We received a warm welcome from the Hosts for Dinner on Valentine’s Evening, there was a very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere in the Restaurant which made it even more pleasurable. A good varied menu to cater for all tastes. We enjoyed one of the best meals we’ve experienced for quite a while. The Starters were very tasty and the Filet Steaks were superb, beautifully cooked and extremely tender. We did indulge in a Sweet which was rich but very good! There is an interesting Wine List at acceptable prices. A memorable evening and we really look forward to future visits.

We had some of the best fish and chips from S & E we've ever had when we stayed in West Bay 2 years ago, so were prepared to wait the 40 minutes it took to be served. We were unsure why it took so long: there were long periods when no-one moved at all. We wish we hadn't done so, as the chips were not nice to eat (they looked grey, were not crisp, and tasted "earthy") and the batter on the plaice was hard and very thick. The only good thing was the plaice itself. That's why I gave more than 1 star. Will we bother to queue again when there is so much competition within a few yards? Very unlikely.

Some really mixed reviews on here. We were recommended this as a take away by the host of our rental property. It didn’t disappoint. It’s a decent fish n chippy. Tasty fish served piping hot, good chips. Only quibble was the vinegar served from a plant sprayer. It doesn’t work!

Tried again, as we love Asian food, cocktails were so slow, but assume because of orders and lack of bar staff. Food was ok, although my noodles wasn’t warm, let alone hot. The menu is very very small, we feel the other restaurant on west street offers more choice, Rhangtang.

Have visited this Tea Room on a couple of occasions en route to Cornwall. The food is delicious & generous in size. Excellent value & quality. It’s always our first choice of a stop off when leaving Sussex for Cornwall & vice versa. Highly recommend

Wonderfully efficient and helpful service. The food was pretty good too but would suggest the a la carte menu not the set menues which we found to be a bit too filling and the dishes a bit to similar to each other. However it was well cooked and delightfully presented. Well worth a second visit.

Called into this pub many times over the years after finishing work at The Melplash Show. A wonderful stop at any time but especially after 12 hours hard work. Food and drinks always good. Now retired and on holiday, we took on the well talked about Sunday Roast and we were not disappointed. Superb food, service and presentation. Staff were out of this world and so proud of what they were doing. And what a beautiful setting with a stream flowing through the garden. We will return.

We went to the cafe to celebrate a friends 86th birthday. The ambience was fantastic. Leila our waitress was attentive and delivered First Class service The food was awesome. We had the fish stew × 2, fish pie and hake steak. Will definitely visit again

Stopped off here for a hot dog. I would have given a higher rating if they had used hot dog sausages however the normal sausages they did give us (two of in each hot dog by the way) were very good though the onions were slightly lacking. The staff were very good and all food is cooked to order so one will have to wait but even so the wait wasn't too long. For a seaside takeaway kiosk the prices are very reasonable as these sort of places tend to be a tad more expensive. We will be back next time we're in the area.
