The Pancake House in Harrogate

Quite dissappinting that there are no gluten free options on the menu. I didn't expect gluten free pancakes as I know it may be hard to ensure no cross contamination but it would have been nice if they had some gluten free cakes instead. Their solution was that I could make my own meal off the menu using any ingredients which were gluten free or a salad. Which was pretty much a cooked breakfast with no bread or a salad which I didn't fancy in the morning!

We stopped for a late lunch and ordered two savoury pancakes and two brunches, one with mushrooms and bacon and one with eggs and salmon. The service was slow despite the place not being particularly busy. The brunches were ok but nothing to write home about and certainly overpriced for what they were. The pancakes were not very nice, especially the Margherita one as it was undercooked and the cheese didn’t taste good. We then had two desserts. The ice cream was good but the biscoff cake was dry. Overall sadly we didn’t enjoy the experience enough to come back again in future, sorry.

Lovely venue overlooking the Bridge with quick and attentive staff. Although its a pancake shop (and they are truly excellent), the main attraction for me here was the waffles which are made fresh using a waffle iron. We love Belgian waffles and these were exactly like those of the Brussels style.

A gem in the village ! We got the soup of the day meal which was a homemade potato and leak soup with bread on the side served with a teapot of tea followed by a lemon and cinnamon pancake. Staff were all welcoming and kind, real value for money. Would deffo recommend and come again !

Really nice caffe, we had late lunch in there, staff were attentive, food delicious. Never had such a nice savoury pancakes before. Had a friendly chat with owner. Would definitely come back if in area.

Food was great as always, can't fault it. However wasn't impressed with some staff members this time. Firstly, lady with brown hair having a go at the male staff member loud enough where we could hear it. Then lady with the grey hair very loudly in front of customers, having a go at the same male staff member over a mistake with an order. Mistakes are easily made and the way she handled it wasn't professional. I don't know his name but he served us and was great, very attentive and friendly!

Never fails to delight! I love this place. I trip out especially from Leeds just to visit...... And my children!

Not a hint of coffee in it but like I said still very nice. The Pancake house is a nice cafè. The service I got from one waitress was lovely and prompt,with a smile. The coffee was fine. I was less impressed by most of the other staff. They hung around, did little except chat and drink. What was worse was the constant touching of own hair, face etc and then touching food/equipment. I would return for coffee as I had good service.

Not the cheapest but the food was excellent. I had Piri Piri Chicken pancake which was spicy but not over the top.

I wouldn't know what this place was like as, I've never been 🤔. I must have stopped and looked in your window. Google has taken that as a visit, your establishment looked lovely, with a delicious menu. Sorry for the one star but, as I said, I've never been in your cafe.

The range and quality of pancakes is fantastic. Very friendly service. It was busy when we went so was a bit chaotic

Excellent place. They don't do gluten free pancakes, but they were happy to make me breakfast and I had my own bread. Really helpful, and perfectly cooked poached eggs!

As always a real friendly place to eat. The food is always spot on as is the service. I must now add that having visited yesterday the toasted teacakes are now tiny in size and for the price charged not acceptable. I've spent a lot of money at this establishment but honestly you're not supplying the goods anymore I feel cheated and won't be returning.

Why add a service charge!!! Food was good and the young girls serving was lovely but the owner is sat in the window watching ALL the time and talked to his staff so bad!! I would leave girls, there are better jobs out there! I want to know if the staff get the service charge!!!!

Went for a takeout rhubarb milkshake which was fabulous. My wife and had ice cream which was also excellent. Well worth a visit.

I came here today as i was visiting my family in Pateley Bridge. I was exploring my childhood village. I have been to the pancake house before many years ago but now it has new ownership and is much better! The food was really nice and a good price. The owner is turkish and I had a really good chat with him as I recently came back from Turkey myself. He kindly gave me a complimentary hot drink - standard turkish hospitality! I recommended you visit here!

This is the second time I have been here and both times there have sadly been issues. The first time - the owner was heard shouting at a member of staff in the kitchen in an abusive manner which was really upsetting. The second time more recently (thought I’d give it a second chance) the radio in the kitchen mashed with a different radio station in the cafe which was an uncomfortable listen, we were initially invited to sit where we liked and then told exactly where to sit even though the cafe was relatively empty. Our pancakes were delicious but our cold drinks were warm. Not the best from a fresh food establishment that charges a compulsory 10% on your bill (see note at bottom of menu). Sadly, we will not be visiting here again.

Delicious pancakes and waffles,sweet and savoury. Cooked to order..... enjoyed a strawberry milkshake and tuna melt pancake with a fresh salad. Lots of ice cream flavours.

The food was really quite nice and the staff were initially relatively ok. It was dog friendly and seemed clean so we chose to grab some late breakfast after a morning walk. I noticed on the menu a "small print" note at the bottom stating "this is a fresh food not fast food establishment, 10% service charge will be included in your total bill." Knowing this in advance we were less happy to stay but expected great service and fresh food. Whilst as mentioned the food we ate was very nice, However, I had initially asked if I could have an egg with my bacon sandwich, a request that for a place that makes pancakes wouldn't seem out of the ordinary. I was told no? On enquiring why I was initially told that they had no chef on that day and that the "manager" who was filling in didn't like handling eggs? Bizarre but then we got to wondering how the pancakes were going to be made without eggs. Especially since the shop specialised in making pancakes. On further enquiry when paying later we were told a batter mix was premade earlier in the week? So maybe not as fresh as implied on the menu. We declined the 10% service charge as the service was not brilliant, the owner was indignant, rude and could hardly converse. He was even rude to his own staff when they spoke, telling them to shut up and keep out of it? In summary, we won't return.

Been visiting here for the last 5 years. We have a gluten free child so it was amazing that we could take him and he had several choices. Then we went today and they no longer offer a gluten free option. Such a shame as we have always enjoyed visiting.

Didn’t eat here - just to make aware they no longer offer gluten free pancakes. No gluten free alternatives available such as bread, was advised I could buy my own bread and they could toast it. They were very friendly and apologetic but a shame not able to accommodate as they previously had

Pretty rude and dismissive staff - except the young girl with glasses. A takeaway coffee seemed like an enormous imposition. Furthermore, at nearly £4 a cup, you’d expect there to be enough coffee in it to taste it.

Have taken the two grandchildren here for ice cream cornets after school for years now and l have a coffee. This week we got 10% service charge on our bill !!! Disgusted shan't go again.

Good and convenient place for a snake or freshly cooked pancake. Dog friendly and on the main street 3 stars because it was extremely noisy and I had to leave before I had finished as one of our wee dogs is noise sensitive but didn't want to say that till you asked!

All 8 of us enjoyed our pancakes with a range of fillings. Tummies very full when we left!

Had maple cured bacon on sourdough and a strawberry and Nutella pancake. Scrummy! Really friendly staff and welcoming to dogs, too.

Don’t bother asking for gluten free alternatives as they do not do them anymore. Found the service quite abrupt with no apology.

A must when passing through or visiting Pately Bridge! The pancakes, both savoury and sweet, are delicious and the mushrooms are honestly the best I’ve ever had as part of a breakfast/brunch. Friendly staff and a lovely setting with loads of choice.

Got only ice cream and dog cakes. Boy, was the doggy fond of them. Yet ice cream was even more delicious. A wide variety of those in place. Pancakes looked indeed yummy but we just had our lunch ensewhere and had only space left for an ice cream, which was a must and exactly here 🍦❤️🎯 Thank you for the good work you do.

Wow! So delicious! And the waffles are just the right size! We all left feeling very full but satisfied! The milk shakes are delicious and very filling and the smoothies are sooo good! Such a great place to eat! Can't wait to go back.

Very popular and a superb eatery with show cooking of pancakes. Having parked the bikes in the car park opposite it was heaven to get a table at lunchtime immediately and get warmed up this winter's day. We ordered the Autumn special comprising tea or coffee, leek & potato soup with a slice of crusty bread followed by a tasty pancake dusted in cinnamon. The staff were very welcoming, very friendly and super attentive. Highly recommended.

Having lived in Ramsgill some 15 years ago, we decided to visit Pateley Bridge today after a walk around Brimham Rocks - amazed to see almost every establishment closed, luckly the Pancake House wasn't! Delicious food and service with a smile. Will come back if ever back in Pateley!

Soup and pancakes excellent, but coffee was weak

Overall, lovely but could do an extractor to reduce the cooking smells in the main room.

Out on a brutal bike ride in the chilly December Yorkshire Dales and we dropped into Pateley Bridge to warm up and have a bite to eat. Great food, attentive sercice and a fair price. Will be back, legs willing!

The best waffles & the bacon was incredible! Our German shepherd loved all the attention from the very kind staff as well.

Fantastic! Pancakes first class, sleeply prices but worth every penny! Wife had a goat cheese caramelised onion and says it was scrumptious 😋 The service was fantastic too and with a big smile. Will be back for more, definitely!

Ordered two bacon and egg sandwiches, one on sourdough, one with soft bacon and runny eggs and a dog treat. Both came on a tea cake, the bacon wasn’t soft. One taken away, second was told we coat it with honey and part cook, then cook to order so it’s just warmed through. So I asked can I gave it without the honey and was told no, so sent it back. Had to ask for the dog treat, we were told they would bring it. Been here several times and was surprised with the attitude. Dog friendly which was good.

What an amazing place. Food was absolutely delicious!!! Staff were so accommodating and polite. Even allowed our friendly pooch in to have a nice little doggy snack. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Absolutely perfect place to visit and have good food 🥰🥰

Well run café with a young staff who were very pleasent. The service was very good. Would definitely recommend it. The parking was just over the road.

Fantastic service and food. One of the party is vegan so had the smashed avocado on sourdough bread, a coffee and a milkshake created by our waitress made from Vegan Vanilla Ice-cream, Oat Milk and Oreo biscuits. Great atmosphere and will be sure to visit again.

Always visit The Pancake House when visiting Pateley Bridge. No matter if you only want a drink or a meal, the staff and food are fantastic. Full credit to them.

Pateley Bridge is one of my favourite places, but the Pancake House has made it even better!

Absolutely perfect service again. Slowly eating our way through the menu, something different every time! Friendly staff, very accommodating to different size groups etc, dog friendly.

Very nice food. Never tried savoury pancake and I was a bit adamant to give it a go. But I’m glad I did as it works very well and I really enjoyed it. The smoothie was very good also. Recommended 👍🏻

Here is very tasty ice cream! I chose strawberry. The atmosphere is pleasant. It is very cozy here. The shop assistant girl is very nice and friendly. I like The Pancake Hause. I recommend it to everyone. 😍
