Great little pub, nicely laid out and is located off the main shopping route. Service with a smile as always. The misses and I all go in the 'The Wellington' when ever we visited Weymouth. The misses loves their roast dinner. On our last visit, I had a brunch and beer and she had a roast dinner(told ya,lol) and vodka and coke

Well, firstly the table was so sticky I could have waxed my legs off them for free. We had gone for a roast but my 5 year old got the pasta - he accidentally dropped a bit of garlic bread (like gold to him) and they wouldn't replace it... obviously they're entitled to refuse but for an upset 5 year old?? The roast I ordered came doused in gravy which I hate - they didn't ask, and neither did we so assumptions all around - but when I asked for a replacement they, again, refused which I find unacceptable. I ended up buying a whole new one as the family were already eating - and it wasn't worth the plate it was on. The veggies had never even been introduced to salt, everything had been microwaved to death and the potatoes were so tough I literally couldn't cut through them. Just to top off a miserable experience my mum tried to help clear so the kids wouldn't knock stuff over, only to be told off by the server! I can't comment on the desserts - we were all so disappointed and annoyed we skipped it altogether. Never again!

Went to wellington arms today on a bank holiday Monday because we all love a roast dinner . Wellington arms do roasts daily as single person I find this service brilliant and pop in time today alone . Today my family of 8 from Plymouth wanted a roast . Being local it wasn’t hard to know it’s the Wellington . Staff are brilliant food is brilliant. Thank you for accommodating us today . High chairs available and no trouble to heat baby food . Toilets spotless . Sensible prices . I recommend.

Myself and a few friends have regularly used this lovely pub for meals and drinks for the past few years. The food quality is always consistently good and is extremely good value. To date none of us have had a bad meal and we have eaten there a lot of times. To achieve that level of consistency is superb. The staff are friendly and professional. The beer is kept well and there is a good choice including wines and spirits. However avoid going in on a Saturday night as a group of locals are so loud, conversation is not possible and marrs the whole atmosphere. Apart from that a great place

Booked a table in advance as it’s summer holiday season and cruise ship in port. Warm welcome with friendly smiles. Table and seating area clean and ready for service. Excellent pint of Directors Beer (2 pint’s actually) and a nice Malbec. Food was well presented. Didn’t have a long wait even though it was getting busy. One was the lunch light bites with a smaller main plus starter the other a nice medium rump with all the trimmings. The mushroom starter for one was enough for two! Friendly service throughout. Very clean and well decorated toilets. Will certainly visit again.

Great disappointment. 3rd February, 2024. I used to come here forty years ago when I was sixteen so thought I’d visit again. I took my 78 year old mother there for a quick drink. She has a Brussels Griffin dog who is tiny. My mum sat down at a table. I wasn’t impressed by the barmaid who seemed more interested in larking about with an older guy called Alan. I ordered two drinks. She then turned and looked at my mum and asked if she had a dog. I was very tempted to be sarcastic at that point and reply no, a dinosaur. I was then told that the pub didn’t accept dogs so I replied I couldn’t have the drinks then. We left. It was ridiculous. I couldn’t see a sign on the door saying no dogs. Weymouth is a very dog friendly place and so I don’t see what the problem was. We went to the White Hart instead, again a place I’ve been going to for forty years. They had dog treats and everything out for customers. The Wellington lost out on about eight pounds all for a ridiculous policy and a barmaid who, if she had been paying attention from the start, could have said no more politely.

The fish portion was exceptionally small for it to been deemed a 'regular' size in our opinion. Both our portions of fish would have made a regular sized fillet elsewhere. My partner jested he's had eaten bigger fish fingers and at how pleased he was that he hadn't ordered us both a smaller portion! It was more like chips with a side fish. We both felt ripped off at paying over £22 for 2 'regular' fish and chips, to receive a child's portion. Other than the size of the fish, it was cooked to perfection, thin crispy batter. The chips were not under cooked or soggy, nice and chunky, very few little, scrappy chips and they tasted really nice. Both members of staff were polite and very efficient.

Called in for lunch on a wet, miserable Sunday. Didn't intend having a full on roast but they looked so good we felt we should try them. We weren't disappointed. We went for the standard size ( you could have a small appetites one or a two meats one for less or more money) and I opted for beef whereas husband chose the pork. The meals came pretty quickly seeing as the place was full up. We hadn't booked but it seemed like many people do as lots of the tables had reserved signs on. Our meats were excellent and the plates piled high with veggies - cabbage, carrots, Swede and parsnips plus roast potatoes of course. Lots of all of them but they could've done with being a bit hotter (roast spuds were very hot but the other veg weren't). Husband had plenty of gravy on his pork but my meal was very dry, just a bit of gravy in the Yorkshire pudding, none on the rest of the plate which made it a bit of a struggle to get through. I'll be brave another time and ask nicely if I can please have some gravy but they were busy at this time so I didn't want to be a pain.
