Ageist I asked for a flatliner cocktail. I made the mistake of suggesting the tabasco should go second and not last as it sits in the middle of the drink. For that i was told i should leave and I will not be served again. 30 mins later I was told I would not be served.

Called in just as the bar had opened. Fantastic bar in a fantastic location. Vast choice of cocktails with no nonsense, no gimmicky pricing. Can see it becoming very popular as the nights progress. We only has the two cocktails because circumstances dictated. Could easily have sat there most of the night and indulged further. Bar man was very customer orientated.

I’ve visited this cocktail bar a few times, most recently last month June 2023. Fairly small inside, but they also have an outdoor area at the front of the bar with tables. Really nice atmosphere in the evening and right by the beach. Good selection of cocktails. Staff were friendly and the barman even coped with my random request for a “blue cocktail”! Definitely would return.

Last night I had a cosmopolitan and then ordered a vodka martini and the barman said "For f**'s sake... look behind you, there are a lot of people waiting" and refused to make it. Made me feel like I was bothering him for ordering a cocktail. In a cocktail bar. Unpleasant experience. Cracking music but that encounter with rude staff left a nasty taste.

Back down in Weymouth, sorry to say we ended up in the Nook. Bouncer looked like he'd just been to a funeral, £24 for 3 double G+Ts (Beefeater, nothing fancy), sat down then some miserable-looking guy came over and said "You're going to have to move". "Why?" I asked, given that I'd just paid the best part of £25 for 3 mediocre drinks. "Coz the dance floor is opening up" followed by a hard stare and an eye roll. Well here's a newflash mate, you're right, I'm an absolute idiot for expecting to be able to enjoy drinks I've just bought at a seat near an almost-empty dance floor. Some decent northern soul but honestly, so loud, all you could see was people yelling into each other's ears to try and communicate. We downed our drinks sharpish and left everyone else to wallow in the enforced "vibe" and headed somewhere better.

I am sorry to have to report on the criminal and breathtakingly rude service I received from this establishment last weekend. Attending with three friends, I placed an order at the bar for two lagers and two gin and tonics. The payment was processed immediately before the drinks arrived and as the bar was crowded, I didn’t think twice about paying £23.90 by touch payment in advance on the terminal which was handed to me. One pint of lager duly arrived but nothing else. I called to the barman to address the issue and he duly ignored me. Eventually I managed to raise his attention, to explain the issue (of which he seemed oblivious) and showing obvious annoyance, he managed to track down one of the gin and tonics which he had helpfully placed at the other end of the bar from me. When I explained that this still left me a lager and a gin and tonic short, he grabbed the G&T right out of my hands and angrily threw it on the floor, then proceeded to call the bouncers and had us ejected from the club. Tragically, at this point, the one drink I had managed to salvage from the unfortunate situation (my pint of lager) was also lost as I was not allowed to take it outside. Naturally by now we were somewhat frustrated (and thirsty) so we called for the duty manager who duly arrived and we explained the situation to him. He went to speak to the barman concerned and came back out completely taking his side, refusing even to refund the money that I had tendered for the drinks and yet not received. Luckily, I paid by credit card, so I will be issuing a chargeback in due course, but for anyone considering a drink here, my advice would be to make sure you receive your drinks well in advance of payment. The barmen (supported by the manager) are extremely rude and dishonest.

This is a great little place if you like your cocktails freshly made the proper way by skilled mixologists (as opposed to snip and pour varieties!). The care and pride taken to create their excellent cocktails means a little wait. But you won't be disappointed! Whilst Covid restrictions mean no dancing or ordering at the bar, if you're desperate for a drink pronto, maybe order a spirit and mixer at the same time as your cocktail, to have while you wait for the skilled work to happen. Great place! Thank you! Will be back!

What is the point in having doormen on the Nook who demoralise women? Absolute shambles of a bar - the ‘security’ need to respect the rights of women rather than prioritise the feelings of a self entitled stranger. Completely disgusted in the treatment I’ve received this evening from a man of supposed authority. I hope that The Nook takes reasonable action in this and respects the rights of women - I expect however I will be disappointed.

Called in here in the early evening on the way back from a walk round the harbour. I can't say I was overly impressed with the place. When I went in there was no one to be seen for quite some time and the only customers were sat outside. Eventually a member of staff appeared and I got served. I have to say that the cider is excellent. As it was a nice evening I thought I'd take my drink outside and watch the world go by. Apart from the traffic there is a good view of the bay but I did find the seats rather to high as they are as high has the tables. Uncomfortable for someone as tall as me so must be really bad for the smaller person.

We stopped here as we saw they had 2 for £10 on cocktails. I had two Mai Tai and my partner had two Piña Colada’s. The drink selection is huge and there are so many different bottles at the bar and has a nice atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Used to come here quite a lot, and not had any issues however recently it seems to have gone downhill slightly. It took half an hour to be served at the bar. The bartender started serving us, then said that someone else had been waiting longer so stopped and started serving them. The other bartender, rather than serve us, went to someone who had just walked in. The making of the drinks went on for what seemed like forever - with lots of bottle dropping and missing. The bartender (making someone else’s drink) got lime everywhere, including on us. The prices are expensive which is fine when the service and drinks are good, but that wasn’t the case!

Was having a lovely evening with a friend until a group of very drunk girls came in (one of which I was informed was the manager). They were bullying and abusive and on standing up to them I was informed "you'll have to leave she's the manager". Absolutely shocking. Last time I ordered a bloody Mary they put a double shot of port in it for no reason at all, to which I said that was wrong and wouldn't be drinking it and got a really awful attitude in return! There's a real culture of "we're right you're wrong" in there which is not exactly welcoming!

Asked the barman for a dark and stormy, halfway through making the drink I realised the barman was using Havana rum instead of Goslings Black Seal which is the signature rum for this drink. When I pointed this out to the barman he explained that this is policy if the correct rum isn't available. I explained to the barman that he should have informed me first that he didn't have the correct rum instead of assuming I would be happy to pay for the incorrect drink. The barman conversed with the head barman / manager who came across and unloaded a torrent of abuse and said he wouldn't serve me. I explained that you can't have a drink on your menu and then serve a totally incorrect cocktail, the whole point of a dark and stormy is to use Goslings Black Seal. The manager was again incredibly rude and also ill informed about making a basic cocktail, instead of apologising he became incredibly defensive and again refused to serve me.

I first went to the nook last year with my girlfriend and a few friends and it was amazing the staff were lovely and the drinks were spot on, I have returned to Weymouth this year with some new friends and decided to show them a good night at the nook as I really enjoyed it last year, but to my surprise the place has been taken under new management and I was not happy. Firstly the manager must have some sort of bad attitude problem as he was very rude to me and my girlfriend within the first 5 minutes of being there but we brushed it off and carried on with our night then we decided to have a second drink at which point we returned to the bar only to find the manager verbally abusing his staff to make himself look better to his friends. My girlfriend had a Cosmo and I felt there was no vodka in but didn't want to complain as she didn't want any trouble for our group with the manager. Ifeel ashamed to have taken my friends here after telling them that the place was so amazing, I will not be coming back to the nook and if something doesn't change with the management I feel that the business will not survive.

Generally the Nook is a good place to go for soul music and a great atmosphere late in the evening. However, on two separate occasions I have had my drink removed while visiting the toilet. The 1st time it happened I put it down to experience, now I am very angry. There is a small area near the bar where people can sit and chat. Apparently it is "club policy to remove any drinks that are left unattended, even if its for 3 minutes while you are in the loo. Last night 5 drinks were taken from this area and after complaining to the manager I was encouraged to buy more. In future I will take a hip flask!Stayed February 2017

Well we went to the Nook yesterday afternoon for cocktails as we were celebrating my friends birthday we all bought a cocktail coming to around £70 for all of us which the manager was quite happy to accept our money but as soon as we had paid for the drinks his attitude changed we asked if he could turn the music up by a notch as we couldn't hear it and his response was 'how about I put you all on pubwatch and you not be allowed in any other bar in Weymouth? How about that instead?' All of this for putting the music up by 1 notch? His customer service was disgusting and completely uncalled for. We were the only people in the bar turning it up 1 notch would not have hurt anyone you couldn't hear the music at the volume it was currently at and that's the response he gave. I will never set foot in this bar again and advise anyone else not too either, don't waste your money like we did.

5 of us went into the nook for some lunch and cocktails. The chairs/seats were incredibly uncomfortable we cut our stay very short. We couldn't eat our overpriced lunch properly because the tables and seating are so impractical. The tables are about mid calf height when sat down. We had to be careful when getting up early not to hit our heads on the low swinging dangerous lights. My 'godfather' cocktail was brought to the table. The waitress said 'sorry there's no cream, we've ran out' with no offer of a substitute. Totally unacceptable for such expensive cocktails. Also there were no serviettes or drinks mats so we were constantly dripped on whilst picking our drinks up from our stupidly low table to drink them.

Love it here! Fresh ingredients only, amazing cocktails and service. Staff knowledgable and happy! An Extensive and impressive selection if cocktails and spirits. Tapas is great, stunning views and interior- have spent many an afternoon and evening in here with my friends just enjoying the music and atmosphere. If you are into your cocktails you must give The Nook a visit. Only one gripe - they need to open another one in Dorchester!!!!

Friendly staff and lovely home cooked cakes. Go there often for lunch or a cuppa. Steps up to the entrance and small inside but staff were willing to help another customer with a wheelchair while I was there.

The Nook is the best place on Weymouth Beach to sip Cocktails an look out at the beautiful Bay. The cocktails here are to die for! I had a mango cooler and is prob the best Cocktail I have ever had, beautifully presented too and I loved that it was female bartenders making the cocktails! Girl power, and none of that faffing about throwing shakers up in the air, just perfectly blended cocktails, smiley happy staff. what more can I say?? Perfect

The nook makes the best mojitos in town. The atmosphere is good however they only seem to have 2 staff serving at one time and sat nights are busy and you may have to wait over 20 mins to be served. More staff please...

Not eaten here but stopped here for both nights we have been in Weymouth for a pre meal drink. Really friendly staff, happy to chat as they serve you. Both evenings the weather has been good so we have been able to sit outside and 'people' watch.

We wandered along the esplanade on a recent rainy weekend and fetched up at The Nook. The food was excellent...we had the pie of the day (chicken) and the chili, and both were delicious. Fresh, hot and very tasty. Unfortunately, our server was initially not particularly welcoming (or even polite for that matter)...but we were very nice so she unbent somewhat! Probably because we came in a little earlier than the usual lunch crowd? Not a good first impression, but the food made up for it!

We wandered around Weymouth looking for somewhere to sit outside with our dog.Comfortable chairs but somewhat grubby table, nevertheless we both ordered grilled chicken & salad. The food was very well presented, tasted good and reasonable priced.

Popped in on saturday afternoon to grab a bite to eat. We had 1 pie (this wasn't a pie but a pile of chicken mush with a bit of pastry on top, tasted ok but it was not a pie, the burnt veg on the side was horrid hard to tell what I as eating. 1 steak baguette with salad, the steak was so chewy a very cheap cut & barely any onions/musrooms, the bacon & cheese baguette again was cheap ingredients. Very dissapointing, we are local & sad to say we didn't stay for desserts or drinks, try elsewhere!

Me and a group of friends recently stayed at the nooks hotel although the rooms are very basic they are comfy my paticular room was not well cleaned there was dust every were and ink stains and hair on the bed as well as what seemed to be dog hairs all up the stairs , also are rooms had been booked well in advanced but there was still confusion when we arrived , they have a 2 key sytem but that wasnt needed as the door was propped up all night from people in the next bar which made it hard to enter the front this is a good place to stay if ur looking for somewere to rest ur head after being out all day but not if your looking for quiet or extreme comfort

I belong to slimming world, and eating out at this restaurant on tues 21st was great , I explained about what I wanted ,and was told they cook everything from fresh, I really enjoyed the tagliatelle tomato based, I asked for no oils to be used , I used my cheese & biscuits allowance , I did not want pickle so instead they put sliced onions in its place , their was 5 of us and we were all very satisfied , the service was very good, & we shall return ...........

If you like cocktails do NOT go here. Quite a nice little place for an evening drink but the quality of the cocktails is extremely poor. They have their own twist and style on cocktails which is fine but only if it is still presented with the same degree of presentation and drink quality. The ingredients and alcohol were cheaper imitations not the better brands. When asked whether we wanted garnish on a cocktail the delivery was a tiny scrape of lemon rind that looked more like a dead fly. Disappointing will not go there again.

Visited this establishment for a friends stag do. The ambience and friendly service really knocked me for six. We were a stag do so was expecting a dive of a place if I'm honest but this couldn't be further from the truth. Lovely rooms and a really well decorated cocktail bar which opens late and had a really banging atmosphere!! Will definately be visiting again. Job well done.

After ordering a mocha martini I was served a vodka martini on pointing out the error I was told the coffee machine was not working and asked to leave. I wish Amy, the new owner, and her team the best in her new venture. i personally will not be dining or drinking in the Nook Brasserie again. So sad after many happy years of enjoying cocktails there.

I've eaten at the Nook on many occasions before and always enjoyed the food and the ambience. However went last weekend for lunch and was disappointed, friends ordered salads and they were minuscule (more of a starter size), another friend had fish and chips (which he had ordered before and found tasty) but this time he said the fish was greasy and the chips cold. I had the ploughmans which was nice but not worth nearly £9! Different chef perhaps? Or cashing in on the Olympics, as it was a busy day on the seafront? Either way a real shame as it has put us off returning.

Went there for lunch and me and my friend decided on the king prawns with lime and chilli with chips and garlic bread for £18 . They were busy but it arrived about 45 min Later , the presentation was amazing , however the sauce was very very oily and tasteless .. the whole thing had no flavour , we were very disappointed. The chips were fab and so was the garlic bread . It was such a shame . Also we had no napkins or wet wipes given to us , so it was a messy eat , don’t know if I’d return and Im A local x

Went for Sunday Roast beef on 27/10/24 excellent. Loved the work they put into the exhibit in the garden for Halloween. Been going to the wishing well every time me & my wife visit Dorset. Staff are always so friendly.😍

Called in for lunch on a wet, miserable Sunday. Didn't intend having a full on roast but they looked so good we felt we should try them. We weren't disappointed. We went for the standard size ( you could have a small appetites one or a two meats one for less or more money) and I opted for beef whereas husband chose the pork. The meals came pretty quickly seeing as the place was full up. We hadn't booked but it seemed like many people do as lots of the tables had reserved signs on. Our meats were excellent and the plates piled high with veggies - cabbage, carrots, Swede and parsnips plus roast potatoes of course. Lots of all of them but they could've done with being a bit hotter (roast spuds were very hot but the other veg weren't). Husband had plenty of gravy on his pork but my meal was very dry, just a bit of gravy in the Yorkshire pudding, none on the rest of the plate which made it a bit of a struggle to get through. I'll be brave another time and ask nicely if I can please have some gravy but they were busy at this time so I didn't want to be a pain.
