Went for my birthday, it was a quiet Sunday evening, but they made us so welcome. Every dish is fresh and piping hot. They have a superb gluten free menu, so nobody is left out. It’s an extremely authentic dinning experience.
Came on a Saturday at 7pm and it was surprisingly quiet - not sure if it gets busier later on?
Drinks selection is decent. Downside was the place smelled a bit.
Highly rated and rightly so.
Quiet on a Friday lunch time but what a lovely lunch served by Mandy with photo of us taken by the chef!
Great ale by Wensleydale Brewery (a highlight of this trip in many locations!) as an aperitif followed by stunning lamb, and two starters as a main soufflé and fishcakes. All 3 were really good.
Then the rhubarb crumble and the rhubarb dessert - both with Yorkshire rhubarb at its best.
Good wine by the glass and great coffee to finish with a nice little in house made chocolate cornflake bite on the side!
Cannot wait to go back and thanks for make our post Leyburn Circular walk lunch such a memorable
Experience.
*Note*
Not tried food yet so can't comment, only reason it gets 1 star.
Fantastic pub, been coming here for years, now it's Kirkstall Brewery it's better than ever
Come here at least twice a month for after work drinks with work mates and as part of date night with my wife.
Great selection of ales (I personally recommend the Black Band Porter) and lagers if you're a fan.
Lovely staff, whom are very chatty, and some lovely regulars.
Great place, recommended.
BBQ set for 2 opened at 4:30 pm.
We enjoyed authentic Korean bbq grilling beef, pork, seafood and chicken cooked as our own time to enjoy the dinner.
There are starters with pancakes, sweet and tasty chicken just before bbq was done. Highly recommend to try when you are visiting York 😍😍
Very disappointed as I wanted to buy an Afternoon Tea voucher on line for a friends birthday. Had to ring as the form was misleading. It took 2 hours to ring back re filling in the form and now I have paid and got the voucher it is not very inviting to give as a present as there is no mention of afternoon tea or anything about the Stained Glass centre. What a missed opportunity to promote the business especially if someone hasn’t been before. I could just have designed and printed my own on a plain piece of paper and give my friend the money.
Great staff, very friendly atmosphere as soon as we entered. The food was very tasty. We use it very often, so we recommend it to everyone.
* A small suggestion: Pictures of the dishes on the menu would be helpful.
We will be back.
