The best restaurants in East Riding of Yorkshire Yorkshire and The Humber

We had a large party of 14 and was pleasantly surprised that the staff member on duty was more than happy to come to the table and take our order, rather than having to order at the bar, which is more the norm for this establishment. A great time was had by all and the food was of a high standard. A minor (mistake?) where some onion rings were placed on a meal instead of as side orders was very quickly and efficiently handled, leaving no room for any complaints. I would definitely use The Nags Head at Routh again as a great evening was had by all present.

All 7 of us had a cracking tea. A feast fit for the family was a megga hit. Excellent value. Great staff. We will be back again

Don't go here often but it's lovely for a family lunch and the food is amazing.

Nice welcome friendly staff. Limited gluten free options staff were unsure if items could be adapted to be gluten free. They said there was a risk of cross contamination so not suitable for ceolliac. Food that we had was well cooked and tasty.

Well worth a visit. Portion sizes are spot on. Prices not extortionate either.

This is a standard Premier Inn with the normal levels of comfort in the rooms. Next to a service station, so convince of fast food and shops near by. Not a glamorous location though.

On arrival the self service screens weren't working a good start not. Got checked in by a lovely member of the staff key card given and went up to our room. My wife had a shower and when she finished she couldn't turn off the shower, it was on hot and the tap had came off. So I found a member of staff and she went to get some tools and within 10 minutes it was fixed. She went above her duty. Didn't sleep well as we were stuck above an Aircon unit or extractor fan which kept us both awake. The bathroom and decor of the room for a fairly new premier Inn was poor. I travel and use premier Inn all over and for been in a nice area was a poor inn. Will I stay again I'm not sure.

The hotel staff went above and beyond and in the restaurant! Changed rooms for us as we unexpectedly had to look after our grandson and they moved our bags for us. Friendly clean. Couldn't fault it!!

Lovely setting (but no car park) but service was very slow on a Wednesday night and the food was very ordinary; starters were fine but nothing special and the main courses were poor with overcooked fish, vey undercooked veg and a tasteless risotto. Will not return.

Very beautiful restaurant, very friendly and helpful service. Fresh and hot food. Very large portions. Very nice experience. Homely, family atmosphere. I recommend this place for families and children. I am very happy.

Visited the newly revamped Medmex that has now been renamed Cloud 9 for a birthday celebration on a Thursday evening. We had a young member of our family with us and an elderly lady. Should have changed the name to Cloud Vape or Cloud Chav. A group of young adults sat drinking and vaping without caring about other customers. Felt like I was in a roudy pub in a city centre. The noise from one young woman was horrendous. Shouting and swearing at top of her voice totally spoilt our meal. We asked the young barman to intervene and he explained the proprietor wasn't in to sort it! My advice to that young barman...grow a pair! He did eventually ask them to quieten down. Young teens kept coming in off the street just to use the toilet. One of our party was sure he saw small packets exchanged in the mens loos. Not something we want our youngsters to experience. Mediocre food okay and served quickly, however, we won't be returning anytime soon unless the clientelle improves, even our teens were discusted by what they witnessed.

The pub itself is in a nice location. The food was very nice and cannot fault. The service however was dismal. We ate at 6.30pm and the restaurant was not busy, we had to wait for drinks, the staff were not knowledgeable about what drinks were available. We were not asked if everything was okay with the meal, or asked if we wanted another drink......so we didn't have one!. There was 3 serving staff who were stood around talking, they should spend a little more attention on the customers eating. The food really was nice!
