How dare you remove me from Facebook!! When everything I said was accurate. Now having my arch back I've seen it's been damaged also! So seen as you've removed me I'll send you a email to what my comment said. Wich isn't even my full complaint!! Nope nope nope! Got married on the 31st! Advertise the twilight package as the bridge with lights....the lights arnt even working! You say the Ceromany goes straight into the reception reception...NO IT DOESNT. Had my guest waiting for 45 minutes to change the room thinking our reception was in the main pub! They didn't even notify my guest what was going on..The DJ didn't even turn up on time! Or took over half a hour for them to set up when they finally did arrive .I had to prompt Jenny for my buffet...then themicrophone wasn't even working! then first dance then cake cutting. Didn't even let any of my guests know what was going on...half of my guests left before the first dance... Our room was dirty, even 2 of our guests who booked accommodation said there rooms was filthy too! And last but not least...as I was walking into the ceromany in the holding bit before I walked to my groom, one of the workers opened the door to speak to staff (WHEN WE WASN'T READY) and my now husband saw me wich just ruerned everything. Never been so disappointed.

Booked this for a family meal we holiday in the area and was uncertain where to dine. After reading some of the reviews we decided to chance it and the pictures do look good. The pub itself it quite run down needs some updating. However, we were a little disappointed rather than saying the negatives I think it could do with some constructive criticism. The beef needs to be cooked less as was very dry and tough had a really off taste to it. The gravy needs to be homemade rather than Bisto still with the lumps in and the Yorkshire puddings need to rise. A lot of pubs now are opting for the easy route of microwave veg and food however to gain a reputation food needs to be home cooked fresh produce. The service was good though very attentive just the food needs to up its again with all these points it could be a cracking little pub!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, enjoyed a few good meals and drinks here, would happily return at another time

Arrived at 2.45. I think our dinner must have been ready for us at 1.00 as it certainly tasted like it had been there a while. The Yorkshire puddings came out flat as a pancake and we assumed this was hulls version of a Yorkshire pudding as all 4 plates had flat ones. The meat was dry and felt like it had sat for a long time. We forced the dinner down but there was no way of forcing the Yorkshire puddings down without breaking our teeth trying to bite into them. The cauliflower mush, I mean cheese, was tasty but no signs of any florets in there, just mush. Gravy was nice. It disguised the appalling dinner beneath it. Veg was hit n miss, some of us got broccoli, some got a few carrots and roast potatoes that could well have been on someone's plate yesterday. We couldn't get out of the place quick enough. Paid the bill and left feeling disappointed that we had just wasted £70 on the worst dinner, forcing it down our neck. We are not ones to complain and cause a scene and I know the waitress was highly embarrassed at the state of the dinner. We skipped desserts as we were worried what we would get. Ran back to our lodge and made the kids a nice meal and nice dessert ourselves. Won't be recommending to future guests.

5* for everything. The food is absolutely beautiful the staff are amazing all in all amazing. Can't find 1 complaint about the place

Called here today after visiting family got four meals each one was massive tasted great well presented and reasonably priced staff were very polite clean and friendly only fault I could find asked if the mushy peas were home made told yes but tasted like tinned to me would recommend and return when back in the area thank you

STAY WELL CLEAR!!! after coming away for a few days to willow pastures country park which is absolutely lovely. We decided to have some lunch at the gardners country inn. We sat down to order our food we was told there could be a wait because all there food is cooked fresh 🤣🤣 (not a chance on this earth was our food in any way fresh).there were only us in the place. after waiting about 45 minutes for a steak sandwich and a tuna crunch melt . The food I received was absolute rubbish I ordered a hot steak sandwich it was stone cold and inedible it was literally like trying to chew through rubber. I wouldn't have served it to a dog.. the waitress came over to see if everything was okay and I explained what was wrong, she did say about getting it changed but because of our long wait in the first place we just wanted to get on with our day.. then when going to settle the bill I said your not charging me for the full amount for the steak sandwich are you. she went to speak to the manager which the manager went to check on all the meat I had left. She came back out out said the chef said there's nothing wrong with the meat 🤣 I said where do I start it was cold it was inedible it's like eating a rubber and is not fit for human consumption. While all this was going off the waitress just stood there giggling to her self, very rude and childish. Because I'm on holiday I didn't want the confrontation so I paid what they wanted. On the way out the manager said very sarcastically have a good day.. the whole place was filthy with flys everywhere and sticky foul tables.. Absolute dive of a place!! And to think people have to have there wedding there is really sad.. I'd just like to add that willow pastures is a beautiful well kept little place so don't let this put you off coming here. My advice would be to go to the blacksmiths Coniston where the food and service is 5 star

We were staying at Willow Pastures, literally next door, and fancied a pub meal so we had to try this place. I have to say that although the service was very friendly the woman serving us admitted it was her first day and, bless her, she had no clue. This wasn't her fault, but I think she could have been better supported by the management team. My partner asked for a Sauvignon Blanc but what came back was slightly sparkling and sweet. Definitely Blanc. Sauvignon, definitely not. We were one of three couples in the dog friendly area and arrived last. However, we got served first! We both had the Dirty Double Burger and fries which was excellent. Massive burger, fully loaded. Fries were very good as well. For dessert I had the Waffle Sundae. That was a huge dessert, two waffles, three scoops of ice cream, lots of sauce. Overall the experience was OK but could've been better. The food though, was excellent.

A great find, lovely food staff very friendly and a welcome stop when walking along the old rail line.

We were staying at the lodges next door on a small 3 day break so visited this pub every evening for drinks and a meal on the last night. We found the staff to be very friendly and professional, the very nice landlady definitely knows how to look after her beer because the Timothy Taylors landlord bitter was the best I have ever had, Theakson best and the Guinness were excellent as well. The food was cooked perfectly and was very tasty, certainly the best pub food we have had in a long time. A very good experience so we intend to return in the future.

Staff were lovely. Food was okay, both me and my husband had steak, both were very overcooked so sent back, upon sending the steak back to us, it was still over cooked. Other food ordered was okay. We sat outside, but the smell from the water was awful.

Service was so slow. Staff stood around having a coffee whilst tables waited for someone to take their orders and the bar was covered in empty glasses. The food was lovely once we eventually got it but that was marred by so many flies!!

Just left after a disastrous Sunday lunch Where do I start Pint of coke spilt over our daughter, new trainers now stained Ordered large Sunday lunch with 3 meats. To be told 10 mins later no turkey Then 20 mins later to say no pork Still went for large beef dinner Family behind came in 15 mins after us and got served before us So now an hour and still no food Other tables complaing that the large Sunday roast didn't have enough meat, and low and behold ours was the same after another 10 mins wait They then brought out a plate of 6 extra roasters and some scrag ends of beef which was dry and tough. So. Left it After Complaining to the manager along with the table behind she stated we never get complaints and it's the end of the day. She stated she would place a discount on the bill. At the bar to pay. The staff kept saying I was on another table as my table wasn't showing Even asked what I ordered and still could not find it Then charged full price So Complained again so she went to find manager who applied a £5 discount... The mash was dry and cold, roasters hard and meat wasnt good quality All in all give this place a miss.

Lovely welcome and a very pleasant environment. Well presented , hot and absolutely delicious food. Sure to return soon.

Im the local postie,and deliver daily and its always busy so thought I'll pop in for my tea. Well what can i say lovely meal ,staff was very polite and friendly ,nothing was to much trouble. Throughly enjoyed the meal compliments to the chef 👨‍🍳 have since visited again as the price was brilliant for the portion size. Rather have more than go away feeling hungry .Chips are lovely my favourite. So pop in if your passing you won't be disappointed!!

Although we had to wait for food it was well worth the wait. The food was made fresh not the usual pub grub and tastes fantastic. I would recommend without doubt as they clearly take a lot of care over the meals and it shows.

Called in as we were staying at the adjacent holiday park and asked to see the vegan menu. Basically we were offered Yorkshire pud.Mashed potatoes and sausages without the Yorkshire Pud and without the mash.When asked if all we were getting was the sausage,the waitress confirmed it was .Needless to say we went elsewhere.

Fantastic food and the portions size is excellent for the price.

Had a fabulous meal great service second time we have been this week also had 2 meals last year very welcome especially as we have 2 dogs very reasonably priced

Married here on 17.05.24 and had the most magical day thanks to The Gardeners country inn. From the moment we walked through the doors to look round whilst looking for a wedding venue we knew it would be there! The inn is warm, friendly and has a lovely welcoming feel. We were met by the landlady Jenny who is such a wonderful person and Becky the events manager who From day 1 have gone above and beyond to make our wedding day special. The wedding packages are such great value for money and have soooo much thrown in to the price. The room looked absolutely stunning and took my breath away and our guests. The food was absolutely gorgeous! The room we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, clean and the bed was so comfortable. We had the most magical, beautiful wedding here and it will always be a special place to us.

Disappointed with the lazy chef excuse for dessert that was supposed to be raspberry and white chocolate pavlova, what was served did not resemble a pavlova of any description. A giant overly dry meringue one perfectly formed dollop of ice cream on top smothered artistically with a raspberry ice cream dessert sauce, this does not constitute a pavlova, Google the recipe! The steak however was cooked to perfection. The staff were a bunch of sweet girls. When I spoke to the manager she said she'd take the dessert of the bill, no idea if this happened the bill didn't make it's way to the table we had to go to the bar to pay! There was no alternative offered for diabolical dessert! We won't be going back! £90 spent with no dessert... I'm off to TESCO!

Stayed on Willow Pastures country park and having this fantastic traditional pub on site was just the best! Had a meal Friday night, which was lovely and also stayed for the rolling stones tribute. Had a great time, the entertainment was a great addition - they were fab and so was the atmosphere! Even our 15yr old son had a good time. The staff really went above and beyond, but the land lady really made the place! She was brilliant, never been so well looked after. Returned for Sunday lunch which was great quality, beautifully cooked and big portions. Would definitely recommend The Gardeners, it was the highlight of our stay - wish we lived closer as we would definitely be regulars!

We booked in for Sunday Dinner on 31MAR and we couldn’t have been more impressed. Staying at Willow Pastures we wanted to try it out and wow, we’re so glad we did! We were warmly greeted like old friends even though it was our first visit. We had pre booked a table but asked if we could move outside as the weather was lush and they were super accommodating. The food was divine, really generous portion sizes and the beef was thick cut, not like some places where it’s near transparent! Veg was fresh, mash was creamy, roasties were perfection and the hospitality was on point, they even catered for our furbaby with a wild boar chew which kept him occupied for a good while. We came away with full bellies and warm hearts! Thank you!

Not been here for ages but called because we keep seeing the Facebook posts, there’s a new landlady and let me tell you, she has really turned this place around, the food is fresh, tasty and the portions are very generous, the restaurant has been decorated and now has a nice cosy feel, the outside beer garden was really well maintained and the whole atmosphere is just really friendly and inviting, I will definitely be visiting again, as a loca I’m used to seeing the gardeners sign but it’s not registered with me for years, but I’ll definitely be a regular again, the food was really good! I def recommend you try this place if you’ve not been in for a while, it’s nice to see somebody is actually doing something with that place. Well done to the gardeners staff.

Had high hopes for this restaurant but unfortunately will not be returning. Firstly ordered drinks which were delivered wrong. Asked for no ice and came with ice. Ok this is minor but this was when it started going wrong. Husbands meal chicken Kiev was dripping in burnt oil from the fryer and waited over 30 minutes for dessert to arrive. Lack of communication between staff as was asked numerous times if we wanted dessert but had already ordered Had to also prompt staff to clear table. Upon leaving we queried the bill as drinks seemed excessive. £2.90 for half of fresh orange and £3.50 for half a lemonade. £7.89 for a single gin Nd lemonade.To be responded by a member of staff 'well I don't make up the prices mate' this came across very rude and was not professional at all. To which we then asked to speak to a manger to be advised there was no one available whilst the member of staff was smirking at my husband. This will not be somewhere we would recommend due to poor quality of food and service.

My evening at the Gardeners Country Inn with my family was spectacular. The atmosphere within the restaurant is great, the staff are lovely, fast and constantly on top of everything you may require in your visit. The food was to die for, I ordered the chicken burger which came with a side of fries. The chicken burger was cooked to perfection and the fries were out of this world, I've never had fries that tasted this nice before. I also ordered the scotch egg starter which came with spicy chilli jam. It was a perfect opener and tasted superb. My brother ordered the seafood risotto, and he said it was the best risotto he's had in a very long time. Overall our experience at the restaurant was perfect, would 100% recommend everyone to visit and try the food, as it is reasonably priced and tasted fresh. They also have a wide selection of drinks to quench your thirst. Me and my family will definitely be revisiting.

Dined here twice this week already as staying at Willow Pastures lodges. The food is restaurant quality and plenty of it, all fresh. I had sausage and mash the first night and Veggie Lasagne the 2nd. Hubby had Steak Pie and the Sea Bass the 2nd night. All fresh veg and cooked fresh, the prices really good to say such great quality. Fabulous!!

Really disappointed booked a table for two and I expect a wait but we had to go get our own drinks and then waited 45 minutes for our meal to be brought to us. When it arrived there was one very small piece of broccoli 2 pieces of carrot a blob of mash 2 roast potatoes rock hard, dry Turkey and the Yorkshire pudding took up half the plate . It was like a child size Sunday lunch for the price it was crap will never go again service poor meal poor.

Certainly the best it has ever been, led by excellent management Jenny and her friendly staff. Food is excellent and plentiful with service being first class. I would recommend a visit to all those who want a good “olde worlde” style pub with first class food a pleasant atmosphere and superb staff.

Had an absolutely amazing night here. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We came in for drinks and food and everything was just brilliant. The drinks were a good price and the food was amazing for the price. Such a great price range for the amazing quality of food both in taste and amount you receive. Everything was catered for and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and have no worries other than your enjoyment. Would highly recommend!!!

I have been staying at the gardeners country in for just over a month now and I would highly recommend this place to anyone, the staff and owner are more than welcoming when you arrive and while dining, the food is delicious and all fresh would highly recommend to anyone

We were at the Gardeners on mother's day. We had a fabulous Sunday dinner and the service was impeccable. The pub was really busy and the staff were run off their feet, the atmosphere was buzzing with all the lovely family's enjoying their mother's day treats. The food and the staff were amazing, thank you all for making our visit so special, we will definitely be going back again.

Wasnt going to leave a review but after seeing some of the replies the manager has given i feel i have too. The fact that the manager has the cheek to say she had no complaints on christmas day is a joke. The whole day was a shambles! 2 hour waits for starters, then longer waits for mains. Staff not knowing which tables had eaten, tables not being cleaned. Cold food when it did come! It was absolute chaos, and table after table was complaining with the manager nowhere to be seen and saying to email if there were any issues! You wouldn’t of paid a penny for it. Never returning and would advise others the same

Whilst there are some good reviews recorded here I feel that it is important to record the outcome, or non outcome, as a result of the complaints concerning the appalling situation at this restaurant on Christmas Day 2023. For £70 per head we, and all the diners around us in the conservatory and,in fact, in other areas such as the bar and function room, experienced the most appalling service and food which was only really fit for the bin. Some people who had other appointments had to leave without eating either one or all courses as the wait was so long with no feasible explanation. People were distressed and angry. This is clearly reflected in the reviews of this occasion. We have contacted the manageress by emails and letter which remain unanswered and by phone only to be told that we were the only dissatisfied diners and there are no refunds. Clearly this is not so as there are many reviews describing the almost surreal and unbelievable experience suffered by the Christmas Day diners. This used to be a lovely place to visit with friends or family. Never again! When we paid up front we never imagined that it would result in such a costly and distressing disaster.

Not impressed with this place unfortunately. Normally go to Blacksmiths however decided to have a change this week. We will be returning to Blacksmiths next week. The food was mediocre at best, waited 15 - 20 minutes for more drinks when ordered at the table before chasing for them to see where they were. Advised the waiting staff that the food was luke warm, she apologised but didnt offer to change it. This result in the majority of the meal being uneaten and a waste of money.

Went for a birthday meal with the family. 14 of us in total. Food was all fresh and home cooked. All served in a timely manner and by friendly staff. Will definitely be returning

Stayed over last night in a beautiful lodge, had an absolutely stunning dinner and dessert (and the wine went down a treat too). The lasagne was absolutely delicious and a very generous portion, fresh and cooked to perfection! The biscoff cheesecake was just as tasty...

The food here was amazing and well worth the short wait. All was cooked fresh and you could tell. We went for valentines Day lunch, had 3 courses plus 2 cokes each and was £64. I can't comment on rooms as we didn't stay over. However, food and service were wonderful worth a visit.

I do not smoke and I did not loose my deposit. You can clearly see from the photo's the issues I have referred to in my review, to which I was completely honest, I still stand by what I have stated below. Food, bar, function room and staff are perfect, apart from one newby member who didn't really know much like what an ironing board is! However, the rooms are a terrible! So many problems.... We got put in one room, the cold tap didn't even work in the bath, so we got upgraded to a bigger room while the 'maintenance guy' if you can call him that tried to fix it, thought okay thanks that's good service, but, the other room we got put it was worse. - All rooms were freezing as the heating was turned off (we had around 5/6 rooms booked out and they were all the same) all radiators were turned off, if they new a big family would be staying at least make sure the heating is put back on for when we arrive! - A woman's hair was on the floor and in the bath. - Toilet was dirty and had skidders in the bowl - Toilet seat broken, when you sat on it you slid to one side. - Cistern wonky and not attached to the wall. - Bath was disgusting, all mastic was split, mouldy and coming away from the bath/tiles. - Mould on the ceiling - Extractor fan not working as it is clogged with dust - Bath handle rusty - Grouting mouldy and discoloured - Dead flies in the corner or the room - Drawer in bedroom has a broken plank of wood on the inside and was sharp sticking up - Window blind you couldn't open or close as the pullcord wasn't attached and if you moved it by hand then it would become detached from the wall, also it was installed on a sloped roof with no clips just hooks so it just bowed and if you did want to open it then it would just hang straight as there are no runners for it. - No thermostatic valve on radiator - TV we had 2 remotes but none of them worked with it so we couldn't watch any TV or had radio playing while getting ready etc. - Stains on carpets - Various lights not working as the bulbs were blown so I took some out of the wall lights in the lounge so we could at least see walking up the stairs and in the bedroom. - Overall painting was terrible and patchy. - Floor boards creaky - Lastly the milk was out of date by over a month! It seems housekeeping is definitely not at it's finest and I would definitely not recommend anyone to stay there until it gets some sort of TLC at least. Giving 2 stars but not for the rooms.

Looked on website for times food served information said food till 8pm, decided to go for evening meal Sunday night as staying at Willows Pastures arrived at 7.15pm to be told not serving food, no other explanation. We won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Booked a room last minute as I’m working local and my bosses had forgot to book me any accommodation. Room is lovely and clean and the bed is comfy. Now for the food it would only let me pick one option but I’ve been in...

We ordered the seafood platter and had to send the food back although it was crispy on the outside, it was not cooked on the inside.... It was cold!! On the positive side, there was plenty of sauce to go with it.

Visited the gardeners back in 2018 I think it was and it has only got better!!!I was staying next door while visiting family back then and found the gardeners to be amazing. With now been able to finally see the family again I thought I would have a bite at the gardeners again, and I am so glad I did. Attentive staff, covid safe, and fantastic food! I did get told about their sister pub, great food too and different menu so may have to go sample that too before going back home. We all enjoyed our visit, it was lovely to see you all again, will definitely pop back in when I'm next here.

Had a fantastic lunch It was a very very busy lunch but they managed to fit us in The staff are very helpful & attentive Food was superb fresh home cooked food These stsff are I working in a funny time, so many Covid restrictions but still very helpful& professional Some of these stsff are getting abused For abiding by the rules , and some customers being very rude to them Keep up the good work & your very good Covid standards and we look forward to coming back soon
