Worst lunch from a take out ever , I ordered chicken chow mein , it was a decent portion but it was tasteless and the chicken was over cooked . The whole thing was difficult to eat and it made me sick

Excellent hot food delivered to our campsite in Portesham. I had a king prawn dish which was generous and cooked to perfection. Large portions. Prompt polite delivery.

We have been waiting over two hours for our Chinese this evening. The lad who took our order said one hour. When we rang he said another 20 mins… that was another hour on top… been using this Chinese for years. Really unhappy as we’ve just realised they’ve over charged us by £10 as well.

Food great, quick and tasty. Ordered easily online and collected, twice whilst we were on holiday. Portions good and full of flavour.

I was a little anxious to go there due to previous reviews. I was pleasantly surprised.. I visited, was helped with the choice by a friendly Chinese lady and was told my order would be ready in 10mins. Which is was exactly on on time.. The meal was one of the best Chinese takeaway I have had. Well done I shall be going again.

Often have a takeaway from here. Cant remember having a bad meal. Any errors with orders are always rectified without fuss

We ordered a meal from here whilst staying with family nearby. We had heard good reports about this take away but have to say that although the food was OK it wasn't anything special and I certainly wouldn't rush to return there.

I have been a customer of this take away for over 2 years and bought a takeaway on a regular weekly basis as I live nearby. The food has always been good. I ordered a takeaway to be delivered on New Year’s Eve. I waited 4 hours and despite calling a couple of times the food still did not arrive. I eventually cancelled the order as I was fed up waiting. I will not use this place again and they have lost £1400 per annum business because they could not be bothered to be honest and tell me they were so busy they could not guarantee a delivery time.

Thought we’d treat our family to a nice Chinese meal for New Years Eve so thought we’d try somewhere different for a change, found Ocean City online and had a good review staring, ordered our meal at 5.45 on their online ordering system and got an email confirmation email saying our order had been confirmed and would be delivered in 100 minutes, after waiting 2 hours and 10 minutes I thought I’d best check they had our order and tat there wasn’t a problem, I spoke to a girl on the phone who told me they had 2 dishes to add to the order and it would be sent out, we sat patiently waiting after another hour and 10 minutes my partner phoned them to find out what was going on and spoke to the same girl and explained that we had children who were waiting to eat and could she give us an idea of a delivery time to be told there were other orders in front of us so they would have to be dealt with 1st, and that she couldn’t give us a delivery time so probably best to cancel the order. When I was told this I was clearly annoyed as by then we’d been waiting 3 hours and 20 minutes !! I phoned myself and after numerous failed attempts I finally got though and spoke to the same girl who said just how busy they were and that there were orders in front of me but guaranteed my order would be delivered to me, I said as we had children who were hungry if it wasn’t coming just to be honest so we could make other arrangements and she said I guarantee your order will be delivered to you tonight just couldn’t give me a definite time. It’s now 4 hour and 30 minutes and their closed so I guess her guarantee is as reliable as their ordering system !!

We thought we would give it a try very poor dry and no flavour .normaly use the Chinese at chapel hay never had a problem there .a waste of £40

Food was nice. But ordered a collection and was told 45 mins, we got there 45 mins later and was told it would be another 20 mins, after that we were told another 10 mins; 20 mins later we got our food, overall it took just over an hour and a half for our food, half of which we spent waiting in the cold. Shame as food was nice. But will not be coming again.

After a couple of not so good meals from our usual Chinese and reading the reviews we decided to order from Ocean City. The email order confirmation said our food would be delivered in 90 minutes. It arrived 30 minutes after this, a total of 2 hours after we placed our order which was a little disappointing. That being said, the food was good; it was hot and appeared freshly cooked. We will definitely try Ocean City again and hope that the delivery doesn’t take as long.

Last three orders were not to usual high standard. Last night my son left his chicken foo young, my wife had crispy sweet and sour chicken with more crisp than chicken and my kung po lamb was so chewy I left it. It was shoulder of lamb and had to peel a thick layer of skin off each piece to get to the fatty chewy disgusting meat. I don't know why the quality has changed so drastically but I'm voting with my feet, they don't even reply to feedback. BTW I was burping and farting all night and till lunch today. I spent nearly fifty quid in all with the other family members, rip-offh

Placed order over phone told half an hour 1 hour later after standing ourside collected food which was cold and greasy and tastless cost 25 pounds which went in the dustbin even my dog didn't like it

Ordered a Chinese from here - total was @£100 so a fairly extensive order for 10 people. We all enjoyed the chinese - wasn’t greasy and didn’t take too long to deliver. Would recommend.

Of the last 1/2 dozen meals have had a problem almost every time. Batter is normally overcooked on Prawn/Chicken balls on outside and sloppy dough inside. Had the sh1t5 so many times recently from it too. Tonight meal merely average so can’t really justify going here ever again. Getting progressively worse so will now avoid.

Great food , friendly service. Everything freshly cooked. Top choice for a Friday night treat. Highly recommended.

Ordered a family meal this evening delivered to door. House special was awful meat was so dry rice soggy never again ,Barbicue ribs not nice at all prawncrackers old and all broken. Their was other foods ordered by family members and alot of left overs. NOT a good meal at all cooked really bad will never go back

We have used a number of other Chinese takeaways in Weymouth but decided to go to Ocean City for the first time last night. The moment my husband brought the dishes into our kitchen I knew we were in for a treat; it smelt delicious. It was indeed, delicious. We unwisely chose two very sweet dishes and found it was all a bit too sweet for our taste (entirely our fault) but the flavours of the sauces and quality of the meat of the Kung Po Lamb and the Honey and Garlic Chicken were just lovely. The Singapore Noodles were nice and peppery. You could really taste the absence of the MSG. Such a refreshing change.We will definitely be going back for more and look forward to researching some better combinations.

Now, having read a variety of reviews you will be wondering if my review is good or bad !I am pleased to say that having used this Takeaway for a couple of years, my opinion is definitely “Good”. We live about three and a half miles away and always have our Order delivered.The delivery charge is very reasonable and I don’t know how they manage it, but is always piping hot.The menu is comprehensive- usual choices with a variety of “Specials” and always accompanied by a decent portion of prawn crackers as a freebie.Just selecting one item of note is easy. It is the ribs with sweet and sour sauce.I have never tasted such a delicious dish. The meat is so tender that it literally falls off of the bone and the sauce is mild but tasty.The portion is a good size - as are all of the dishes.I can thoroughly recommend the Ocen City. In my opinion it is easily the best Chinese Takeaway in the area - it has never disappointed and I must admit - I am not the easiest person to please !

My Chinese of choice in Weymouth. Fresh msg free food. Very helpful, good prices, nice delivery drivers. Only item I think needs improvement is the soup selection-wonton please!! :)

It’s hard to make a Singapore noodles badly let alone to put someone off eating at their establishment forever but this place really hit the nail on the head of everything!Draped in oil and non descript meat that was certainly not fresh literally made my stomache curdle as I ate it. I’m not used to this level of badness and I eat kebabs regularly so not impressed at all

Ordered takeaway by phone a few times here since. Was told quick if collected, ended up waiting 35 minutes for an order we phoned in. Needless to say not impressed. No apology about the wait i had to ask twice where our food was. We even gave 20 minutes notice as requested.

We were recently staying on a local campsite and ordered a meal (for 4 of us) for delivery.

First and definitely the last take away from here. Special fried rice was a big mound of tasteless sludge with the added bonus of dried out slices of unidentifiable meat. Stodgy chicken balls and rank sweet and sour sauce. Can't describe how bad it was. Never again.

Despite being down a private lane the food ordered was delivered on time Quantity was good value. Apart from the pulled duck being slightly dry the food was so good we considered it better than the top rated Chinese at home.

The most consistent Chinese Take-away in Town. Lots of choice, everything is piping hot and the portions huge. It can get busy so its worth phoning ahead - easy to pick up as lots of parking (also delivery option), always friendly and efficient service too.

Decidimos probar este chino como era recomendar después de una mala experiencia con un restaurante chino diferente ya que el servicio era descuidado a veces. Had take away twice from here while on holiday. Quick efficient service on the phone, 10-15 minutes to prepare food and it was ready when we went to collect. Nice and hot food. Good value.

I phoned my order through and was told it would be ready for collection in 15 mins I arrived on time and saw my order being bagged up returned home and plated up and we had a very enjoyable meal plus no MSG

Ordered my usual dishes, spare ribs, sweet and sour chicken balls, schezwan veg, egg rice, etc. The ribs were out of this world and the chicken in the sweet and sour is actually real god's honest chicken!! None of that processed chicken you get everywhere else. Top marks, will certainly use again when visiting Weymouth.

Staying up the road at the nearby camp, we decided that some extra rations were in order.Arrived close to closing but not an issue, friendly and helpful staff, don`t expect English fayre here as the female Sjt with me had, she was informed that no sausages or chips where on the menu.Food was great large lean chicken pieces somewhat larger than the usual cut down you may receive.Avoid the pancake rolls as these came with there own greasy swimming pool.I would recommend on quality and price.

Since our nearby chinese takeaway changed hands, and bacame appalling, we have been using Ocean City.......very reliable and good food, cooked in front of you by a hard working team of chinese chefs. Hopefully, it won't change hands like our old one did. Certainly better quality than the Chinese restaurant in Weymouth.

I'm staying in Weymouth on holiday and a few days ago I tried this takeaway as recommended by a friend as a lover of this type of food my experience was appalling the fried rice was like bullets and filled with grease the chips tasted as if they had been cooked at least ten times I wasn't going to mention the chicken balls but the batter was soggy and greasy the curry sauce was watery and tasted like an horrible cheap gravy I didn't bother to complain because after this dreadful experience I looked up further reviews and seen that someone posted the restaurant didn't bother about complaints so I thought that I would warn Chinese lovers before they veture here

Came across this Chinese as use to visit quite a few years ago and back then was one of the best ever now the tables have turned it is now one of the worst I have ever had chow main so greasy chicken satays were not what I have ever had before just disgusting we had spent a lot of money for this but will clearly never return

First let me just say that the food is acceptable.....it's not awesome but it's good enough especially if you live nearby. I've used it about 5 times now and their big plus for me has always been the delivery aspect. If I have to drive to collect then there are better choices.Unfortunately the delivery aspect of this restaurant is disfunctional. I cannot accept a 1h30m delivery when the promised time was 45m. This restaurant has clearly over stretched itself. And this wasn't the first time. Last time we had to threaten to cancel before food turned up 1h45m after the order was placed. Either the restaurant needs to focus on handing over the delivery aspect to a third party that has sequential priority over incoming business or it needs to stop it's delivery service.I'm being generous with 2 stars because the food is better than some of the alternatives but I'd rather go to Ming Wah of Mayflower

I am a visitor to Weymouth I read trip advisors review and tried it and because of the bad tasting experience I won't be going to this Chinese again I paid expensive prices for this and it quite clearly tasted very cheap I would recommend it

Keep going back to this take away,we find it the best around Weymouth.They are happy to help and always do our curry hotter as requested,rice is always good.Delivery is normally fairly quick but they do warn you how long it will be.It always seems busy with the phone constantly ringing when we do go to pick our food up ,I would recommend

My family and I ordered a takeaway meal from this restaurant on Sunday evening. What can I say lovely hot fresh food with good portion sizes. This restaurant was extremely accommodating to our requests when we wanted to alter the sauce due to personal preference. Extremely friendly staff and a free delivery service. The food is cooked in front of you with fresh clean ingredients and equipment. If you are a local or on holiday our family would recommend this Chinese takeaway to all. Free prawn crackers were a bonus also. Thank you Ocean city for being so helpful and accommodating with the sauce change. This must be the best chinese takeaway in Weymouth town ! One of the best Chinese takeaways I have ever had. I read reviews that deliveries were cold. This didn't bother me as I was collecting. Food is cooked in view and all of the staff were friendly. I was on a family break to Littlesea Haven site. Highly recommend to anyone. If they delivered to my home address I would order and accept that it was cold. Awesome food

Ordered a meal from here based on the reviews. So disappointed! The food was so greasy, chicken balls dripping with fat. Prawn toast so over cooked you couldn't chew it. Beef with cashews chewy and tasteless. Other dishes just as bad. The meal was for three of us and we all agreed one of the worst Chinese takeaway's ever! I rang them up to give them some feed back but they didn't really seem bothered. We will not be back.

For me this is the best place in weymouth.Always very good,polite staff/delivery drivers.Most of the chinese takeaways round here seem to serve up the same bland tasteless food all sourced i guess from same supplier yet this place is different..Tastes great and digests well lol..I recommend special fried rice and crispy chilli beef ftw...lovely!

You can watch your food being prepared, we read other reviews and decided to try for ourselves. We collected so can't comment on delivery. Food was all tasty particularly the sweet and sour chicken. We had lots left so had it again the following evening.

The only place we go for takeaway. One of the first takeaways in Weymouth to be bothered to offer free delivery as opposed to pick up, the food is always hot and well cooked. It doesn't swim in Greece and give you heartburn like some Chinese food scan and who doesn't love a complimentary bag of prawn crackers? Add another main course and a large portion of egg fried rice and I have a sumptuous meal for two for less than £12. Spend a bit more to take your order over £15 and you can order over the phone and it will be delivered free to your home.Chinese and Cantonese-style cooking is available and I like the way when you do attend Ocean City you can see all the meals being cooked in their open kitchen.Ocean City also offers healthy food without MSG or artificial colours and its menu urges diners to ask if they have a particular dish they want that they cannot see and, if the ingredients are available, staff will cook it for them including vegetarian dishes.I consider myself lucky to live within two miles of such a good takeaway. Locals know about it and it doesn't take holidaymakers long to learn about it as well. It really is that good.

As on holiday in Weymouth we didnt know where to go for a good takeaway. Read reviews on here and gave it a go. The food was so delicious, hot and good portions. Had to wait a bit for food as very busy-a good sign. And everything cooked fresh in front of you. Will definately use again when back.

After reading all the great reviews I was expecting a good takeaway, bit disappointed in what I had. I had Chicken with plum sauce on beansprouts, sorry to say the chicken was that hard I could not chew it, I was glad I had ordered extra veggies which were really nice. My partner had Chicken chow mein with blackbean sauce both favourites it was really good and the chicken was very tender. The up side was no msg.

I have had loads of meals from the Ocean City and so far they have all been excellent. Very friendly service and usually very quick except when very busy.

Chinese restaurants are a funny thing. Each establishment has near identical menus, offering the same food, so one could assume the good would taste the same everywhere. Except it doesn't. At Ocean City it tastes better than anywhere else!The food isn't greasy, the service is quick and easy, the taste is amazing, and the portion sizes lends itself to 'value for money'. For example a chicken chow mein at Ocean City has a thick density of chicken, whereas at competitors chicken tends to be sparse, hidden solemnly amongst oodles of noodles and bean sprouts.Highly recommended.
