1st visit thought we would try somewhere different for birthday celebrations.
All the food was very nice and nice and hot.
Very good value and attentive service!!
Would definitely visit again
Very Disappointed! Went last year for Easter was lovely so we thought we would return again for Easter Sunday. Firstly all the family were split up on different tables, but we were in same area, but they took orders at different times so some were on desert when others hadn’t even had mains. No Lager, only Paroni bottles as they say pumps had broken, no non alcoholic fruit cider. Took dinner orders then to be told they had run out of Beef ! Had the lamb instead but the dinner was flavourless. Ordered desserts, then told they had run out again !!. Very annoyed, I know it’s Easter Sunday, but surely if they take all the bookings, they should certainly make sure they have enough of everything?
The waitresses were amazed, I dropped off a cake for after our meal,
and balloons for the table, which they did for me. All our meals were delicious and tasty. Great service and a good price. Thank you everyone
Terrible service for ordering take away. I was advised to pickup in 20 minutes. I arrived after 20 minutes with my dog so waited outside after popping my head around the door to say I was collecting a takeaway and what the order number was. The front of house said she would get it and I would have to wait outside as I had a dog. I had no intention of going into a food establishment with a dog but just said ok! She talked and talked to a customer and after a further 20 minutes waiting outside I asked her where my order was. She went and collect from an orang just eat zip up bag. I stated at the time so has it just been sitting ther getting cold to which she replied that it had only just been put in the bag. True enough as soon as I got home which was a 5 minute walk from Chennai Dosa the order was stone cold! I rang to tell them this to which the same woman just kept saying it wasn’t cold then said dosa’s are not supposed to be warm. My entire order was cold. I usually love ordering from here and going in to eat. It’s a shame that one careless and lazy employee can ruin this experience. Will not be ordering from them again!
We enjoy going to the Old Bakery for breakfast, lunch or a hot drink when we need to get out of the hotel (or outside of work for birthdays etc). Everyone that works there is so friendly and welcoming and it has a great atmosphere, the food is lovely and locally sourced.
We went to The Carpenters Arms for a Sunday roast dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day.
The food was lovely. They were really busy but the service was excellent, the waiting staff were friendly and cheerful.
The roast was the best we have had at a pub.The portions were a good size with plenty of veg. All really good. We will definitely return soon.
This is the best cocktail bar in town. The guys here are the top notch crew. I come down here as I live quite close. The pressure is on due to the time of year. The manager, obviously stressed, but still gave me eye contact and smiled. 5☆.
I'm an elderly woman enjoying a glass of wine but I don't feel awkward or that I shouldn't be here.
I've worked in night clubs and bars for 52 years and yes I did lie about my age but these guys have it sorted. I cannot recommend them enough.
Was led to believe this place had been done up I am not sure how can it be in worse shape than it was previously not good something is just off with this place would not recommend it to anyone very strange.

I did a phone order for collection, which they forced me to pay cash for. When I got home and realised that there was a missing item I called them back up. Instead of saying sorry for their mistake, the host began to accuse me of lying and said that it was in the bag, when clearly it wasn't. Not unless it was an invisible rice. She continued to argue that they packed it. She then began to swear at me in Chinese, which she thought I couldn't understand. I'm a honest man, and would not take anything that isnt mine, and i would certainly not try and con a Chinese out of a box of rice. So basicly what they have done, is steal from me, by charging me for something they clearly havent given. And conveniently, as the payment was in cash, I had no chance of a refund. They're cheaters, liars, aggressive and have horrendous customer service. Do not give them your money!! I will NEVER order from them again! If you read this, please don't say you haven't been warned!........ and in reply to the owners response about my review, you most definitely forced me to pay cash, as you ONLY take cash payments in the shop! I was not in a position to go online and order, which I told you. As for the swearing at me, after calling me a lier for 5 minutes you asked the chef if he made the rice (in Chinese), which he told you he didn't, then you back tracked and offered to make the rice, which I had to leave my house and drive all the way back for, which would've been pointless as the rest of the £40 food order wouldve been stone cold by the time i got back. At this point the damage was done and the trust of our transaction was broken. And when I expressed my dissatisfaction about how i was treated, you got aggressive and started to swear at me, not the chef. Thats why i hung up on you. Also, why would I accept a free item, when I stated I will never return because of the way I was treated. You can try and sugarcoat it in any way you like, but you treated me with disrespect, aggression and dishonesty.
Me and my friends are regular customers and they always throw in prawn crackers. They must have a new staff called Nicola and because we were £1.70 off the £30 she said no. We’ve always have been given these. When I questioned it she was abrupt, rude…absolutely shocking after we’ve spent so many orders with my friends at china kitchen. Terrible customer experience.
We ate in the magnificently decorated bar and my choice of food, the venison steak was pretty good. The service staff were very pleasant and the bar had a choice of excellent cask ale. It is probably not the cheapest place around, but we were pleased to have found it and had a very nice meal.
Stayed last 10th and 11th march with a group of friends for Cheltenham lovely hotel with very fair prices, Claire was brilliant behind the bar very friendly and kept the drinks flowing, couldn't ask for more and highworth has exactly what you need for a couple of nights away, thanks Claire and all the staff
