I had their takeaway delivered. Food is cooked fresh and tastes so good. 😋 definitely good value for money. Better than any Chinese I've had. Friendly delivery driver. Chinese 4U is the best in portland and weymouth.

Absolutely appalling! The food came to £36.10, I ordered crispy shredded beef, house special fried rice, Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken, plain chow mien, curry sauce, salt pepper chips and veggie rolls. The portion sizes where so small for the price! The food on the other hand wasn’t great at all! The rice was just horrific tasting🤢 and the chow mien was very very greasy! Also the Hong Kong style chicken had pieces of chicken that were gooey I nearly throw up🤢 the shredded beef was ok other than the portion size! Never again will I be going here!

Really disappointing order the other week, after giving it another go after an ok order before. Not only was it VERY late once it did arrive all the food was completely tasteless and bland. We didn’t finish it and threw most away. Will probably avoid for a while.

Really surprised of the quality of our delivered food. Far beyond average! My hot and sour soup was perfect, as were the rice and chow mien mains. Order with confidence!

Food was OK, nothing to write home about especially for the price. Unable to pay by card. Restaurant remains closed and the 'waiting area' is dimly lit and freezing cold. The tofu mixed vegetables was nice though!

Very bland Singapore noodles and beef Szechuan.

I’m Chinese from Hong Kong and my memories of bland, oily Chinese takeaway during my boarding school years initially set me up for low expectations, but I came back for dinner every night after a hard day’s climbing because the food was great and satisfying - piping hot, has “wok air” (flavour of heat), fresh ingredients, not greasy or over-seasoned. My faves were the foo yung (especially king prawn), spare ribs with chilli & salt and chef’s fried rice. Pairing with an extra dry Prosecco or a rosé from Co-op across the road 😋 - mint!

Food quality has gone downhill while just introduced 'new menu'. Also known as - same menu, higher prices. Prices now horrendous in comparison to the competitor a few doors along where portions much bigger.. If the quality ain't there I refuse to pay the extra which I have done in past. Also now charges for delivery.

over an hour wait for bland and tasteless and really dissapointing food. the only redeeming feature is that you can pay by card over the phone. bothhubby and and i had a starter, soup tasted like soysauce and water there was very little flavour and hubbys was swimming in fat. our main of sweet and sour and pad thai were bland with very little spice or flavour and the house special rice was nothing special as it too lacked flavour. we wont be using it again as it has gone down hill a lot since the pandemic began.

Normally go to the other Chinese but its been not so good recently so decided to try Chinese 4 u tonight and so glad we did. The chow mein was spot on and the sweet and sour sauce perfect. Battered prawn balls were also great. Will make this our go to Chinese now 😋

My regular order is the chicken chow mein, and it's always amazing. Lovely staff, prompt service, ample portion sizes if you're really hungry or to share, and the perfect balance of ingredients every time.

ordered a meal for my birthday,had chow mein,the noodles were undercooked and dry,crispy chilli chicken was mostly batter and a bland small ammount of sauce,oredered special fried rice,recieved house special rice with 1 piece of chicken in it!! never again

Fantastic! Very good food and delivered in good time. Salt and pepper king prawns were the tastiest I've had in a long time and the duck and pineapple was the best my husband has ever had. Also the chicken and noodle soup was so flavoursome. Everything we ordered we were very impressed with, thank you Chinese 4 U. 👏👏

Just tried this place for the first time, great service but food was tasteless. Luckily I only ordered a small meal to try but from the first mouthful I was very disappointed. Definitely won't be going back, absolute shame.

I ordered roast duck with mushrooms & asked for extra peppers, my order came I put it on top of the fried rice sat down to eat it & couldn't find a single piece of duck? So I phoned them up & they told me I had asked for Mixed vegetables in satay sauce with extra peppers. I told them I didn't & asked how that even sounded remotely like Roast duck with mushrooms & they just said I don't know? I heard him speaking to someone else then he asked me if I wanted the roast duck sending out again? I said yes please & some more fried rice as mine is now ruined. Then he told me I would have to pay for the meal again, I said I wasn't paying again for there mistake & told them they had just lost a customer! So basically my tea consisted of a bit of fried rice I hadn't put the mixed veg in satay sauce on & some prawn crackers! I posted about this to a local FB & so many people have commented on how useless they are & how rude they are. Wish I had known this before I used them!

I have sued this takaway twice as i allways the goldon island but switched to chinese 4 u because the outher chinese went from 5 stars to 3 this one has 5 stars. first time got chowmain and egg fryed rice got home only 2 mins drive away dished up but was only luck warm gade to put in mic, Went back again orderd the same politley told of last time i orderd it was not hot could they please make sure it was piping hot they said sorry to hear that of course we will got home yet again only luck warm temp was only 32c not good at all will not be useing again they have had 2 chances now pluse i dont think the food tastes as good as the outher one

Friendly staff and service average prices great food free delivery on orders over £15 very busy on weekends so maybe a long wait for food delivery best to pick up our food if you can.

I regularly have takeaways from here. Polite reception over the phone, I'm always told if they are busy and my order will be a while. King prawn balls are great, however the sweet and sour sauce is disappointing, sour but no sweetness so I always bin it. Their chilli and salt ribs are absolutely divine, best ever! Plus their taxi delivery charge doesn't make your eyes water.. unlike some.

My wife and I decided on a Saturday night takeaway and thoroughly enjoyed our meals from Chinese 4 U. The Thai green chicken curry was fantastic, as ever. My wife, being vegetarian, had the Tofu curry which she said was ‘amazing’. Thank you, Chinese 4 U, we’ll be back next week!

Ordered food that sounded delicious and it kept it's promise, i was not dissapointed and i especially want to keep buying more banana fritters they are so good. Though if i could suggest something? I love your fritters but the banana inside is a tad over powering, there isn't much of a balence between the syrup, batter and banana i was going to ask if you could try using less banana and more battar with banana slices instead? Either way i love this place and will be ordering again!

After 2 days of being trapped in we thought we'd treat ourselves to a Chinese. Chinese4u is my preferred choice to other on the island and normally everything goes without a problem. Tonight however was a different story. Upon calling we knew they'd be busy, after 2 days of snow and ice, we were prepared to wait. We placed our order and we given a time of 1 hour 20 minutes for delivery. Again we expected a wait so this was fine. Our food finally arrived 1 hour and 35 minutes later. The chicken balls were over cooked and hard. The duck at £7.60 a quarter was cold. As were the 2 chicken chow meins and young chow fried rice that we had ordered. We called back chinese4u who spoke to the kitchen who said it was cooked fresh but they could come and collect the cold duck and apologise. No mention of a refund or replacing the order. They just didn't seem to value the customers tonight. Unfortunately we will be going else where for our Chinese take away now. Which is a shame.

We were very disappointed at the poor quality of our food; the chicken in both of our main dishes was very overcooked (dry and hard) although the rice and noodles were fine. A shame to see such a decline in standards.

On a Saturday night four of us asked if we could get a table, bearing in mind the restaurant was empty, the first reply from in the kitchen was "NO we are too busy" after some discussion in Chinese the young man said O.K. you can sit here and showed us to a table, we sat down he then got out a cloth and started to clean down the table which still had food remains from the last time it was used. This and the fact that it was freezing in there was the last straw and I said sorry we will move on to somewhere else. Therefore I cannot comment on the food but the service is not at all acceptable and is a waste of a good restaurant. I want to eat where i'm appreciated for my custom not made to think they are doing me a favour.

Stopping round the corner from this takeaway decided to try it out bit of a wait but the food was very good worth a visit

Delivery is always swift and very polite. We have tried a wide range of the menu and it's always nice however sometimes it is over salty and we end up drinking lots of water all night!!

Ordered by phone, was served by a lovely lady. Food great, as good as any normal chinese take away. Did have to wait an hour for delivery though, but was told on phone that it would be that long. Would use again. They take card which is the main reason we use them, unlike the other takeaways.

Had a takeaway from here whilst on holiday on the island and thought it was very good, certainly better than most Chinese takeaways I've been to.The menu is unspectacular and comprises all the usual favorites, but they do what they do well and certainly all the food we had struck the right note flavour-wise and was certainly a tad tastier than what we usually get.Good quick, friendly service too.If I was a local I'd be back!

The food was amazing here, 5 friends and I visited here and everyone loved the food. We sat in the restaurant, the only thing I would say is the place has not got much of an atmosphere (we were the only ones in there). It seems to be just a popular takeaway rather than a sit in and eat. We were visiting the island for a few days but we enjoyed it.

Best Chinese on the island but make sure you plan ahead as each time we've phoned for a delivery it takes 1.5 hours. Always tasty and not too salty like other Chinese takeaways.

Sunday evening and we needed a meal. They were fast and friendly and the food was great. Small place perhaps not best for sitting in

Second time ordering and the last. First mistake was ignored this time I phoned as it was a starter. I had, I believe, each member of staff assuring me I was wrong and that the starter had been packed. So much so that I triple checked after calling to ensure I hadn't made the mistake. I then even had the delivery driver, either the owner or the chef, and the person taking the orders saying no both soups were packed. I'm pretty sure Portland has its quirks but it's the first time I have heard of the Peking soup triangle! Needless to say they were adamant I had both soups (I didn't even get one) and they were right! I will not be ordering again and I would advise anyone against it! Food quality is okay but service is absolutely shocking! Who on earth running a sincere business would argue over a soup! Handed over thirty pounds for adequate food and absolute shocking service even for a takeaway. Portland is shut off from takeaways but I would rather eat toast than order from these people again!

The food here is nice, we had the same problem last year with the restaurant booking, we tried to book for 7.30pm and was told on the phone, "could you make it 8pm as we're busy"? OK I said, we went in and it was empty, we cancelled the booking and went across to the pub, the takeaway takes priority, hence all the missing tables too. Good as a takeaway but not to dine in the restaurant.

have used the take away service regularly over past year or so without any problems and the food has always been good and piping hot.however this evening they messed up order, when ringing to ask for it to be put right i was told i would have to pay an extra 20p and would take three quarters of an hour for chips to be delivered .very rude male on phone would not let me talk to owner and i was informed that "they were to busy and i need to understand its not just me that has ordered food"after being a loyal customer i can honestly say i was gob-smacked by his attitude and that i will never order from here again.

At around 8pm we go to the Chinese 4 U takeaway and restaurant. It is empty ! No one in the takeaway no one in the restaurant at all. We say can we eat in the restaurant ? The young lady waiting to servie at the counter says she had better check. So she asked the Chinese lady owner if this is ok and the shouted reply came back 'no ! we are too busy'.So we ate in a lovely pub up the street. When we again passed the Chinese 4 U at a little after 10pm it was still totally empty. I wonder why !!I am therefore unable to tell you what the food is like but the service and attitude are the most stupid I have ever encountered. I really hope they fail.

Was looking for a quick meal for the family after we spent too much time at the beach.Food was very tasty, cooked well. Good Chinese food.

Every year I come for a sculpting workshop I eat here several times because the service is very fast, the food is excellent and cheap , comes to the table piping-hot and doesn't contain MSG. All flavours are natural. Wash it down with a pot of jasmin tea and the bill will certainly not exceed 10 GBP.

Good for takeaways, the food is always fine. They also have a small restaurant so you do have the option of eating out. This can lack a little atmosphere if there are only a few people using it but if you are in a group then it's fine. Staff always friendly and helpful.

Went here when we were on holiday. The decor is dated and a bit weird however lovely service and delicious food.

We have been visiting this Chinese restaurant take away for over a year, we have always enjoyed their food and service, the food they serve is truly very good, I don't think we have had better anywhere else, fresh, tasty good sized portions, we are happy with all we have tried, the Chinese we used to use (only 30 yards from Chinese 4u) has definitely been swept aside, we won't be changing now we have found this superb Chinese, the staff and owners are very pleasant and helpful, top quality food, highly recommended
