Coriander in West Dorset

I have used all Of the Indian restaurants in bridport over the last 30 years they all suffer from inconsistencies , how ever for the last 6 months this restaurant has been outstanding

Had a nice Aloo Gobi from here, which was very reasonably priced. (Takeaway) I found the quality of the food is slightly better in the winter, presumably when it's quieter. It's never been bad though!

Ordered through just eat at 1850, for delivery at 2000 phoned up at 2015 to be told its just cooking 20 mins 30 mins later phoned again to be told its out with the delivery driver,be 5 mins. 20 mins later phoned again to be told its cooking, at this point we told the restaurant we would come in, on arrival we asked for a refund as it was nearly 3 hours from the time of placing the order, we were told you can not have a refund as we ordered through the just eat app, whilst stood waiting for the food as I wasn't going with out food or money we whitnes 2 children under the age of 7 playing and running around the kitchen. WE WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN

Had a delivery and it was awful, the chicken had like a gone off smell and it was rubbery and chewy. Safe to say I’m avoiding this place and going back to the other Indian on south street.

My husband and I ordered our first curry from coriander tonight after seeing recommendations about how good it was. We have to say we were very impressed from how easy it was to order online through to very prompt delivery! The food was piping hot generous portions and delicious the chicken fell apart it was so tender and juicy the sauces (korma Lucknow and madras) were thick and full of flavor. I’m not a huge hot spicy fan but I’m so glad I tried the madras lots of spices and flavorsome. Couldn’t fault anything so glad we tried Coriander we will be trying more dishes from them! And would definitely recommend them very reasonably priced too. Also must say thank you to the friendly delivery driver who brought our food which is a rarity nowadays! 10 out of 10. Thank you guys we will be back 😀

Perfect atmosphere, all the memories of India came back. The food was the kind that you close your eyes as it goes in your mouth it was that delicious. Really kind attentive service. It might have been the owner, our server, he created the Dorset Naga dish that my husband loved. I had the Simla garlic chef speciality and it was the perfect heat. Every thing was done well and we had a great evening. Thank you. We will see you again!

Coming back from seeing my family. On the way home in the car ordered on the just eat app for collection On arrival we received a long lecture about using the app and not ringing in. I know they charge you for being on the app but if you do not like it take yourselves off of it rather than being rude to the customers! Whenever my partner gets a curry he asks for potato in his curry. So far no Indian we have been too have been bothered by this as it it's literally the cheapest veg you can buy. But he told us how he took 3 pieces of chicken out to put 3 small pieces of potato in. We put in forcollection just charge what most likely would have been at most 50p or just don't be so pathetic. I ordered a chicken pathia. It completely lacked flavour and boring.. the one at subdorban is so exciting and makes the taste buds tingle! To be honest was so underwhelmed by the service and the food. Hopefully they were just having a bad night. I have had a good mealin the past but you really let yourselves down... will be going subdorban next time!

My husband and myself spent a week in Bridport, we went to this Indian twice and both times we had an excellent take away, the staff where very helpful and accommodating, we would highly recommend this Indian takeaway.

We ordered a huge selection for 4 people last night [5th Sept] as a delivered takeaway, Every dish was superb and all different to the last, full of individual flavours. Great choice of food and all very good. Reasonable price. Delivery promptly by taxi. Food arrives hot and well presented. Difficult to eat all in one sitting!

Lovely evening with the misses. Friendly staff who took us to our table. This restaurant is bring your own drink. Which is nice to keep the cost low. The inside has been revamped which is now nice and modern. Food; Very tastey indeed. We had pilau rice garlic naan with our choice of mixed Tandoori tikka and Roshini chicken. Was lovely. We tried to make an order through Just Eat as they had a 10% discount as it was Bank Holiday. The manager wasn’t prepared to match this discount if we ordered directly which is fair enough. We then went back on Just Eat to order and suddenly they were unable to offer delivery... a coincidence.. I think not.... I was also advised that one of the curry’s could not be ordered without onion in it, which makes me believe that the curry is not therefore cooked to order, I have never in over 30 years of eating curry ever been told this. Again not putting the customer first which is a shame. Having made an order for over £60 I asked if there was would be any complimentary papadums and was told by the very nice lady on the phone (Sam) that the manager said no. Being a local restaurant it saddens me that they do not seem to want repeat business, if it was a £15 then fine but everyone knows with larger orders papadums generally are given out as a gesture of goodwill. We then had to wait nearly 90 minutes and still no food so cancelled the order. 5 minutes after cancelling the order, a very nice delivery driver called to “check our address” but we advised we had cancelled. Sad times and we will not ever try to order food from them again
