The best hot chocolate in Bridport! Served with a hot toasted tea cake sat outside on a Saturday morning. Great place to watch the busy world of Bridport go by.

We live near Bridport and enjoy a hot chocolate when we’re out and about. We drank hot chocolate with the bells and whistles and a slice of cake with bramble jelly. It was super delicious, the seating inside was comfortable and service quick and friendly. My wife carried on shopping with a blob of cream from the hot chocolate on the end of her beak. It amuses me no end, alas not her. A great place for a hot drink, not to mention the superb hand made chocolates.

I am so disappointed. After booking online 2weeks ahead for 2 children, and paying £8.95 each for a chocolate decorating activity, we arrived at our booked time to discover a long wait (10 min for a 2 year old with nothing to do is a LONG time). Dirty tables, no space, and an insistence we could squeeze in to a tiny table after 15 minutes waiting. There were 9 people in 2 groups already, in a small back room, indoor, non ventilated area. And whilst masks are not required by law, no masks being worn. Covid cases in West Dorset today are at 1201 (source Zoe app). Simple precautions such as ventilation and not overcrowding indoor areas are advisable. It is simply greedy to over book an area like this, and put people at greater risks. It is half term, and whilst we are local, and try to support local businesses, many visitors are holiday makers and tourists. Again - think of the risks! Apologies were scant, just an offer of waiting an hour for space. What was the point of booking for 11am then? One little boy, in his best skeleton outfit, left extremely sad he could not do the ‘fun times’ he had been promised. A refund was not readily offered either - so frustrating. This cafe have put customers at risk in seeking profit of squeezing people with in, with no thought for comfort or safety. I simply cannot recommend them, and advise other families to avoid booking any activities to avoid disappointing any child who was so looking forward to making treats.

We tend to avoid the major coffee chains, in favour of the little local coffee shops. We were not disappointed, the Aleksandra's was very good indeed excellent cappuccino, and very good homemade cakes. We also had little tempters of small chocolates - which we think were on made on the premises (?) - far too tempting for a diabetic.

Not impressed at all with this cafe. Waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches. The crab sandwich had been cut with the same knife as the brie and cranberry so has cranberry sauce down the centre. They dud make another but it was watery, tastless and had no seasoning. We were offered a refund but having finished our sandwiches and waited for far too long we left without it. We will not be returning.

June 25th 2018 a glorious day.We arrived in the Main Street of Bridport as the clock struck 2pm having paid for two hours parking. We planned to stay long enough to enjoy a light bite and a mooch around the shops. Lunch was budgetted for around £20 and we hoped to visit the shops, spending as we pleased. We had a warm welcome at one of the pubs whose excellent lunch menu was far more substantial than we could manage. The Chocolatiers Cafe caught our eye. Sandwiches, baked potatoes, coffees were ideal choices on the menu. The girl who served us explained that we had arrived too late at 14.10 for such food. We made do with a delicious latte, disappointed and very hungry after hours of driving from the far west. Some twenty minutes later the next customers arrived, It was a quiet cafe. They requested a light lunch and were also told it was not available. The owner intervened, explained that were short staffed( he did not mention that they were also short of customers) . He said that lunch would be available for this couple. I pointed out that we would would have liked the same service. He apologised, but did not offer us a meal, which would have added about £20 to the day's takings. We did not stay any longer in the town.

Immaculate loos and a great family firm with a nice atmosphere.Gareth the proprietor and his wife Alex, gave a talk/presentation to a school party the other day and it looks as though nothing was too much trouble, to keep regulars happy as well as their one-off guests interested in the art of chocolate making. My friend and I popped into to this lovely little cafe ( seats outside too)for a quick hot drink and a toasted tea cake. I can't remember when Ilast had a hot chocolate drink that was so so good. Not only was it piping hot( which I love!) but made from Belgian chocolate 'pellets' not powder and adorned with cream and mini marshmallows, it was to die for and it doesn't end there! Sitting in the spoon was a tiny chocolate frog! This of course came from their wonderful handmade chocolates on sale also as you come into the cafe. But what a lovely little touch. We were told there was a variety of savoury dishes available but we arrived almost at the end of their day. However we were informed if in the future we did want something later in the day we just had to give them a ring and they would happily rustle up a jacket potato or something else that was on the menu which we thought was really accommodating and a really friendly gesture.Added to all this we were offered a loyalty card which was great as we would certainly be returning and recommending this great cafe to all our friends.

Visited this place with our adult severely autistic son. In the small shop he had a meltdown. This is unpredictable and traumatic for him, his parents and anyone witnessing it. We managed to bundle him outside having left our purchases on the table inside the cafe. Eventually he calmed down on the bench on the pavement outside the shop. I went back in to apologise to the young man in charge. He said I had nothing to apologise for and asked if our son would like his cup of tea. He then brought out a table and our refreshments to sit outside. Can we just say that an attitude like this makes a world of difference to families like ours. The young man's acceptance was so appreciated. It was lovely coffee and chocolates, but it was the sensitive help that will stay in our memory most of all. Support this shop!

Lovely friendly staff, Super delicious chocolates, excellent but limited snacks. The building limits what they can do though.

This place is unique. The service is spot on; the chocolate is handmade by the best chocolatier on the South Coast and the coffee is the real deal. Not that muddy water nonsense you'll find at the big name places. You've got to give this place a try!!

Should be a law against places like this! They encourage a love for chocolate which the bible says shalt lead to thy falling from the righteous diet .... oooh but that little chocolate froglet is rather hmmmmm. Only small so you can have yer chocolate and still go to heaven.

Went to see a couple of bands, great venue with a good vibe, must go back in the daylight and explore the beer garden!

Two visits over the last few days. Pleasant staff, decent beer and nice atmosphere but nowhere to sit - the first time all the tables in the pub were reserved for a quiz, the second time it was lad out, theatre-style, for the rugby. We cleared off to The Volunteer.

We came with friends as we had all been gifted afternoon tea, and chose to visit this tearoom. We booked just over a week in advance. What a great choice! A great selection of beautifully fresh finger sandwiches, scones, cream and jam. and a selection of small cakes, which were so light. Absolutely scrumptious. We weren't rushed, so we could sit and enjoy our food. The folk working in the tearoom were very welcoming and we had a delightful afternoon. Thank you!
