Called in for lunch on a wet, miserable Sunday. Didn't intend having a full on roast but they looked so good we felt we should try them. We weren't disappointed. We went for the standard size ( you could have a small appetites one or a two meats one for less or more money) and I opted for beef whereas husband chose the pork. The meals came pretty quickly seeing as the place was full up. We hadn't booked but it seemed like many people do as lots of the tables had reserved signs on. Our meats were excellent and the plates piled high with veggies - cabbage, carrots, Swede and parsnips plus roast potatoes of course. Lots of all of them but they could've done with being a bit hotter (roast spuds were very hot but the other veg weren't). Husband had plenty of gravy on his pork but my meal was very dry, just a bit of gravy in the Yorkshire pudding, none on the rest of the plate which made it a bit of a struggle to get through. I'll be brave another time and ask nicely if I can please have some gravy but they were busy at this time so I didn't want to be a pain.

The BEST Sunday roast in Weymouth!! Whilst on holiday we tried several restaurants in Weymouth town centre (what a dive of a destination these days) and gave up as the ones on the quay were way too busy and we wondered why the others had NO-ONE in them, so we gave up on Weymouth and headed back to Poole only to find Goulds Garden Centre and simply the best Sunday roast dinner we've had in a long time. Dog-friendly area as well.

Excellent service with a smile. My daughter and I sat outside in the sunshine to enjoy a pot of tea and cream teas ( one sweet and one savoury). Both were very nice the sweet fruit scone being served with butter jam and clotted cream and the savoury cheese scone being served with butter cream cheese and chutney. Very nice. Our pot of tea for 2 was sufficient for 2 cups each . It was hot and served in nice china with plenty of milk should you need it. No complaints . We are regulars at the garden centre and often pop in for a cuppa and a treat . It's not a bad price the food is good and the setting including the the toilets are clean

My wife and I dropped in to the excellent Goulds Garden Centre this morning, having not been there for a few years - although we live not too far away. It was a pleasure to walk around the neatly laid out plants etc but also a delight to enter the restaurant alongside. Everything there was clean and tidy too - from tables to toilets and the behind-the-counter staff were very helpful and cheerful while taking our order which was supplied perfectly to our chosen table.

Lovely atmotphere and staff, new Dog friendly restaurant counter in the Dog Friendly Cafe part (go to main part and keep going or ask staff if unsure) which is really refreshing so can be inside or out with our dog. Dog friendly ice cream and beautiful Dorset Apple cake, we will be back for a great looking menu. We visited a few years ago and it’s clear a lot of work has been done to make this a really nice area to eat as well as shop. Thank you to the lady who pointed us towards the dog friendly cafe part, as we had a much nicer experience not feeling shut in a corner or out with no shelter like so many cafe’s do. Lovely food and place.

Popped in here with my parents for lunch. We sat outside as it was a muggy day. There was plenty of space with just one other couple outside with their dog (its dog friendly outside). You do get little birds such as sparrows & robins looking for food but they don't bother you. We did have to queue to order but we were only waiting a couple of minutes. I had the Ploughmans, Mum had the Hunters Chicken & Dad had the Quiche. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time considering they were quite busy & it was well presented. The food portions were very generous with me & my mum not being able to finish our meals. During our lunch a member of staff did come back & ask if everything was OK with our meal. I found staff to be very friendly during our visit here & we thought the food was very good value for money. We would quite happily visit here again.

On a friend’s recommendation we stopped here for a quick sandwich lunch. There were plenty of tables, inside and out, and a special dog friendly area. There was a queue to order which wasn’t surprising at 1 o’clock but it took me nearly 20 mins to finally order and pay. The staff were friendly but there did seem to be an awful lot of chat behind the counter about the number of portions left and signs to be changed etc etc when people were clearly getting a little bit fed up of standing and waiting. Thankfully our sandwiches were brought out to us quickly and were nicely presented and enjoyable.

Thought we’d try this cafe instead of our usual cafe, safe to say we won’t be returning. £9 omelette with side salad ordered, and what can best be described as a two layered microwaved omelette with a cheese square in the middle turned up. It was more like Salad with a side of small omelette looking at the size of the dish. Wouldn’t have minded too much, but after paying £9, I was very surprised at the low quality and lack of presentation. Then after ordering chips as a side, a whole potato was in the middle, just sitting there at the bottom like it was hiding out as the chip king. I have to say though, the staff were so nice and were very friendly to chat to.

The “9 item” cost £6.25Pot of Tea £1.75Total £8.00. Would've been cheaper with a mug of tea - but trust me, you need a full pot with to wash this brekky down. The service was good. Outside queing with a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. I sat outdoors, in the sun. The whole place was clean and tidy.Service was taken within a couple of minutes of sitting down. I ordered a pot of tea and a 9 item breakfast. The options were 5, 7 or 9 items, catering for all appetites, but i quickly worked out that a 9 item was one of everything on the menu. Big pot of tea arrived shortly after order. I like a pot as you can control the strength and there was enough for 3.5 cups of tea. Enough for before, during and after brekky. The breakfast arrived promptly, just as I was about to finish my first brew. This is a lovely looking plate. Big and imposing but with elegance. Passes the eye test. I took a deep breath and tucked in to my first bite. Sausage - like a lonely man on tinder, single. You could easily substitute an additional banger in for something you didn't want if that bothers you. Indeed, I guess you could order 9 sausages in the 9 item. I don't like a posh sausage so this did the job, decent pork sausage. Happy.Bacon - 2 this time, which means you could technically order 18 rashers to make up your 9 item. Tempting. These rashers were crispy, without going dry, which is no mean feat. Very enjoyable.Egg. Only one egg, which is fine. Sunny side up adds to the aesthetics, and really set the plate off with that glowing yolk. I placed it onto my fried bread and popped it, but not much came out. Unfortunately this one was ever so slightly over. By seconds. The only dissapointment of the meal.Mushrooms - I love mushrooms. Cooked in butter I think. Tasty. Fried bread - i love fried bread. This was so thick, and deep fried tasty. Greasy, yes. But thats the beauty of fried bread!Beans - moist, nice. Hash Brown - deep fried. How much better are deep fried hashes than those oven cooked ones. Beautiful. Tomatoes - being a garden centre, i think these were home grown. Lovely and sweet. I prefer mine under the grill a bit longer.Toast - so thick, with extra butter which I used all of. A beautiful bloomer was used. Couldnt finish the last tiny bit, because I was so full. Overall - 8/10. - fantastic Breakfast. I love the choice and 'build your own' style. The only noticeable absentee was black pudding, which I was surprised at.Would go back, a real treat if youre hungry, as its a little carb heavy (2x hash browns, 2x Fried bread, massive toast). lovely setting with views, and the BYO style was a bonus. With my mum having a special birthday coming up, on a previous visit here I reserved a table. You can reserve a table on a week day but not weekend. This is a very popular cafe, part of Goulds garden centre. I phoned the day before to check reservation and to up the number of people. On arrival the table was all set with red paper table covers , cutlery, paper napkins and glasses. A staff member greeted us and said he would bring us jugs of water. We also ordered other drinks and when we were ready they took our food order. Usually you order and pay at the counter. I asked if we could keep the bill open, as I was treating my mum, family members and family friends. We were all there to celebrate my mums special birthday. They told us this would be easier if they came to the table to take our order. This made it a whole lot easier for us and more relaxing. Our food was served very quick. All our meals were lovely. We took our own birthday cake, they kept this until we were ready and supplied us with a knife to cut and plates to serve. Nothing was too much trouble for staff. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. One member of staff even took a group photo for us. I can't fault the amazing service. Our visit was really lovely and relaxing. We love visiting The Shed because the staff and food is brilliant - but 95% of the time, we know we are going to have to wait far too long, for staff just to take our order. It seems to us, the exact same issue with a local Sainsburys café, near to us in another county, in that the person taking the orders, also has to stop this, turn around and make teas/coffees or whatever. We would've thought this not very hygienic, in handling customers cash and then dealing with food & drinks. The main problem is the waiting - a little while ago, the excuse was it was a new till and staff had to be trained. That time has passed, the staff are always pleasant, it's the management that should be re-organising the set-up, or have just one member of staff dealing with the orders alone and when the queue is not there,(not very often) that person can wipe tables etc.

A BLT in brown baguette was brimming over with bacon and the slaw and salad a nice extra. Twice or was it thrice cooked chips were a taste buds delight. My partners Coronation chicken sandwich in brown was also full of flavour and trying to escape the bread. The let down was the watery supposedly thick strawberry milkshake which with apologies was remade thicker but was still warm and unappetising. Should have gone for the deluxe chocolate shake for one of our group where the spoon stood up. The cafe was full and is an obvious regular treat for locals stocking up on gardening produce and the food coming out of the kitchen all looked good. The down side was the queue to get served. Table service would be perfect.

So arrived to the shed cafe, when going in to the cafe it was quite busy so looked like a good sign but still quite a few tables spare this was about 2:00 pm. We were waiting in the que for about 5 minutes. when getting to the cashier she informed us that they ran out of baguettes. they had none, so we opted to ask if we could have a sandwich but no bread again. so I inquired if there was any food available. she said all they had was chips and it was bit of a wait. so we decided to just have drinks my step dad wanted a cold drink but the drinks in the fridge were warm. the coffee machine was filthy with stale milk splattered all over the back of it. so my mum and I thought we would try a milk shake. when receiving the milk shakes there was loads of bits of powder still inside it so when you took a sip all you could taste was the powder . Not good. I understand it is half term but they should be prepared especially were it was only 2pm and they had a few more hours open.

Have been here on several occasions and have been pleased with the service and food on all occasions. They have a gluten free menu which is very good and the Cakes are all individually wrapped. The only down side to the GF menu is no bread for toast, there are only rolls. The non gluten free menu is extremely varied and the portions are huge. The staff are very polite and helpful. Would recommend.

A garden centre cafe? Don’t jump to any conclusions...Scrummy humongous breakfasts, perfectly poached eggs, doorstep hunks of bread and good coffee. Super efficient service and accommodating staff who served us items that were not on the scheduled menu for the time we visited. Worth a detour even if you don’t visit the garden centre!

Have visited this garden centre and cafe before but have only had a cup of coffee in the cafe. Decided to try their roast chicken dinner, they also do roast beef. The price is very reasonable at £8.50 and for £12.99 you can have a roast dinner, pudding and a drink. The portions are very generous, lovely and hot and are served on a hot dinner plate. Particularly liked this as the food stays hot from start to finish. The service is very good and staff are very friendly. I will certainly eat here again. I highly recommend this cafe plus it's nice to look round the garden centre as well

I took an elderly friend here today for lunch. The restaurant is very welcoming: clean, airy, and good staff. Food was excellent: I had cheese, ham and mushroom omelette and my friend had jacket with prawns - helpings were most generous, and food was piping hot. We had tea for two - which came in a proper tea pot. Excellent value for money.

We popped in at the last minute on Sunday on the off chance of getting a Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed. My partner only fancied a jacket potato but I plumped for the full roast dinner. What amazing value for money it was. For just £8.50 I got roast turkey, a stuffing ball, chunky sausage wrapped in bacon, roast potatoes, new potatoes, cauliflower, cabbage & carrots plus plenty of gravy. It was beautifully cooked, piping hot & tasty. Needless to say I will be coming here again.

We went here for lunch whist visiting the Garden Centre. A really lovely and clean café with a good selection on the menu also specials. As a party of 3 we visited and had lunch, all different selections from the menu and all delicious and competitively priced. Not a long wait for meals to arrive even though quite busy. One other good point is the free WiFi. also to note is the clean toilets. We will certainly return.

This is my second visit to The Shed and I wasn't disappointed, the smoothie was really creamy and the Spanish Omelette was lovely! The only criticism I have is that the salad with the omelette came with pasta... I'm gluten intolerant and so it would have been good if it had been specified on the menu. However, it was taken away and removed... I was told to next time to ask for it to be removed, this is difficult if it is not specified on the menu to begin with. The previous time I was her I had the Jacket potato, the potion size is excellent and there is a great selection of fillings to choose from. I will definitely be making another trip there again.

I have visited this cafe before and have been happy with the food and service unfortunately on this occasion we were very disappointed. We had decided to take advantage of the tea and cake offer but when we arrived apart from one all the cake on offer was pre wrapped slices not what we wanted. The one exception we were told was a lemon cake sadly it was neither lemon flavoured nor cake like. It was nearly Inedible it was so crumbly and it tasted of very little we were very disappointed. The tea was fine and the staff very cheerful and friendly but when you go for a treat you expect it to be that and this wasn't.

Excellent place for breakfast e.g. bacon and egg roll especially if it's on special offer. Later in the day the home cooked lunches are good - and I'm told excellent cakes. Good value

Not one table was clear of cutlery and rubbish. Service was painfully slow. It's understaffed and people were having to clear their own tables and it wasn't even packed. Very disappointing as came here last year and was much better. Glad it isnt height of summer it would be covered with flies.

Afternoon tea started at 2.30 pm. We had the High Tea costing £8.95 which included a bottomless teapot, a selection of sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and a selection of small cakes. The food is cooked on site and the scones were delicious. The lady was very attentive, she kept asking if everything was OK and bringing fresh tea. We could not eat everything so she gave us a couple of plastic boxes to take home the cakes. Excellent value for money. It really brightened up a wet Saturday afternoon.

Went for Sunday Roast beef on 27/10/24 excellent. Loved the work they put into the exhibit in the garden for Halloween. Been going to the wishing well every time me & my wife visit Dorset. Staff are always so friendly.😍

Went there for lunch and me and my friend decided on the king prawns with lime and chilli with chips and garlic bread for £18 . They were busy but it arrived about 45 min Later , the presentation was amazing , however the sauce was very very oily and tasteless .. the whole thing had no flavour , we were very disappointed. The chips were fab and so was the garlic bread . It was such a shame . Also we had no napkins or wet wipes given to us , so it was a messy eat , don’t know if I’d return and Im A local x

I found Daniel's Chickerell the day I moved in to my new home in June 2021, looking for a quick takeaway chippy. What a find! Really excellent food. The portions and range of food is great, well cooked and the staff are efficient and friendly. Since then my family have always had our fish and chips from here. I've also used the Littlemoor shop and it's the same there. Daniels is my go-to chippy always.
