Hotham Arms Pub in East Riding of Yorkshire

We had been to the Hotham Arms a couple of months ago and found it to be an extremely quirky comfortable place to have a pint and a meal. At that time the food was absolutely spot on and would take some beating. Well I was wrong, we returned yesterday 12/11/4 and was met by a waitress who took us to a table of our choice. Swiftly we received our drinks order and our food order was taken, My wife ordered the sirloin steak and I went for the steak,onion and black sheep pie. When our meals arrived I was in awe, a huge portion of proper hand cut chips,veg of the season, of which the parsnips were the most tastiest I have ever had. My wife's meal as similar the steak was cooked to perfection and she also enjoyed the hand cut chips. She had also ordered a side dish of battered onion rings and thought she would receive two or three, instead there was a large bowl of them. She said the batter on the onion rings was the best she had tasted and invited me to assist in eating them all, yes they were very moreish. We was going to forego a "pudding" until we saw what the two ladies behind us ordered passed by, again we were both impressed with our "afters". On speaking to the waitress, she informed us that two new Chefs had started work there this week and she had also been impressed at the plates they were producing. Well worth a visit, I was highly impressed with the food, service, cosy atmosphere and quirky decor.

Booked a table with friends and arrived to be told they were very busy. Came for our order 40 mins later and then nothing. The adjacent room was rammed and they were being served food. Another table who arrived after us also got food! When we asked how long it would be they didn’t return with any update. By this time we were so disappointed we decided to call it a day after an hour and quarter waiting. There was no apology or indeed any response. Just to add we were longstanding customers having been very regular diners for over 25 years. They had obviously overbooked and the kitchen was unable to cope.

Booked a table for my daughter’s birthday (20) Everything was ok till the mains course which arrived late and a side dish was missing …… Side dish arrived at the end of our meal Asked for repeat drinks before the mains arrived……. had to wait over 10 minutes for them…. did ask and was informed they were very busy with a function Which left us feeling not that special even on a special night for my daughter Shame really as we have been so many times before 🙁😤🙁😤🙁 Lost that lovely personnel service they had before 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

We have visited this venue many times over the years. They now have a new manager in place and none of the long term staff were working . We were told they were all on holiday ( unbelievable ) They food was good but the service very poor indeed .when we mentioned this to a member of staff she said they had a large party of 30 in the back. Surely if they had a booking of this size they would have had more staff on. We were not the only people to complain . It is a shame as if they do not improve service they shall loose a lot of regulars We shall not hurry back

Been a long time coming this visit to the Hotham Arms, and it certainly didn't disappoint! Stunning venue, very warm and welcoming. Staff all very friendly and professional. Upon entering we were swiftly served drinks at the bar and we were seated despite being a little early. The young lady serving us was a credit to the owners - prompt, attentive, courteous and knowledgeable about the menus. We both opted for the pie which was delicious, followed by apple crumble and minted chocolate cake. Absolutely no faults whatsoever, venue, staff and food all superb - prices very good also. A new place for our regular outings. Thankyou all and look forward to returning soon.

I came here mid week with a work colleague, after a long day. I had the warm salmon niçoise with a side of chips, and my colleague had the parmigiana. Absolutely delicious. Inspute of good-sized portions, our respective greed tempted us to an apple & rhubarb crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Understated excellence. Attentive staff who are not overbearing. Lovely atmosphere.

Regarding our recent booking given that the restaurant has a very good reputation we were very disappointed in various aspects of our visit, especially given that it was a special occasion I just hope you will take this as constructive criticism and not an out and out complaint high lighting a couple of points which seem to stand out when we were seated at our table there was no mention of the wine/drink menu although we had drinks from the bar so it wasn’t a big thing and we were happy with them it would have been nice to be shown it ( also increased your drink sales). For our first course we asked if we could have bruschetta to share between 2, I must admit the topping was good but the down side was it only had 1 small piece of bread, for 2? When we asked the waitress if we could have some more bread she brought out one equally small piece (she must have been talking to my dietitian). For the main course my partner ordered the Duck which was excellent unfortunately I ordered the Sea bass which was a complete disaster looking at the description on the menu I would have expected the prawn and mussel chowder to be in a fish or white wine type of sauce instead it was a couple of mussels and a couple of prawns in what can only be described as tomato puree so strong that it totally killed any flavour and taste in the rest of the meal. Very disappointing. The rest of the meal (sweets were good) looking back it should have been an excellent evening given your reputation but was marred by small problems that can easily be put right. Having worked in the hospitality sector I can understand how things happen and as I said before please look on this as constructive. One final thing, could you please sort it so the tips can be added when you take card payments. As a footnote i sent this review to the restaurant over a week ago and haven't had even an acknowledgement.

It’s always a lovely rustic place to have dinner Full of charm built up by former owner Joe . The menu has all the uk favourites on it and honest prices For me the staff there all no what they are doing and are very friendly and look happy to be there My wife’s fillet was cooked perfectly

Have been visiting the restaurant for years living close by. Tonight as always we were extremely happy with our evening. Food excellent ( with a few tweaks of finesse to the menu). ‘Joe’s fish cake’ on the menu since I remember and always delicious has been tweaked to a Thai style and was lifted to another level! Excellent choice on menu. Service exemplary - friendly, polite, and attentive. Atmosphere cosy and comfortable. Thank you. We will keep on coming back.

This pub is a great pub with good food we went last night monday for my sister's birthday and sent the hotham arms a happy birthday tablecloth and sprinkles for the table which they did for me. The also put a birthday candle in my sister's dessert. We all had a lovely time. Anne walker

A gem of a place always been well fed and watered here! Our last visit was Easter Sunday 2024. Our family of 4 all had the 3 course Sunday lunch deal think about £25 for the full 3 courses so very good value as well as very tasty. Beef sirloin was on point a tad red just as I like it. Pork was also very tasty and the wife very much enjoyed. Vegetables plenty full and very green so must be good for you! Loved the carrots at 6 inch long made a good change from the usual small batons served elsewhere. Gravy thick and tasty along with a banging Yorkshire. Pudding as usual delicious followed by relaxing coffees. No rushing us off wanting the table and smiling friendly staff. We’ll always keep coming back👍

Visited Saturday 29 March 2024 .Absolutely superb food service and atmosphere.Everything was perfect . Thank you so much for what was a lovely evening.

We were quickly seated as the restaurant wasn't too busy. We both opted for the steak, onion and ‘Black Sheep’ pie – served with either mash potato or chips and fresh vegetables. Cost was £15 per meal. One of us chose chips, the other mashed potato.. Portion sizes weren't huge but were adequate. There was no onion in the pies but we each received a single baby onion on top of our pies (what's that all about?). The individual pies were nice enough but the chips were soft and undercooked (indistinguishable from the parsnips!) and the vegetables were rock solid, as opposed to the expected al dente. The gravy was weak and rather tasteless and the mash watery. We were disappointed with this food. With just a bit more care and attention to cooking times and an improved gravy, these could have been really nice meals. Please nudge your chef!

We had Sunday lunch here. Every part of the meal was fabulous, the service attentive and the staff were friendly. The pub is so cosy and warm and the atmosphere is great. I would highly recommend here.

Had a great meal and lovely evening, We both chose a dish from the special menu and both were really good. My lamb shank pie was a revelation - get down there before it goes off the menu. H had Tandoori salmon, also very good. Always a lovely atmosphere here and staff are first class

We haven’t eaten here for a while but had enjoyed when we’d eaten there previously. We arrived on time, were shown to our table and given the menu and table water brought. The wine menu choices were a little disappointing for whites by the glass, a choice of just 3. We ate a steak & ale pie and a duck breast, which were both very tasty. We finished with a shared cheeseboard and a liquor coffee. The dining room was very busy and some table were quite close together, however, there was a very nice atmosphere. The service was excellent, menu choices decent and we both thought it was good value for money.

We went for Sunday lunch but 3out of the 4meals were cold, which staff did apologize for and changed, however the extra vegetables bought out were hard. We did mention this and again staff very nice about. Just disappointed that we got no reduction in the bill or even free coffees, which would have been nice

What a lovely cosy pub. Food was fabulous, hot and fresh. Staff really attentive to the fact I can't have gluten, plenty options available, went over and above to accomodate me. Very reasonably priced for what is on offer. Have already rebooked

We went today with our neighbours to have a Sunday lunch. Lovely meal, we all had the roast beef which was lovely. The beef was nice and pink, my husband prefers it a little less pink but I thought it was nice. The veg was well cooked with a little bit of crunch. The Yorkshire puddings looked lovely which I gave to my husband as I don't eat them. My husband has sticky toffee pudding which he said was fantastic and our friend had apple crumble and had no complaints. The atmosphere was lovely with a log burner blazing. Will be returning soon. Only grumble was the knife was blunt so had to ask for a steak knife.

Went to the Hotham with my girlfriend and her family visiting the area and I cannot praise the food and service enough! We had such a lovely time and everything was reasonably priced! Highly recommend the bourguignon and the salted caramel sticky toffee pudding! We'll definitely be back when we're next visiting!

We have loved this pub for many years its great food and wonderful atmosphere unfortunatly you have changed the menu and sadly not for the better. We went last night with friends very disapointed my mushroom starter was dreadfull the salmon which previously was delicous was poor didnt like the combination at all the dish of vegatables fresh from the freezer and microwaved really !! The fish and chips not the best looked like they had been bought at the chippy. The deserts were better and the service good hense the 3 stars.

This is a great pub. The pub itself is lovely - traditional and cosy with attention to detail in the décor, it just looks great. The food was really nice - we went for Sunday lunch and were both very happy with our meals. The starter and puddings were good-size portions, I felt the main was lacking in vegetables, but overall it was tasty and we left feeling full. It's very dog friendly with a few dogs in when we visited. Service was very good and friendly. The outside area will be great in Summer, although some of it is undercover for the wetter/colder weather. I just really liked this pub and will definitely be going back.

Booked on Monday evening for a meal with friends, unfortunately have to say the fish cakes were mainly mashed potato & hardly any fish at all, we mentioned this to the waitress & she told us that they were renounced for not putting much fish in them, found this a rather strange thing to say! The other complaint we have for is the tagine it clearly said it was with red pepper & chickpeas, replaced with inedible aubergine, very disappointing, won’t be returning This is clearly unacceptable!

Went along with friends to this pub, prebooked as we were told it is busy, especially at weekends. We ordered various Sumday lunches, beef, pork and gammon, and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. When our lunches arrived, I knew immediately that the meats were boil I the bag. Why does a pub that is so busy not make their meats from fresh, as the place was extremely busy inside and out. It seems such a waste that a pub being so busy, resorts to serving their customers 'paupers' dinners. That is what students rely on to make ends meet, from theory of the cars in the car park the customers were anything but. Can't say we will be visiting anytime soon in a hurry.

First time for us here and we were not disappointed. We came with friends who have been before for lunch, but not for dinner. After being seated when we were all there (we had enjoyed a drink in the bar first), we ordered more drinks and reviewed the menu. I chose the seafood gratin for starter, my husband had the smoked haddock fishcake, then he enjoyed steak and had the duck. Wow....fantastic food, we even squeezed in a dessert - apple and date crumble and custard for me, chocolate cheesecake for husband. Lovely pub, with plenty of seating in the restaurant, with plenty of seating outside too - most of which is undercover. Staff were great and very friendly. Will be back to try the Sunday roast and lunch menus!

We attended here for a midweek meal. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, the food was outstanding. We will definitely be returning.

The staff are friendly and attentive with great home cooked food. Dogs are allowed in the bar area so this is a bonus for us. The outsiders are is great and set out for all weathers making it a lovely place to visit what ever the weather is doing.

The food and service were both good. We booked a table for a family meal and catch up and we all had a lovely evening. Unfortunately we had a long wait to order, and another long wait for our food. Near by tables who ordered after us received their food before us. It was a busy evening even though it was a Monday. Thankfully we were busy catching up so the wait was not a big issue. Perhaps too many reservations were taken for the same / similar time putting unnecessary time on the staff?

Had a lovely evening here for my husband’s birthday with the family . The food was so good ! It’s so nice to walk in a place and feel comfortable straight away. The staff were welcoming, attentive and very pleasant .

Was really looking forward to Sunday lunch here, and all the whole found it just about average. Starters, scallops and fish platter. Fish platter was the better of the 2 - no cooking required just selection of smoked fish and fruit. Scallops small and perhaps...

We ate in here as 2 couples.The restaurant was quiet but felt cosy and warm with a roaring log open fire.Staff were friendly and attentive.No starters but 4 different mains .3 were excellent but the sirloin steak ( a big slice of meat ) was tough and chewy and a lot was left on the plate.All portions were of a good size and piping hot .2 of us had sweets which were a real treat, sticky toffee pudding and homemade bramble crumble a delight.All in all a very good meal but unfortunately have to take a star off for the steak.

This place is absolutely fantastic .I've only eaten outside but all the times we've been have been great, never been to a better outdoor eating area

We had heard so much about this place and wanted to try the food, Given we live afair distance away we thought we would try a lunch time rather than an evening especially as the evenings are drawing in. The pub dining area is wonderful, great tables, great decor very pleasant. The staff again very polite and pleasant.We were however very dissapointed with the lunch time menu. If you are a meat eater (not too keen on fish unless i can be assured its fresh not frozen) the only chouice was steak , quite expensive for a lunch time and not very different or sausages and mash. Nothing else. I had the sausages and although fine were just Ok, they did not seem like big fat butchers sausages but run of the mill variety. The fish was a fish platter, fish giujons or salmon. There were a few vegetable/cheese dishes however we struggled to find a balanced meal in a pub where so many positives had been said. Maybe its just not a special lunchtime place.Unless the lunch time menu reflects more choice,maybe a pie, pork belly or even the famous fish cakes we will not be returning. Sorry

My partner and I booked last minute for a Sunday lunch and my goodness are we happy we did.The homemade soup was delicious followed by a beautiful cut of beef sirloin, the best we have ever tasted. The accompanying veg was fresh and well seasoned, homemade Yorkshire puddings and beautiful potatoes. Deserts were again stunning, homemade, and well presented. Staff are inviting, professional and friendly. The pub itself is very cosy and quirky, full of beautiful memorabilia, very pleasing to the eye. For the price you pay I don’t think you’ll find much better. We’ve definitely found ourselves a new favourite.Thank you Hotham Arms for a lovely Sunday afternoon! We will be back soon.

A small family gathering. Delightful place, lovely atmosphere, great staff. We had a mix of starters, mains, desserts, wines and fizz and could not fault one single item or one moment of service. It was perfection.

Lovely evening in this dog friendly country pub. Food was very good, staff were friendly, large selection of drinks and a quirky interior. A large undercover outside area looked very pretty.

Maybe it was a staff problem, who knows? Sadly we finally received our mains at 9.30pm and were in the restaurant at 6.30pm.Friends food was nice, mine was average and the people who ordered steak were disappointed. Really sad! I am going to give it another go, as the staff are really nice just a shame that I could not rave about the place! Everyone has bad days, so let's hope that is all it was.

We ate here with friends for a celebratory meal. The pub was extremely busy, the service and food were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely eat here again and would highly recommend

It’s been a while since our last visit and sadly a big part of the experience is now sadly missed and all our thoughts go to the family.With all the emotions of been back at the Hotham arms all I can say is everything was fantastic. The place looked amazing and the food is spot on but service wise I can’t think of better staff and service. We had a table of 6 and everyone left saying it’s the best experience in a long time. All I can say is go enjoy The Hotham Arms.

Have visited Hotham Arms many times pre Covid and always had a good meal until tonight. Ordered our starters and main meal (some of choice not available due to a ‘busy weekend’ - tonight is Tuesday!). I ordered lamb shank, 5 minutes later was told no lamb shank either. Starters arrived which were ok. After starters were cleared away our main course did not arrive for 50 minutes and then we had to ask where they were, answer was ‘ just being plated up’. The meal still took another 10 minutes to arrive at the table and when it did arrive, the presentation was not good. We had chosen steak and the plates were quite small so the food was piled on top of each other. I didn’t even know we had mushrooms until I lifted the pile of chips. There was no garnish so the whole plate looked very bland and uninviting. When cutting into the steak we both had big chunks of fat which we could not cut through never mind chew! When we mentioned this to the waitress when she collected our plates she apologised and said she would tell the chef but we didn’t see her again until we paid the full price bill when she apologised again for the steak! It’s a shame as we have had some lovely meals at Hotham in the past but, unfortunately, we’ll not be visiting again in a hurry. Disappointed

A gorgeous pub, really quaint and traditional. Wood burning fires throughout the pub and also in the cute little outdoor area. Food was very good. I had braised ox cheek and my partner had steak pie. My ox cheek literally melted in the mouth. For dessert we had lemon posset and Malteser Sunday. I’m always sceptical with desserts but I was glad we chose to order, would order again! Waitress was lovely and chatty, telling us the history of the place. We will be going back. Thanks for a lovely experience :)

Had high hopes for our visit after recommendation from family who use the pub frequently. Ordered the fish cake for lunch and there wasn’t any fish in it. Sometimes you find in places that there isn’t much fish but on this occasion there was actually none. It was a potato cake advertised as a fish cake and so disappointing. I sent half of it back after trying to find fish and just received a “will let the manager know” - not even a real apology or a deduction on the bill. Surprised they had the nerve to charge full price for it. Really poor service. Won’t rush backReal shame as the pub itself is lovely and other dishes that came out looked much better.

Saturday Evening Meal in the restaurant, very busy, excellent food and excellent service, our first trip to the Hotham Arms and it wont be our last.Starters we had Seared Scallops and Chicken Liver Parfait, Herb Crusted Salmon, Braised Ox Cheek, and my partner had Chocolate Fondant, all superbly cooked and presented. All young staff waiting on were very professional.Definitely worth a visit.

Having enquired amongst friends and acquaintances as to a good place to eat and receiving good reports of the Hotham Arms I booked dinner for 4 last night. We were greeted promptly and shown to a window table. Fresh water delivered to the table was welcome and drinks orders promptly served. One of us ordered a starter which also came fairly quickly and was enjoyed. Then we had an extremely long wait for our main dishes of haddock and chips and a steak pie. These were disappointing. I found the batter on the haddock very soggy and the chips limp and uninteresting although the fish was good. The steak pie was deemed good except the pastry was hard. Furthermore after being seated a long time on upright hard bench I was feeling increasingly uncomfortable - my position was not good for eating in a relaxed way particularly as it was a very warm evening and there was little ventilation in the room. I had no desire for a desert and was keen to leave at that point. Overall a disappointing evening.

Someone we know recommended The Hotham Arms so we were able to get a table for dinner tonight and so pleased we took up the recommendation.Very good menu; we didn’t have starters but one Braised Ox cheek and duck breast, both perfectly cooked with a cheeseboard which was plenty for 2 as stated on their menu. Liquor coffees to finish with 2 large glasses of wine and 2 pints of black sheep during our meal. If I was being really picky I’d say there’s only 2 whites, reds and rose’s by the glass, but the wine by the bottle is well priced. Excellent service, really nice menu, excellent value for money, lovely atmosphere, we were really impressed. It was our first visit tonight (we live about 15 minutes drive away) and we will definitely return and would recommend.

Called on the off chance on the way home. Only intended to have a quick drink, then we saw the early bird menu, £15 for two courses and as all the food coming out looked tempting we decided to order. Three hours later we’re both still full! Very friendly and efficient service and a great outdoor area.

We booked for Sunday 4th July as a treat for mother & granddaughter, we had never been before & what a delightful surprise, far outlived our expectations, lovely atmosphere, lovely surroundings, food & service wonderful, would certainly reccommend.

Brilliant quality of food cooked perfectly. Sirloin steak melted in the mouth and onion rings to die for. My partner loved her duck dish, however it could have come with a bit more veg. Apart from that, it was a faultless experience. Desserts exceptional! Can't wait to come back

I visited The Hotham Arms for dinner with family and friends and found the whole experience very pleasant. Myself and my friend ordered the chateaubriand and I have to say it was cooked to absolute perfection. One of the best I’ve ever had. The staff were very efficient and accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

The food was amazing - we had fish and chips and it was possibly the best battered fish I've ever had. The outside undercover dining area is lovely, and although the inside wasn't open it looked beautiful in there too.

Our first al fresco experience with the Hotham Arms! We dined with a friend 22 April on a gorgeous sunny day that lent a festive atmosphere to our late lunch which included braised lamb shank, sirloin steak and fish and chips....all first class in terms of quality of ingredients and beautifully presented. There was a delectable fish pie on offer as ‘special of the day’, just another incentive for our next visit. You will always receive a warm welcome from Georgina and though the swallows are not guaranteed, they do add a nice touch.

We found the Hotham Arms Pub by accident, and have been regular visitors since.Catch 22 on a Thursday is a must. The fish & chips are fabulous. . . well actually all the food is fabulous. After a recent menu update, my favourite beetroot tart starter is sadly no longer on the menu but the fish platter is a delightful alternative. This week I tried the halloumi sticks. Very nice indeed!Steak night is good value and Sunday lunch is tasty too.The desserts are amazing. My partner always opts for tiramisu & ice cream but I like them all. Anna makes a lovely liqueur coffee too.All the staff are very welcoming and ensure that they look after you. Always a pleasure to return.

Vine aquí con un par de amigos, ya que estábamos luchando por encontrar restaurantes decentes abiertos los lunes. Un miembro del personal de Fergason y Fawcit nos recomendó este restaurante. Estamos tan por favor que encontramos esta pequeña joya y definitivamente volveremos y ya hemos recomendado este lugar a amigos y familiares.

Wow! Very impressed, lovely restaurant setting, very friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. We chose steaks and were not disappointed, quality ingredients, cooked to perfection and very generous portion sizes. We will definitely visit again soon, you will not be disappointed!

Al pedir el asado del día para tres personas, venía acompañado de un pequeño plato de verduras para compartir. Pedimos uno extra. Nunca llegó y tampoco tuve patatas asadas en mi comida. Ninguna camarera vino a ver si todo estaba bien. Al recoger los platos vacíos, mencioné esto y me dijeron que podía tener un postre gratis. . . . lamentablemente se había cargado en la factura. Así que salimos decepcionados con la experiencia.

Stroganoff de ternera ordenado, ¡tenía más setas que ternera! No se preguntó una buena relación calidad-precio si queríamos verduras a un precio adicional, no una buena relación calidad-precio. Valor terrible para el dinero. la camarera de la señora mayor fue de mala educación! ! ! ! ! !

Mi marido y fuimos a cenar el sábado por la noche. Mi plato principal fue el filete que pedí medio raro. Cuando llegó y la camarera preguntó por la comida, le dije que el bistec estaba demasiado cocido. Ella me ofreció otro. Como a mi esposo no se le ofreció reemplazar la comida, él comería antes que yo o comía comida fría, yo comía lo que yo tenía. Cuando llegó la factura me quejé de nuevo. El propietario o el gerente se acercó y dijo que lo había comprobado, pero que no quiso explicar cómo. El bistec se sirvió en dos bistecs separados. El primero estaba bien hecho (nada de rosa), el segundo tenía un poco de rosa, medio en el mejor de los casos.Este no es un restaurante barato y la actitud no fue muy buena. Habríamos comido aquí varias veces ya que nos quedamos en Hotham, pero esto nos ha desanimado.

Mi esposo y yo visitamos recientemente el Hotham Arms para disfrutar del almuerzo. El pub es hermoso por dentro con un ambiente acogedor. Optamos por el menú principal más caro en lugar de la selección más barata para el almuerzo. Ambos menús tenían una buena elección y la comida que salía de la cocina se veía bien. Decidí optar por mi Steak and Ale Pie favorito, con puré de papas y guisantes. Me sorprendió que no hubiera verduras frescas como se indicó en reseñas anteriores, pero eso no me desanimó. Mi marido optó por pescado y patatas fritas. Llegaron las dos comidas y el pescado de mi marido parecía recién hecho y apetitoso, sin embargo, no se podía decir lo mismo del mío. Lo único bueno que puedo decir es que el puré de patatas estaba delicioso. El pastel, lamentablemente, fue terrible. La corteza era como el cemento y no sabía a fresco. Me costó mucho comerlo, pero era caro, así que decidí perseverar. Aunque no me disuadiría de volver a visitarlo, me gustaría ver un pastel de carne con cerveza en el menú y no algo que supiera recién salido del congelador, especialmente para 14. 50.

Habíamos llevado a nuestros padres a cenar el domingo con nuestros dos hijos de 14 y 17 años. . . . seis de nosotros en total. . reservado el día anterior. . Honestamente, no podrían ser más útiles. La comida estaba deliciosa caliente ya tiempo. . hemos estado varias veces, así que sabíamos que era bueno. . el lugar estaba vivo, un ambiente agradable, gente riendo y hablando. . . simplemente agradable. . . me encantó gracias. . . definitivamente volveremos. .

Primera visita desde que Joe falleció, el anfitrión con más. El ambiente general y el atractivo del lugar es muy acogedor e interesante con 2 o 3 áreas de ubicación al aire libre cubiertas, incluida una zona de pizza que debemos probar. El personal fue excelente y el servicio fue bueno. La comida estaba bien, pero por el precio en esta ocasión pensamos que era un poco alto, pero volveríamos.

Had a first visit to the Hotham Arms last night, thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be returning! Can highly recommend the sea bass on fruity couscous, it was delicious! Can’t wait to try the pizza night! Thank you!

We hadn’t been in a while possibly due to the passing of Joe.......he was the placeBut.....his legacy carries onThe Hotham Arms is a really charming place, tastefully done with a lovely quirky ambience, the menu is not too extensive but has a nice selection of dishes and the cooking style is not pretentious but is very nicely done and presented which has always been its forte.I can honestly say I have never had cause to complain at the Hotham Arms and this time was no exception.Also, our meal experience and evening was greatly enhanced by Beth who looked after us, what an efficient and confident, lovely young lady. Whatever your paying her she deserves more!Jill and I owned the Black Horse Restaurant in Ellerker up till 2007 and knew Joe for many years and loved the character he was.....it’s people that make places and it’s nice to see that it’s still there.......thank you for a very nice evening.

This was the verdict of our friend, visiting from Cheshire, after our dinner here last night. She had the pan-seared halibut, I the sirloin and my wife the steak pie. I finished with passion fruit cheesecake and the ladies each with lemon meringue roulade. Everything was excellent and, judging by the ‘atmosphere’, our 45/50 fellow diners were enjoying the experience too. If, like us, it has been a while since your last visit to H.A., now is the time for a return. Georgina, Anne and crew are running a tight and happy ship; Joe’s legacy is in good hands!
