A & J Kebab House in Weymouth and Portland

My partner got a mixed large kebab last night and I'd say an old small. Stingy to say the least!! Won't be going back ever rubbish!!!

Tried to order a takeout very rude on phone said they couldn’t deliver to us as couldn’t find our address so they lost £40 order then they put the phone down on us

We ordered dinner and an hour went past. After nothing an hour we decided to call them and were assured the delivery was on its way. After abit later we were able to get in touch with the delivery driver who told us he’s dropped it on our door step. However this was not the case as nobody came to the door and we knew this as we have a ring door bell. We were accused of lying and that it had been delivered. He then realised it’s been dropped to the wrong address. It was then collect and brought to us after another 45 minutes. After finally arriving it was stone cold as expected so we turned it away and asked for a refund. We were told a refund would be issued back to us and we’re now a month later and no refund has been received. In my mind it’s a disgrace of a company and I wouldn’t advise anyone to go to this shambles of a kebab house and especially not to order a thing from them. Will not be using ever again.

Best kebab house in Weymouth, would highly recommend, great service, brilliant atmosphere great tasting food and the staff are friendly, again, would highly recommend!

Very good meals and flavours, testy kabobs and services.

Over priced considering you get a meal that would be lucky to feed a child, not to mention the food poisoning. Save yourself the trouble and cook / order something else, your stomach and wallet will thank you.

We love this place, they make their own flat bread, kofta and lamb shish kebab as are always a winner.

Ordered online. Food never arrived Money taken from my account. No answer on their phone number. Never order again

I’ve just read all the bad reviews…….I certainly didn’t experience any of this and if I’m honest…..at 42 years of age, this is the first time I’ve watts kebab sober and actually enjoyed it! Last weekend was my first time getting food from here. A kebab isn’t my normal first choice of takeaway but it was a convenient choice for me. I was very much impressed, it was all cooked well, tasty great and everything was fresh. I’ve a decent appetite and it left me full….i ordered a mixed shish kebab with a side of chips. My kids ate the chips and all said how good they were. Next time I’m looking for a sober kebab I’ll definitely return!

Pizza smelt and tasted like soap chips was nice thou didn’t have no Pepsi so had to have 7 up

Don’t be fooled by the story of the oldest kebab shop in Weymouth the only thing old about this shop is there food cold rubbery and flavourless awful food. Better shop across the road 10 times better called WEYMOUTH KEBABS across the road

We ordered 2 large kebabs & Chips and Doner meat the bill came to £38 when we received our food I wasn’t sure if they were trying to feed under 5 year olds but there was hardly any meat in our kebabs. I called them and the chap on the end of the phone was not even dealing with me properly he just kept saying he has sent the food but I couldn’t get through to him that yes we received the food but there was hardly anything in the kebab eventually I just hung up as there was no talking to him. I would really advise you not to use this place the customer service is disgusting and the food portions are a joke BEWARE YOU’V BEEN WARNED. very unsatisfied customer photo attached just to show you what your money gets you.

The food was awful and ridiculously overpriced for what you get and the people serving was rude when I asked for more curry sauce on my chips after I paid £6 for it

Tonight 2/6/24 just drove from home to get a kebab. We usually use ajs on portland. But as this has closed we decided to use weymouth. Never again service bloody awful . Food was awful. Have never ever had such rude service like what we got tonight. Hygiene was non existence. Customer service was awful. Wish now we had gone across the Rd to weymouth kebab house .

Very nice mixed large kebab 4 stars as was on the cold side but very nice first time of trying and was delivered within 20mins which is good. Update just had other kebab 31st December was awful donner meat and chips more like chips with no donner on and for 11 pounds what a joke

Clean, efficient with friendly staff and a great delivery service which is fast. Food is best in Weymouth.

By far the best takeaway in Weymouth food is absolutely amazing considering that I work away five days a week up and down the country Weymouth definitely has the best kebab house around a&j kebab house highly recommended taking the food and the next level very much appreciated food for the week that I've been down there absolutely amazing all the best Steve thanks again

Saturday evening kebab treat. Ordered the house special with all the trimmings online , to collect and pay for. Walked into town but they hadn't started the order. Had 10 minutes on the seafront while they sorted it out. They threw in some extra flat breads as an apology. Got home and the food was great. Nicely cooked, tender chicken ,lamb and Donner meat. Plenty for the pair of us. Good value. Will eat again.

I use A & J on a regular basis. For me it's one of the best tasting I've had, they clearly use the better quality doner meats. Lamb & chicken are both very good. The kofta is excellent. Highly recommended👍

Nice kebab but the guys working there were furious. I was going to ask if they were ok but thought better of it.

This was our second visit to Weymouth in past 4 years, so it also meant second (and then a cheeky third) visit to this place, as it ruined lamb shish kebabs for me at home after the first time and I couldn't eat them here anymore, after tasting a properly freshly cooked one at your place. You still got it, I will wait another 4 years if needed for a fresh lamb shish 🤣 kofte was great too! Oh, and fresly baked breads/wraps is an outstanding idea, tasted so good! I would also like to answer to comments I've seen here about pizzas real quick - if you go to a kebab place and order a pizza, why do you complain it wasn't the best pizza you ever had? Of course it wasn't, it's a kebab shop. There's plenty of pizza places around the area, maybe try there?.. Back to you - was very good to see you guys still open and run by same people I believe, the "no tomatoes please - so extra tomatoes then?" joke jogged a memory i didn't know i had, pretty sure it went very similarly 4 years ago. Best of luck to you, guys, we will be back!

On here says closes at 12am rushed down and got there at 11.40 to find them closed and to be honest looked like they had been closed a while if shouldn't operate if can't even provide correct opening times disgusted

Walked in and order cheese burger coke and chips the guys in there was so polite and they even given me fork to eat my chips with 10/10 if u want quick bite I shall be returning again well done 👏👏

Bought the chicken kebab wrap. It beat me, couldn't finish it. Well tasty.

I ordered large chips £3.50 large cheese and chips £5 and 10 chicken nuggets. Cost £13.50p. I asked how they got to £13.50 .Apparently 10 nuggets cost £5! Not only that..the large chips turned out to be a small portion and the cheese and chips were cold. The cheese also had black bits in it and tasted awful. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants decent food at a fair price. If you want to feel ripped off and still hungry then check them out. If I could give no stars then that would be too many. One star is flattering.

Rubbish. Meat was cold maybe it had been sitting in tray for hours. Won't be going back.

The best pizza in town, great kebabs and very friendly service

I have ordered Mexican Pizza, which clearly states beef. I had called the restaurant in advanced and they confirmed that it was beef. However when it was delivered, I almost threw up with reaction of stale,cheap HAM! (pork). I called the restaurant they confirmed it was ham, even though the menu said beef, I ordered beef, they confirmed it was beef. Deliberate act of disregard or choice, allergy or dietary requirements.

Soggy horrible onion rings and extremely rude on the phone. Will never ever order from these again. Maybe it's because I'm a woman and they feel they can talk to me like a peice od dirt!!!!

Definitely think the kebabs have gone down the hill, starting using nan bread and the salad is not up to what it used to be using coleslaw and tomatoes not as fresh very disappointing. Weymouth Kebab House takes the top rating. Sorry AJ need to get back in the game, alright when you've had a pint or 10

My mum gave him £9, he tried to convince her multiple times that she gave him £8. She's 50, imagine if she was an older lady. Scummy business practice, avoid. Hate businesses like that, so rude.

A & J worst kebab. Absolutely explosive diarrhoea instantly upon consumption of my chicken kebab. Think that chicken was cooked pre Cold war. Wouldn't even give the chips to seagulls, awful. Nicest Part of this experience was leaving. A & J- Awful and Jredful.

Supermarket pizzas at an extremely expensive price. seriously this is no joke. All 6 of us said at the same time we would rather eat a pizza from Tesco's. Base is too thin and chewy, toppings are bare like dominoes pizzas, and the delivery cost is 5 pounds!!!!! That is outrageous those delivery drivers must be driving around in a Ferrari to be charging them rates. Would never order from here again, I bet they buy supermarket pizzas and warm them all day long until they sell. 3 9" pizzas cost me £31.50 I could of got the same pizzas from Tesco's for £4.50 which is still less than just the delivery cost alone.

Ordered food to be delivered on just eat. They Sent to the wrong house. Not even the wrong house but other side of Weymouth. Tried calling but no one would pick up the phone. If your looking to order to eat something don't bother if your ordering to waste money and not get anything in return this is the place to go.

Always brilliant. Tasty and fresh whatever you have. We normally have kebabs and pizzas which are the best but tonight had wraps, absolutely delicious and the jacket potato was very tasty and full of cheese. Salad exceptional as always nice surprise to have red cabbage. Highly recommend.

I AM SO DISGUSTED WITH THIS PLACE. NEVER BUY FROM THEM! I accidently "apprently" preordered some food from the Just Eat app. (KEEP IN MIND WE ORDER FROM THEM ATLEAST EVERY OTHER DAY). We are extremely loyal customers. The driver turns up and 4pm the next day. I said im sorry there has been a mistake i did not order this, they went on to insist i preordered it. Somethjng i didnt even know i could do over the app... as a loyal customer i called them. First of all, about 3 different people including the dlivery driber lied to me about being the manager. So i have no idea what manager i actually spoke too. In the end i spoke to an English guy Craig who apologised massively and said he would refund me (like all the other managers "did"). He was so apologetic and told me he had disciplined the guy who spoke to me so badly... Anyway, a few days later i decided to forget it and move on. I tried to order from them again. They declined my order. I called and asked why and its because they dont want "that sort of trouble again"... Furious is an understatement.

Came down to weymouth from oxford and I've never had food like it absolutely delicious burgers were bang on chips and cheese well let's say you get a lot for the cheap price it's even better then my favourite kebab shop in great yarmouth keep up the good work gents

The best kebab I've ever had. They were that good I ordered 2 and took them all the way back to Bristol for my tea! Their chili sauce is also lush!

One burger was burnt and the other really chewwy, the chips tasted like they were prepaid hours ago and had no seasoning , delivery time was okay though

Fantastic as always. Chicken Kebab always fresh and full of meat and salad but also tried the pizza today and was really impressed. Unlike other kebab places where have tried their pizzas and have been enjoyable but not really hitting the mark this one held up to the better known specialist pizza takeaway. Base was crispy good amount of crust. It was packed with topping and was soft in the middle. Thoroughly enjoyed. Noreally have a veggie burgers whichave is also very good and us always freshly cooked.

absolutely disgusting found black hairs in pizza food was cold and a very rude manager who has not got a clue about customer service silly little man.will never eat from this filthy place again,i would stay well clear from this place
