many of the diners being locals. Our drink order was taken and we were brought two glasses of wine promptly. We then waited for our food order to be taken. Two other parties were seated near us and their orders taken, whilst we waited... After some time, my husband managed to get the attention of one of the waiters and asked if our order could be taken. Two minutes, was the waiter's reply. Someone duly arrived a couple of minutes later and we placed our order and asked for two more glasses of wine. The wine came and the waiter took my husband's empty glass and my unfinished first glass!!! Then we waited and waited... with all the other increasingly irritated but patient customers. We eventually got our starters after over an hours wait and sadly they were not really worth waiting for. Following another lengthy wait for our main course (an hour and a half after we had arrived) we decided to follow another party who had had enough and leave. As we went towards the bar, the party in front of us were faced with a barrage of foul language from one of the waiters even though they were very polite about their dis-satisfaction and offering to pay for what they had had so far(which wasn't much!) We were initially given a bill for £20.00 and then were asked if we had had our main course. On replying 'no; the waiter suggested we call it a tenner and tossed two complimentary chocolates on the bar. Although the waiting staff were obviously under pressure from an understaffed kitchen, they were incredibly lacking in customer relations, not offering one apology for the considerable delays. As for the language used by one... totally unacceptable!Not good Mr Desi Spice, not good at all!

Thought I'd treat the kids ,been before and had no problems, but last night , we waited over three-quarters of a hour before asking where our starters were, to be told it was coming, never mind that two tables who had come in after us had got theirs,after waiting another twenty minutes, we went to leave, to be told they were being taken to our table, Sat down to eat them,then waited another twenty minutes without the main course coming by which time three other tables had walked out, decided we couldn't wait any longer as we needed to be somewhere else, told them we were leaving, they said it was ready, said I would take it away with us ,another ten minutes wait til it finally arrived, as we were leaving another table walked out

What can I say the title says it all 11 of us service and food spot on (as per usual)maybe local restaurants need to pay a visit and see what service is!

We went on a Thursday night (banquet night) which included starter, main, side, rice/naan and first drink, all for £9.95!! Food was absolutely delicious. Service was brilliant, my friend asked if he could have potato added to his curry, this was no problem and said whatever we wanted he would make. Couldn't fault a thing.

I was staying in black swan hotel and asked them where can I get good Indian curry from because I love Indian food with my work I have to travel a lot so I know wen I taste a good curry believe me I think the curry here is the best reminds me of Bradford curry house and the service was excellent

We visited Desi spice club because it was a midpoint for all our friends to meet up. My friends came from Pickering and Kriby moor-side and we were from Helmsley. It was group of 10 on a Saturday night and we all enjoyed the food and service. My friends from Pickering commented on how good food tasted as they have 3 Indian restaurants in Pickaring and value for money we will be back thanks Desi spice

We did the 9,95,00 deal at the Desi Spice club for the first time tonight, and we got lots of lovely food. I think it's even nicer the fact that it's 9,95 but it is a lovely, clean and Tidy restaurant I think.

After passing numerous times and saying we must pop in, tonight we finally did and I have to say it was well worth popping in! The menu is good with plenty of choice including some more unusual fish and game dishes which were a welcome surprise. The welcome was friendly and efficient with us quickly being brought drinks and poppodoms to the table. I chose a seabass dish and my husband chose a pheasant dish both of which were delicious. We will definitely be recommending this place for both the food and the service and will be returning ourselves.

Can not fault the night, friendly staff, excellent food, very clean establishment and well priced. Really liked the locality touch with Pheasant and venison. Will return.

As we were closing the caravan at a site near-by we decided to eat here and have the Banquet for £9.95 this consists of starter,main dish and a side dish and a naan,the food was beautiful tasty,really nice spices and hot.The staff were friendly and helpful we even had a little joke with them which made the evening more fun.Nothing was too much trouble for them I can highly recommend this eatery I couldn't fault it at all and I dont think the diners after us will too. Definitely worth a visit

Best indian ever! We have visited the desi spice in halifax and it was worth the visit, so now we come here and again im really impressed by the quality of the food and service from staff. They had a banquet which consists any starter, main dish, side dish and any rice or naan. Also a free first drink!!!! For only 9.95We will deffo be coming back

On arrival the staff where pleasant enough and service was quick. I had the Vindaloo and it tasted quite unlike ones I've tasted before. Chicken was a bit rubbery too. I overheard anoyher customer complain about soft poppadoms, the member of staff offered no appology either. I thought it was overpriced given the quality of food on offer. Also on departure there was no 'thank you & goodbye'. Wish I'd tried the other Indian restaurant in Helmsley instead. You live and learn.

Wonderful food and surroundings, a brilliant selection on the menu. Very friendly staff and great customer service. After visiting the area for years and saying we must try this restaurant and we finally did, we were not disappointed. Excellent all round!

While staying locally on holiday we popped in for a take away one evening.Both out dishes were very tasty, and not over powering with just enough heat.The garlic nan was a bit of a disappointment and not as good as many.

Visited this restaurant on Tuesday 4th August.Have had Indian food in various places before, but this beat all the others hands-down!The staff were so friendly, it was like being at home. The food was unbelievable. There were five of us in our party, and we all ordered something different. We allhad a taste of each others' food and every dish was unbelievably delicious. If you are passing by and are hungry, would certainly recommend that you stop offhere. You will not be dissapointed!!

We had a gorgeous meal here, great portions, nice a hot, very very tasty, reasonably priced. We found staff very helpful and the service wasn't super fast but not slow either - a relaxing pace! Bottles of wine very well priced for a restaurant. We only popped in here after looking at the FSA rating for the indian in town and were really glad we opted for this one instead! Enjoy.

The food was really good, perhaps the best Indian food that I have tasted, mellow and extremely tasty. The the service polite and friendly, if a little slow, as there was only one waiter who doubled as receptionist for the Takeaway.The advertising is misleading as there is no buffet, despite the fact that this is clearly advertised on their literature. Fortunately the delicious food makes up for the other shortcomings.

Picked up a menu from this restaurant clearly states Buffet Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday.We have had one here before so gathered the family and off we went on Sunday night 14/6/15 for a Buffet. Was told no Buffet we don't do it.so why is the menu both on the desk and outside say you do? we are waiting for new menu's. This happened to me last year and we ended up eating in on their normal menu But not this time we all got back in our cars and went to pickering. Cross it off the back of the menu not let people think you are providing a service you don't!!..

This restaurant was recommended by a friend and we were very impressed with the food and also the service.The menu has a great selection with some different curries but also had the old favourites too.Only downside is the sign saying they only accept cash, we managed to scrape just enough together to cover the bill otherwise it would have been a bit embarrassing!

As a local I've used both the restaurant and take away service a number of times in the past and have always been happy. However, recently I had a takeaway which was far from satisfactory. The duck starter was ok and the rice pretty much the same as you'd expect. However, the peshwari naan was rubbery and unpleasant and the dish of butter chicken simply uneatable. The chicken pieces were hard and overcooked - they seemed like scrag ends. The sauce was just bland. The order cost £15 for one person. I couldn't help thinking what a great meal that would have bought from M&S or Waitrose! I must say, the staff are always lovely. Overall, though, a poor experience. Perhaps I just hit a bad night?

Very helpful staff, who when I asked for the most authentic dish slightly changed the recipe to accommodate. The food was full of flavour. Both me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed all the food and would highly recommend this restaurant. It was beautiful and clean, with very friendly helpful staff!

The food is still amazing here although when we last visited the service was very slow as the staff were concentrating on the takeaway side of the business and pretty much ignoring the restaurant bookings. This was so disappointing as previously the service has been impeccable. Will not hurry back as we all felt as though we were an inconvenience and as a party of 12, the bill certainly added to to more than a few takeaways which unfortunately took precedence.

Went to Desi Spice Club on a Sunday night whilst staying with friends in nearby Pockley. Have driven past it many times before but decided to give it a try.Menu is very intersting with many fish and game dishes not seen elsewhere. I went for the more traditional Chicken Dhansak and my partner had a Chicken Biriani. Both meals were very good as were the accompanying Sag Bhaji, Onion Bhaji, Tarka Dhal & Nan Bread.Prices are a little higher than what we are used to but all in all it was good value.The menu and signs in reception still state that they do not take credit/debit cards, but when we queried this (before we ordered as we had no cash on us!) the manager assured us that they now have a card machine.The decor and general ambience of the restaurant is pretty neutral, and not particularly exciting, but neither did it distract from us having a very good meal.We will definitely visit the Desi Spice Club next time we are in the area.

Stumbled across this restaurant whilst looking for an evening meal.On entering, we were met by welcoming staff and shown to our table.The menu contained a varied choice, including dishes using game. The whole meal was a delight, plentiful and tasty.The only down side is that they only accept cash payment, which wasn't apparent until after we had sat down.

We visited Desi Spice in early March after helping my father set up the caravan they have on a local site in Wombleton and decided to have a curry on the way home. Despite only being up in the area on and off between March and October each year, it is wonderful that Callum remembers not only my father, but also us and asks how we are with various things he remembers from our previous visits. This always makes you as a customer feel far more valued. The food was, as ever, excellent and it's great that they have both game and venison on the menu to make things a little different.Value for money is good, and we look forward to many more meals there over the summer.

This is a little gem,middle of nowhere (but on a main road) I don't know what's changed but the food is fantastic

After a few cheeky drinks with friends just before Christmas we called in quite late & we were well looked after by the team. They were very accommodating with 5 main dishes ordered & a good selection of sides one of which was specifically made without any problem at all. Extensive menu, reasonable prices and very good and attentive service.

in the 12 months we have probably had half a dozen take outs from here and every time the food is good, not great. But good. Curry are hot, fresh and tasty, even if the chicken last time did taste slightly rubbery. We will be returning for a take away. Probably in a bout 2 months and I expect everything will fine as usual. Not had a meal in the restaurant and can't see that changing.

absolutely awful, food terrible do not have the buffet!!! enough said.curries are just two colours yellow and red, everything is chicken or chicken.

this restaurant was very clean the waiters were very helpful when we asked about the different dishes will definitely visit here again when we are in the area again

We have had takeaways many times from here and although quite expensive always been ok. We decided to eat in this time and although the food was pretty much the same as the takeaway we got stung by the drinks bill. What upset us was the charge of £2.50 for the coffee, we sent the first ones back as they had a distinctly sour taste which they said was the filter so we watched them empty the coffee filter replace the paper filter fill it with water then put a spoon of Nescafé in each cup! We won't be returning in a hurry !

We have been regulars of this restaurant even since it opened over six years ago. Our most recent visit was most disappointing and we shall not be returning. We opted for the buffet. The poppadoms were soggy and tasted old. The dishes, all mainly chicken, whilst relatively tasty were very indistinct and rather cold. Most astonishing were the random prices which did not seem to correspond to what was advertised. We were stunned when we questioned a drinks bill for £11.50 for two soft drinks and a bottle of beer, to be told that we were being charged almost £4 for a large glass of lemonade which I saw him pouring out of a supermarket brand large plastic bottle. That is a pretty hefty profit for them and pretty unjustifiable I think. Shame, but they have just lost some pretty loyal customers! :(

I went on a night with no buffet but it was still great. Beware, the large glasses of wine are very big and you won't be able to drive home!

great food great service great ambience...... highly recomend you find this lovely little treasure.... very inviting and would eat there every time while visitng this area... you will not be disappointed unlike my review of helmsley spice restaurant, dont get them confused...

We use to go to spice club all the time but we stop going after they put the buffet on 6 days a week just been to see if any change has been from befor my god I was surprise they have a new menu inside and they only do 2nights buffet now Wensday and Sunday which I will not be going on these nights But over all the food and service was 10 out of 10 well done
