We found the restaurant to be quite expensive, and the food was a little bland compared to our local takeaway. However, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We bought them box to share. Which was 16£ Everything was lovely but tbem salt and pepper chicken were rock as hard. They cook it to much and i dont think it should be like that. We go some in malton and they were so nice. So its kinda ruined our food as we were excited to have it.

Cracking food! The atmosphere is a bit dated but the food is amazing. Our second visit to this restaurant. The duck with pancakes, the salt and pepper ribs and the sizzling dishes were all delicious. Washed down with a range of chilled beers. We will certainly be back.

Had a take away tonight. "Spicy Kung Po". Absolutely tasteless. Used to love this place when we were in the area. Has it changed hands?

Got a takeaway delivered told 30mins came in 15 and the food was absolutely delicious well done will definitelybe back

The food and service was amazing,I would definitely come back here and bring more of my family with me. I had the chicken and green peppers with black bean sauce. I recommend people to bring their friends and coke here. 😁😁😁👍

Visited mid Aug 24, was fairly busy (always good sign) did quiten down as got later into the evening. All 4 of us thought all the food was amazing, highly recommend the salt and chilli ribs. Great food and drink!

Recommended by the locals. Eat in or takeaway. Food was really nice, price was reasonable. Nice atmosphere. Can find free street parking nearby. We had takeaway so not sure if it's dog friendly.

We visited thornton Dale for a week and fancied a Chinese takeaway on a Tuesday night, so we looked around and found fortune Inn delivered, so I rang up, and the staff seemed friendly on the phone. The delivery took over an hour but the delivery driver got lost and he was very apologetic. The food was ok. it's definitely not the best chinese I have eaten

The only small negative, some in our party of 4 thought the portion sizea could have been a bit bigger.

The food was not to my liking at all

Lovely restaurant set close to the Pickering railway station. Really friendly with quick service. We had a chicken chow mein , sweet and sour chicken with chips and a chicken in black bean sauce with a bottle of rosé wine and a tonic water for £53. Cleared our plates as all were great. Popular with locals too which is always a good sign

Would like to thank all the staff. Had set meal for two changed a couple of things and came out full and satisfied. Very good value for money. All staff are very friendly and helpful. There's nothing too much trouble.

We've literally just left and wanted to share how lovely our meal and service was. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. Portion sizes, not a single complaint! Service was attentive and not intrusive. It was clean, smelt fresh, bathrooms very tidy.

Ordered two take aways on different nights same week.. one order was wrong unfortunately. But the food tasted good . Chicken was nice in the chow main. Pricey though

First and last visit here ordered half crispy aromatic duck which looked like it had been through a mincer not crispy not aromatic totally tasteless without hoisin sauce ..not a good experience in more ways than one ..the choice is yours ..seems the owner does not like criticism of the food and threatens to call the police told her not to offend me by saying thankyou

Beautiful food and piping hot for take out

Old school Chinese restaurant with extensive menu. Food was tasty, hot and great value for money. Staff were efficient and friendly. We went in a bit early so a bit lacking in atmosphere but it had started to fill up when we left and was starting to buzz. I'd happily return.

Very friendly staff couldnt fault them at all. sadly let down by the food. Chicken chow mein was bland, rubbery chicken weren't fried at all not a drop of soy sauce in sight. Egg fried rice was just boiled rice colored yellow, once again not a drop of soy sauce in sight. Salt and peppers box was just overload of salt. More salt in that box than actually in the north sea. It wasn't terrible..but I wouldn't come here again for food which is a shame given the fair pricing and friendliness of staff.

Their fried rice is merely boiled rice with yellow colouring!!!! Pork is chewy!! If you can’t be arsed just sell the place ?

Beat takeaway special curry and special rice I have ever had the pleasure of eating.....

We ate here on Good Friday, it was busy with a good atmosphere, the service was quick and the staff were all polite friendly staff. The menu is huge, the food was well presented, and delicious. There is a take out service too. If in the area I would definitely visit again. We can highly recommend eating here.

Called for an evening meal with my wife. Staff were very attentive, and happy to oblige. Very clean and tidy restaurant for possibly over 50 customers, but not crowded midweek. Food was out of this world, and will definitely go back when in the area.

Great food would definately go again, it was a spur of the moment decision to go. I had the chilli shredded beef and chips it was stunning and the portions were good.

In the middle of somewhere with very little choice of places to eat it is a welcome sight. Everything is as you would expect but nothing is stand out. Staff are friendly and there is a large menu. Parking is free on street if you're fortunate or there's a pay and display very close by

We had a lovely meal here. It was very quiet in the restaurant but busy for takeout. Service was great, very pleasant staff. Food was served hot and was very tasty with good portion sizes.

Bit of a mixed bag this place The food is always good service average. Not badly priced However, there has been a few occasions where food has not turned up and I've had to Chase them. It's happened more than 3 times It's probably to be one of the best in the area though.

We booked a table to finish our day out in Pickering. On arrival, we were taken to our seat and asked which drinks we would like. We asked for Tiger bottles, they brought us it in glasses, it was flat. We ordered our food, on arrival of the starter, it was full of salt, that is all we could taste, not only on 1 starter but 2. On arrival of our main, Fillet Steak sizzling dish, the meat was un chewable and fatty, fillet steak should have no fat in it. It tasted dreadful. The sirloin steak we ordered was the same again, not what we ordered. The chicken was Grey! 🤢 We asked to speak to management regarding the poor quality food - the lady was really unprofessional! Shouting abuse, talking in her own language to another member of staff and even threatening to call the police. We agreed to paying half of what we did not eat as the woman was aggressive towards us. The food was appalling, the carpets were dirty and the toilet brushes were rusty & very dirty. We will not be back.

This food is disgraceful not even to mention the toilets we will not be returning, the steaks were horrendous tough not tender the chicken & prawns were grey if there was a no stars option for this restaurant that’s what I would put.

This food is not edible! Fillet steak was fatty and unchewable, the sirloin was like a flat iron gone wrong, the prawns were anemic, The chicken was overly froze. The women when approached about all of the above was aggressive. We will never return. If I could leave no stars I would.

We had booked a short notice break in Pickering - everywhere was busy but we were accepted here with no booking . Staff were so friendly and the food was enjoyable, generous portions and reasonably priced .

Ok - unfortunately this was the only place we could get a table in Pickering on a Monday night during half term week. Food was average at best. Service was good. Staff were friendly.

This is the best Chinese meal I have ever had! Fresh, beautifully cooked, tasty meal. Every member of staff was outstanding and provided fantastic service. Nothing was greasy. It was really well presented and worth going to. There is parking just around the corner. Wheelchair access is possible, although there is one small step to get into the restaurant. However, there may be additional access somewhere that has no steps. The menu is very good and the quality of food is outstanding! Table service is fantastic, and all members of staff are amazing. It was a wonderful experience in every way. Thank you 😊.

Decided to eat in as it was relatively quiet. Have to say that the service by the staff was excellent, on the ball, attentive, checking if we needed anything. The place itself needs an refresh, everything is looking a little worn and dated. Carpet thread bare and just needs updating. The food was such a mixed bag. We had a mixed starter for two, the ribs were clearly the ends of the ribs with very little meat, the prawn toast was ok, and the rest forgettable. The mains, curry beef, and sweet and sour chicken, the latter was very nice, the curry was like going to an Indian and having one of the hot ones you have on a night out with the lads. Rice was egg fried rice, just no egg, very really. Mixed bag for me, wouldn't be going back based on that visit.

Mature couple in Pickering on holiday. Fancied a Chinese style meal. Staff were lovely and the place was clean . We sat in . I ordered the Fortune Spacial Chow Mein with crispy noodles.. see the picture. Crispy noodles are supposed to be done in the wok. These weren't. It was IMHO noodles straight out of a packet. They weren't even warm . The mixed meat on the top with sauce was OK. Could have done with more sauce to soak into the noodles.. I didn't feel it had been made to order as it came real quick. Had too much MSG in it for me. I wouldnt recommend that dish. Avoid. My OH had beef in blackbean sauce with rice that was decent. See picture. I'd prob guess if your local you know the best to order. They seemed to be doing a decent trade in take aways. Maybe I just landed on the wrong night. The service was good which raised it for me to a 3 star from 2 ...

The food was absolutely amazing. Best Chinese food we have had in a long time. Restaurant was clean and friendly staff. Couldn't fault it.

We return every year on holiday and every single time the quality is excellent and the carry outs come thi k and fast. We both had meat & prawn spring rolls (3 each), followed by tiger prawn and chicken for my.other half, quarter crispy aromatic duck with the trimmings for me and a shared egg fried rice. Add a beer for him and a bottled water for me, the whole lot was a smidgen under £50 - and was absolutely delicious. We'll be back.

This is a good example of don't judge a book by its cover. Very old school decoration but staff were friendlest we came across in Pickering and the food was excellent. The Honey chilli chicken was our favourite. We would be there on a regular basis if we lived closer. We will have it top of the places to eat at when we visit the area again.

Meals are fab we got chicken chow mein chicken satay hong kong style sweet and sour chicken fried rice and veg noodle soup and it was excelent a party of flavours its a great find and they deliver too small charge which is worth it for the fab food or you can sit in its a little gem

Takeaway, ordered pork and duck chow me in. Duck very fatty which seems to be common theme in reviews and pork very dry, unfortunately will not be using again

We’re holidaying in a cottage just up the road so thought we’d pop in for a meal. Service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We ordered a selection of dishes to share between us (5 of us in total). Food was delicious, hot and fresh, full of flavour. Would recommend the duck in plum sauce, chicken chow mein and the sweet & sour chicken balls.

We were a party of 9 who just called in on route to our accommodation . We made very welcome, we ordered 9 different meals and served with 9 excellent meals very quickly, which everyone enjoyed. Would certainly recommend. 😋

Order on phone was told 45 min got there was busy asked the lady how long my food would be she said she could not tell me finally got food after 2 hours and I would not of fed to my dogs will be asking for a refund

This is the WORST Chinese I have had. I ordered 1/4 duck with boiled rice and curry sauce. When I unwrapped the duck at home it was all ready shredded with the bone left on top. It looked like dog food. When eating it it was full of fat and some was warm and other parts cold, this was almost £20 and it went straight in the bin. I will never eat here or recommend this to anyone again.

Decent food just slightly overpriced recommended the chow mein

Argueably the worst chinese meal I have had. Egg fried rice was just yellow coloured rice, no egg, no peas or seasoning. King prawns with cashew nuts ... there were 4 prawns, watery and tasteless.

We ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, egg fried rice and chicken fried rice. The fried rice was a scented pilau rice, the chicken balls were plastic - the only thing that was genuine was the batter and my chicken fried rice wasn't edible either with synthetic chicken. *SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE * Total waste of money!!!
