Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Swindon

Ordered on kfc app at 13. 46 and it's 15.30 now the food still not been delivered yet very bad service no option of cancelling

Ordered food and it is more than an hour and I still didn’t get the food. When I was ordering it said 20 minutes to be delivered. Very slow, very ahit service

I wanted to share my recent experience at your restaurant, which unfortunately fell short of my expectations. On two separate occasions, I found the quality of the burgers to be lacking. The bread appeared to be old and was quite hard, and the chicken did not have the great taste I've come to expect from your other outlets. For a more satisfying experience, I recommend visiting your location in the town center, which consistently delivers excellent quality. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope my feedback helps in improving the quality of food and service at your restaurant.

What a dump! The trays spin and are warped so your drink spills, the tables are dirty and all wobble. Is this a restaurant or a joke shop? KFC never again. Overpriced for what it is and experience was dreadful.Receipt in photo proves I was really at this disastrous place. Just look at the warped tray! Sorry KFC this dump is an epic fail.

Order was incorrect, forgot drinks,forgot items from order,waited 30 minutes seeing my meal go from one end of the restaurant to the other,when wanted customer service, employees didnt even acknoledge me for 20 minutes even when one woman wasnt actually doing anything and was overseeing others. Kiosks dont even work for QR code scans. When questioning why it wouldnt take my code, they told me to go and have my order taken at the till where of which there wasnt even member of staff waiting for me when i originally planned to take my order there, which is why i went to the kiosk. Overall horrible customer service, worst KFC ive visited in England as a result.

I would not recommend this KFC. I had popcorn chicken and it was cold and then two days later, I was being sick with food poisoning. I DO NOT recommend at all. I only had a very small amount and was being sick for an entire day. The service was really bad too, we were served by a very rude person. Save yourself from illness and eat somewhere else!!

Don’t know how to make a Garvey for a started, burger wasn’t made good enough, half the sauces the don’t have.Avoid this KFC at any cost if you love your food.

It's a chain and probably one of the few reasonably priced food outlets in the centre. Of the three self service screens one wasn't working and this was mentioned to staff. Service was quick but then again it wasn't busy in early January. It's OK.

This was a very bad experience because their customer service was absolutely terrible and they can't do their job properly. I had to order multiple items because they didn't put the correct food items. The food was not that good and in one of the sandwiches the chicken wasn't cooked properly. Please KFC next time treat your customers with more respect and cook the chicken right

Absolutely disgusting! Lukewarm at best, smallest pot of gravy I have ever seen & vastly overpriced. When complaining about lukewarm mini fillets, they were replaced with equally cold ones by a disinterested surly woman. Avoid like the plague. Would give zero rating if possible.

Visited about 10.30 on weekday morning. Very few persons eating, possibly 6 in total, all youngsters. Wife and I had Chicken burger and chips. Chips were already standing in paper packets behind the counter, rows of them!! Why, I've no idea as there was not a crowd queuing to order.. I fed back our experience to the lady who served us, that was that the chips were luke warm and within 2mins stone cold. Burger itself was only slightly better. The bun it was in was possibly the worst I've ever tasted, it also just fell apart when you picked it up. Waste of good money. Only compliments we have are for the cleaner who immediately cleaned the tables after anyone left. Never again.

Had to wait for more chicken to be cooked, not a problem. Some of the order was missing, however, the staff quickly brought it to us, plus some extra chips as an apology. Well cooked, hot and delicious. Always like KFC, never disappointed. Very clean, busy but not long waiting, will visit again

Very slow service, lack of staff

The food court is really nice to sit at after shopping. The KFC tasted good. Actually better than the Canadian one we are used to having.

Absolutely fantastic food. Staff and managers are always super friendly. Service is always super fast and food super fresh. One of the best kfc’s in south wales.

The staff need to have a bit of personality, not like their souls are being sucked away.

Food was hot however some items were missing. And when I called them several times the phone wouldn’t engage. The spices of the chicken are different from other places like Clive parade. This places seasoning was more peppery and smoky.

We just had a delivery through uber for KFC, food was amazing, my partner's a vegetarian and had the veggie salad and veggie burger, Nick said was so tasty and loved the garlic mayo too. Thank u guys, I loved my chicken, don't usually order because Nicks vegetarian. So u have converted my partner. Thanks again. Be safe xxx

Great Tasting Food, Seating area rather cold.

The table had been cleared but was dirty. The Chicken was good but the place didn't feel very welcoming. There wasn't much cardboard for the meal to fit on either, not a pleasant experience in afraid. We normally love KFC too!

Service was good and quick. Tables were filthy. Rubbish all over the floor.

The staff had absolutely know idea what they were doing. Three staff and they seemed to just be wondering lost and clueless are food was half prepared and just left on the side while they served 3 others, and it was because they were waiting for anything to be cooked because I think that part was the only thing going right.

It’s a nice big place to go and eat with lots of parking and has a drive through as well. Only problem I could find was a wish they did more meal deals..

Good place to eat. Atmosphere can be bit cramped as busy times are overcrowded and you feel the need to hurry up and get out of here ASAP

Girl taking order was coughing all the way, Manager walk pass her like its OK. She didn't handle food, but I don't think people should be allowed work in food service like this.

The place is clean, it's popular and the staff are polite and smart. Unfortunately it's chicken sizes are REALLY bad. They vairy from a reasonable few mouthfuls to a tiny scrap of chicken the size of a hotwing. If I buy a meal for a standard price I expect a standard weight in chicken.... If they have small 'bitesize' chicken that is half the size of standard, I expect to get twice the amount. You wouldn't expect to go to the chip shop and the staff give you a half a portion of chips due to the small potatoes they brought that day.....

Was my first KFC in years. Disappointing. Probably just because I remembered zinger tower burgers as being better than they actually are.

Went here with a group from work, there are a lot of choice of different burgers which is good but starting a £8.95 it's expensive then you have to add fries to that which is minimum £3.50.I ordered a chicken classic burger, sweet potato fries and a coffee which was over £15.The burger was rater small and rather tasteless if I'm honest.We were the only people in the place and I can understand why, Burger King or McDonald's are fraction of the price and much better in my opinion.

Took my daughter here for dinner. Service was good and staff were friendly. However the food was just not as good as i expected as my burger was just so so. Ok for a visit - maybe my expectations were too high!

Took the kids to GBK for lunch and had a really nice meal - I know GBK are under pressure as a chain, but the service was good, the staff friendly and the quality of the burgers was great. The shakes are a little pricey but clearly the best quality around so worth having as an occasional treat. Plenty of parking and other facilities nearby including the cinema so a good lunchtime stop off.

You only specialise in Burgers. People come to have Burger and they were over priced and with no taste. Sorry did not like it. Over price means food needs to be exceptional which it is not just a rip off.

I’m sorry to say a very substandard meal the chips were like the ones you find it the bottom of the fryer and £4 for a San Miguel rip off ☹️☹️

Went here for the first time today. having tried the other burger place across from it a few weeks back.We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who gave us the run down of how things were at GBK. So you can either order at the bar, flag a server or use the app.So grabbed the app on the app store and proceeded to give it a try. placed the order and was greeted with the drinks and receipt / order confirmation a few minutes later.normally im not one for using apps in restaurants etc unless its for a freebie or money off but this was a simple system that was so easy to use. had all the current menu choices on there and staff were at hand if anyone had any questions.quick, easy, friendly place with good food. Ok yes the price is high for the area its in but that certainly wont dissuade me from going back.might even try take away one night after the cinema as its right next door.

We had lunch here and staff where lovely and accommodating lunch menu is good value would order coleslaw for one and fries for other and share them

We ordered a meal for pick up but wasn't ready on arrival and clearly had not been put through the system. When they did get it together, the order was all over the place but we were too hungry to go back. Complained the next day and never heard anything back.

I love GBK and the Swindon restaurant always has tables you don't have to queue. The staff and friendly, the service is quick and the food is great. Highly recommended.

Went here for a birthday treat. We have been here a number of times in the past but never reviewed it. The food is always amazing, service is very good and price is fair. We like the variety of food on the menu and it’s always nice to see new items come in as well as having the old favourites too. Their app is really good as special offers tend to draw us back too.

Went for the take away option, ordered on line, very quick and simple to do.

We had booked for lunch as we have eaten in a number of these restaurants and found them to be pretty good. Not so in the Swindon Branch!

Arrived on a quiet Friday lunchtime - not busy at all. Took a seat, went to counter to order, food arrived in good time but no drinks yet - had to remind the waitress of these. Chip portion was tiny compared to other GBK at least half the size.

Only been here a few times but every time I've been I've been throughly impressed every single times. Staff are polite and helpful all the time. Always smiling and positive. The food is delightful, I will always visit this place when I can!! Never disappointed

In theory you should know exactly what you're getting when you go to a GBK. But our experience here was quite a lot worse.

We'd booked online and were greeted by a girl who told us she didn't know which tables were clean so take a seat whilst I check, not a great start.

Great to have a GBK in Swindon, and until Five Guys comes, it will be the best burger in town.

I went there with my girlfriends before the cinema and we were not dissapointed. Affordable prices, good service, polite waitress and just good food. Definitely will go back. Thank you guys :)

This is a great burger place however it’s lacking in execution. It’s not a restaurant per see as you have to go the counter and order. Therefore it’s a glorified MacDonald’s. There can be big queues and it’s mainly full of the younger generation.

Had not been to a GBK before. Went with some work colleagues for a drink and some food after work Menu is extensive, both the drinks and food. I had the chicken filet with satay sauce with a fried egg (xtra) and sweet potatoes fries....

The burger I ordered was ok. The people I came with enjoyed their food and burgers. The staff were friendly. But the cost is a lot when all your eating is a burger that is just ok and have to order the chips separately.

Friday night. Took my daughter and her friends to Ask Italian whilst we went to GBK to try it out. Worst decision ever. 4 of us 4 burgers and fries took over an hour and the place was not busy. My daughter phoned saying she had finished before we even saw our burgers. Avoid.

Walked in at approximately 20:45 and nobody there to greet us. Eventually somebody appeared and barely acknowledged us, led us to our table. I went to order at the counter (bearing in mind they must've known we'd be ordering soon) and there way nobody there, the staff were all just chatting in the kitchen. I stood there for a good while before deciding they didn't deserve my money. We went to Nandos instead, much better service.

First time visit for me, had been told in the past by friends and family how great the burgers were etc etc. It was yesterday, a Monday, about 1pm, not many people in the restaurant which frankly looked a little down at heel, sticky (to the touch) table tops, bits on the floor, dusty in places, just looked weary, as though only minimal cleaning had been done. We ordered our burgers at the bar, a cheeseburger for my daughter and a char grilled chicken burger for me, it was the lunchtime special and we paid extra to be upgraded from a 4oz to a 6oz size for the burger and chicken. With this we got chunky chips and mini french fries and a fizzy strawberry drink which was very nice. When we got the food, it was not hot, not cold exactly, but not as I would have expected, going by other burgers in other restaurants, The chunky chips were ok, some a bit greasy/fatty and the mini french fries ok as well, but not hot enough. The chargrilled chicken was thin and small, can't quite believe it was 6 ozs, and it actually tasted burnt, a nasty taste, I have had chargrilled meat and chicken before and it never tasted like that. The cheese burger was OK but just really, a normal cheeseburger, and again quite frankly, we have had better burgers, even as pub meals, than here. So, yes, we were disappointed, we really expected something better.

I've had my GBK rewards app for a while and I'm currently on 14 visits, and I have to say that the Swindon store has gone down hill and I am quote frankly appalled by recent visits. I went with my family, no longer than 3 weeks ago, just the 3 of us and it took 20 minutes for our 3 burgers and fries to be delivered to us, all stone cold. But we ate up because we were becoming late for the cinema. Then, Saturday I came again, with 2 other friends and ordered the big mouth burger and although it only took 10 minutes to come, that again was stone cold and completely inedible. I got a refund for the burger and because of this ended up going without a meal, because again, I was late for the cinema. This place used to be reliable and I used to go here a lot with family. But, with both of these visits recently, although once being a loyal customer, I doubt I'll return. None of the staff seemed to have a clue what they were doing and very slow service when there weren't even many tables, and yes I have worked as a waitress so I know that sometimes serving isn't easy, but this was even when it was quite. Not one apology for the poor service, and I was left under the impression that not one of the members of the staff had cared about the impression they'd given me. Had a few problems in the passed with rude staff as well. However I must say that Eva, the lady who refunded me and served me at the counter was very polite and was the nicest member of staff there. The other waitress, didn't seem to care that there was an issue. Seriously need some training in customer service seems like!!! If you want to eat at GBK, do so, just not in Swindon!

2 chargrilled chicken burgers, a side of coleslaw and tap water to drink. We sat outside, service was friendly. We were warned that it was 20 min wait due to a large table. The food arrived in that time.

Having booked a table well in advance when we arrived, we clearly hadn't had anything reserved. Not a problem as there were plenty of tables free. The young guy who welcomed us asked his female supervisor where he should seat us which clearly irritated her. He then explained she was in charge of the floor plan and he didn't want to upset her! He suggested a place to her that we could sit to which she barked "Well it'll have to do won't it!". She made us feel like we were inconveniencing her greatly. Having ordered (1 starter, 4 burgers and 4 drinks), the starter turned literally 30 seconds before the main course, not great timing. On the plus side, the food was great, very tasty and really filling.I'm not sure I'd go back in a hurry after the miserable reception we got from that one member of staff.

Burgers are supposed to be cooked to medium but come out closer to rare. Staff are friendly. Overpriced for the amount of food you receive. Only yogurts available for dessert

Went here for my daughters birthday. Took the order. 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 drinks. 3 of the items were not available so ordered different ones. The starters never arrived even though we were reassured that they were on the way (half way through the mains!). Drinks were warm (lager and fizzy water). Never received the requested free refills of water. Meal was average. When we asked for refund of missing starters, we received no apology. The excuse was that it was Eurovision night and they hadn't expected to be busy! Service was appalling

Not being a very big burger fan but I was very impressed with this place. Their burgers are delicious and they have an option of having the burgers 'naked', without buns. Cooked to order and comes with very nice salad. All for just under a tenner. Bottled beers a bit pricey though. Very clean and super friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting again.

Took my daughter for a burger on friday teatime,before a night out, at 1800 on 28/4/2017. On entering Gbk,i. Still find their system a tad confusing,as there was noone meeting and greeting at the front of house,nothing worse than milling about in full view of other diners who are eating their meals,so had to stand in the shall queue at the bar,until a member of staff approached us,and said they could accomodate us.i politelty asked if we could sit in an area of the restaurant that was completely empty,He declined staying that the area was for guests that had prebooked,strange because as i previously stated it was barren of any other guests. It would appear to me that they like to herd all guests into one small corner of the establishment,to avoid having to clean and served in different areas?.The tables are very close together and i personally find that a little off putting,when trying to manage a large burger, which can ba messy business.Their ordering system required you to select your items from the menu,then stand in a queue at the bar then pay immediately, what happened to taking your order at the table?,when your paying as much as they charge,i think its the least they could do.Ordered a burger, and fries each and a milkshake, the member of staff said the drinks would be brought over shortly,and we should take a seat.15 Minutes later the milkshakes appeared,which is too long in my opinion,they werent even busy,the food came out shortly afterwards and was delicious and well presented. To wrap up our experience,lovely food, completely lack of ambiance and extremely overpriced, wouldnt like to take a family there,unless a l had just won the letter(£36 for our little meal)If your going to charge the earth,open up the restaurant, create some ambiance and get some waitress service going,otherwise you might as well spend £12 in mcdonalds.

I don't write reviews often, but when it's due and worth it good or bad, if it's worth making people aware then so be it. Have just this minute walked in after visiting the Swindon branch, and though there seem to be some little issues (wait time, pricing) I would rate it as a 5 as the problems were acknowledged and remedied BEFORE I could make a query! We were celebrating a family birthday, and just as we started finding the wait for the 6 meals excessive, the waiter came and apologised and offered a free round of drinks as the Manager would like to apologise! We hadn't even complained! That is deserving of a big mention I think. The waiter needs some training on carrying food to tables without a tray (pole full of onion rings walked to the table by holding them from the pole itself) and having to queue to order arrival drinks at the till for ages rather than order at the table is hardly 'gourmet', but for a team of staff obviously trying to improve their service levels I was impressed, if a Manager is happy to put his or her hands up to a complaint that hasn't yet been made then good luck to them. Food was excellent by the way, especially the Kiwiburger (made of buffalo).

I recently visited GBK with my family for a quick meal out before a show at the wyvern. Like many franchised food chains the choice and food quality is standard, so the difference comes down to the cooking and service.Sadly in a place where you have to order everything yourself, and queue to do so, it doesn't score well. Couple that with then waiting near 30mins for out food and drinks, it left a lot to be desired. Why they can't serve the drinks first I've no idea, oh and no it wasn't that busy!The cooking was ok, kids had their burgers apparently well done, which they weren't, my food was just average, In wouldn't say gourmet.With a lot more choice in this area now, I'd probably try somewhere else next time

Quick colleague lunch outing and excellent value for money.For £6 you get a burger, side and a drink.The drink is from a limited selection but was very refreshing and not too sweet.Burgers arrived pretty much together which for a large table was very good.Chunky fries versus French fries comparison concluded chunky is best.

When GBK opened in Regent Circus about two years ago, it was a triumph. We had visited other branches in the franchise and the new Swindon branch was far and away the best. My favourite burger was the Chicken Satay while my wife loved the Taxi Driver. They kept it up the standard for about a year. Then something happened. The quality, portion sizes and overall standard dropped considerably and after feedback and complaints, we stopped going. Last evening I was at a loose end and decided to give it a go - for old times sake. At 18:30 the "restaurant" was about half full. I went to the counter and ordered a Chicken Satay, sweet potato fries and a beer. £20. 15 minutes later and after asking, my beer made it's way to the table. A further 10 minutes passed before my burger arrived. I should have known something was wrong because 4 of the 5 tables around me had issues with their order. Incorrect orders, burnt, forgotten elements etc. When my burger finally arrived, it was a pitiful little thing lost in the middle of an average sized plate. Resigned to my fate, I took a bite. In a word revolting! The chicken was dry and burnt. (I am well aware of the difference between charred and burnt) The bun was burnt. The Satay sauce was disgusting. And it and the Sweet Potato fries were cold. As no-one had come to ask me how my food was, I went plate in hand to the counter and demanded they replace the order. 10 minutes later The replacement arrived. It was prepared exactly the same as the first. It was at least warm. A waitress came to ask me how it was and got extremely defensive when I told her that again the chicken was dry and burnt. And the bun was burnt again. No apology or manager was forthcoming so I left. Never to return.

An Absolute joke...We have previously enjoy eating at GBK, on this occasion it was disgraceful. The management was horrendous the chefs were terrible, our burgers came out burnt on the outside and red in the middle (ordered well done) with floppy Bacon and cremated cheese on the bottom, I complained to the manager where I got a justification then an apology. Then on the second attempt they got the bacon crispy right but the burger was still raw in the middle and charcoal on the outside...When we went down stairs to complain the chefs were shouting stuff in a different language (it appeared to about us as they was look straight at us while talking) and the so say manager didn't give is much confidence so we asked for refund and left. We will not be back ...

So you have to queue up for food ordering, queue up for more drinks (no table service so no drinks with food as queue was 5 deep), receive burnt chicken dippers and £10 burger. No thanks never again.

Visited GBK Swindon after hearing good things about it. So went along on the weekend with some friends. Arrived to a friendly greeting, eventually got to the table and waitress asked if we'd been there before. She explained we had to order at the till and wait for our food. Looking at the menu surprised by the prices of things. I ordered classic chicken burger, very nice but if you're not a big fan of relish ask them to remove it! Friends had similar food and skinny / thick chips. Amount of chips they got for £3.30 was not many, literally a cup full. Overall liked the food, but if you don't like loud environments think again about going here. The combination of open kitchen walls, young staff talking to each other and music is an odd combination when trying to have a chat with friends. Improvements:Although staff were working hard, seemed like some were preoccupied with chinwagging and standing around. I suggest this isn't​ done in front of customers.Would I go here again?Sure, maybe on a weekday and I'll definitely be trying the order and collect service!

First visit and probably our last. The Kitchen staff an waiter staff need to comunicate better. We got our mains before our starters were ready. When the waitress reminded the kitchen staff for a 3rd time what our order was he barked back at her that he knew. The food itself was tasty enough.

'GBK' has been suggested by a number of my friends so I eventually decided to check it out, Im not a fan of ordering at till in restaurants but understood this is their style of service, the food was ok, but it do think it was overprised and not much of an atmosphere

Ate in there earlier today, staff were a bit chaotic and seemed concerned with each other, rather than the customers. They all seemed a bit rushed, however the place was almost empty. On reflection, they were all very young.Floor was quite dirty and crumbs were still on the seats from the previous diners.Starters came out before the drinks, waitress then served our drinks with dirty hands.Food was good, especially the sweet potato fries. Overall, it was OK, would I go back? Probably not.

Had dinner here before the cinema, booked a table and glad we did at it was getting busy at 5pm on a Saturday!I had the don burger and my husband had the major tom burger, we added chips, onion rings and a salad and two cokes which came to £32 so not badBit of a queue to order your food which was annoying but the food itself was great! Both burgers were lush! Just lacked in the service department Overall we would return as we're burger lovers!!

I have been to the Gourmet Burger King in Swindon a couple of times. It is in the Town Centre and close to the shops. They do very good Burgers and Milk Shakes.
