The best restaurants in Weymouth and Portland South West

Lovely venue but so disappointed with the pizzas and salad we had. The seasonal salad consisted of rocket and large cous cous with a few peas tossed in. The mackerel fillets were ok but the portion was starter size and the price mains. No flavour at all. The pizzas had excessive flour underneath and the toppings were straight out of a tin with the over riding flavour of tomato puree. Cheese was minimal. Unusually for a restaurant with table service, the payment was taken with the order and no receipt offered. Because no one came to see us once served, there was no opportunity to order a second round of drinks or a dessert. The one course meal for four with 4 drinks was over ninety pounds but we left feeling ripped off. Previous visits there have been much better.

Have been coming here for years on our Weymouth holidays and always have a really lovely, warm welcome. This time was different. It was very busy but the young girl with dark hair and glasses made me feel like an inconvenience. I appreciate how difficult customer facing jobs are if you're not having a great day but she was singing and laughing with her colleagues which made me feel worse. Only a brief encounter but not the usual experience.

We arrived at S&L wanting to do a bottomless brunch but we hadn't booked. We went online and booked last minute and the team accommodated us brilliantly. Kyle went above and beyond! Great knowledge on the menu and drink choices and very prompt service! Thanks Kyle!

The worst fish and chips ever. Cod over cooked. Batter burnt cod inside shrivelled and stuck to over crispy batter. Chip dry and shrivelled clearly cooked more than twice. This was a complete waste of money inedible even my cat wouldn’t touch it as it tasted and smelt of burnt fat!

Only stopped because the man was cutting some really delicious looking meat from the kebab. Can say that's as far as the delicious went. The meat had a nasty evil smell to it, and the texture was so wrong, I don't think either of my senses will ever recover from that moment. Had some chips too, also not too great, very oily. The ketchup they use is very sticky and sour. It all went in the bin. Customer service was alright, kind gent serving 👍

Avoid go else where. The food tasted bland quality wasn’t the best. Be better getting a kebab from any other restaurant

Great little pub with it's own Karaoke. Isang a couple of songs. Well worth a visit 🤠

Tried two or three different breakfasts - all well cooked and clearly good quality produce used. Very warm and welcoming staff creating a friendly atmosphere. A definite for us when we're back in Weymouth again.

Took my wife & children for lunch. We sat in the extra seating side as the main side was full. Extra seating side was getting quite busy as well. Found a table to suit us & chose from the menu, only to be told I would need to go into the main side to order as the counter in our side was not in use. On waiting in a long queue & getting to the till area, I was told that the smaller plates menu on the tables was not in use. I then had to go back to the table to allow the children to choose something different. My wife then asked a member of staff passing our table why they are not doing smaller plates for the children on the main menu, who then returned with the same smaller plates menu that we had been told they were not using. My wife told the member of staff that we had not been asked if it was for the children.We felt that we had been overlooked by our age and having foster children. We were then told that we could order from the smaller plate menu . My wife then said that it would not be good enough to have to queue again and the staff member got another staff member to place our order at the “not in use” till. Once we did manage to order, the food then took another 45 minutes to arrive. This is a place we have used many times, but the service we received today was shambolic and we feel that we were judged by our ages with children.

Absolute disgrace. Was told it was 55 minutes delivery. I waited 70 minutes and phoned them, they said it was being cooked and would be 20 minutes wait. I waited a further 30 minutes and then phoned again, only to be told that they had not even begun cooking my order! Over priced anyway when compared to other Chinese take aways in the area. Do not use these expensive idiots to feed you, you will be disappointed.

We stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed, food was lovely, hot and good portions. Dog friendly, water bowl given as soon as we arrived. I spotted board games stacked up to the side which is great if you want to kill a couple of hours. Staff are really friendly. Nothing bad to say, thank you.

Was clean and smelled fresh, everyone was having a good time around me lots of happy families and couples was lovely to see elderly folk having the best time. I had a child's cooked breakfast was just the right size for me and was delicious 😋
