Veeno Leeds in Leeds

We made a booking for 7 and ordered food at about 7:45 and food did not start to arrive until 9.10. During this time there was no communication from staff to explain the reason for the delay. The wait staff did not check in once to see if more drinks were needed. The place was not very busy, with lots of empty tables. They advised that it was because a large table ordered beforehand but expectations should have been set before we ordered.

Good restaurant and have been going here a few times a year for the last few years. For my birthday my friend bought me a gift card for the restaurant but cannot be used on Saturdays - there is no discount for buying a gift card so is essentially like for like cash, however as a gift card works, commits me solely to Veeno rather than hundreds of other restaurants I can choose to pay cash with. Being a full time worker I often find Fridays too tiring for going out so much prefer Saturdays for meals out something I cannot do with this voucher. Loved this restaurant in the past but issues like this make me think I will choose others places to eat in future.

Had a fantastic wine tasting today accompanied by a delicious charcuterie board. Constance was our server who had a fantastic knowledge of the wines and accompanying food. Very enjoyable afternoon. Would highly recommend.

Popped in spontaneously to meet a friend and we decided to do a wine tasting. Coming from a hospitality background the fact that they were able to accommodate this at a moments notice was beyond impressive. Most venues I’ve worked for require atleast 24hours notice We were very well looked after by Nico. He was incredibly accommodating and the tasting was very informative but also very natural. You could tell he took pride in their offerings and was very passionate about what they produced. Having lived in Italy during my childhood and also having a strong interest in wines it was a superb tasting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The wines were superb. I enjoyed all of them Thank you so much!

La selección de tapas fue maravillosa. Ingredientes frescos de calidad y muy bien presentados. También aceptan plenamente su posición en el sector de la hospitalidad - no se podría obtener un mejor servicio.

Nuestro evento estuvo muy bien organizado desde el principio. La comunicación fue genial, y los organizadores del evento fueron muy serviciales y rápidos. La fiesta fue muy bien en la noche, la comida era perfecta y tuvimos un montón de grandes comentarios de los asistentes. El personal era muy amable y servicial y el ambiente en general era exactamente lo que habíamos querido. Tuvimos una presentación como sorpresa, que puede ser un poco desalentador en la noche! Todo salió muy bien, sin problemas con el equipo y suficiente espacio para que todos puedan ver y participar. Muy recomendable y volveremos a considerar para futuros eventos.

I tried out Veeno with my husband for the first time last weekend. We didn't have a reservation, however the staff were very accommodating. The atmosphere was chilled, and the wine was so good. I highly recommend the olive pate. Our waitress Darcy was so attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back.

Went to Veeno for the Sicilian wine tasting experience and had the best time! Had Nico, Ben and Emma looking after us and they really elevated our experience with their knowledge and friendliness.

Thank you for hosting our wedding party after getting married in New York. We were blown away by how the venue looked and the support of you and your team on the lead up to the night. The food we choose were a pizza selection and meat and cheese boards which were incredible. They went down a treat with everyone. Everyone commented on how good the food was and service. Nico and the team provided the best service throughout the night making sure everything was running smoothly and everyone was catered for. Thanks again, you’re the best! I went to Veeno in Leeds for a wine tasting complimentary session for 2 people. We had a fantastic time, and Darcy was our server, she was lovely and a delight to speak to. Thank you so much for a wonderful day!

We had to cancel our baby sitter with short notice and bring her to afternoon tea. The host was fantastic and engaging with our duaghter. I would go as far as to say the host would have made this experience 10 out of 10 regardless. By the time we was leaving my duaghter was high fiving the host The food was fantastic and atmosphere was lovely. We ordered an individual pizza for our duaghter. Really reasonably priced with quality ingredients. Would highly recommend and will 100% revisit

Today we did the trip to Sicily wine tasting as a late birthday treat. Ben and nico were extremely warm and knowledgeable, leading to an absolutely brilliant lunchtime experience for us both. Some absolutely fantastic wines to taste alongside beautifully presented and tasty food. Thank you!

Grazie mille Andreea! One of the best service and hospitality attitude. Me and my friend just jumped in the first restaurant to have a simple lunch, but instead we laughed so much, with good jokes and amazing atmosphere, we easily passed into a dinner)))) The rose home wine was very light and tasty. We had lasagna and Parmigiana, which were also very good. We also recommend ice cream and of course limoncello, thank you for unfortunately experience in Leeds!

Love Veenos for an after work drink, as standard tonight had a great experience. Constance (I think?!) was brilliant and was ever present, at the table serving, behind the bar pouring and then back again collecting glasses! Does she have a twin?! Great time. Definitely recommend. Awesome Tuesday evening with a relaxed vibe, great wine and great pizza, and a great Constance.

I think I'll let my photos do the talking for this review. We come in here a few weeks ago and totally loved this. We had one of the shared boards (see the pics) and it was amazing! The staff and the service were fantastic and the atmosphere was nice, but quiet as we went early. I definitely recommend it.

Our main concern was the poor service. There was only 1 other table occupied who already had their food, we gave our order, ordered 2 cocktails and a bottle of wine, the kids ordered drinks separate to their children’s menu. The waitress barely spoke, and didn’t smile. Our cocktails arrived and our starters, we finished those, and it took longer than it should, for her to come back to take our empty plate and glasses. Eventually she came with our main courses, the adults food came before the kids. I am a firm believer that when children are eating their meal should come before ours, even if just by a couple of minutes. We then asked if we could have the wine we ordered, she replied “oh you want it now?” Well why wouldn’t we want the wine we ordered? We shouldn’t have needed to ask for it, it should have been offered when our cocktails were taken away. We had finished our cocktails 20 minutes earlier. We also had to ask for the drinks that came with the kids meals. The bill then came with automatic service charge!

Booked a table for 8, three weeks in advance. Turn up on time, waited 15 minutes and had to ask if we could order. Could only order drinks as chef hadn’t told wait staff what wasn’t available (they’d only just opened). Finally ordered food after 30 minutes of being there, 3x ragu pasta and 5x panini. Another couple of people came in, ordered and were severed their food before us. 55 minutes after arriving and upon asking we were told it’d be no more than 5 minutes. One person had to leave to go back to the office and took their food in a box. 8 minutes later food started arriving. Not mine though. Had to be asked what I ordered (ragu). I gave them 5 more minutes before telling them o take my food and drink off the bill and leaving back for the office. Apparently the ragu was good but I will never know because I won’t be going back. The paninis, accompanied by fries, looked disappointing when I was there. Confirmed this when everyone got back to the office. Several were missing cheese and the fries were somehow under and they over cooked at the same time. The (ridiculous) service charge was removed from the bill I’m told. Should have been a great discount if you ask me. You can’t operate a restaurant in an area surrounded offices and provide such shoddy service in such a slow fashion.

I just want to say a massive thanks to Nico and the Veeno team for hosting my 30th birthday (private hire). I couldn’t recommend this venue more if I could try, it is on the quieter side of town also, so no random people trying to walk in, so I didn’t have to worry about that. There was also benches outside for my guests and had plenty of compliments about the food and the espresso martinis especially. I would communicate with head office and they would update their system which would filter through to the restaurant, therefore the pre order of food was very easy and they also made me a draft food order for the amount of guests that were coming. Honestly 10/10 thanks again.

The best place for any event - we have held multiple events at Veeno and each one has been exceptional! The team are delightful and always ready to help! Myself and my colleagues always have an amazing time and we are excited to get another booked in!

Delicious food, amazing selection of drinks. The best part of our experience was Lucia, she’s kind, personable and funny! She has immaculate knowledge of the food and drinks and she keeps us coming back for more.

Attended a civil partnership reception at the venue. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Great environment and atmosphere. Only negative was the way the food items appeared...too 'bitty' . Guests didn't know what to expect and when. This may be the result of them not usually catering for such events. It wasn't clear which drinks were on a 'tab' payment.

My partner and I chose Veeno Leeds as our party venue to celebrate our civil partnership, which we booked for private hire with our 100 guests. We absolutely loved the relaxed atmosphere and appreciated Nico the Manager looking after us throughout the whole process. Thank you to all the team for looking after us! The food, the wine, the space for live music and the environment were superb! Pre-ordering our food and drink was straightforward and everybody made us feel very special. We would definitely recommend hiring Veeno Leeds for a party and can’t thank the team enough 🥂💯🪩

Ok, I’m Italian but I’ve been living in Leeds for 15 years or so. Tonight the staff at Veeno was absolutely amazing. The wine they suggested is probably the best I’ve had in decades and the food pairing was simply perfect. I came mainly for the location to enjoy the outdoor area in the midst of this heat wave, but I left knowing this is simply one of the top three Italian eateries in Leeds!

Had a great time tonight, Andrea helped us choose a great white wine and some great food boards too.

Had a voucher for the Italian wine tasting experience and it was disappointing!! The red wine was the best thing really and the lovely waitress. We waited far longer than expected for a small platter of two meats a bit of cubed parmigiana and some bread. I could make that at home from meat and cheeses bought from any supermarket.

Went for post-work drinks and food. Everything was great- got some wine recommended which was lovely (and very reasonable).

Took my wife here for her birthday and it was absolutely amazing! Food and the service was impeccable, Andrea made sure our needs were tended to and even though they didn’t need to, they came out with a small birthday cake for her which was an amazing touch. Would definitely come here again

No choice for ciders whatsoever, tap is watered down, more expensive than pubs around it. Just go to any pub around it.

We just did the Taste of Sicily experience & honestly had the best time! The food & wine were incredible but the experience was completely made by Nico. He was honestly incredible & taught us so much about the wines - I can’t compliment him enough ✨ PS they have the best tiramisu you will ever eat!

Myself and my Fiancé came for a Sicilian wine tasting experience and we would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good wine. Nico was a great host and explained the wines in detail, he made the experience even more special. We will be back for certain!

Visited for the first time around 2 years ago, and has always been my go to when I'm in Leeds ever since! My cousin loves it so much we went there just for thee desserts from another restaurant (the desserts are incredible, I'm patiently waiting for when the sicilian lemon cake comes back, it was the best dessert I'd ever eaten anywhere and 2 years on I still dream of it). The staff are lovely and charismatic, you can have a good chat and laugh with them - especially Andrea, he's an absolute sweetheart and made the experience absolutely lovely, it was such a wonderful environment. My only room for complaint is that I wish they had a Veeno in the city where I do university! Chow!

Fabulous afternoon doing the Taste of Sicily. Service from Nico and Constance was exceptional. Loved every minute and booking again. Description of wines was brilliant and food complimented each wine perfectly.

The wine tasting was amazing, and the service was perfect too. However, the carbonara pasta was horrible. I have never eaten such a bad dish in my entire life. Based on my experience, I would go there again, but only for the wine tasting and drinking not for the food.

Me and my boyfriend came here for the Sicilian wine tasting experience and it was amazing! Nico and his team were really lovely and Nico was great at explaining each wine and which food to pair with. The surprise wine at the end blew us both away and felt like we were in heaven! We would highly recommend this experience and we will definitely come again!

Food and staff were nice but our mains were a bit cold when they came out and service took a while. We were seated for around 40 mins before our first round of drinks came and we constantly had to keep asking about food/drinks even though the place wasn’t that busy. Overall we stayed 3 hours there but not by choice

We had the grande board deal with a bottle of wine, the place was a bit quiet for a Saturday night which worried us slightly when we first arrived but I'm so glad we persevered. The food was amazing the staff were fantastic ( Andrea was great) and the whole experience was second to none. Would recommend!

Received a gift voucher to this place for a 4 glass wine pairing with meats and cheese. Arrived to see our table wasn't ready despite it being quiet. Sat down and waited 10 mins before being told our food would be 15 mins because the meat is sliced "freshly" for us. 45 mins later a very basic charcuterie board and 4 red wines arrived. Asked for water 3 times before we got any. Poor customer service throughout including when I went pay at the end. Was ignored by 3 of the 4 staff present. Seats were not clean, old wine stains on the wall. Really poor service. If we hadn't had our gift voucher, the whole thing would have cost £80, including a 12.5% service charge they included, despite poor service. Avoid.

I never usually leave reviews but I feel like this warranted one. This is my second time visiting Veeno, I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt however both times I had a very similar experience. The restaurant is always near empty at lunchtime, however the food took 45 mins to an hour to come out both times! Both times I’ve had to rush my food to get back to work after lunch because it’s taken an age to come out and both times the waitress had to come over and apologise. Once it did come out, the food wasn’t that great either. The Carbonara lacked sauce and seasoning and just wasn’t tasty. The first time she knocked off our drinks for the inconvenience (not enough if I’m honest) but this time nothing even though the food took forever. The service is just unacceptable.

Awesome food and wine. Had the wine and nibbles for two. Big Anti pasti board, loads of bread, food and great wine. Very very friendly staff, fast service and chatty. Thank you very much! A++

We tried Veeno latest night for a more informal wine tasting experience ("wine flights" they are called). Absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish - the three tasting wines we got came with this poster explaining how each wine was made, why it tasted how it tasted etc., which our host elaborated on, answering a fair few questions - we all commented it was much more than we expected for what we paid. The staff and service was impeccable. Definitely will be going back for a formal wine tasting event in the future.

Reserved a space for after work drinks/food and could not have been treated. Enter by our hosts and server JiJi. She made sure that everyone’s glass was topped up. We knew what drinks were available. Helped me make a selection of food for the table. And generally kept us happy throughout the whole evening (we were there for 4 hours). Atmosphere was great. Would definitely recommend for a team get together! Thank you JiJi and team!

I am giving 3 stars as the beginning of our Sicily wine tasting experience was 1 star but by the end, the manager (Kieran) went above and beyond made the experience 5 star. However, it should not take someone complaining to ensure that the experience is enjoyable. Veeno - please make sure all staff are trained in wines - if they are part of the wine tasting experience then they need to know about wine! Also, the experience shouldn’t take 2 hours just because the service is slow. We sat there for ages without any wine! The concept is great but please make sure the experience is delivered better and more consistently - people are paying a lot of money.

Made a visit to Veeno Leeds 1 st August 2023 , we are always looking for value for money in today’s climate . I purchased 3 Virgin Experience Days for 6 people and looked forward to our day out . Unfortunately Veeno must do better , Tuesday no one in so no pressure , the service was super slow , the food was average , after our tasting I went to the bar ordered some more drinks the Aperol came where was the beer we ordered !!! still sat at the bar , 5 minutes later I collected it myself . Staff need more training and concentrating on customers , instead of going outside with mobile phones , eating and smoking . I do not like writing negative reviews but Veeno really needs to up their game . £ 70:00 for 2 people , no way. The Wine was good Sorry 1 disappointed customer from Wakefield .

As part of my hen do we did the Trip to Sicily wine tasting experience at Veeno in Leeds. This was just such a lovely experience. The food and wine were delicious! Great atmosphere in the place. A big shout out to Kieran who looked after us for the night. He took his time and didn't rush us through the experience, was very attentive and just a great personality. You have an amazing member of staff there Veeno! We stayed for hours and it really set the bar for the rest of our weekend. We had a such a great night!

Unfortunately the lack of service let the place down. Food was excellent.

Drinks are good, food is tasty but the Italian afternoon tea is not worth £25 each. The photo attached is an afternoon tea that would have cost £50, thankfully I had been gifted a voucher as a birthday present. You do get tea or coffee as well but seriously not enough food for the price. (There were 4 sandwiches in total - not 2 as pictured just to be honest for the review)
