The best restaurants in Swindon South West

I normally have a lovely experience,i am used to the lovely focused staff and incredible drinks however, the staff that was serving on the 4th of june were unfocused, chatting to each other which left me and other customers waiting for about 10 mins, took them ages to make as they were chatting and gossiping! i normally don’t like writing reviews but felt this was necessary:/ photo is supposed to be a mint choc chip frostino 🤦‍♀️

I recently ordered an amazing burrito from here with a side of Nachos. When the food arrived it was packaged well in separate boxes, which was good as burritos have a tendency to go soggy on delivery, this one was still warm, the wrap was as you'd expect it to be and the filling was very flavoursome. However, the Nachos let them down, although tasty, there was no Salsa or Guacamole on the Nachos, instead some cheap grated cheese melted with some sliced chillies and some cubed tomato. This was unfortunate, as a fellow chef I know how easy Nachos are to make as a dish, it's not hard. Kick Ass Burrito make amazing burritos, but not so great nachos. If I could give any feedback to this place it would be add guacamole and salsa to the nachos, they are priced quite high considering they lack some ingredients. Without the Guacamole and Salsa it was just like eating some dry nacho chips. But would definitely recommend giving them a go.

Visiting Gorse Hill, Swindon and feeling peckish, happened across the Diamond Kebab House on the high street by accident. Looked good, so thought i'd give it a go. Friendly and helpful staff in traditional Turkish Kebab House. Filling Chicken Donner Kebab & Salad - certainly hot the spot and tasted good. One to remember for next time i'm in the area. Free highstreet parking outside.

Visited the Swindon Hub cafe for a craft day. Safe, friendly and helpful new café in Swindon. Local crafts and info point. NIce new place in Swindon to escape, on the Parade.

Luke warm cappuccinos. Looks like they had to be remade with the correct milk. Took circa 15 minutes to make the two coffees which were, in context, mediocre.

Chicken Caesar salad was faultless! Amazing for the price, quality and size of the portion. Would highly recommend…..

Lovely country pub. Staff are amazing and very welcoming. Arrived in mid afternoon. Lots of parking and plenty of outside seating with dogs welcome. Inside the pub is very comfortable and welcoming with beams on the ceiling. A large feature fire place. One of those places you could settle in easily. We ordered food. My friend ordered a ploughman's and I had the gammon and chips. This came very quickly and was so appetising I'd forgotten to take a picture before tucking in. It was cooked to perfection! I'd definitely go again if in the area. A lovely quiet beer garden with birds tweeting and the odd sound of horses trotting past on the road... Idyllic. Really recommended.

The BEST BURGER I have had in a long time. Both my mother and I visited for a belated Mother’s Day meal and we were not disappointed. The onion rings were perfectly crispy too! A massive thank you Max for our superb dinner and John for overseeing! Linda made us feel warm welcomed. A charming small pub perfect for all occasions.

My food was completely cold and 1 lot of cookies tasted stale

Staff too busy on phones watching videos to serve. Dirty tables and a drink that went straight in the bin as it was not made right.

The attention to detail was brilliant. The staff were all, without exception, attentive and very welcoming they also made plenty of eye contact. The tables were presented beautifully with fabric tablecloths and napkins. I felt like I was having a meal at a special event. The food was beautiful too, well cooked and just the right amount. I don't eat very much and only ordered two sides but it was plenty and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend anyone who wants something that bit special to book here.
