Riverside Cafe in Harrogate

May have been cold outside but the blankets for sitting out with help stay closer to the river for longer in the year. Had the pork and apple sauce roll, must have been half a pig in there - three very thick (and I mean thick) slices, deffo the main event with apple sauce and stuffing the accompaniment they should be.

Lovely cooked breakfast. Great service. And....dog friendly. So perfect for us.

If you’re not white prepared to be not served well at all. Other people were given tables and we were ignored because of what we wore and who we are. Food tasted rubbish as well.

Beautiful little place to eat outside. One of the young male waiters was really lovely, and the young blonde female was really nice. We chatted about long voice messages, and there is no need (if she reads this, she will know 😀). The food was nice. Only one downside for me is that I am on a diet, and it would have been nice to order a salad or poached egg on toast. But other than that, again, very nice.

Terrible atmosphere and unprofessionalism. they made females who are just different in religion feel as if we didn’t matter. In this day and age treating your customers differently just for wearing a hijaab/scarf around their head, is very low. Do better. I don’t recommend anyone,who have good morals- to spend money on such businesses.

We visited this establishment yesterday for breakfast. The food was just brilliant & the staff were very friendly & professional. You must walk past all the other restaurants along the river & pay a visit, you will move disappointed.

Nice little place by the river for a spot of lunch while visiting Knaresborough for the day. We kept it simple with Tuna Melt Toasties and a Cheese and Chorizo Toastie but very enjoyable never the less. Finished off with a Biscoff Cheesecake (delightful!) and a Latte. The lads serving were also really friendly and polite, can’t go wrong for the prices either.

Very slow service and rude staff, took over 10 minutes for 3 cans and a latte to come out. On a quiet day. Then they hadnt taken for 1 drink and asked me to go up and pay which i had to wait in the que again. Then the managwr who was rude came out .

The sausage bab was delicious but the hot chocolate needed more chocolate in it. It tasted like hot coloured milk

Brilliant place to stop and enjoy a bite to eat when walking by the river. Dog friendly. Staff are courteous and friendly. Highly recommend the sausage sandwich.

What a lovely place to sit and enjoy good coffee and a nice bacon bap " Buttie" on a wonderful spring morning in Knaresborough. Ex pats - visiting from Australia we were impressed with the Yorkshire hospitality and the love of dogs frequenting the gorgeous space with kitchen splash back in rock.

Visited here yesterday and what a gem of a find in a stunning location. Had a mighty fine pot of YORKSHIRE tea and a huge frothy cappuccino accompanied by what I must say was the mist amazing scone ever......still warm and baking even more. Incredibly clean and a fantastic choice of music 🎵

We happened across this cafe on a visit to Knaresborough and came back to it for lunch as there was a whole board of gluten free options. Our lunch order was served with a smile and delicious sandwich and cake, all gluten free. Yummy. Definitely recommend

Out for a stroll along the river Nidd we noticed that this cafe catered for gluten free. As 3 of our party follow a gluten free diet we decided to stop for lunch and were delighted to see that they offered a wide selection of options that were gluten free both in sandwiches and in cakes. Lovely to have real choices. Food was served very quickly by polite friendly staff and its in a lovely location by the river.

Called here for a breakfast and a latte and was very glad I chose this place. Beautiful full English breakfast served by lovely friendly staff. Nice touch of blankets in the outdoor seating area for when it's not quite as warm as you'd imagined. I'll definitely call again.

Beautiful little cafe at the base of Knaresborough Castle sat on the front of the river Nidd. Beautiful location to have a quiet meal and a drink. Worth the visit

Great little busy place lovely staff too

Ok. Nothing special. Kids menu limited. Owner/boss lady not very helpful. Couldn't manage to do a small sandwich for a child. Said if we sell you half a sandwich then we can't sell the other half! Well just make it with one slice of bread then! 🤷🏽‍♂️

Stopped here on way to York for a quick bite. Food was tremendous and the service top quality. Will definitely be back. Views along the river are beautiful.

New Year's Day walk in Knaresborough and stumbled across the Cafe and only sat down outside due to a vacant table. All 4 of us had the Roast Pork and apple sandwich,which, not tge cheapest but very large and very tasty and would definitely have again. Both the young male and female waiting on staff were very polite and pleasant. Would definitely use again if in tge area.

Outstanding! We visited this lovely cafe whilst at the Christmas Markets, they were quick to accomodate our family (all 9 of us) by moving some tables around. The staff were extremely friendly but professional, very polite and couldnt do enough for us. The food was brilliant and the view of the river was an added bonus. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, we will be back.

Stopped off here today and ordered a baked potato which took a very long time to arrive and when it did, it hardly had any cheese on it and we wouldn't have known if there was any butter on it or not. Dry and lacked flavour. Disappointing for an extortionate price of £7.95. Will not be going again and cannot recommend.

Came here after a walk. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Seemed to have a good selection of food and the chip buttys we had were great. Lovely surroundings too to be sat by the river.

We came here for lunch with our 2 dogs and sat outside with views of the river and viaduct. We both had the roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce baps which came with fries and a salad garnish. The food was presented nicely and tasted delicious, we really enjoyed it. The staff were all very nice too.

Absolutely fab river side cafe to stop at for any meal of the day! We stopped for lunch and were instantly met and seated at an outside table by a very polite and friendly employee. The menu has a great selection of options, including breakfasts served all day. Ordering was very easy, prices were very well priced and the food arrived within 15mins. The food itself was really, really nice! I would thoroughly recommend this as a great spot for food/drink along the river in Knaresborough!

We sat outside for a coffee while we waiting for the other half of our group to arrive. Beautiful scenery and dog friendly inside and out. We had a mixture of drinks, coffees/water/tea/ fizzy drinks. Great value, great service Very clean and staff were so lovely!

We chose this cafe rather than the one next to the river because it had far more choice on food. We were not disappointed, friendly staff and quick service. I am not one for leaving reviews but felt this quaint little place was amazing. I had the roast pork bap with apple sauce and homemade stuffing. This was the best roast pork bap I have ever had! The pork was tasty and clearly good quality, they did not scrimp on anything and the roll was soft and fresh. Very impressed and would highly recommend this for anyone visiting Knaresborough

What a fantastic little cafe. Al fresco seating, and if you prefer inside seating. We had the tea for two, beacon roll, cheese 🧀 and ham toastie with a portion of fries on the side very tasty. Staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and polite. Good quick service in beautiful surroundings.

First visit to riverside cafe today, food was lovely and had lots of options, staff were very friendly and assertive and the cafe was very clean and had lovely views of the river. Very reasonable priced! They were also dog friendly and sold doggy icecream which was fantastic as a dog owner! Very happy and will definitely be back!

Lovely for light lunches. Located just off the river so you can still see the lovely view if sat outside but not too busy like the other cafe located closer to the river. Price was expected and the roasties were lovely.

Really good food and efficient service in ideal settings! Staff were really friendly and accommodating. The gentleman working at the front was doing a really good job of getting customers seated. We had jacket potato ,cheese and beans which was £9+ which is a bit expensive but good location and friendly atmosphere so don’t mind it. Not a complaint, just an observation:)

We called in because they advertise a GF menu. I ordered a sandwich, the bread was a little stale. The wife and kids really enjoyed their lunch. Great spot too. Service impeccable.

Had lunch here to day (8/1/23) and was very impressed. Staff were very friendly and the service was great / quick. The food was really good; we went for the Chilli (home cooked) with chips and a panini. All very nice and a large pot of tea for two cost £20, which seemed excellent value, especially given the portion sizes. Can definitely recommend 👍🏼

Coffee and food are good/reasonable, but sadly lacking in the service side. Coffees were delivered to the table in around 5 minutes, lunch though I waited 30 minutes and then had to go check at the counter, told 3-5 minutes, zero apologies and and none when the waitress got it to the table. A very poor first impression..

Great little cafe. Really friendly and efficient despite it being a busy Saturday lunchtime. Food was first-rate and decent value for money.

Been here had the experience I could not recommend this cafe to buy ice cream from as the portions are quite small in the tubs and very little value for money and it's overrated. Customer service is okay as with everything could improve over time. As long as they are busy the feeling I got and I felt the value for money goes out of the window with customer service. Please go and try and see for yourself for me its not worth a second visit.

Called here with my mum couple of weeks ago,The indoor part of the cafe isn't wheelchair user friendly as there's a step.we had to sit outside in the cold.we only had one hot drink,one can of pop and a sausage and egg bap each and it cost over £16 which is a bit pricey! A sausage bap is £4.95 but then they have a cheek to charge you a pound extra to put an egg in it. Wouldn't visit again

Great location right next to the river. Very friendly staff & good selection on menu. Food was lovely. This cafe has no toilet but there is a public toilet right next door.

I had my 90 odd year old parents with me for a day out in Knaresborough. Stopped at this cafe at 11.30 am to find all tables with a note on saying you couldn't sit there unless you ate off the menu. We only wanted...

We walked along the river from our caravan park, 25 mins they said to Knaresborough, well the walk was incredible so beautiful people are so fortunate to live along the lane with such views it took around 45 mins, and with the Riverside cafe very near the end of the lane it was truly welcome, a lovely cuppa ahhhh...snacks available kids watered and fed we continued our journey, definitely worth a look and sample the food, relaxing watch folk walking by.....

Great cafe by the river in lovely underrated Knaresborough. Been here a couple of times now. Perfect little find for a stop-off on our holiday trips from South to North along the M1! Tasty food, good choice and portion size. Staff all very accommodating and friendly.

Delicious vegetarian breakfast ! Oat and soya alternatives available . Reasonably priced especially given the great location !! And possibly the most polite waiter I’ve met !! Would highly recommend 😊

Very nice Aberdeen Angus burger, topped with bacon, and a cheese to which I have forgotten. But it was all decent for the money. Would drop in again, welcomed the shade from the crazy weather.

Me and my husband enjoyed a morning in knaresborough, we went to the river side cafe for breakfast so we could enjoy the views and we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly, the views were amazing and the food was delicious. Would recommend 100%

I was about 12 when I last came here (32 years ago) I remember cycling from Harrogate one Sunday morning. Despite living in Knaresborough I've not been since, until today. I went for one of the specials which was a hot pork, apple and stuffing...

We visited today 8th July. Service was efficient despite it being quite busy at lunchtime. Partner had the cheeseburger and chips. Cheese was plentiful and he said it was one of the nicest burgers hes had.Chips were hot and crispy. I had a bacon roll...
