La Pizzeria in Ryedale

Just amazing I have reviewed this restaurant on Google and the response I received has led me to review again on here. Service was ok but it's just a run of the mill pizza place in my opinion.........then someone decided to comment that I "should stick to dominoes in the future" That is very professional of them and I rest my case...... oh just incase you were wondering I won't be back.

The food was lovely and service very good. Unfortunately when I asked for the desert menu I was told we had to leave in 5 minutes or sit at the bar, so my birthday night out came to an abrupt end and we had to go elsewhere. Having looked at the website this morning it does state a time limit but it is in yellow and can hardly be seen. So don’t expect a long leisurely dinner.

Stumbled across this delightful Italian restaurant. Good range of food on the menu with proper pizza oven. Nice wine list too. My linguine caprese was delicious and my husband’s carbonara excellent. Lovely staff. It was full on a Thursday night so you might be best to book.

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Really good food and a balanced wine list. It gets deservedly busy so booking is essential.

Excellent evening catching up with a friend, food was absolutely delicious, will special thanks to the chef slightly changing a dish so I could eat it and the dessert of the raspberry prosecco possett was divine one of the best meals I have had in a long time so good this is on our doorstop lovely evening thank you

An off chance visit for dinner. Luckily for us we managed to get a table. Loved the food the best melanzane parmigiana ever. Hubby had the cod. The portions are large but so worth a visit. Staff like everyone in Malton were lovely. Highly recommended. Booking recommended.

An amazing little Italian Bistro in Malton, every dish every drink absolutely lovely recommend the pizza, the prawn skewers & the calamari…desserts & coffee Perfect! Attention to detail & great service x 🩵👏🏻

We were given a warm welcome, with friendly and helpful service throughout the evening. Everyone enjoyed the food, although it was busy the food arrived hot and we did not have a long wait. We will certainly be visiting again.

The combination of very appetising food in looks & taste, combined with friendly service made for a great night out in Malton. Walking distance an added bonus 😀 And their breakfast / brunch is the BEST

Delicious and generous portions are served at La Trattoria. The food is well flavoured with loads of choice and the service is friendly and attentive. Prices are good value and the atmosphere lively but not so much that you can't chat. Overall a lovely Italian restaurant.

Ooh, we loved this place. My middle child is food crazy and if eating were an Olympic sport, he'd be well within medal territory. He does, however, have gluten and dairy intolerances that limit where we eat as a family. La Trattoria, in Malton, does delicious gluten free pizzas that are of a size to compete with the wheat ones so he didn't feel short changed. They also allow dogs in half of it, which is great as we stopped by on a day we had the dog and he could chill out on the floor eyeing up our long molten cheese strands, hoping in vain that something would drop into his mouth. If you're in Malton, stop in for pizza, you won't regret it!

Brilliant food and outstanding service. Soraya, our waitress, was very attentive and went out of her way to make or dining experience as enjoyable as possible. My husband had the calzone, which was HUGE and I had mussels followed by asparagus risotto which were perfectly cooked and delicious. We'll be back.

Fitted us in at the last minute, even brought our table forwards when we arrived early. Very welcoming, reasonably priced and great food,made the day for us & we'll definitely pop back in (but book in plenty of time)

Amazing food we got pizza and calzone. The pizza base was so soft and yummy. All staff really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return.

We visited this restaurant for dinner and also tried out the breakfast/brunch. The pizza was excellent quality and really tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. Breakfast/brunch had a good selection on the menu and the food we had was really nice, coffee also very good....

The food is good, but I’ve really noticed portion size decreasing and prices going up. It would be too expensive now for a visit with the whole family. The other local Italian is much better value and always packed. Its a pity, as this has a nice atmosphere.

Thought we’d try this place as really fancied pizza but then the menu was so lovely we had lots of different things! The food was delicious as was the wine and the service was excellent. Reasonably priced. We will be back!

First visit, despite being very busy (bank holiday weekend) they still managed to fit us in. Tried the lobster ravioli, king prawn risotto, fennel sausage linguini, tomato and mozzarella salad and home made tiramisu. Cannot fault any of them. Just delicious and reasonably priced. We will be back.

The food and wine were excellent from the steaks to the starters and pizza. The ambiance in the restaurant varies significantly depending on where you're sat but the main issue I have is that staff appear to be under trained. Examples.. ordered a 'meat dish' and they didn't ask or mention that there were no sides included... ended up with just meat!!! Second example ordered bread and olives and a charcuterie board, they didn't mention that the board included the bread and olives!

Visited today without a reservation and got seated straight away, brilliant 2 and 3 course special options (we opted for all 3) Service and drinks options all brilliant - the pictures speak for themselves. Can’t wait to return :-)

I called in here one evening with my laptop to do some work and asked for a nice quiet corner and the staff were very helpful. The food was fantastic with a great choice on offer and all home cooked with pastas and pizzas on offer. I would highly recommend this place and now I've found I will be back! I had the seafood linguine and it was excellent! The people near me got pizzas and they looked really nice. The staff were lovely and the serving lady very cute.

We’ve been here a few times now and really enjoy it every time. You do need to book for the evening if you can. The food is lovely, friendly relaxed atmosphere - you don’t feel hurried and you can sit, eat, chat without feeling like they need the table back.

Went for lunch recently. Does what it says on the tin and does it very well. Had two pizzas. Good toppings. Thin, crispy base. Couple of cool beers. Simple, tasty, unfussy food, very well prepared. Specials board looked good too. Will be back.

Booked to have a meal here Friday evening on the strength of reviews so positive. We’re not disappointed. Started with nice cocktails in the small bar area while our table was being prepared. Terrific starters ( mussels with spicy tomato was one ) and tasty mains ( pizza/ lobster ravioli).We don’t have Italian food very often but this was as nice a meal as we have had for a long time. Excellent service and a nice vibe in the restaurant.Walked past the following morning and noticed quite a few in having breakfast. Was very tempted !

Having been given this as One of Two recommendations,to take our Evening Meal, we was fortunate at short notice,to be Allocated a Table for the Evening,at a most suitable time of 7.30.p.m. When we arrived we stood at the Entrance to be shown to our Table.Once our Table had been prepared,we were escorted slightly to the rear,but directly where there was an Open Door. Because my Other Half feels the Cold very easily,we asked if another Table was available. We were told that all Tables were booked,but the rear door could be closed,which was done without any Fuss. We ordered some Drinks being a Glass of Zinfandel Rose,along with a Pint of Poretti. The Food Menu had many Options,and for Starters we Ordered the Tomato and Basil Soup for my other half,whilst I had the Whitebait. We were both well satisfied with our Starters,and just when we thought things could not get any Better the Mains were to die for. We both decided to have The Slow Roast Tomato ,Basil, Chilli ,and Parmesan Linguine,with an Addition of the Meatballs to my Dish. These were absolutely Melt in the Mouth Dishes,and one we were both talking about the Day after.Really pleased that they could manage to Accommodate us for the Evening, and as I write this Review,we are both very much planning our next Trip to Malton ,to once again sample some more of this Fabulous Food. Thank You to all at La Trattoria who made this a Lovely Evening Well Worth a Visit.!!!

The main problem was, it was way too hot in the restaurant: even my husband had sweat rolling down his forehead. Also, I'd rather not have my Saturday evening meal with a barking dog! However, the food was nice, wine even better and prices very reasonable. If they installed aircon or fans we would return!

Lovely welcome, great service and dog friendly. Wood fired pizza, thin, crispy and the best we have had in a very long time. We just had the pizza but other interesting sounding dishes. The wine we choose was okay to accompany the pizza but sadly not an exciting wine list. A real gem of a place in Malton.

Passing by here it looked very nice inside and decided to go ask if they where dog friendly which luckily for us they wereThey had an offer on which was a coffee and pastry for £3.50 which we both decided to get The pastry was really nice and very fresh the coffee was also good Dog friendly

What was intended as a quick and easy dinner after a day of walking became a highlight of our week in Malton. The friendly and efficient service from a young team was excellent. Whilst not gluten intolerant, my partner and I have a preference for gluten-free dishes. We were therefore pleased to find out that all pizza and pasta dishes were available gluten-free. Whilst we had initially been drawn to the restaurant’s non-pasta/pizza main courses, we opted for pizza and pasta. Both dishes selected were amazing. The gluten-free pizza base was the best I have ever had, and overall it was excellent. Similarly, the pasta vongole was delicious, and we would highly recommend it.

Breakfast lunch and dinner are all brilliant with relaxed atmosphere, excellent service and reasonable prices. It has been transformed since it was refurbished during lockdown and is now a lovely place to eat at any time time of day. Special thanks to Emile Sofia Izzie and the guys in the kitchen too.

We all ate from the set menu, fantastic food and efficient, friendly staff. Starters included meatballs, mussels and arancini. Mains included wild mushroom and chicken risotto and a large selection of pizzas. Not everyone had room for a sweet, choice of lemon mousse, tiramisu or chocolate brownie. Everyone was totally satisfied with their meal. £12 for 2 courses, £15 for 3.Big thank you to the team for providing us with an excellent meal.

We were just passing through Malton on or way to our holiday venue and we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance whilst looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat. What a stroke of luck - we had a lovely meal, a very nice red wine and couldn't resist dessert (the most delicious Tiramisu i've ever had!) As well as fantastic food, the service was excellent (we were very impressed with the high level of cleanliness - the waitress immediately cleaning the tables and chairs as soon as the previous diners had left) A lovely evening , we would highly recommend this restaurant ...Thank you very much

First up, this resto is dog friendly. Tick. We came for dinner in the evening. Good selection of pasta, pizza and other Italian staples. Our pizzas were excellent. Nice wine selection too. Service was good. If you come earlier in the day you can have breakfast, and a selection of small plates is available as well.

We sat for a late dinner at la trattoria and it was fantastic. The service was well paced, friendly and attentive. The charcuterie was hand cut to order and our pizza was made in a wood burning oven so was crisp and delicious.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced but the service could have been better. We waited 20 minutes before being asked for our drinks order and food took over an hour to arrive.

Table of four. We had starters and mains. All delicious. My husband needs gluten free. No problem at all . The Boys enjoyed the guest cider and the Girls wine.We’ve been for lunch before mid week. Dinner service buzzing atmosphere and busy.One tiny point. The table was a bit small for 4 with drinks and a wine cooler to balance. Didn’t spoil our enjoyment.Will definitely be back.

Great place! My wife and I have been coming in regularly since it opened and have always loved the food. It has started doing breakfasts too. We went in yesterday for the first time and it was superb!

I had the seafood linguine, which was really tasty. Just unfortunately not given it 5* as for a seafood dish described as with prawns, mussels, clams and scallops, I had one mussel and two very small scallops, two king prawns, a few clams and the rest was very small prawns. I just expected more than one mussels and two tiny scallops. Apart from this it was really tasty and great puddings and staff.

We've had takeaway pizza from here during lockdown, so knew that to be very good: super-thin base with puffy, charred crusts. Yum! We ate in the restaurant for the first time on Saturday night and really liked it. As well as pizza, we had marinated prawns which were very nice, and found both the restaurant and the service spot on. Looking forward to going back for breakfast one day soon.

We have had takeaway pizza twice and both times excellent quality and quick service. And yesterday ate in the restaurant for the first time, the tomato bruschetta special was delicious and the slow cooked bolognese very tasty. The service was great, friendly staff, we didn't wait long for drinks or food.

We had been wanting to try the pizza here since it reopened, and we were not disappointed! We ordered a takeaway for collection and it was absolutely buzzing inside which was nice to see. The pizza had a delicious thin crust with generous high quality toppings, that tasted great. We also tried the truffle fries which were SO good, hot and crispy too which you don't normally get with a takeaway. This will be our go to for pizza now on. Looking forward to dining in sometime soon :)

This was formerly “The Pizzeria” now renamed and reopened as “La Trattoria”, Malton, offering a much more varied menu. The refurbishment had resulted in a more vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The place was buzzing tonight.We had a great meal, small dishes as starters were great, pizzas as good as any we have eaten in Italy, and interesting pasta as well as other main courses. People on the next table to us loved their Tomahawk steak. Tiramisu is made to Nona’s family recipe and the Ryeburn ice creams are the best!Fran, the owner, was a great host and it was lovely to see Emile the GM again after the long break of lockdown.Great cocktails and an interesting wine list make this the perfect all round experience. We will definitely be back very soon.

This restaurant has only just reopened. Its new staff were being very well overseen by an attentive colleague. We had a starter and mains. All the food was very good and appropriately priced. The staff looked after us very well.

We had pre-booked a table which was ready when we arrived. We were given menus then a long wait before our drinks and food order was taken, However, this was the only blip. After that the service was efficient and the food delicious. My husband has ham and mushroom pizza, I had tagliatell capricciose. Both were cooked to perfection and delicious. For dessert we had tirimasu (homemade) and chocolate brownie and ice-cream, again superb. The wine and beer were also good. This is a lovely restaurant and well worth a visit. Only wish we lived nearer!

The service was good, and the room was well set out to take in the Covid restrictions. This was the the first time I had used the restaurant, and yes, I would go back.

We found this lovely restaurant by chance last night, after training round in the pouring rain trying to find somewhere to eat. We got a warm welcome and shown to a table that certainly fulfilled the ‘social distancing’ requirements. The food seemed cheap for a nice restaurant so we didn’t know what to expect, but we weren’t disappointed. We had Bruschetta- one sunblush tomato & mozzarella and one sausage, apple & lardo which we shared. Both excellent and a bit different than normal and £5 each. We then both had traditional Lasagna which was delicious and at £10 each they are takeaway prices. The lasagna was served in glass dishes which seemed strange but didn’t distract from the quality. We will certainly come again when visiting Malton.

I am not really sure where to start with this review.We were seated and the first thing i noticed was how filthy the windows were, they were so bad. It makes you wonder what the rest of the restaurant is like if they are happy for something so visible to customers to be on show.My friend and I ordered drinks which arrived after a short wait. We then ordered 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 side dishes. After quite a long wait the waiter brings over the starters, the 2 main courses and 2 sides and proceeds to try and cram it all onto the table along with a wine cooler, wine glasses and water glasses. When i asked what he was doing his response was "yeah that's my fault" and walked off!! I called him back and told him firstly the sweet potato fries were burnt to a crisp and I wouldn't be eating them as they were literally black. I also explained it's not correct what he just did so he took the fries and my friends pizza away leaving my pasta main on the table. Really?? I think the Manager could see what was going on so came and collected my pasta. Whilst eating the starters (hardest bruschetta I have ever had) a new bowl of sweet potato fries were dumped in front of me. The idea of a side dish it that it comes with the main course.The mains were then put in front of us by the waiter with "there you go". Pasta was oily and my friends pizza barely had any topping. We both left a third each of the mains and if it wasn't for the fact we had been out all day and not eaten we would have got up and left. I called the Manager over and told him that the waiter either needs more training before you let him loose on tables, or cut your losses and let him go. He could ruin this restaurant. I also asked for the bill for what he thought we should pay for this shambles and i got a response saying "I have taken the fries off as you ate everything else). I was just about to explain we actually hadn't but he wasn't interested and walked off.There is one ladies toilet and as i went to enter i walked into an unsuspecting lady who explained that there was no lock on the door. I reported this to the Manager as this is clearly not acceptable and he said "someone broke it last night". So you have had all day to remedy a problem that would take 10 minutes. At least put a sign on the front of the door explaining the lock is broken and to knock first.On the table next to us a group kept asking for their deserts to the waiter, in the end the lady got up and got them herself.Just a complete joke of a place.

We waited well over an hour for our 2 pizzas to arrive - the restaurant wasn’t busy and no one apologised for our wait. We were put in a corner where the draft was really bad from the windows and door and we were pretty much ignored for the whole meal. We ordered a bottle of wine (£20.50) but genuinely couldn’t drink more than a glass as it was really horrible (I suspect quite cheap at source). The pizza was nice, but I don’t think this is enough to make up for the service. I wouldn’t recommend.

Finocchiona. Not a pizza that i have come across previously but i will certainly be looking out for it from now on! Whether the combination of fennel sausage, Gorgonzola and caramelised leeks will be cooked as well elsewhere though is doubtful. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. Thanks.

Went in here for tea after work, and thought I'd leave another review as the first one was when this place had just opened. The food is still really good! We requested some garlic oil to complement the pizza, which they did, and it was lovely. Good service, and they also offer food other than pizza, which is cooked in their wood fired oven. Will return.

Had the best napoleata pizza and tirimisu pudding I've had in a very long time. Wonderful food. Waitress service was a bit.. Bored.. But will definitely be going back for the food... And wine!

Turned away on a Sunday night for 3 takeaway pizzas when they Only had 7 people in dining. Strange thing is that they asked how many before saying no. Tried sending us to the takeaway up the road. Turned out fine as we went to their competition which was full of people and they were more than happy to accommodate 3 takeaway pizzas. Won't bother next time will stick with the best!

Mixed our order up and we ended up with two pizzas instead of a special and a pizza however this was quickly resolved and our food arrived. Delicious and tasty! The only point I would make is that the menu is not very big or particularly exciting and there is no seafood on it so it would not be somewhere I would personally visit regularly.

This restaurant had been recommended by a number of locals, so we simply had to try it. We were not disappointed, welcoming staff, good menu at reasonable prices. But what about the food......brilliant. Our bruschettas as starters we very tasty and well presented. The main course pizzas were exceptional value. Will visit again.

Came in off the street on a whim after a day out. The pizza was excellent (both gluten free and normal pizza). Quick and great service. Would definitely visit again.

First visit for a family evening meal, we found the staff friendly and the atmosphere good. At the time of our visit the restaurant was very busy. We ordered a variety of pizzas, lasagna and a spaghetti bolognese, however there was a slight delay for our food to arrrive. The pizzas, lasagna and bolognese were very tasty, with some of our party saying they were the best Pizzas they had tasted for a while! The found prices charged were reasonable for the food we ordered. We would have no hesitation in visiting again when next in the area.

Friendly welcome. Two of us shared an olive and meat platter - very filling as a starter. Pizzas very tasty and also filling so we couldn't finish - we brought a few slices home in a box. Still had a desert - tiramisu - which was very good.

Bought a linguine carbonara, beautifull. Served 2 people. Ordered again a week later and i would have needed 2 as a meal. Ordered a pizza, thatll be ten minutrs sir, went over 15 mins later and it was just been prepped. Currently warming my oven up to cook my takeaway pizza after been served a sloppy mess. Thanks

Visited La Pizzeria with my partner, was originally going to a different restaurant in Malton but they were fully booked so we walked along and found this place. Very pleasant, great good, friendly waitresses and not bad pricing either. Great atmosphere and clean and tidy. My pizza was delicious, great size and generous with the toppings. The staff were happy to add a few more bits of chilli and sausage into my partner's pasta without an extra charge. Lovely place to eat and happy we found it.

We went for a catch up with friends and this was the perfect place, friendly helpful staff, great atmosphere and absolutely delicious antipasto and pizza. The menu is nicely curated so you don’t have pages and pages if choices to deal with like some restaurants, they clearly value quality over quantity. Highly recommend and will be going back regularly.

We booked in for some grub before we went out on the saturday evening. We ordered 2 pizza's and a starter. There wqas plenty of toppings and All tasted great. couldnt knock it. Pleasant staff and the service was good too. Very clean too.

Too much cheese, too thick a base (especially at the edges) undercooked. Need I say more? I liked the flavour of the Italian sausage though.

I ordered aubergine parmegiana, which was a main dish, costing £10, it was an extremely small portion, minimal cheese, but tasted good.

The pizza was absolutely amazing. The dough was so tasty and texture incredible! There was plenty of cheese on the margarita which is always popular with our kids

A repeat visit yet again. A busy evening as it often is. Once again the staff were welcoming helpful polite and nothing was too much trouble. A newer member of staff was serving on and well supported by the team. Always good food and ambience. Love it here.Much more genuine than the other local pizza restaurant.

After booking fairly last minute, we arrived at the restaurant to discover they couldn’t find our booking. We were left standing in the doorway, feeling rather awkward until the girl who couldn’t find our booking finally realised that she was the one who’d taken the booking. We were then shown to a table in the window which was dirty. There was even bird poo on the table and we weren’t sitting outside! We were shown a very small menu which we were a bit disappointed with. When the waitress came to take our order I asked if there was any children’s options for our son. She then told me in a patronising voice that I should’ve read the specials board and told me what the children’s options were. As we’d never been there before, how was I supposed to know there was a specials board? It’s such a shame the service was so bad as when the food came it was very really good and we were pleasantly surprised by the prices too. Unfortunately, the waitresses are spoiling things for a very good chef!

The food was amazing! Beautifully plated and tasted fantastic. The whole experience makes us want to go back again and again!

Had a carne pizza what can I say the flavours were fantastic the crust was crisp wouldn't normally eat the crust but I did. The whole family enjoyed it also tried my wife's pasta from the specials board chicken and mushroom in pesto delicious. Will return 10/10

We had a great time, service was good and food was excellent thank you. We hope to come again next time we are in the area.
