Busy for a Tuesday night. Food and service acceptable but not amazing. Had a mix of hot and cold meze. On arrival we found our reservation had been added to the diary wrong and instead of an apology they said you must have called the wrong restaurant. On showing our call log they then realised it was their mistake. Luckily there was still space a disappointing start.

The food is good but not exceptional. The portions seem abundant only because the dishes add a lot of pitta and chips The place is clean and the service is normal. I recommend it if you are not hungry!!

Always very friendly and welcoming. The food never fails to get me thinking of summer holidays and warmer climates. No small portions, I can rarely finish the entire meal, and the Baclava is absolutely amazing. Whether you want lunch or dinner I would highly recommend the Greek.

We came tonight for a meal with our 3 children and had such a lovely meal! The food was fantastic and service exceptional👌🏽 ! Our daughter has a food allergy and the manager was amazing and so helpful with everything. The rest of the staff were all so smiley and friendly and a big thank you to the manager who was great! We had two of the mixed grills and we all left so full and enjoyed everything and it was great to get to try a bit of everything! We will definitely be back soon! Thank you 🤩

Booked online, which turned out to be a good move! It was full! Tuesday night, which we took as a good sign. Annnd it was, really nice warm welcome and placed in the snug room to the rear. Good choice of authentic Greek food. We had a couple of cold and warm starters. The vine leaves around rice were delicious. We had mixed gyros each for our mains. HIGHLY recommend, so tasty, and the plate, all though it looked small, was packed full of delicious tomatoes, meat, onions, and very tasty fries. For afters, we had two puds, which we shared. One was orange and syrup cake, and the other was a flakie pastry with custard filling with icing sugar (?) on top. The Mythos larger was cold and went down well. Will I go again? YES! Book, enjoy!! Very reasonable priced too. Forgot to take pictures to busy eating 🙃 😅 a little word of thanks to the young lady that served us, she was brilliant knew her stuff friendly and nice to talk too.

A group of 14 catered for. Had a table for two hours. Unsurprisingly it was busy / lively for a Friday night. The mixed gyros was great. Ask for it open. £2 more but worth it. Waiting staff friendly and helpful. Will be going back.

Do not use uber -eats Says it was delivered but it wasn’t we had to reorder and pay twice ( how ever the food we did get was really nice )

My first time in this restaurant but second time visiting the chain/group of restaurants having visited the other in Hull. The food was yummy and came out hot! The staff were super friendly and took our orders promptly. I think the food was nicer & larger portions in the other branch (I may be mistaken on the portions!) We also were asked if we wanted our Gyros wrapped or on the plate but at this branch we were not.

Service was quick, staff were welcoming and polite and the food and drinks were great highly recommend

To start with upon arrival at 5.30, we was greeted with..... you have to go before 7pm, not welcome or hello! Had to send food back and the reply was, well its a hard dish to cook, (calamari). Who's doing the cooking ? 1st and last time we'll go again. 😖

Very cozy restaurant, the ambiance was warm and inviting. Nice spot for a meal with friends and family. The food was simply delicious and bursting with authentic flavors, capturing the essence of Greek cuisine. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Food portions were generous and reasonable priced. Will definitely visit again when in the area. The chocolate cake is a must. Thank you for a great visit.

The man I believe to be the owner or manager that called me during the day and then spoke to me before we left was very nice! Thanks!

I dined here last evening 11th June 2024 and wow blown away. The staff were all brilliant in particular maybe the manager maybe the owner ? He advised on wine, he advised on dishes and even the pudding. Very good service, nicely busy on a Tuesday night great to see. Would visit again for sure I wish they were more local. I visited the Greek in Hessle with a friend of mine and we both loved it. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was great too, we had two young girls serving us and they were both so friendly and polite. Everything is carried out to such a great standard, I’ll definitely recommend this place to my friends :) thanks for a lovely time guys!

This was a bit hit and miss. I arrived a little early so sat outside while waiting for my dining companion. A young lady came out to check I was OK and I was soon set up with a nice glass of red. Great service. Once my guest arrived we went in and found a table. We selected a few more dishes than we probably needed but isn't that always the way. The dishes arrived as they were ready. In general all of the dishes were good. However I found a small piece of bone in one of the meatballs which immediately stuck between my teeth. Toothpick needed. Plus the calamari could have been hotter and a bit crisper. At the end of the meal my guest ordered a coffee with cream. They didn't have any cream. I suggested they went over the road to the shop and bought some but apparently not allowed to happen. And then what really spoiled it for me. I ordered a Metaxa 7* brandy. A really good brandy. And it came in a whisky glass. We don't have any brandy glasses I was told. I know it's pedantic but sometimes things just have to be right. I've given this place 4 stars. 3.5 stars would be more realistic.

Fantastic Greek food in a lovely setting. We shared the mixed grill for two, we were really looking forward to it, and it didn't disappoint. The platter it arrived on just about covered the whole table. The food was fantastic, and somehow to our surprise we managed to eat the lot, and even the waiter was impressed, and we also had room to share a baklava.

Came here for a birthday party, fantastic atmosphere, staff and the food was brilliant.

Called on Monday 29th January at 5.00pm on our way to Hull New Theatre we ordered the Chicken Gyros with 1 x greek salad a white wine spritzer and soft drink , the food was excellent and service was brilliant so tasty lovely atmosphere total £32 would definitely recommend

The Greek is a really good Greek restaurant. They serve mostly traditional Greek food, including kebabs and Greek cheese salads, etc. I highly recommend the mixed grill platter for two. Such a variety of meats and a lot of it. It's a nice cosy, little restauran, the service was excellent and the staff are friendly. The Greek music got on my nerves after a while, but that is the only complaint. There is an outside seating area at the front.

Felt like a little Greek oasis, went just on the of chance. Waitress was polite helpful and even chased after us to return my wife's scarf. The food was awesome, really enjoyed it and was very tasty. Far surpassed my expectations. What a gem of a restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We shared different mezze dishes, all of which were excellent. Great atmosphere, decor, music etc etc. Very good value too. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved our meal here for our granddaughters birthday. I've never had Gyros before but chose the mixed meat one. It was delicious. The sweet I chose was fantastic it was filo pasty with apple and cinnamon, I can't remember the Greek name. It would have fed 2 people though. All staff were courteous and attentive, we definitely will be back.

Can't fault anything about The Greek in Hessle. I had never tried Greek food before, but I can honestly say it is far The best, tastiest food I have ever eaten. The staff were fantastic, I will definitely be eating there again.

Normally we go to The Aegean in Hull which is excellent, but we’d heard great things about The Greek so thought we’d try it out for a change, on looking at the menu I thought it seemed very limited, especially as far as seafood goes but it does state they have a specials board, unfortunately when we arrived at 7.30 on a Friday evening we were told there are no specials, so how can you call yourselves a greek restaurant without any fish on the menu. So after pondering the menu we decided on the mixed grill, which admittedly was nice apart from the lamb chops which were overcooked and very chewy. Needless to say we won’t be going again.

8 of us met up for an early evening meal, we all agreed it was awesome in every way, we all enjoyed our food, there was plenty of it, staff were polite and friendly, as it was our first time, pointing out helpful tips so as not to over order, we will definitely be going again

We had the mixed grill for 2 and certainly enough food for 3, so we were kindly offered packaging to bring away our leftovers! Looking forward to my lunch today! Lamb loin chops as good as any I have ever tasted, and I come from the west coast of Ireland where our lamb is famed for it's flavour. Finished off with two lovely Greek desserts, a few cold Greek beers and a complimentary shot of Ouzo. The front of house manager was so friendly and helpful that he surely added to a very pleasant experience. As our daughter lives in Hessle, we'll be back whenever we visit. A lovely place. Super, fresh food. Ordered cold and hot Meze. We weren't waiting long. Food came out in batches when ready. The dishes were tasty and portions were a good size. Staff were friendly and attentive. Took our 1 year old and he was happy nibbling on the Meze. Very happy - will definitely be back and will bring more people!

The meze looked incredible but I had the halloumi gyros wrap and it was a beauty. Take-away (collection only) is available.

We went rather early, popped in as we were passing for an early evening meal. 5.00pm. Not many people in but I believe it was fully booked.

Absolutely cannot fault anything about The Greek - Hessle. This is THE BEST location. The chefs are consistently fantastic, we generally always order the mixed grill platter and the pork steaks are always grilled to crispy perfection, you get so much food also, could easily share between 3. The staff are always lovely, very attentive but know when to let you enjoy your meal. Very welcoming place no matter what you're visiting for. We have turned up in very casual clothes on a spare of the moment visit on a Saturday night and still feel welcomed.

Not great we booked on line and they could not find the booking then was told you have to leave the table by 8pm I will not be coming back service not good !

What a great little place! It was recommended to us by various locals and it did not disappoint. The food was very good, the atmosphere excellent (there was plenty of outdoor seating too), and the staff were super friendly. I'd definitely pop in again if I find myself in this part of the world.

We was booked at a nearby restaurant for a hen party however unfortunately there was an issue in the kitchen which meant evacuation and fire engines turning up. The place we was booked into went across to the Greek to ask if we could all sit in there to keep warm. (A party of 12) they let us sit in downstairs then moved us upstairs. They where extremely accommodating considering we hadn’t booked. We wasn’t going to order food until another party separate to us did and it looked and smelled delicious. The waitress couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful and even giving us a round of shots!! Deffs will return after the amazing service

Couldn't fault the food but just seemed we were rushed. I'd try it again though definitely.

Lovely food. All fresh and well presented. Staff are very welcoming. We had a mixed Gyros with a few Hot Meze dishes on the table to share.

We had a mix grill which was enough for 4 to be honest. The staff were lovely and the meat was cook perfectly. We went at 12.15pm as it just open but do recommending to book ahead as within a hour half the front was filled up.

Really enjoyed this place! Food was absolutely delicious and the service was spot on. I gave 5 stars for atmospheric because although it was very quiet (Tuesday evening) it didn't feel uncomfortably quiet. Would highly recommend!

Our Sunday evening dinner was notable for its substantial servings and amiable serving staff. Our orders were both taken quickly and served quickly. The servings were more than we could eat , although the fare was average. Going again for a casual meal we would order less food.

After just an hour of finishing our food and ordering more drinks, my friend and I were asked to move to “the bar” as they had a table of 4 booked in (bearing in mind I booked my table in advance). “The bar” consisted of a chest of drawers front which was uncomfortable to sit at and when told we would be promised another table, this never happened. My friend and I were basically sat in the middle of the restaurant, in the way of the servers, and customers were barging into us due to lack of space, extremely disappointing considering I booked our table in advance!

Delicious, authentic Greek food at reasonable prices. The Greek has a variety of options for many palettes, and is a welcome bit of variety in the neighborhood.
