On holiday and staying at Weymouth bay caravan site . Fantastic food great value for money. Highly recommended.

Bbq sauce is far far too salty now

Tasty Chinese cuisine which we couldn't eat all and finished off for lunch next day. Sweet and sour chicken ,crispy batter and standard sauce which jellifies when cold but tastes great when hot ! Crispy chilli beef again was lovely taste not the best but still very nice served with onion and pepper in sauce . Fried rice ok . I would eat here again.

Pre 2023 Helpful friendley staff. Quick service. The food is very good. Post 2023 The takeaway appears to have been taken over by new managment. I purchased a rice noodle dish which both myself and my wife considered horrible. It had excessive amounts of salt and was almost inedible. I also purchased lemon chicken. It was coated in a thick greasy batter. The chicken itself was a very thin layer (which I assume had been pummelled with a rolling pin) it was rendered tasteless. The oil tasted old and dirty - horrible. It was like drinking neat rancid sunflower oil. The lemon sauce seemed to be OK. I tried to pay via the the website using Apple Pay. The store website wanted my name, mobile number, postcode, etc., seemed like data mining. In the end I payed cash as I have never been asked for such information for such a simple transaction - ridiculous. Both myself and my wife tried the food and were complete agreement. Sadly I shall not be visiting again and shall seek an alternative takeaway. A tragic shame.

Take away ordered online, very easy and clear website. Food was ready by time stated and still hot. Food was delicious and portion sizes were good. Very friendly service. Highly recommend.

Don't bother ordering from here, delivery service was dreadful, driver was mistaken on house name and done nothing but complain with aggression. Maybe customer service lessons are required or lessons on how to talk to a female with a 1 month old baby in her arms. Learn the roads of weymouth and outer areas before becoming a driver and it will not be so hard for you! Otherwise food was OK.

This is the 2nd time I've ordered from there & I definitely WON'T be ordering from there again! The salt & chilli chips had enough salt to soak up the sea, the sweet & sour tasted of nothing as did the pineapple fritters! Absolute waste of money! When I ordered before I had crispy chilli chicken which was so sweet I just as well have chewed a bag of sugar & no chillness whatsoever...... if you like tasteless, this is your place!

Very good Chinese takeaway. Love their Singapore rice noodles and crispy chilli beef. Definitely recommend.

We searched high and low for a decent takeaway in Dorset with a five-star food hygiene rating and finally found this gem in Littlemoor. We had a lovely meal with generous portions and average prices. Even though I collected it and it took 24 minutes for me to get it home, it was still piping hot. I'd recommend the sweet and sour chicken balls - they were huge!

Easy to use Web site and it's great being able to set what time you'd like your food delivered. Food arrived on time and piping hot still. Very highly recommend The Golden Flame Chinese for delivery.

Disappointing. Ordered for the first time, won’t be doing it again. Stodgy egg fried rice with barely any egg, chilli beef was over cooked and greasy with a bland sauce, salt and pepper ribs were the only thing that tasted ok shame that it was all the end pieces with cartilage, spring rolls were over half pastry (see the pic). It did turn up on time though

Two of us had each a takeaway. Prawn curry was bland. Duck had too much fat, much of which remained uneaten, We shall need to hear iof improvements before we go there again

Great little Chinese takeaway great food and lots of it ! was found by accident when I saw a sign that said “bypassed Chinese takeaway” so naturally I had to investigate and ordered from there within 24 hours of getting the menu. There is a nice easy website to place an order or you can call your order through perfection !

Have ordered from here before but the food tonight was terrible. Not only was it pretty tasteless. The food portions have changed from the large aluminium trays to small plastic lid boxes. Delivery has also gone up to £4.00. I won’t be ordering again any time soon

Been there by seeing the bypassed Chinese takeaway sign ,give it a try,it was really nice and flavorsome,seem like a new decoration and new management

Customer service was fab. But the food was dry, lukewarm at best… I would of expected it to be hot as we live less than 5 minutes from the shop!

Ordered a takeaway from them for delivery which was very good and arrived in a timely fashion. However when I received the confirmation email and the breakdown of charges added to the the original cost of the meal I ended up paying an additional £2.90 on top of the cost of the meal. 1. £0.10p for a bag 2. £0.30p service charge 3. £2.50 delivery charge I get the charge for the bag as being the norm these days, on the service charge I'm indifferent. But I'm more than a little incensed at the £2.50 levied for delivery, as I only live (according to Google Maps) 1.4mls from the Takeaway?!!! This is imo excessive and would now avoid this cost by either phoning in my order, as there was nothing wrong with the food tbf. Or if they insisted on still charging out for the delivery, most likely go elsewhere on principle. Please sort this Golden Flame

Staying at Seaview and this was one of the closest chinese take aways and had some decent reviews so thought we would give it a try. It pretty expensive and id say maybe 25%+ more than what we normally pay but figured it should be worth it based on feedback. Sadly it was disappointing as everything was bland and wouldn't visit again or recommend. This is also a cash only shop.

We holiday in Weymouth every year and only found golden flame a few years ago when fancied a Chinese, omg best one ever and is every year we have it, its your traditional fried Chinese egg fried rice/fried noodles not like most the Chinese in my area that now boil literally everything, it’s now our must have tradition to have a golden flame on our yearly holiday, and they are so lovely and chatty when go in there.

We come to Weymouth every year. Golden Flame is amazing. Great staff, friendly and helpful, delivery is usually on time, personal friendly also. Food is top Chinese, absolutely 5 star.

Family run. The food was good. It is difficult to communicate through the covid barrier that was still up. They preferred cash. They were not keen at taking a card payment. I thought the price was a little high. But I haven't bought a Chinese takeaway in over a year. Anniversary treat.

Food portions where very small. Crispy seaweed in the smallest pot for £5. The chicken balls where small and chopped in half to make you feel like you have got double. The satay sauce was runey and didn't taste of anything. The shreaded chicken was nice. £35 for a meal that barely fed us. We will go back to our normal takeaway.

Best choice for Chinese takeout

They have a 5 star food rating, which is hard to keep, so well done! They are always polite and I love the way their chef prepares the food, it's always tasty. They share a car park, so you can park and collect. They have comfy chairs and sofa in the waiting area, so you can relax while waiting for your food.

Great local Chinese take-away. The building and interior decor is very dated but the staff and menu are great. Parking directly outside and orders can be made via phone or their website as well as directly inside.

We have been coming to this Chinese takeaway for nine years and have always had very good service and food, we always recommend people to go here for a takeaway meal. We have also had them deliver and the food was still hot and didn't take any more time than us going to pick up.

On holiday at Weymouth caravan park and had our meal delivered. Quick delivery, great communication, food was lovely , hot and flavoursome. Noodles portions were very large but main dishes were slightly smaller than usual but still very tasty and fresh . Would recommend from someone who absolutely loves Chinese take away

Ordered for collection, Had to wait a minute upon arrival, which is not an issue. Food was good staff were lovely 😊, very happy with the prices and the food.

We used the Golden Flame last Sept when down on holiday and had a really good meal. Have been there today 16/03 and we are very disappointed the food was very substandard. The 1/4 duck was deep fried and burnt, chicken chow mein just warm and the mixed Hors D'oeuuvres would not order again. If they were busy and under staffed I might be more forgiving but being the only customer at the time there is no excuse. Will not be going back

Used to be fantastic, I have used this Chinese for over 10 years now but recently they have changed from fresh, to frozen chips, lowered the quality in every product I'm used to ordering and bumped up the prices a ridiculous amount while lowering quality. It come to around £17 for chop suey, chips and a sauce with delivery. The chop suey was so watery it poured off my plate twice, the chips were frozen tasteless potato rocks and the sauce was completely different to usual. I won't ever be coming back here again and this backed up by the local community who on the most part now avoid this takeaway, it used to be everyone's favourite many years ago.

The service was OK. On arrival at home, I found that the sweet & sour sauce was very runny - almost watery (with a pineapple chunk that disintegrated into small bits), the chicken did not look fresh, and there was a dead moskito in my chips. Disappointing. Ps. In response to the Golden Flame's reply to my original message: I like pineapple in my sweet&sour sauce - I am used to pineapple chunks in it. I just found it odd that the "chunk" was no longer a chunk but lots of small bits which indicated to me that it was overcooked to the point of disintegrating. But that was not a major problem. I had more problem with what the chicken looked like (it may have been freshed but it did not look so, and so I only ate two pieces out of the very generous portion, as I was concerned about its freshness). I ate most of my chips before finding a dead moskito on one of them - I instinctively removed it and deposited it on the paper - as seen. I did not return as I do not live locally and by the time I got to eat my takeaway I was miles away...

Came down on holiday and can honestly say the BEST Chinese I've had so far, yes little bit pricey but for what we recieved tonight can honestly say it was worth every penny, chicken was so nice and tender and jucie and the foo young is to die for ... will definitely stop in next time we go on vacation nearby Given 5 stars purly as it won't let me give 10 stars ✨️

Amazing food as usual , I have drive from Portland to littlemoor for the last 8 years , just for their Singapore rice noodles , crispy shredded beef ,salt and pepper king prawns , bbq ribs .all other food is good to ,Best Chinese in the area ,wont be disappointed A+++

In my opinion the oil in the fryer needed changing. Everything was very greasy and had an old oil taste. The chicken strips were dreadful. The price was expensive and the quality very poor. Not anything like any other Chinese I have had, and that is not a compliment I’m afraid

We recently had a family gathering and ordered food for 10 people. We ordered in advance and the food was ready at the right time. It was, as always, freshly cooked, hot and generously portioned. We have used this takeaway for decades and will continue to do so, due to the friendly service and excellent food.

This has been our family Chinese takeaway for many years and never disappoints. Having lived all over the country and tried many many different places, this is still the best. Whenever we have guests we always have a meal from here and they are always amazed at how good it is compared to their local Chinese. The food is consistently delicious, and always fresh. Just the best.

Price has gone up again, poor quality of the meat how on earth can you make chicken and pork so chewy and unfit to eat? Will not be buying from you again.

This was my first time here as we've just moved to the area. The previous poor reviews didn't reflect my experience. I've never been asked about wet or dry noodles before, (I prefer dry) and the end result was perfectly acceptable. I didn't order in advance, and only waited about 15/20 minutes. Fair enough for "cooked to order" food...

i have enjoyed several duck meals, such as tia green and red curry and duck chow mien. however i tried Cantonese and sweet and sour pork and it was absolute craap both time, i could'nt eat the first meal and all i can say about the second is frozen shiiit!! second worst in weymouth!9/01 2022

Lovely food but let down by poor service when having it delivered. Ordered online at 5pm no delivery avilable until 7pm, didnt arrive so phoned, didnt turn up until 8pm. I think next time ill collect myself!!!!!😬

After 1h and 35 min i've got bad quality food, raw chips....never again

Terrible. Food ordered online with a 7.20pm arrival time, and it arrived just short of two hours late at 9.15pm, and lukewarm. Had to chase three times on the phone, each time to be told the food was 'on its way'. I will not be placing another order.

Placed an order an told it would be ready for collection within 40 minutes. Turn up after 50 minutes to be told it would be another 15 as they had big orders in that "take priority" and that we were to wait in the car. 15 minutes later and still no food. My husband then went in and waited for another 15 mins ! It was awful service and the woman on the counter was extremely rude. Regardless of how the food tastes, we will not be going back there !

Food was good but service was so so. I asked for salt and vinegar on my chips if it was possible but it wasn't understood. They did put salt on them and the rest of the food was decent, not top range but good.

The place is a little hard to find if you are not familiar with the area (Google maps helps). Food is reasonably priced and pretty good.

Tried delivery one week 3 hours later food arrived in a taxi after several calls! Sent it away. Today tried collection took 45 minutes while other customers seemed to come and go! Food was bland no flavour and I’m not sure you could call the picture attached a chicken chow mein! More like onions and bean sprouts with a small amount of very wet noodles underneath! Would definitely never use them again!

The food is decent, however we have ordered here twice now and everytime it takes ages to be delivered. Both times the food was 30 minutes - 45 minutes late. When you ring up to ask where it is, they just say its on it's way. Shocking service really. But the food was very nice.

King prawn balls batter was soft 😩 not cooked enough. And, the king prawn chow mein we ordered was half full of chop suey and was revolting.

Amazing start to finish! The lady serving us on Tuesday evening was lovely - nothing was too much hassle! Super cheery and friendly, along with the young man cooking the food also. Pretty bad really. Had a takeaway from here whilst on holiday. Gristle in the chicken fried rice, too much sauce on the chow mein that leaked through the rest of the food. Prawn toast was ok though.

Placed a large order. Curry not too bad. Chow Mein was awful, intestinal tract left in the prawns. Special fried rice was soaked in slimey heavy sauce. Most dishes fairly bland. Wouldn't order again.
