Hel's Kitchen in Weymouth and Portland

The sweet and sour chicken sausages (can't call them balls) were nice, but the sauce was bland. The chips were awful, dry and powdery like they'd been reheated numerous times. We were on holiday at a caravan park so had to rely on reviews.

We placed an order for our food through a phone call and it was delivered to our campsite. The staff member who took our order over the phone was extremely helpful and the food quality was good. The delivery was on time and the staff kept us updated on the progress. In fact, they informed us through a call that the delivery would be with us in 15 minutes. However, I had two minor concerns. Firstly, I was unable to see the food options on the website and secondly, I couldn't use my Visa card for payment. Despite these concerns, we were otherwise very happy with our experience.

Ordered a small plain chow mein, house special fried rice, crispy chicken small and curry sauce. Then got told it was £25!!!! So I quizzed Hellen about the price to see if that was right. And she answered with “ I’ve got £120 orders if you don’t like the price go somewhere else” so I decided to wait for the latest menu with my food. To be fair food wasn’t the best. It was like warm to cold, the house special fried rice was more like just rice, with only a little portion of the meat. Would I recommend?? No!!! only if you want to feel that you’ve been robbed and insulted at the same time.

I have just had my first experience of food from Hel's Kitchen, I am in Weymouth for a weeks holiday, either i move to Weymouth or they have to move to Birmingham because their food is fabulous, I will definitely having more from them before I go home

Food was delivered quick, ribs were dry no sauce , curry tasted powdery and had no taste my sons shredded beef tasteless , wont be hurrying back .

Kung Po chicken with not a hint of chilli, no cashew nuts, and packed out with tinned black mushrooms. Nah. Great chips, mediocre Chinese. Go figure.

I wouldn't go there again. Staff were friendly and service was good but food wasn't nearly as good as the other Chinese a couple of hundred metres away on the same road. My special fried rice was so overcooked that it ended up in the dog.

Total perfection with their amazing salt and pepper ribs, battered chicken and rice. Friendly owner, and we had a nice chat while my food was being cooked.

Ordered chicken fried rice and crispy chicken 'balls' with chips. Very quickly prepared and reasonable price. Friendly service. Food was delicious, piping hot even after walking home. Would order from here again

Love it. Food is freshly made and delicious. Open kitchen so you can watch your food being made. Delivery drivers very friendly, and cheap delivery compared to others. Best Chinese in Weymouth in my opinion.

Really good food and quick service.

In 2021 if you can't cook fresh then why bother. Sweet n sour cold, crispy beef dry, special rice ...frozen meat pieces that were like bricks, cold rice that had been reheated, mixed veg with 99% beansprouts. Will not be using again

The best Chinese I've had in ages. They kindly threw in free prawn crackers and pancake rolls with our order. Recommended highly.

I have previously been a big fan of this restaurant. For so long I recommended to anyone who would listen. Calling it the best Chinese takeaway in Weymouth. However in the last 18 months the food quality has declined radically. The only thing quicker than the declining food quality is the DISGUSTING attitude of the staff. The most recent instance was when the delivery driver barged his way in to the shared house I live in without my housemate who answered the doors consent. He then knocked on my bedroom door. This is the third consecutive time I have had problems with delivery from this restaurant. Prior to this they barely touched the door when knocking to deliver then rapidly left. I know this because my housemate witnessed it. I was nearby and didnt hear the door being knocked. When I called asking where my food was after a 90 minute wait. I received abuse from the staff and then they called and attempted to deliver the food. The food was freezing cold. The food is at best average and the staffs attitude is a disgrace. AVOID at all costs.

One of the worst I've had !. All food except prawn toast, was either old food, or re-used and reheated. Everything was dry and brown. Very poor. We only went here because of the 4.3* rating. God knows how they got it. Food was only just edible.

Awful! Very disappointing Food metal wires in the chow mein, looked like a scouring pad. Phoned up to let them know, and not even an apology. When the replacement arrived, it was the wrong chow mein and Then they wanted me to box up the stuff with the metal in, so they could take it back. The food was bland, but then again I had lost my appetite

Popped in here after a long day. Had a beef chow mien and some bbq ribs. Vast menu and service was very friendly. Food was ok.

We ordered on the strength of the previous reviews. Plenty of food but unfortunately it wasn't to my liking to be honest. Springroll was not very nice but other people may like, the beef in the curry was a little strange ie. boiled to much , spare ribs were ok and the chips were over cooked / a little hard.

Real friendly lady and you can see the cooks cook your food while you wait ,4 of us eat and all enjoyed the food ,was not salty like alot of takeaways and no heartburn after ,even my wife who is real fussy with food loved it ,they will deliver as well for an extra £3 ,will use evertime we come down for our breaks ,thanks guys 😉.

I love this takeaway as I do love my crispy shredded chicken would love some fried vegetables in it though as I’ve found other Chinese takeaway put veg in it and it adds to it. That’s the only thing I fault, but other than that I pretty much do get it from here. Always a pleasure when answer the phone or when delivering food. Thank you xx

Biggest waste of money Crispy shredded beef was soggy Bland chow mien

Have moved from Margate to Weymouth...was sad to leave a Eat as Much as you like behind... Tried Hel's Kitchen..WHOW, Really tasty food. Wasn't disappointed...Even the Guy who delivers is polite and professional.

Had a takeaway tonight, the food was awful, most was burnt, prawn toast was inedible and the pancake roll was just this big greasy lump. Never, ever again.

This is without out doubt the worse Chinese we have ever had!!! And we have had a lot! Crispy duck was burnt. The Kung po sweet chilli chicken, was perfectly square shaped chicken pieces that didn't taste like chicken and the sauce was disgusting! The prawn crackers are extremely greasy. We also had special fried rice that was tastless and very dry. The chips and curry sauce portions and very small.(twhich is typical as it was the only thing that was edible) To add insult to injury they also over charged us by £3. (They Charged £2 for delivery on an order that was already at £25) you only get free delivery on orders over £30 (we were 3 miles away) if your happy to waste money and stay hungry then order away!!! I would avoid at all cost.

We had a menue for 2 with extra Duck and mushrooms and a portion seaweed (super crispy!) with 3 seniors and 2 adults for take away. It was very delicious but with the free kropuk and fortune cookies too much - so 2 of us can eat tomorrow again. Very good value for money and just 15 minutes from order to ready for take away. The owner Helen is a really nice person to chat with while waiting. We are coming back!

Please don't go to this takeaway , its dreadful . There is nothing crispy about the chicken balls , infact they are more like chicken fingers with a stodgy batter . I have Chinese dishes regular and was drawn in by the reviews . But please give this a wide berth because its shockingly bad . The spring roll is the size of a meat loaf , not wrapped in a filo type pastry but the same batter as the chicken .

i used this chinese takeaway twice while on holiday at Littlesea holiday park and the food was lovely! quite pricey compared to the ones near me but well worth it.

We had a a delivery from this takeaway and wasn’t particularly impressed with the food quality. The sweet and sour chicken in batter was over cooked on the outside and just about right on the inside. Almost like they had been re heated. Also they tasted strongly of old oil. However it was a large portion and would be enough for two.

We were on holiday in Weymouth and the decision was made to order a Chinese takeaway. Wasn't sure where to go but saw that this placed had the best consistent reviews although there were only two, plus I loved the name.

We like Hel's Kitchen the food they cooked is always hot and is spot on they have a range of dishes to suit all tastes, whenever we have asked for something else like the chicken curry to be extra hot it has never been a problem all at great prices and they deliver too.

Ordered a takeaway to the campsite and it was so fast, cheap and delicious!! Massive food portions, and really friendly staff! Great way to warm up after a windy rainy day!

It was a short break for me and my family. As we were walking along the street wondering what to have for our dinner,we saw a Chinese takeaway, they were busy already with some people waiting and ordering food.So,we then went inside ordered some food for the 4 of us. We had the dragon platter which have different variety of starters.we had chicken balls,beef dish .special noodles and the special rice . The whole family enjoyed it very much! We have had many Chinese food before and this one was one of the best! If you want Chinese food in Weymouth, from my experience , go to Hel's kitchen.

Went to littlesea holiday park for a weekend trip and found this take away very close by only about a mile away, Excellent food especially loved their chicken balls and dragon platter. Definitely recommend this place!

Brilliant food . Super friendly and prices are very fair ! Best one locally . Ordered sweet and sour chicken and chicken and black bean and was very tasteful and big portions. Will definitely go back here again !
