Poco Sicilian Street Food in Leeds

I had a great meal at Poco! The calzone, arancini, and panzeroto were all fresh and tasty. Plenty of veggie options too. Big thanks to Vidid for the awesome service—super friendly and welcoming! Will definitely be back.

I beg you please take out “Sicilian”, nothing Sicilian about this place, the disappointment as a Sicilian , the arancini were lukewarm AND pink, since when an arancino/a is pink, I accept no excuse. We bought 3 cornetti nutella, they were stale as hell, probably been on the display for days on end, ended up in the bin. Surprisingly the ricotta cannoli were good, at least something was done right!! Let’s not talk about the prices, way overpriced for what they offer, if the food was pleasant I would’ve been happy to pay without complaining. The pizzas didn’t look appealing so good thing I didn’t waste any money before hand.

Cogimos unos cannoli y una rosquilla, los cannolis eran fantásticos. Tan fresco y lleno. Las rosquillas aunque sabían muy rancio y seco y un poco como que se habían descongelado todo el día. Vale la pena intentarlo, pero parece haber suerte en la olla sobre si obtendrá una buena

No Sicilians in view when visited. Lots of treats on display. No customers apparent lunchtime. Young person behind counter looked surprised to see me. Very expensive street food.🙄

Hate to write this review but this place has seriously gone downhill. Had a couple of arincini balls today and they tasted so bland. The calzone I had was tiny with such a small amount of filling. The food also hadn't been heated up properly at all. Spent £12 to be left unsatisfied. Won't be going back.

Visitamos Poco Leeds Central para nuestro arreglo de croissants rellenos de pistacho. No son baratos a £ 3. 90 cada uno y lamentablemente la calidad puede ser muy variable. En un buen día, estas pequeñas bellezas son golosinas indulgentes bien llenas que bien valen la pena el dinero en efectivo. Otras veces no tienen prácticamente relleno y no son mejores que una oferta barata de supermercado. Lamentablemente hoy nos quedamos muy decepcionados con lo que resultó ser cruasanes finos y pálidos prácticamente sin relleno. Definitivamente no relación calidad-precio. Vamos Poco, arregla tu control de calidad.

Buenas pizzas y el café es bueno (por alguna razón es imposible en Inglaterra conseguir café que sabe como café apropiado - y esto lo hace). Frecuento el de Headingly. Personal amable y encantador. Consigue una tarjeta de fidelidad y una bolsa. Es genial.

I used to come here all the time, it was a 5 star review without question. Since they've opened the store in centre of town, the Kirkstall store has gone downhill massively. The food and service is not what it was. Writing this review for visibility, in a hope that it can become what it once was!

The food hear is usually fantastic but this time round it was really poor, me and my partner had the spinach arancini, mushroom arancini and two slices of pizza. It wasn’t warmed up properly and it was really bland and didn’t taste great at all - Not usually like this but I’m not sure if they have franchised since expanding?

Most excellent food. Prices ain't bad either.

£7 for two stale non lemony limoncello doughnuts is poor.

So we went in today to get some Pizza and something sweet from our favourite store….sadly it has gone massively down hill, the pizza tasted really old and not as soft as we remember! Then to top it off we took the sweet treats home and went to go eat the Tiramisu Croissant to see MOULD inside! Will not be going back……………..

Food was microwaved and still came cold , wish I went to Nandos. Lasagna £9!

A good selection of Italian food but unfortunately not very well seasoned. The cafe is cute but not enough room to comfortably sit and very stuffy

Pls don't eat the veggie calzone, we got it warmed up and it was terrible. The people are nice but the food is not. Please don't think this is authentic sicilian food cos is not.

Very disappointed we visited for a Friday evening treat, got a limoncello doughnut & ricotta cornetto (£7) both end up in the bin very dry and stale have visited a few time but the sparkle has gone.

Great pizza and tasty sweet things. We went back for two double espressos and they were great too! Nice, friendly staff.

Ordered a vegetarian calzone and got one with sausage in! Unfortunately, we'd walked home so couldn't do anything about it. Thankfully i'm mot vegetarian. My daughters pizza was overcooked too. The chocolate croissant was lovely though. Service was prompt, but tyere was uncertainty over unlabelled items (and they obviously got it very wrong). It's a shame because my daughter had been wanting to come for ages, so we made a special trip before she leaves 3rd year of uni.

I love culto, it's mother restaurant, but Poco has seriously fallen by the way side. The once famed arancini is now soggy and uninspired. The coffee has none of the punch and is now frankly thrashed by culture a short walk down the street. The food at the counter looks tired, old and soggy...a real shame since there was real excitement when this place opened. I even noticed there were ants crawling on some of the pastries and I told the serving staff and they said thank you for mentioning it. Did they remove them....no. In short, what a fall from grace. The place is really a shadow of what is possible and the food is a strong red flag. Pricey too.

Food tasted like it had been sat there for more than a day. Normally, it tastes fresh and it definitely should have when I bought it before lunchtime. Chewy and stale arancini- had to throw 1 and half away. Staff are great and the coffee was good - but the food has gone down hill.

Bought a filled croissant from Leeds shop, Lands Lane. Looked delicious. At £4 expectations were high, very disappointing, dry and lacking flavour, clearly it wasn't fresh. Wouldn't visit again

The original Poco appears to be neglected compared to the shops in Headingley and town. Limited menu options and lukewarm food when requested to be heated.

Nice and friendly staff but pretty average food.

£4 for a simple slice seems a little steep to me Quite a standard slide to be honest I wouldn't say the bread or the toppings stand out in quality to justify the price

Went to the Kirkstall store on Good Friday after seeing the many advertisements of the Easter Eggs to pick up those and some lunch. It was well after lunchtime and they were sold out of the Easter Eggs (unsurprising but frustrating) but they were pretty thin on everything else too. No ‘basics’ such as margherita pizza (only a courgette one and a vegan one remained) and relatively little sweet stuff - nothing that the kids would have Left sorely disappointed and ended up visiting another nearby bakery to get us all lunch Unfortunately it seems all the hype didn’t live up to expectations and the shop didn’t gear up for the influx that came from the marketing

Poco used to be a favourite. Popped in today for some lunch but the selection had gone really downhill. No chicken, no potatoes, only one type of pizza, just some sad looking lasagne and aubergine parmigiana. The arancini have really shrunk in size. Given the savoury food looked poor we gave it a miss. There were lots of cakes, which is unusual for the time we went in, but we ordered two anyway. Now Poco has never been cheap but seven quid for a doughnut and a croissant is pricey. Now I don't mind paying for quality but both cakes were rock hard and stale, so much so it had to be cut with a knife. The doughnut was also heavy and greasy. The coffee machine was off, the frozen coffee machine has disappeared too so we didn't get a drink. I should have know by how empty the place was. I've stood outside in the past having to wait to go in as it used to be so popular. I think the owner's attentions must be elsewhere. Or perhaps success made them complacent. Anyway I won't be back to find out, my hard earned cash is too precious to chuck away.

It was ok. It's way too small to actual sit there and eat. Super busy despite this at lunchtime with collections and coffee drinking customers taking up the tiny space there is to order and eat. It's a good concept but really could do with more area to actually eat and enjoy the food otherwise especially in the colder months it puts a real dampener on the food which is tasty but quite greasy. Love the calzone dough, not so impressed by the fillings. Concept for arancini is great but actual finished product is greasy, yellow (unlike most risotto) & awkward to eat due to it's size. Basically - I don't get the hype.

The food is DELICIOUS!! I had a veggie arancini and 2 of the incredible looking doughnuts. All were a very naughty joy to consume! Looking forward to my next visit.

Very similar to other comments. Always looked forward to popping in for food. Always top rated, however after recent visits have left family friends and myself bitterly disappointed. Not the tasty sicilian food we're used to - & strange ingredients within food I mean who puts coconut ìn cannoli or top them with sprinkles as one example . Unfortunately i have plemty more?!¿!?! Lets not get started with customer service. What happened Pocos'!!!

I was excited to try this place because it had such great reviews, but sadly I was very disappointed… The food was not fresh. It was reheated when I arrived but it looked like it had been in that display for hours, so even reheated it was soggy and pretty unimpressive. It wasn’t expensive but the quality didn’t match the price.

Don't make the mistake that I did and assumed there was some seating area as there is not. I love coming for the cannolis (although they are a bit pricey for the size you get) and this time I got the chocolate filled croissant which was nice. Overall a 7/10

We came here for the arancini. It was probably some of the most delicious street food I’ve ever had. They were perfectly fried. The shop has a huge variety of dishes and dessert and we would love to come back for more.

We popped in for some pasta and pizza. AMAZING! The service was quick and friendly and the food was fantastic.

The lasagne and creamy vegan pasta were delicious. It's a small place, so it's best to take out.

Pistachio croissant blew my mind! Great coffee, friendly staff. Only a small bar to sit at so best for take-away, although perfect if you want to quickly scran your food!

Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing. The iced pistachio latte is one of my favourite coffee drinks on this planet and the pistachio gelato in the brioche bun - is out of this world 🌍😍 can't recommend enough and I'll be getting that exact order this weekend because I can't stop thinking about it.

Always walked/drove past wanting to try here after moving a stones throw away we decided to take the plunge and from service from a polite lovely women to the excellent food they had on offer we will definitely be returning here in the near future

Went there and the magener ( I believe) was fighting/ arguing with a man in the kitchen in Italian ( I think) and could hear pans& plates falling from the kitchen where they were arguing. Apparently it's normal hearing them arguing even when customers are around because one of the staff said that they're used to hear them shouting. I just wanted to enjoy the food and had to leave.

First try and have to say it was very nice. Arancici, 1 veg and 1 meat. Followed by canoli...buono

Picked up a bite to eat from here as was driving through; so many options for dietary requirements, was very impressed. Both ladies serving were lovely, food was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be making an effort to go back.

The food was amazing and will definitely be going back. The arancini and cannoli's were just so tasty. The person who served us was very friendly and helpful, they marked heating instructions on all the items. There is a car park at the back of the shop which is a little sketchy, but it's fine for going to the shop. There are only a couple of seats at a ledge type table, it's more of a takeaway deli than a cafe. I highly recommend it here if you love Italian food.

Travelled all the way from Wolverhampton as we had seen this place on Rate My Takeaway and it did not disappoint! The food was amazing. No pictures of the food as it didn't last that long! Very tasty.

Do not waste your hard earned money. The pizza was tasteless, dry just really disappointing. Hard broccoli on the veggie slice my husband got with very little cheese. I went for the spinach which was dried up going brown. The children got margaritas at £4.50 a slice absolutely no taste. It looked nice from outside. Even the server didn’t have the energy to speak to us.

Absolutely fantastic, traditional Italian cafe. Amazing pizza slices, one of the best slices of lasagna I've ever had and some truly fantastic desserts. If you want a quick and easy takeaway and like Italian food you absolutely have to go here! Proper Italian street food at amazing prices.

Just bought 3 bomboloni....one was very stale unfortunately. They were bought as a gift ....now rather spoilt. If possible we will return with it. No telephone number to ring.

So glad I found this place, after 6 months living in Sicily I have been craving sicilian cooking and sweets. Stopped by to get two of the best cannoli's I've ever eaten, can't wait to come back and have an aranchini. Top place and very very friendly staff, just what you expect from the lovely Sicilian people! I'll definitely be back

Called in for 2 doughnuts on Friday afternoon. Absolutely awful, tastes funny and the dough was stale. £8 not well spent, such a shame!

What an amazing place to get a hot or cold slice of pizza from. I only have been twice but the staff and the food are fantastic, definitely coming here for lunch breaks again.

The food is so, so good from here! Had the meat aranchini and man we were both in heaven eating them!

You could try the deep fried bread with a slice of meat in it, or their triple bread pizza with extra bread and if you're still hungry you could have stuffed bread with Nutella & Cream. The calzone aftertaste is something I can't shrug off.

Wanted to try this place for ages, came to pick up some pieces to share for lunch and everything was so, so tasty! Would definitely come back to try more items from the menu.

The best lasagna I’ve ever had. Highly recommend Poco for a quick lunch break or treating yourself in a day off.

Cute selection of traditional Italian savouries and snacks on outside display, and dessert options inside. Prices reasonable. Delicious authentic Italian hot chocolate which I've never had before. Long narrow table for dining in, can take about 3 people max. Seen another Poco on Maps in Headingley too, might check it out.

Love, love, love Poco. We regularly stop here for lunch. You can take away hot food, or take away cold food to heat at home, or eat in at the small bar. Fantastic pizza bases, deep, fluffy and ridiculously light. I noted they also do the frozen Italian coffee which means I'll have to revisit soon!

Was really looking forward to tasting the food ,spend quite a bit on a selection of items and all were awful.tasteleas greasy and the calzone was vile ,never again

Stunning food and highly recommended. Great selection of bits and lots of veggie options too. Coffee is excellent too and they do a coffee Ice Cream which is just sensational! (I can't remember what it's called)

Good variety of food that does look amazing, but the cheese & pepperoni calzone was not to my liking. the outside felt like it was soft fish shop batter and tasted greasy, laid heavy on my stomach and was lacking pepperoni, must have had maybe 2/3 small pieces in if I was lucky. I also had a cinnamon bun and was a bit disappointed in this too tbh, the chocolate bit in the middle was minute and hard and the cream was all to one side inside the bun… the staff didn’t really seem welcoming either when I walked in…overall wasn’t impressed so sadly won’t be recommending or going again.

We had a couple of vegan pizza slices during the pop up at Northern monk this weekend. Delicious!

Friendly staff,authentic Italian , however I was disappointed with the pizza as the base was too thick and hard to chew, and I expected better flavoured arancini…. Will try again in future hopefully will be better…
