Moody's Place in Swindon

First timer here, and I’d say the food and service was on point. Was surprisingly empty when we walked in (about 6pm on a bank holiday) and so was a little weary at first, but once we ‘settled in’ and started eating, we were more than content. Prices are a little steep, but I’d argue this is quality over quantity; even though we certainly had quantity as well. I’d be amazed if anyone could sit through four servings as the menu lays out. Decor was good, food obviously, cheesecake uncertain (I made the mistake of ordering when already full, would’ve probably enjoyed it more otherwise). Didn’t catch her name either, but a shout out to the waitress (youngish with presumably dyed blonde hair) who was pleasant and welcoming. Quite likely to return here if ever in the area.

We visited early on a Friday evening and the restaurant was quiet. We received a friendly welcome and were served quickly. The burgers were really tasty with plenty of cheese, bacon and a gherkin on the side. The chip portions were huge and one of my daughters had chips with pulled pork and cheese and it could have been a meal in itself! We all really enjoyed our meals and will definitely return.

Looks like a great place. Lovely decor and friendly service but the food was bland. Veggie burger was tasteless with cheap ingredients while the nacho's were served cold and without the ordered chilli beef. This was rectified but the chilli was just poured on top and not heated. They did give a complimentary drink (although they didn't mention this just subtracted it from the bill) which was nice of them. Overall, it wouldn't take much for this to become the best place in Swindon for burgers etc as they have a great location and the decor is good, but they need to up their food game.

Great value, big portions, delicious food, friendly staff. Had the chilli cheese burger, fries, mac n cheese, waffles. All good. There was a promotion on where the first drink was free but even without that it was really good prices.

This is the second visit to Moody’s and the food was again just lovely, with massive portions sized and great attentive service!

Went to Moodys Burgers for the first time and the food was fantastic, service was great couldn't fault them. Would reccomend!

I would give this a 3.5 if i could. We visited for the first time after seeing a film at the cinema at Regent Circus (we used to go to GBK) on a Weds evening. The restaurant was quiet in terms of no. of occupied tables but very noisy - other than us there one group of 8 and one of 3 but the poor acoustics meant it sounded much busier. I was v pleased with the number of gluten free options - the bun substitute was not what I was expecting but tasted good and didn't fall apart unlike others I've tried so I really enjoyed my burger. The portion size of the fries is ridiculous - probably the amount I'd cook for 3 maybe even 4 people - so we both felt very wasteful. Likewise the milkshakes are delicious but far too big - some size options would be good. We'll definitely be back next time we need a decent burger fix but we'll avoid it for a social get together with friends, simply because it's too noisy to want to sit and linger.

I dropped in for a late lunch on Saturday. I ordered a blue cheese burger and bacon loaded fries. Service was relatively quick, although by this point it was almost 3pm so the place was mostly empty. The burger was underwhelming. Everything was put together well (although I'd have appreciated more cheese), and the ingredients were good quality, but it was bland and disappointing. The fries were relatively tasty and the portion size was excellent, but the consistency and texture didn't do it for me - I'd have preferred melted cheese to cheese sauce. Overall I wasn't particularly impressed or unimpressed with my meal, but for the price I could go elsewhere in town and get two, better burgers, or just up the street for some Indian food. I don't think I'll return.

Food was delicious, lovely ambiance, gave us a Christmas card and a 10% discount. Very impressed. Would recommend

Ordered a takeaway, delivered really quickly. Beef burger was nice, chicken burger was quite soggy. Chips and Onion Rings didn't travel well, but to be honest, not sure how they could improve that. Nothing wrong with it, but not worth the best part of £40 for 2.

The burgers are ridiculously delicious, the chicken wings are THE BEST!, and the shakes are heaven!!

We had 3 different types of burgers, and they were all really good, dirty northern fries were also amazing and my daughter had a milkshake too, which she enjoyed. As the orders are cooked fresh, waiting times are quite long, so order in plenty of time. I ordered from their website and they called me to say the order would be a little longer, which we were happy with. Will order again for sure.

Ordered a deliver at 7.30 said it will be delivered at 8.45 got a call at 9.20 saying another hour and half They did refund money but left us hanging shame cause food good

My husband and I loved the moody take away and tonight we decided to take our family to the moody restaurant, what a disappointment! The atmosphere is awful and awkward, the staff are uninterested and slow, out of all the people working tonight only one guy actually seemed to be doing anything, the others were talking at the bar hiding behind menus!? We waited 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and then they finally took our food order, I’d understand the wait if the restaurant was busy but it was empty! I took my daughters to the toilets which were dirty and out of toilet tissue, quite gross for a restaurant. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for our food to arrive and could see the few other diners in there doing the same. When our food arrived our starters came out with the kids main meals which was great but all of our children’s food orders were wrong - we didn’t mention it and just thought we’d let the kids get on with it as we didn’t want to wait ages again to have them re done. The food wasn’t great, the burgers were dry and our starters were cold. We finished our starters and waited for our mains to arrive, expecting them to come out before our children were finished, they didn’t. We waited over 30 mins after finishing our starters before my husband had had enough and told them not to bother. I’ve never waited so long for a burger and fries in my life especially in an empty restaurant. We arrived at 6 and left at 7.30 having only had our starters. After complaining about the wait they offered to take 20% off the price of the meals when we had already told them that we have a 20% off voucher anyway. So disappointed and definitely would not return. To be honest it was so bad that I probably wouldn’t order from the take away now either.

Should have paid attention to the previous reviews - shame we didn’t. Decor not bad at all, but that is as good as it gets (apart from the fries).Burgers not cooked to taste and all4 arrived lukewarm and well-done. We informed the server that the burgers were not hot and she was “going to tell the kitchen.” Fries ok and plentiful and surprisingly hot when compared to the burgers.The place was almost empty - only two other tables. At 8:45pm one member of staff started mopping the floor which created a glorious smell of toilet cleaner! Fortunately we had finished our meal, but surely this can wait until the customers have left? Young and inexperienced service, which is sad as with some good training they could be significantly better. If you like your burgers - DO NOT EAT HERE! Marketing is great but it doesn’t match the outcomes.Sadly, not a place we will be visiting again.

Looking online it was open til 11 we arrived at half 9 and refused service? Yet the sign outside also said open...

Amazingly tasty burgers with a great variety to choose from and the loaded fries are delicious. It makes a nice change to the usual takeaways. Delivery was quick and food hot.

Have been meaning to try Moody's for some time now due to the reviews but have been left disappointed.The burger was very bland and I left wondering what all the other reviewers had been eating.I have had much better burgers at numerous places around Swindon so would definitely not return. The Ridge and GBK are much better tasting with lots of flavour.The fries were nice as was the coleslaw but the burger was very plain.Overpriced for very average food.

Would highly recommend Moodys for a decent burger and a range of terrific sides.They have a large range of burgers including two very tasty vegetarian burgers (I would recommend the earth burger). They also offer a decent selection of sides and loaded fries.. the portion size for these is large, a burger and fries is more than enough for one person so I would recommend sharing sides and fries between people if you fancy a few different ones.The drinks menu is extensive, with cocktails, pitchers, mocktails sand milkshakes which you can also make naughty. They normally have some kind of drinks deal or happy hour too, which is a bonus! The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Burgers are to die for and the fries are varied and plentiful. Definitely recommend this takeaway if you want a change from the usual pizza or Indian

First time I've had a delivery I have previously eaten in the restaurant. Food arrived piping hot and so delicious loaded fries to die for chicken wings and stupendous milkshakes

What a great place Moodys is. Great burgers. Loaded fries to die for, one portion is enough for two and they are great! Service was friendly and attentive. Price very reasonable and big portions. Food cane fast and it was fresh and hot. Desserts were great too. Nice decor and music. All done very well.

This was actually a takeaway rather than an eat in so I can’t comment on the restaurant but.......Having read previous reviews with mixed experiences I was a bit wary, however, the food was delicious, delivered well within their time frame and still hot when it arrived.The wife had a bacon cheeseburger and I plumped for the moody blue but the star was the loaded hog fries absolutely gorgeous and a generous portion with plenty for two to share, you might have a row about who finishes them off!On this performance I am impressed

Ordered a takeaway and much time, special deal burger and fries for £5.95, wishin 15 mins my order was ready. I can honestly say I wasnt disappointed the burger was freshly made and was really nice as were the fries. Will definitely be going back and can highly recommend

Superb. Burgers were top drawer, well presented and very filling. Sides were great. I had a couple of beers with mine which were as expected. The Mrs had a milkshake which she said was excellent( I must admit it looked damn good) Waitress was lovely and service exactly what it should be. Recommended! Will return for sure.

Bright Sunday afternoon. Me and my mates got some serious munchies and your burger did exactly what it needed to. Just AMAZING

Went for a lunchtime group meal, so had ordered in advance, 2 people with dietary requirements.Unfortunately 1 person with dietary requirements received the wrong meal and it wasn't realised until they had eaten some (it was replaced - finally) and the other special meal didn't arrive until everyone had finished.We weren't charged, but the poor waitress was left to try and sort when really the manager should have apologised.My food was fine, but I've definitely had better - I wouldn't go again.

After an awful meal here, with rude service, wrong food and drinks brought out. We went for a night out in there club Boston brothers/ Revs. After having a drink thrown in my face by a young boy, I was dragged from the loo and dragged down stairs and thrown out of the night club on my hands and knees.

Visited for family 21st celebration, all of our party had no complaints at all about the food, from burgers to chicken goujons all delicious and nice and hot, place was quirky, clean with very attentive staff, would go again or order food online for delivery as some of our party had done previously

We visited here and ordered burgers and cocktails. It was good food. And the cocktails were nice. We hope to return in future.

Went for a birthday meal. Menu is just enough without too much to choose from. Had burger with fries as a side and coleslaw. Wouldn’t overrate the Main meal however the surroundings and company was very enjoyable. Be careful with the burger as you are not asked how you like them cooked and you might find them very pink in the middle which can be off putting if it’s not your thing. I’d recommend having a starter and saving yourself for a delicious dessert instead of a burger. The brownie and ice cream was awesome!

Had the best time! Great service and they even put balloons and a card with a free deserts for a year card for our son on the table ❤ the bacon cheese burger was amazing and so was my strawberry mojito! Best burgers by far ❤❤

It was busy when we went in, and the first member of staff we saw was kinda scruffy and in random clothes so it was hard to tell if he was staff or not. Ordered mocktails, which were tasty.Starter of jalapeños was lovely. For mains we had burgers, which were very good but took a while. The sides were disappointing; corn on the cob was nicely seasoned but still frozen (they took this off our bill and apologised when pointed out), the deep fried gherkins were large and a bit stodgy. The coleslaw was good though. Our bill was wrong, so we had to get to sorted. All in all, the burgers make this place worth a visit but there was a lot about our visit that wasn’t great.

We were passing and saw the sign, so glad we did. The young lady that served us was so polite and friendly.Best breakfast in Swindon pancakes were superb. I had pancakes with bacon and sausage patty with maple syrup so very yummy Sunday breakfast venue of choice now.

The sandwiches of this place are delicious and with fair price. Besides the sandwiches, the sandwiches are great. The atmosphere is pleasant and you can go with family or friends.

Great tasting burger, friendly service in a fab looking place. Passed by Swindon on a Monday evening, and after having tried pick-up from the Worcester location, I wanted to visit the restaurant here in Swindon. Looking forward to their next location closer to home in Cheltenham.

We visited Moody’s Place on a Saturday and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beers and cocktails were good and varied and a fair price. But the burgers were what we went for - They are amazing!. We had Mighty Bacon Cheese Burger and The Moody! and they were both fantastic. We also split chilli cheese loaded fries which were equally as good. We will be going back soon.

Friendly welcome, good service and lovely food. Would go again no problem. The food was all hot tasted great and was offered it boxed up to take home as the portions are big.

I was excited to go to 'Moody's Place' as I'd ordered their food via delivery many times before and loved the huge burgers, loaded fries and incredible milkshakes.I can happily tell you I was not dissapointed!Its a gorgeous little restaurant with a chill atmosphere, the customer service is fantasic, With several members of staff ready to cater to your every need. As per usual the Burgers were the best you can get in the town, I ended up ordering more than I could handle simply because there was so much choice!,The variety also shows on the extensive Cocktail menu!This place is perfect for a romantic dinner for two, A night out with the guys or even to take your family too,Shame I can't give it an extra star for becoming my new fav place to eat!

We go every Saturday before we have a few drinks. It's genuinely the nicest place to eat, great atmosphere, attentive staff and the menu is everything you could wish for in a Burger joint. Really does put the rest to shame!

Absolutely awesome, the burgers are huge with a great range of cocktails to go with it. We also ordered loaded fries and was a lot of food but well worth the money.service was very good and didn't wait long for a drink or food to come out. place its self looks very cool also.they also do a winging it night on a wednesday for teams of people to challenge who can eat the most, def gonna be my next visit.

Love it! Amazing food. Amazing staff. Amazing atmosphere. Perfect place to take kids, friends or family. They also have vegan and gluten free Menus. And the Winging it challenge on a Wednesday is insane!!!

A group of us from work went from work for food and some cocktails!Service was good, drinks were quickly at our table while we discussed what we all wanted to tryI had the halloumi to start followed by the Big Hog!!! Love love loved it!!We all shared some garlic mushroom fries (the best loaded fries I have ever had) onion rings and deep fried gherkins! We were so so stuffI had a couple of mocktails as I was driving which were lush! No room for pudding

Sometimes it's a gamble to try somewhere new, even more so if it's a special occasion, we were not disappointed with Moody's! Great menu, food & service! It's a bit out of the way in the town but Swindon is a strange one sometimes...& it's sad to see places come & go for no particular reason....it was empty but this didn't spoil our meal, it was also early on a Monday evening near the end of January...not exactly prime-time! Great place to eat, really hope it continues to grow & more people find out about it.

Hot fast food? More like Cold slow food! 2nd time of ordering, 1st time service was not great so we were offered 25% off to try again and they failed epically tonight! Over 2 hours for cold food! Never again!

My partner ordered our food, an hour later, still no food, I rung to be told ‘it’ll be 20 minutes’... over 40 minutes later, the food turns up... the wrong order! I phoned up, the girl I spoke to was very helpful and apologetic, refunding my burger & sending the right chips, but never the less, I Won’t be ordering again! An hour and 40 minutes for 2 burgers and 1 chips (wrongly delivered) is not good.

Great burger delivered in about 20 mins. Fresh, firm and hot. Just right if you want a real burger! Chilli fries also hit the spot.

Have eaten in and taken away a few times and can honestly say this place doesn't disappoint. Great choice on both the food and drink menus. Good options for children too! My children love the milkshakes .. The staff are really friendly and more than happy to recommend food from the menu if like me you struggle to decide on which burger to order as they all sound good.If you're looking for a great atmosphere to have some nice burgers then look no further.. you've found the right place!

Service was friendly and well timed, food was absolutely delicious, as were the mocktails. I really like the decor too. Fairly priced and you definitely get a good portion out of it. Really want to come back again soon.

A nice new place and the place itself is spotless with some really nice decor.I can't really fault the place, however I would say the food was a little overpriced compared to what you can get elsewhere, albeit is was good food. This would be my only complaint, it just wasn't good enough for what they are charging.What I would say is that the service was excellent and absolutely faultless, I was really impressed with how we were looked after and taken care of.
