Istanbul Restaurant Bar & Grill Beverley in East Riding of Yorkshire

Went for my birthday, it was a quiet Sunday evening, but they made us so welcome. Every dish is fresh and piping hot. They have a superb gluten free menu, so nobody is left out. It’s an extremely authentic dinning experience.

Lovely food, attentive staff, and a great atmosphere. A family meal we all enjoyed, meat eaters and vegetarians.

We travelled for lunch, Tuesday 24th September. Website said open from 12 noon, we arrived after 1pm. Closed. Very disappointing.

Isaac our waiter was FANTASTIC!! The food was average at best - ‘saffron rice’ was just long grain rice with a teeny tiny bit of saffron to replace bulgar wheat. Quality was poor and quantity was not good - overpriced for what you got but we can’t fault the service.

Authentic Turkish food . We visited on Tuesday evening and were the only diners . Its a large restaurant so felt quite odd ! Food was good and typically Turkish . It would be great for a group of friends. Isaac who served us deserves a special mention. Obviously well trained in the hospitality sector . He should be snapped up by a 5 star hotel as manager.

The lunchtime menu is fantastic value for money two courses and a glass of wine for £16 also complementary bread which was delicious.. It iwas very quiet which surprised us because of the lunchtime offer although it was a weekday. The waitress was lovely and very welcoming. If you've not tried this place you should you won't be dissapointed

Visited istanbul restaurant in beverley tonight restaurant was very quiet, service was OK and the food was OK we had the set 2 course meal for 2 when the food came it looks a bit like the type of tourist meal you would expect if you Visited Turkey but tasted OK.The main problem tonight was the cash only situation as the card terminal wasn't working and then to add insult to the situation they add the very popular 10% surcharge to the bill which is becoming common place everywhere which I object to, leaving a tip should be up to the individual not the restaurant.

AVOID THIS PLACE ❌ i love Turkish restaurants and i have been in many BUT this is the Worst place i’v ever been in my entire life, food looked and tasted really bad and the price is absolutely insane for little amount of food also the guy didn’t give me the change back and gave me a dead look “ tip me “

not as good as it used to be, for the price meat was over cooked, presentation looked like a huge hotdog, meat did not fall apart like it should, was like it had been warmed up, expensive for what we got, in this day and age when eating out food should be cooked to perfection

Our first time at Istanbul Restaurant Beverley. I only wish there were more stars than 5 on Google Reviews, as this venue is absolutely 10/10. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The food was so special, especially the warm Turkish bread, so yummy! Turkish beer was great then a beautiful bottle of Red. Our hostess was so nice and really made our evening perfect. I had a most beautiful main course with Salmon and Prawns in a gorgeous creamy sauce. Highly recommended. Myself and my Boyfriend are definitely going back as it was such a wonderful evening. 🌟🇹🇷

I went today with my friends and it really was a thrilling experience. It was quiet probably because it’s a weekday but I liked how peaceful and beautiful it was. The decoration was sooo beautiful. I’ve never had Turkish food before so it was quite an experience. My friends and I had sooo much funnnnnnnnnn❤️

The food was very disappointing for the price. Main dishes are very small and just not great. I love kofte but found it very bland. Everyone's meals were small and bland. The staff stand nearby which I understand is so they can be attentive but it's just quite unearving. I also found it odd that we were seated right next to the only other people in the restaurant. I had to move their chair everytime I went to the loo even though the restaurant was empty. Just overall disappointing when you are spending that much money!

Have visited this restaurant many times over the years and it just keeps getting better. I know that due to some family ill health things were a little difficult recently, but the owner was really helpful and did his best to ensure our meal was perfect. The food is beautifully cooked and delicious. Also the decor and ambience is first class.

Disappointed to be honest. Portion sizes very small, 6 very small pieces of chicken. The menu says it comes with bulgar wheat but it actually came with rice. The restaurant is very bright. Won’t be returning there are far better restaurants out there for the prices these charge.

Had a lovely meal with a colleague. I asked hibiscus 🌺 tea, which they didn't have bit it triggered lots of chat with other guests and instead went for Turkish tea. Brilliant. Thank you for being hospitable.

We booked a table for 12pm for 4 people and had it confirmed on email and messenger. It says they actually open at 11am on their website. When we arrived the doors were locked, no lights on and clearly hadn't turned up. We called and no answer. Sent a message and still have no response at 330pm. It took us 30 mins to get there and our son has autism so went in meltdown. Absolutely disgusting attitude.

After reading other reviews I was looking forward to this meal. The food was nothing to write home about. The best bit at times was the side salad and bread. Some of the food was rather bland or tasted weird. The bill was worked out to be in their favour rather than ours. A set meal is not always cheaper than buying separately. This then took 10 minutes to sort out. I know the restaurant trade is struggling at the moment but little things like napkins or a meat knife with a mixed grill don't cost loads, but to the customer it shows attention to detail. Going out for a meal is also a big investment for the customer too. We were left disappointed.

We had a table for five. The food was bland. The sea bass was vile which my daughter had. For nearly £20. I expect a lot better. We ended up getting her some food on the way home from elsewhere. No new napkins are given after the starter or meat knifes to be able to get through the mix grill. My husband enjoyed the salad. They then tried to over charge us so make sure you check your bills. Then it took ages for the lady on the till to sort out. I am disappointed and will not be a returning customer which is a real same.

Booked a table today for 4:40pm as it allowed us to on the website. Even got a confirmation email for it. Just to get there and be told “we are closed”. He didn’t even apologise for the “misunderstanding” and quite literally was mannerless. The least u could do is offer an apology or an explanation. Fix your website if it’s got the wrong times on it!

A new experience turned into a disappointment. We went to this restaurant to seek new tastes and foods as we have been to Turkey for holiday not that long ago so we wanted to see what this restaurant had to offer for us. We arrived at the restaurant got seated straight away by the manger I believe, we orders a few drinks they arrived quickly, then we got the 3 course meal the waitress came to take our food order few minutes after our drinks we gotten the hot maze started the waitress said that all the hot stuff on the list will be included which they wasn’t if we knew we could choose which ones we wanted that would have been better unless she was new, we got frozen calamari, frozen peppers poppers etc I think non of our starter was home made. We gotten two separate mains instead of the mixed grill, my partner gotten the Turkish kebab which didn’t and wasn’t one served with microwave rice 100%, and I gotten the lamb krofte with cheese which was tasteless in my opinion and was more like a soup with meatballs then anything else with but of cheese on top with the same salad from the starter and the same microwaveable rice as my partner like the packet was split into two after we left our food more than half eaten they have taken it away and we waited OVER 45 MINUTES for someone to come up to our table to give us a dessert menu but no one never did bother to do that they saw it sitting there waiting but nobody came up to ask so we just got up to pay and left very disappointed and dissatisfied 😒 would not recommend customer service is shocking and we will never be going there again or recommending it to others

I visited with family, the owner was very helpful and friendly, the staff were amazing and personable. The food was incredible as was the atmosphere. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Definitely worth a visit. Car park is in front of the restaurant. I'm very much looking forward to going again.

Once again had an excellent meal and as always made very welcome by the owner, Ruby the waitress was also very helpful ,superb portions , delicious . We have been previously with friends and had a really good night , so keep up the good work and we will be back again

Enjoyed the most beautifully cooked Mediterranean meal in lovely surroundings. Staff were friendly and welcoming. First time here by recommendation and did not disappoint. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely family meal here, plenty of dishes to choose from for all of us and the portions were excellent! The staff were amazing and helped with anything questions we had, the restaurant was very clean and beautifully decorated with a brilliant atmosphere! We'll definitely be back here again soon!!

We came to Istanbul for my partners birthday this weekend and can honestly say this was some of the nicest food we have had in a long time. Not only was this the best food but the staff and service was outstanding. Such a friendly atmosphere and gorgeous restaurant, the staff could not do enough for you. Would recommend Istanbul to everyone! Thank you so much for a lovely meal and we will be back very shortly.

Superb lunch with a friend today at the Istanbul Restaurant in Beverley. The food was delicious and fabulous friendly service. Vast choice of dishes available. Can highly recommend . The restaurant is clean with a nice ambiance . Handy car parking available across the road . Will be going back again very soon.

We came in for dinner on a Friday night and we’re served promptly and with very friendly service (thanks Isaac, and Izzy!) Food was lovely and huge - we ordered the set meals for two (hot mezze platter, mixed grill to share and a pudding) and were essentially defeated by the starter (although we did order an extra prawn starter and extra hummus, which we didn’t actually need in the end). The bread is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, the meats were juicy and the platters had plenty of variety on them. 10/10 looking forward to our next visit :)

Me and my partner went to this restaurant on friday December 29th. I've never been to this restaurant or any Turkish restaurant. However, my parnter had been to this one previously and loved it. Well where do i start with this fantastic restaurant. The staff ....could not be any more friendlier. The restaurant was quiet that evening which i don't know how it could be as the food is amazing. So they had more time to concentrate on each table. We had a really interesting chat throughout the evening with one of the waiters, an extremely friendly and helpful man, especially when my partner was asking what the difference was between certain dishes etc. He even helped us by ringing a local taxi for us at the end. And when the food arrived, delicious, every single bite. A lot of the food i had i have not tried before, well i will be trying it again if it's cooked and presented as well as it was that night. There was also a good selection of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. The location is great, its in central area of beverley so within easy reach of most of beverleys accommodation. I will be back at some point and recommending this place as well.

This was our 4th visit to Istanbul and again it was excellent! The food is always delicious - and there’s plenty of it too! All staff are very friendly and the service is excellent… every time. The food and waiting staff are brilliant. Highly recommended!!

Well i thought i would give this restaurant a try in Beverley as the other turkish restaurant closed down ,On entering it us very bright, to bright ,we where showed to our table, which was squshed in between 2 others.It wasn't that busy ,at the time ,the music is quite loud ,the food was just ok the portions are quite small ,and the rice is just rice not bulger rice as says on menu .The staff if anything where abit to much as was asked 4 times if we were ok .To some up place needs to have more of a an ashmospere, the food bigger portions ,thw staff to be more relaxed ,and oh yes you dont get any warm bread and dips while waiting for your food.All in all not as half as good as the one that closed down .

It’s a nice restaurant laid out well, the service was a bit awkward, verging on overly attentive. The food was just ok. We had the hot meze which included some cheap, processed, frozen calamari which was really not good. Then we had the mixed grill which was luke warm and again ok at best. Nothing (except the calamari) was terrible, but it was all a bit bland, definitely no wow factor and for the price it really isn’t value for money. All salad was brown and limp. 100% could make it better at home and that sort of defeats the object of going out and spending over £100 on a meal. It’s got the potential to be good but definitely missed the mark. I absolutely love Turkish food and was excited to try this place but will definitely be the first and last time. If you like mediocre then this is definitely the spot for you!

I have been several times to this fabulous restaurant with my sister, parents and my husband and have always enjoyed the experience and service we receive. The food is so fresh and delicious, the service is so friendly and personal you feel like part of the family when you eat here! It’s truly amazing! Recently we went to celebrate a birthday and was, once again, blown away by the generosity and incredible experience we had. Such wonderful people who really cater to your every need! Well worth a visit for a true taste of incredible Turkish cuisine and hospitality! Thank you so much ☺️ we will always be loyal customers xx

On a rare night out we decided to try here for tea. We had the set meal with the hot meze and all the food was cooked beautifully. The staff were slightly too attentive as it was quieter (got offered deserts before our main meal) but they were all polite and well dressed. Puddings were good although I do prefer baklava with a scoop of ice-cream personally. Only thing that let the meal down was the tea, I asked for an apple tea expecting a traditional Turkish one and it was a herbal bag one which broke so I couldn't actually drink it and the drinks were taken away before I had a chance to comment on it so ended up paying for a pretty awful drink. Apart from that overall it was good.

Had a great meal here. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. The place looks nice too it has a nice atmosphere. I had the garlic mushrooms which was thriving with flavour. I had the lamb shank which itself was great, the rice was a bit bland but that's my only critique. The main guy there came over to see if our food was good which was nice and the food was nice. For our main course 3 people came to check the same thing to see if the food was good. They were just all trying to be helpful which was good. Would definetaly recommend, they had a nice menu and our food was really good. If you need to park there is a public car park just opposite. They have a website you can pay otherwise it is cash only. A good thing was the resturant changed a £5 for us so we could pay for parking which was nice.

The place is generally not a good representation of what Turkish cuisine is like. The food was good but not Turkish. I definitely don’t recommend Iskender Kebab as it is not Turkish Iskender Kebab, which was put as “Turkish signature dish” on the menu. I was so excited to show my boyfriend what Iskender was but it ended up with such a disappointment.. even the music wasn’t Turkish. People were friendly tho

Fantastic Turkish experience brought back memories of our Turkish holiday earlier this year. Fantastic staff and wonderful food.

One of the worse Turkish food I had in my life. We were 3 of us and none of us finish the food on our plate specially the salmon. Waitress asked us if salmon was ok and I said nope not really and she said oh ok and walked away.

Maybe we got it on a bad night! The service was very poor and the young girls did not appear to know what they were doing! Lack of training from the owner! We asked for a jug of water which arrived but sadly no glasses!...

I'm thinking the warning signs were there when we first got seated. Horrible flashing, LED dots emanating from a box on the wall flying around the room. This was followed by the waitresses singing happy birthday to music being blasted from broken speakers. At this point I thought I was part of a film set. The poor waitresses had no idea what to do, I can't imagine their training was extensive. It took just under 1 hour for our food to arrive, I personally ordered falafel. Moist with oil, it crumbled to dust as soon as I put my fork into it. I ordered fries to accompany, these were sticks of potato which obviously behaved like sponges when immersed in oil. I ate nothing. The best came last. We requested the bill. We were charged for wine, Peroni beer and coke, which we didn't order. Begrudgingly I paid for the food we ate. Would I return? Hell no!!!! It was a joke from the minute we walked into the place.

Having arrived in Beverley we had a wander around and couldn't decide where to go. There are lots of little independents anyway we saw the menu and went in. It reminded me of a number of places we have previously visited in Turkey and Greece....

Service was excellent, food very disappointing in terms of taste, extremely bland, a shame as normally this style of food is full of flavour, restaurant was half full at best but everyone seated in the window area made it noisy. Also over priced.

Izaac was a real asset to the restaurant. Had the mixed grill apart from the lamb chop the meat had no seasoning. The chilli sauce had no chilli the tzatziki was nice. The salad consisted of shredded lettuce and a grilled tomato. It advertised it as one skewer of chicken, one of lamb and one of minced lamb kebab. And a lamb chop. You got 3 chunks of chicken and lamb. A patty of mince and a chop. With a diet coke and a cup.of tea and one starters and a dessert between two £80. You decide if good value for money.

I took my husband here for a meal out and we had a wonderful time. The food was so tasty, the staff perfectly attentive and the surroundings ambient and fun at the same time. If that sentence made no sense, you will see what I mean when you go there. Sadly no photos of the food as we both annihilated our meals in no time at all! Fab!

I like Turkish food. I like grilled meats. This was good and authentic. It's a big restaurant and I was there on a quiet night, so it was hard to get much ambience, but that can't be helped.
