We had a voucher from Travelzoo and so on Thursday we girded our loins and took the risk. the staff were very sensible and seated everyone as far apart as possible and kept their contact to a minimum. The food was great and very well displayed. The haddock smokie with egg was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection. The Harrogate sticky toffee pudding was sweet but not sickly A very enjoyable evening. Let's hope the virus doesn't spoil this resurant.

The prix fixe menu Qu is well worth a try if you find the a la carte a bit too much on a weekday night.We both found our meals really well prepared and tasty, and excellent value for money at £18.95 for three courses.

We called late to get a table at this restaurant. What a great place absolutely lovely meal, we had the set menu, and just managed three courses. Haddock starter, followed by Ribeye perfectly cooked to my liking with an excellent source, my wife had the chicken, again perfectly cooked, and that sticky toffee pudding was amazing, try it that’s all I’m saying. My husband and I first found the Quantro restaurant last year when we booked a meal for our wedding anniversary on a friends recomendation ,they did not disapoint us as we had a great meal and was well looked after by all the staff so we decided to book again this year and no they did not disapoint ,the food ,friendly staff and suroundings were just as inviting as last year . they do a good selection from the main menu and a set menu if you wish to order from it at a reasonable price ,very spoilt for choice .We had fish rissotto followed by chicken then cherry , rhubarb and vanilla icecream. Harrogate has the best icecreams and my husband chose sticky toffee pudding with marmalade custard . Thank you so much for helping to make our night so special in very special surroundings

Having tried the fixed price menu and been highly satisfied, we made a special trip to try the main menu using our taste card. Put it this way, whenever we are in Harrogate in the future this is where we will eat. I don't usually have sticky toffee pudding for desert, but as this seemed to be a house speciality I gave it a go. It was one of the best deserts that I have ever eaten.

This really was an excellent lunch in a lovely part of town.Both the chicken and the mackerel were a lovely combination of flavours and ingredients,artfully presented and immaculately cooked.The sticky toffee pudding beautifully done too.And given the price this must be not only the best lunch in town,but also by far,the best value.Thank you-we will be back!

The food and service were very good - (steak diane sauce wasn't the best I've tasted). But it is amazing value for money and we will certainly go again.

What a great experience! Hubby and I dined Saturday lunch in this lovely place. We had seen it advertised through Travelzoo and purchased the 3-course deal.We were looked after by smiling friendly staff who were also ultra efficient. The atmosphere overall was calm and relaxing. The food was outstanding. Each course an absolute delight. The portions were not small and the quality of our meal was top class. We have to travel over an hour each way to get to Harrogate but we will definitely be back just to go to Quantro.

Visited this restaurant last night. A brilliant restaurant and top quality food. Its in central Harrogate and has great staff. Reasonably priced and a good wine list too. We will definitely eat here again.

Came here about 20 years ago and hoped it would still be as good. It was, I’m not sure the menu had even changed though! Delicious food, interesting and unusual menu and reasonable value.

We ate at Quantro last night.a warm welcome,attentive but not intrusive waiter service.food is fantastic, unique and all cooked fresh to order. To start I had the scallop dish, really delicious and main was the cod dish,amazing.I will highly recommend Quantro to friends and family.Will definitely return.well done to the team.

Lovely decor, friendly staff and Genuine and fresh food; I was shocked how tender was my cod and how superb was our dining experience. Quantro in Harrogate really was a very pleasant surprise. Nice location...welcoming evening exterior...professional and friendly greeting and really very appealing Early Bird menu. We both chose Thai spiced parsnip soup (which had a nice light Thai kick at the end) ...and between us we had the Chicken breast with winter root vegetable mash, black pudding fritter, with plenty of spring onion beurre rouge sauce...and forest mushroom sausage, butternut squash potatoes, piperade peppers, and goats cheese sauce. Both were delicious...particularly the sauces. The Front of House waiter could not have been more ideally suited to the job. So yes, a pleasant surprise and a place to return.

Tried the three course special offer lunch and were highly satisfied. Will be back some time with our taste card to sample the a la carte menu.

Did the tasting menu which was very good. Would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant. Loved the ambience staff were excellent very friendly.

Mark and his team deliver a high standard of food and service. We have been coming here for years and it is always such delicious food and attentive service. Can highly recommend the Christmas menu. After sampling their delights earlier in the year and enjoying the overall experience we decided to revisit last week. The ambience creates a feeling of light and space with good lighting, a large mirror wall and spacious seating. We booked at lunchtime for the earlier sitting of 6 pm the later being 8:30pm and judging it's popularity a wise move. The food was very good with the two or three course selection of a shortened menu for the early bird, at a set price, or a more extensive a la carte. The variety and quality of the dishes were excellent.

We were a party of six staying at the Old Swan for the weekend and booked a table for Friday evening after travelling down from Newcastle. After speaking with Mark on the phone we all picked the Xmas menu to dine from and gave our choices a week in advance so the Chef could order correctly.

Ate in here with my wife at the weekend. Great friendly, professional greeting from the maitre d'. The place is bright and very nicely decorated and was about 2/3 full, which gave it a nice buzzy atmosphere.

Not sure if you are Italian or from Macedonia bud the food was ok,maybe the rumour that you are closing up put me off.

Not a big fan of pub grub so dropped in at Quantro for lunch on a shopping visit to Harrogate. Chose the lunch saver menu. Soup was vegetable and tasted really good. The little dumplings just finished it off perfectly. Main was a rice and stroganoff dish that had immense depth of flavours and the dessert sticky toffee pudding was to die for. With wine and water for 2 it still came to less than £40 and was excellent value for money. If your in Harrogate pop down to the Montpellier quarter and give it a go. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

We have been to Harrogate a few times and decided to try a few places we hadn’t been before based on TA reviews. This was the one restaurant out of the 4 that we tried that really hit the mark. Sensibly priced fine dining with good staff and a decent choice of menu even on the early doors menu. We don’t normally do desserts but in this case we did as they sounded so nice. We would recommend a visit .

Well another gem in Harrogate and getting a table booked at this restaurant is difficult which you have to book in advance.Not surprised as the food is cooked to your liking a wide range of choice and tasty.When it comes to pudding then I cannot complain about the Harrogate sticky toffee pudding rich tasty flavour and full of rich caramel flavour that you’ll enjoy.

Visiting Harrogate for a couple of days we had plumped for Quantro based on the reviews on TA and proximity to hotel.

I've lunched and dined enjoyably here numerous times in the past three years, and have always found the food and service to be outstanding, both at lunch and dinner.

Visited with friends on Friday evening and I was greatly disappointed, not by the food, but by the young female who served our table. She took orders rather unenthusiastically. Not only this, but when asked a couple of questions by my friends about the menu was again quite distant. As I was seated with my back to the main walkway, she took me by surprise when shoving a dish under my nose (like I said, from behind) no warning - no excuse me, the arm and plate came straight through!! I found that so very rude yet other members of staff were completely the opposite so I’m afraid, I do feel she let the team down.

For starters gateau of cured salmon & smoked halibut, pickled cherries, capers sour cream, gazpacho coulis (1st) Marinated wood pigeon, cured ham, blueberry bean salad, artichokes, wasabi hollandaise (2nd). Verdict absolutely to die for taste presentation were exceptional.

My husband booked a meal as the reviews here all comment on the fantastic vegetarian food available. Quantro did not disappoint! We had been watching the cycling world championships so knew we would have to book. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and really looked after. The staff were fantastic and the food was superb quality. I'm not sure that I could criticize anything here as it was that good. I will be going back to Harrogate and eating here again. Superb!!!

We were visiting Harrogate for the World Cycling Championships, and booked a table for a midweek dinner. Everything about Quantro was nigh on perfect: very nice ambience and excellent service but, above all, delicious food! My starter of king scallops on cauliflower polenta was exceptional - a generous portion of four beautifully cooked scallops, on little fried polenta pillows, and served with a side salad with pieces of tender grilled squid mixed in with it. My wife’s prawn tails starter was also very good - the prawns delicious, although the accompanying risotto perhaps a little overcooked.

Had the Early Bird Menu Qu 2 course meal deal for £15.95 which included 3 options on each course. We both selected the ham hock terrine for starters, then I had a chicken dish and my wife the hake dish for our main meals. The food was of excellent quality and extremely tasty. The service was quick and the staff were very friendly. We will definitely visit when we next come to Harrogate. Would highly recommend.

We visit Harrogate every year, now for the last 6 years. This is a great restaurant that we now visit every year. Great food, great value, friendly, warm service.

Lovely meal, pleasant service. The food was exquisite, perfectly cooked salmon starter and amazing sausage and bean mash main. Recommend to anyone in the area and not badly priced menus at all!

This place seems popular so I booked for late evening. I think most people eat here at lunch or early evening to get the early bird menu. The layout of tables is good, not too crowded. The clientele were surprisingly senior- I must admit I was expecting a younger vibe. We booked for 8.30 by which time there were several things not available. The steak was nice. Not amazing.

Oh, it was lovely, the best meal for ages. We don't live in Harrogate and it was an amazing find, food, service and wine all absolutely first class. The pigeon starter beautifully presented and amazingly tasty as was everything else.

Hadn't been to Quantro for a while when some friends suggested we meet up for a lunch. Quantro is a comfortable, small restuarant. It never feels noisy nor do you feel too close to others. The staff are nicely attentive. All in all a very easy venue for lunch and a chat.

We went early doors with friends for a meal. The staff were really professional and the food was really fresh and tasty. Everything was just faultless. All four of us had a great meal. Would highly recommend and will return.

I ate lunch here with two friends from the lunch deal menu. The food was excellent, creative, well presented and filling! The surroundings are stylish, the chairs are comfortable. The service is swift and friendly. How they create such food at such low prices is amazing. Also liked that the allergens are clearly colour coded on the reverse of the menu. A great place and thoroughly recommend it for anyone needing a delicious lunch on a budget!

We went here on a Groupon voucher so were on the set menu. There were 3 or 4 choices of each course. The food was lovely and very well presented. The staff were very helpful checking often if we needed anything and clearing table quickly.

Our 2nd visit didn't disappoint.Lovely place,friendly staff and amazing meals beautifully cooked and presented.Also served hot, not lukewarm like so many restaurants. When we next visit Harrogate we will definitely return here.

Visited this restaurant for an early evening 3 course set menu.

Visited Harrogate with friends an had lunch at this modern smart restaurant in the Montpelier area. Had a duck salad starter which contained plenty of duck. followed this with a main course of Hake which was cooked to perfection. Service was prompt and unobtrusive.

On Saturday we decided to go to Quantro, one of our favourite restaurants in Harrogate . We were celebrating our anniversary. There were quite a lot of new dishes on the menu since our last visit , but several of our old favourites were still there too . We decided to eat from the a la carte menu. It was really difficult to decide what to try as there were so many delicious sounding dishes . The fillet of hake , teriyaki crust, oriental vegetables, hoi sin noodles and ginger creme fraiche sauce was of particular note. The service was excellent as usual .

We visited as we were staying over night before the Great Yorkshire Show. We got the groupon deal and was not disappointed. We ordered extras including a bottle of Merlot, sides and the steak option. The bill was an additional £30 which was more than fair for the quality of the food and the service we received. It was a lovely meal.

we saw the lunch deal and we arrived literally 5 minutes before the deal finished at 1.55pm, the waitress wasn't sure but the chef said it was fine for us to come for lunch and we were so lucky he agreed. What an amazing meal, such a quality of taste, the details really made each plate of food quite spectacular. I'd definitely go again, extremely good value for money, polite and courteous staff, a really delightful setting.

We spotted this restaurant earlier in the day and arrived just after 6pm to take advantage of the early dining option. The restaurant filled up quickly despite it being a Monday evening and when the food arrived it was easy to see why - delicious food, skilfully prepared and beautifully presented. My only quibble would be that our cocktails didn't arrive together and we would have liked a little more time to savour them before the food arrived - early shouldn't mean rushed.

Ate here last week with a Groupon voucher given as a gift. Three courses with tea or coffee. Both had the minestrone soup which lacked both flavour and seasoning, one had chicken and one steak which I would call very average fair and finished with pecan and treacle tart which was overly sweet. With the cost of the voucher and the cost of drinks it was almost £70. Did we think it was worth it, no as still felt unfulfilled afterwards, would we return, doubtful.

Just had a lovely vegan set lunch with my mum at Quantro restaurant in Harrogate. The food is delicious and you can chose from 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts. I went for the 2 course option and skipped the dessert, but the desserts also looked scrumptious.

I dine regularly at Quantro because the food is excellent, the atmosphere warm and friendly, and very important to me, no piped music!

Quantro is like a really really good friend. We go hoping for another memorable visit and rediscover the art of taste and understated elegance. Unlike the new brash “kids on the block” Quantro has been doing it right for years. Right food, right size, right place. We went for the Menu Q (ie order from a slightly restricted menu before 19.30) and had all 3 courses. The starters alone were stunning! Tasty beautifully presented, no rush or drama. Mine was Minestrone with a depth of taste I had forgotten, Pauline had a chicken Caesar salad and amazed how tasty and chicken was plentiful. We then went on to the steak. This is one of Quantro’s we’ll kept secrets. Steak and thin fries prepared EXACTLY as requested, piping hot, generous with really savoury (but unintrusive) sauce in a jug. Wonderful. Then desserts did not disappoint. Another wonderful meal. Thank you Quantro, if there was a 6* rating we’d give it.

We wanted a nice meal out with the kids - something fancy as they are 12-15 and we like to challenge them with interesting food - and we have Meerkat Meals, which Quantro accept Sunday - Thursday.

We were wandering around Harrogate as first time visitors trying to find somewhere for a light lunch. We were tempted by the look of the menu and the inexpensive 1, 2 or 3 course options. Original plan was to just have one course but it was so delicious and inexpensive we decided to add on a dessert! Service was friendly and attentive. Thoroughly recommended. Wish there was something like this back home.

Visited recently as a couple on a three course evening groupon deal and from first entering the restaurant we were made to feel at home unlike some other establishments. The food throughout the three courses was as good as we've eaten recently and believe me we do visit a lot of restaurants. The drinks are reasonable bearing in mind its location in Harrogate. We never felt rushed by the staff and when we requested breathing space between courses this was not a problem. All the staff were pleasant and attentive without being overbearing. As the title states when we're in Harrogate again this will be our first port of call.

Absolutely lovely food. It's my go to restaurant in Harrogate. I've been eating here for decades (since when it was Cafe Fleur) and I think it gets better. We noticed on line that there was a vegan menu but had to ask for it. I ate from it (You can mix menus across courses) and the food was mega delicious. If your on a budget there is a menu Qu (limited times and days) whuch is good value but build in a 10% service charge. Really good restaurant if you are after delicious tasty foods. Portions are not massive though so for those who want a big feed up consider some side dishes.

Having visited this establishment on numerous occasions over the last 15/16 years we have yet to be disappointed by the quality of food and level of service provided.A visit last week was so good we returned the next again evening for a very similar meal which again was of a very high standard a level very few restaurants in Harrogate can replicate.This restaurant is a credit to Mark owner/manager who has been involved since first established.Please keep up the good work.

Quite a few years since we last visited Quantro's. Won't wait so long again. To get to the point, the food was great. Looked good, tasted good, and by golly it did us good. Might have to be of a certain age to appreciate those words.

Drawn in by the very good set menus our noses were hit by the gorgeous smells of fresh ingredients. The food was simply delicious and portions very good. There is good wine available by the glass as well. Service impeccable. Would go back again and again and again.

I last reviewed Quantro in 2016 and we returned to Harrogate again recently. This is pretty much the best restaurant in the country as far as I'm concerned. The quality of the food is incredible, the presentation is beautiful, the service is perfect. Excellent menu, you just can't go wrong whatever you choose. The best part? You don't have to pay ridiculous prices to get this level of quality. Thank you, Quantro!

My wife and I first visited this restaurant last autumn and were very impressed with the choice and quality of the food. Having decided to spend a couple of days in this part of the country we felt we just had to visit the Quantro again. We were not disappointed, both the food and the service were excellent. What a fantastic find in harrogate! Called in for lunch today to take advantage of their lunch special (2course £9.95, 3 £12.95) and we will definitely be back. Nice view to the stray and the food was not just excellent value it was delicious. Highly recommended

My husband and I went for a casual lunch and were both very impressed. The set menu is great value. The steaks so tasty and for any Italian red wine lovers the Masi “baby amarone” is a must.

I went to Quantro restaurant with friends on a Groupon deal. The food and the service were excellent. A very nice atmosphere and the staff were very helpful. If you’re in Harrogate it’s well worth a visit.

We used a groupon voucher for this deal and were really happy with the food. Quick service even though it was full. We had 3 courses for £30 and could not fault it. food was lovely and lots of it. Recommend meatballs as a starter. Staff were lovely and friendly.

Having not been before we were wondering what the food would be like. The greeting on arrival was friendly. We were first in the restaurant but it soon started to fill up. We chose salmon on crushed potato and meatballs with pasta starters both very tasty. Mains we both chose ribeye steak with a £2 each supplement. It came with skinny fries and we ordered sides of veg. Perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested. It came with a lovely tarragon sauce. Because we enjoyed the meal so far we decided to try starters the trio of creme desserts were delicious especially the creme caramel it should be on the dessert menu in its own right. Unfortunately the ginger and rhubarb cheesecake was a disappointment and never found the rhubarb. Would definitely recommend and look forward to visiting again. Thank you for a pleasant experience. Only small step inside but then another door to left into restaurant.

It must be five years, or so since we dined here last, and for once our ageing memories were right. Super welcome, the best service we have encountered for some time, and an interesting and well executed menu. It is heartening to see standards maintained in the fairly frenetic Harrogate restaurant milieu.

I felt like this was going to be a most promising experience but for me it didn’t quite deliver. I can’t knock the service or the atmosphere - both were great however I don’t think the food is quite there yet.

Dined here on Saturday evening, only having booked in the afternoon and getting a table for 8.30pm. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. A previous reviewer had complained about portion sizes but we found the portions very generous. I had the venison steak, which was very good, followed by a delicious sticky toffee pudding. Also enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with our meal, all very good.

We found this little gem online and booked very last minute but we were definitely not disappointed...... the food was extremely well priced and really impressive. Brilliant value for money. Service also very good. Certainly worth a visit for dinner.

Visited on Saturday evening whilst we were staying in Harrogate. We chose off the Q menu which offers a choice of three starters, three mains and three deserts for a fixed price. The food and the service was really good. We were dissapointed when we were offered bread and olives before our starter, which we assumed was a complimentary appetizer, when the bill came we realised we have been charged £6.50 for the bread and olives, which we felt was very over priced! Apart from this we were happy with our meal.

We booked on the day for a Saturday night dinner for 4 and were lucky enough to get a table for 8.30. Having high hopes after seeing the great reviews, we were not disappointed. Water with lemon was brought as we looked at the menu, and there was plenty of choice for the two of us who don’t eat meat. The staff were a little formal, but I felt that they were trying to be professional and could maybe relax a little! My starter of onion soup with dumplings was absolutely delicious, with extra bread arriving without asking, and the others really enjoyed the sharing platter which was a tasty baked Camembert with crusty bread, onion marmalade and some garlic mushrooms. For main, our friends had the ribeye steak with a jug of delicious sauce, and fries, and we tried the seared salmon with potato salad which had fantastic dressing and aoili. It was a generous portion and we didn’t need the sides of mange tout and onion rings, but they were excellent too. Water was discreetly topped up and we had a lovely bottle of Malbec too. We were too full for dessert but again everything sounded great, so we shared a very good ginger cheesecake and hot drinks. It was good value for a really different and memorable meal, and we’ll definitely be going back.

Went to the restaurant after seeing wonderful reviews online and we were severely disappointed pointed. Mediocre food for inordinate prices. Cold atmosphere with rude staff, not the genuine local friendly restaurant I was expecting. I had the fish and chips which was boring and very pricey for a very small portion. My friend had the lasagna which turned out to be 3 half sheets of lasagna covered in a bitter sauce with the occasional aubergine tossed on.

Is it any surprise this restaurant has been in Harrogate for so many years? Despite the fluidity of the restaurant trade Quantro continues to provide excellent, high quality meals in clean and comfortable surroundings. The staff are a pleasure to deal with. We had lunch here this month, the proto-Christmas fare which arrived hot, well-presented and above all full of flavour. We hadn’t been in a little while and were pleased to see the standards maintained across the board. A must for an excellent well-priced and cooked lunch.

We visited on a wet December Monday evening and were warmed by the superb food, excellent friendly service and vibrant atmosphere. The menu variety was impressive with all starters also offered in larger portions as main courses. We all enjoyed our food and rated this one of the best dining experiences to date in Harrogate. We WILL be back . . . !

This was a pre-Christmas lunch for former colleagues to meet and chat. The restaurant was bright and airy (though the mirror wall a trifle disconcerting!) and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and attentive, though not overly so. The drinks, starters and main courses arrived in a timely way and, with a variety of dishes chosen by colleagues, universally declared to be excellent. Can highly recommend.

This restaurant doesn't look exciting from the outside. It was pouring with rain and everywhere in the surrounding area was busy. This place was empty when we walked up to the window but we decided to give it a go.
